Sometimes you just want something fresh & filling & South Block nailed it!
Ordered a pink dragon + a chocomole + an Evolution Bowl.
The Evolution Bowl (base=almond milk, avocado, spinach, banana, peanut butter, maca powder, spirulina & toppings=cashews, gojis, mulberries, pumpkin seeds, flax seeds, toasted coconut, strawberry, raw honey) was just what I was looking for. My advice would be to really stir up all the ingredients before eating it. So that you get all of the flavors in each bite as much as possible. It's about 2/3 base, 1/3 toppings. I def added the *free* chia seeds on top for extra crunch. You'll find them at the bar where they serve up bowls and drinks, next to the agave and honey. I really wanted a bowl that didn't have such a sweet base as most others I've tried. This was it. The base is not too loose, and almost savory, you really taste the peanut butter & banana. Avocado adds depth & extra creaminess.
The chocomole (a play on guacamole due to the inclusion of avocado) was more like a chocolate mousse. It was dense and slightly airy, mildly gritty, very chocolatey and semi-sweet. If I had to rename it, I'd call it 'faux dark chocolate mousse'--although I realize that's not a clever or sexy name. Anywho, it's not that sweet but could curb dessert cravings if you like dark chocolate more than say, milk chocolate. Ingredients: avocado, banana, coconut oil, cacao powder, agave, Madagascar vanilla, pink Himalayan salt + toppings= hemp hearts & cacao nibs.
My least fav was the pink dragon açaí smoothie. It was packed with organic pitaya/dragon fruit, coconut water, agave, strawberries and mango. The color is a beautiful fuchsia thanks to to dragon fruit. The flavor on the other hand is so light I couldn't really taste any of the fruits it included.
