South Block

Nobody does açaí bowls like South Block. On some days I eat it as a meal replacement. And pretty satisfying at that (although I get a bit hungry in about 2 hours haha).

They were very busy on a Saturday morning. I ordered an açaí bowl. It was really on point. There wasn’t any seating left available inside bc they were so busy but I did get a seat in the patio area. I will definitely be returning either for another bowl or to try out one of their smoothies.

While you really can't go wrong at South Block - I've enjoyed everything I've tried, from the newbie Dubai Chocolate Bowl to the guava smoothie - I can't wait for the return of the Pumpkin Pie Bowl! That is my favorite South Block creation - SO GOOD!

Whenever I visit D.C., I always stumble upon a gem of a place. South Block fit the bill on this occasion. From the clean set up of the space, to the detailed variety of the menu, I was drawn in from the time I stepped through the door. I appreciated the positive energy literally written into the walls of the establishment. I loved how the owners posted their Core Values, and then it was wonderfully illustrated by the workers behind the counter. Enthusiastically greeted by one of the them, even as she was in the middle of creating a delicious acai bowl (I had one later), I knew I was in the right place. I love a good smoothie, and had an idea of what I wanted, but I really appreciated how the Smoothie-maker gave me room to look over the menu, and then offer suggestions. She even poured a small sample of a creation she had recently made. With that sample, my mind was opened to even more possibilities! I took my time, waited for my friend to join me, and then we both settled on ordering an acai bowl. So, if you're looking for a relaxed atmosphere to enjoy a tasty healthy treat during the day, accept nothing less. Don't hesitate - just hit up the South Block.

I really like this South Block location. It’s convenient and easy to get to. There is always helpful and friendly staff on hand to take your order. While it can sometimes be a busy location the staff moves quickly to prepare your order. I typically order ahead via the app and it’s almost always waiting in the cooler for me. The prices are the same as any other South Block. They are open every day.

Yummy . Great tasting smoothies . Love the idea to add in the extra yummy stuff like Blue Spirulina, collagen, sea moss etc.

Ordered a protein smoothie via the mobile app. It was made quickly. And is very tasty. Good value for the menu. And a good loyalty rewards program if you sign up for it.

Awesome first experience I was craving some acai and southblock hit that craving. I got the pbj smoothie with peanut butter mango, and acai. It was great and fresh tasting with sweetness balanced out with salty flavors of the peanut butter. I normally only get fruit in a smoothie but peanut butter was a nice addition it is very pronounced but grew on me over time. If you dont like peanut butter or don't like it as a dominant flavor it won't be for you. Service was super friendly and quick. Picked up at the street pickup window. Overall it was a nice place with some outdoor seating.

I have to be honest here...I am a smoothie fanatic. I have made myself a smoothie bowl or a smoothie almost every morning for the last 8 or 9 years, so I am very particular on the few outings a year I grab a smoothie. With that said, South Block, brava. The gentleman working at the counter was extremely nice and asked me about different customizations for my order. I went with the Strawberry Cloud and left the coconut foam and strawberry glaze in. I'm not the biggest coconut fan in general, but it's a nice acquired taste and a beautiful and complimentary texture. As far as the strawberry glaze was concerned, it was more of a tart strawberry sauce rather than a sweet jelly, which added a nice fresh and distinct strawberry element to the handful of flavors going on. The actual smoothie itself stands alone without the glaze and whip. Beautiful texture and really balanced flavors. I liked what it came with for interest and color, though! All and all at $12 for 16oz, I do think this is one of the fairly-priced higher quality smoothies I have tried. Plenty of places charge that for glorified fruit ice or something lacking flavor. I will be back.

Food: this place is known for its bowls and smoothies. Always so fresh and a really good size so you feel full at the end. The price is high, but you feel really good about it in the end so worth it. I have to come back to try their matcha smoothie bowl next time. Service: they have a screen you can order from, pre order via their QR code or at the register. The staff were nice and helpful. Ambiance: it was a quick service. Fair warning they keep their ac on high in the summer so be prepared for that.

Great açaí bowl shop in Logan Circle! My wife and I came by and tried the Valentines Day strawberry chocolate açaí bowl for two and loved it. The staff and ambiance is great too but there is limited seating.

Smoothies and smoothie bowls. Standing tables and one sitting table outside. Decent amount of seating inside. Good stuff!

I was looking for a juice spot and found this on Yelp. Glad I did! I ended up getting two different packs and loved it. My favorites were refresh and glow. I wish they had matcha lattes, but they do have a chai latte.

South Block reached out via comments on my review, and also via email. And while I do recommend that there is a more immediate way to correct such understandable errors, I am delighted to have received a refund for the bowl that was omitted. I now feel confident to continue ordering the very best yogurt bowl I've ever eaten, the Bluetella!!!

When a smoothie or coffee place is TOO trendy it can be a red flag. However, SB comes off as trendy...then delivers quick service and a helluva menu. We enjoyed the "greenest" smoothie available and the Warrior Bowl. Both fueled the rest of our morning as we were "walking into" mile 6 of 8. There's something for everyone at SB; the space curls around, goes on and on, and several vendors/bakers also had some delectable offerings. We're glad we did a quick search before going to a *AHEM mainstream/chain smoothie place.

This was my second Açaí Bowl experience, and my favorite! Look at that picture, the fruit is fresh and piled high! The granola was so good too! I should have drizzled some honey on the top or gotten some of the chocolate pieces. That would have set it off. But it was awesome as it comes. I am a sweet girlie, and the Açaí mixed with pineapple was perfect! The service was great, quick, easy, and friendly. The establishment was clean, I even had to use the restroom and that was clean too. I enjoyed sitting there to eat too, they have big windows to look out of which was nice.

Not my favorite location but love the smoothies. I usually grab the greens and ginger smoothie and it never disappoints.

Have been coming here a long time- once a week at least. Today asking for Pitaya instead of açaí was an up charge of $4 (there never was a charge before) and 10g of whey protein was $2 up from $1. The pricing is getting out of hand- unfortunately the success seems to be translating into greed, so be careful on the pricing you're charged.

South Block is a smoothie staple in DC. Their smoothies are high quality and filling, but I personally don't love how protein-forward they are. You also cannot customize your smoothie which I would prefer to do

Came here because our hotel breakfast wasn't that great. My sister and I ordered the loaded toast which is an avocado toast, micro greens, and cage free hard boiled egg. They have 2 more toast options to choose from which are the avocado toast and the banana toast. The avocado toast consisted of avocado, olive oil, crushed red pepper, pink Himalayan salt, and hemp hearts. The banana toast is almond butter, banana, handmade granola, raw honey, and cinnamon. The place is clean and they have a takeout window next to the entrance for those on the go but don't want to come inside. There is limited seating so hopefully if you have a large group, you come before the rush. Overall delicious toast! Come on in if you're looking for a healthy breakfast or a snack.

LOVE this place! The açaí bowls are amazing! The California is my fav! And if you don't get the extra honey and chia seeds, you're missing out. This one is SO much faster service than union market. I love the art too! Only wish is for more comfortable seating...like some cushions on these benches, but other than that, love this place!

south block is pretty good. like all places of this genre it's overpriced but they at least do a good job. the acai bowls are pretty decent for a lunch. it's a sugar / calorie bomb but it is what it is and they don't skimp on fruit which is nice. overpriced but solidly good fruit smoothies / acai bowls.

The smoothie bowls here are out of this world. I'm just visiting D.C., but I have been here every morning. The servers are nice and the ambience is pretty trendy. No matter what you think of all that, come for their creations. No place makes smoothies and bowls as inventive and delicious as South Block. If you have not tried them, you must go. Worth the price tag, too. Health nuts will love this spot!

South block is my new OBSESSION. Everything is do delicious and so healthy!! And I am loving their drinks too. Can't wait to try a coffee or matcha latte next- I'm so stuck on the golden turmeric and ginger latte. Also- whoever answers their instagram DMs needs a raise!! They are AWESOME.

South Block is rocking the block, this time in Logan Circle with their new location!!! Best thing about having even more access to these delicious smoothies and bowl is that there is a Pop Up window!! So you can walk right up, secure your order after ordering online or through the app. Talk about making things easy and efficient. My bowl is always the same because it is so satifsying to me. The Magic Dragon Bowl is my go to bowl time and time again. The combination of the dragon fruit, agave, mangos, strawberries and coconut h2o always satisfies my craving. Plus I like the goji berries that added on top with the granola, coconut slivers and strawberries. I also grabbed a Mermaid Smoothie. As if the mesmerizing color is not enough its my favorite smoothie on the menu! I'm a sucker for anything with pineapple in it!! It also pairs well with mangos, bananas and blue majik. The interior is lovely and very inviting. You can order inside and also arrange your pick order to be placed in the inside fridge as well. Staff is was great They greet you as soon as you walk in and make sure you have everything you need during your visit.

Yes, great açaí bowls, fast service and a pickup window for app orders. But what I really like is the smooth, already prepared coffee. Staff makes sure it all goes smoothly. Definitely a place to start your day or grab a healthy lunch.

Got the Killer B. Bowl here and it was perfection!! Honestly can't go wrong with any of the bowls here. I definitely need to try more smoothies in the future. I find that usually a bowl is good to share between two people as a snack or have a whole one as a meal! The ingredients were so fresh and tasted really good and refreshing. Staff here is super friendly and helpful as well. Place is kept clean and all the workers are wearing masks, hats/hairnets so that was great to see.

Huge bowls and super fresh, and they have free chia seeds and honey you can add yourself. Can't beat it!

Always a pleasure ordering a nice protein smoothie with no added sugars etc. I love South Block. I order online a lot. Smoothie always made in less than 15 minutes . Highly recommend if you are on a health journey.

Whether you call it a healthy breakfast or healthy ice cream (or breakfast ice cream?!?!) - this place has excellent acai bowls. Thick delicious acai topped with fresh fruit and an optional plant based protein. I am obsessed with acai bowls, especially when you can add a plant based protein boost. Without the plant protein added, i would usually be hungry in a hour. The acBrainerd! & smoothies here taste as good as ice cream without the unhealthy dairy fat! Seriously, why get fat on unhealthy dairy ice cream when you can get better skin and antioxidants from a frozen acai berry treat that tastes just as sweet! No brainer! The people here were super friendly even though they were slammed. They also serve local coffee too!

The only problem that I have with this place is that it isn't in real walking distance from my job. I have always wanted to try a place like this and finally got around to it and it didn't disappoint. The service was great and the Almond butter bowl I had definitely hit home. This place is definitely for people who want to stay on a straightened path with diets and I could definitely use it. But to be honest anyone who just wants to eat something light and tasty needs to give this place a try.

Love this place! They have amazing options and prices! I love the yo go window, I just walk up and grab fresh juices with in seconds! You can't beat that!

The Logan circle south block location just added coffee drinks back to their menu and they are so so good! I tried the seasonal peppermint oat mocha - one of the best seasonal lattes I've ever had!

I come in here regularly since I live a few blocks away. Açaí bowls are good. However, the company needs to train staff way better. Ordered a Loaded PB&J bowl + whey at the POS kiosk in the store and waited about 10 min, at which point it became clear that they lost my order. Turns out the POS system was set up to send their orders to the Pentagon City store. This wasn't a problem initially, so I showed the employee my receipt and she said she would make it right away. I get my bowl and it's clear that it's missing strawberries so I let them know. The employee I was talking to said what I ordered didn't come with strawberries. I figured I must've imagined it and gave up. I checked the menu and my receipt once I got home and the bowl I ordered did, in fact, come with strawberries. Once I started eating the bowl it also became clear that it was missing peanut butter. I'm skeptical that it contained the whey that I paid extra for since they couldn't even make it with the standard ingredients. If a company is going to charge $15 for a bowl of fruit, then I expect to get what I paid for instead of a bowl missing half of the ingredients. Will not be returning.

Terrible, terrible experience. I ordered a smoothie bowl and a coffee. I only received the bowl after 40!!! minutes and when I asked about the coffee I got no answer or get ignored!

First time coming here, and it was amazing. Great ambiance of the restaurant, fast service time and great product. I ordered the Pink Smoothie! & Shawneyda was an amazing help!

Super dope place. Great customer service. I really ahve no complaints all the bowls are customizable. I'm allergic to bananas and pineapples and you can take it out. But honestly I love building my own bowl. The granola is really really good. Abut that's all for now. I didn't take any pics

I love south block. Their bowls are delicious and so are the smoothies. They're my fav in the area for smoothies and bowls.

I enjoy south block but the management of orders here is absolutely insane. Been waiting over 20 min for our order while watching others that ordered before us get their order - our food is apparently 'coming'. I'd stay away from this location unless is not busy.

The acai bowls here are amazing, having the option to choose my own toppings and modify the base of the acai bowl is a win for me since i hate bananas. The staff seem like they like what they do. Highly Recommended

I read the old reviews and people have been complaining since March that service is slow and nothing has changed despite management replying to each comment. I typically go here on Saturday mornings and order 1 smoothie. There's never more than 5 people in line however the shop has a ton of online and delivery orders. They need to have a dedicated employee who only makes smoothies for people physically standing in the shop. It's insane that I'll be the the first one in line, because the people in front of me have left the shop, and yet I still have to wait another 15 minutes for my smoothie when there's 6 employees there. They need a better system. How about creating a second smoothie bar in the back, that's what one sweetgreen location has done for online orders. Honestly this makes me want to come here less often.

Do not order an iced coffee at the pick up window if you don't have fifteen minutes or more to waste. They need help figuring out some things.

It's good and nice to have a refreshing option in the area but I've been here twice and it's baffling how slow they are and uncommunicative for when your order is ready. Just doesn't seems like it should be so difficult to make the items considering there is no grill element

South Block has the best açaí bowls and smoothies around, no question! The staff at the Logan Circle location are exceptionally kind and friendly, especially Luis. I cannot share how thankful I am to have this amazing local business in the Logan Circle area. Keep up the great work South Block!!

Amazing açaí bowl! Definitely the best one I've had outside of California and Hawaii. Certainly more of the actual smoothie that you get at other places (for the same price). The toppings are tasty and well portioned.
