South Caicos Ocean & Beach Resort

This restaurant is situated on a hilltop with panoramic views of the island. The food is great and the service is excellent. The chef visits the guest to cater to ensure they are comfortable or pleased. I recommend this restaurant.

I stayed at ocean and beach resort with my boyfriend, I wish we could have stayed forever. Upon arrival we were greeted by Cleo, from the second we met him he was such a joy, so kind and welcoming, making us feel like we were family. We couldn’t have had a better host for our stay. Cleo is such a hard worker ready to assist at all times with a smile on his face. | The room was so spacious and had a big balcony with an amazing view. The room was very comfortable and had everything that you could’ve needed. We got food and drinks from dolphin grill on property which was really good. | The pool on the property was huge and had some viewing steps to overlook the water. The location of this resort is amazing, you are able to see the sunrise as well as the sunset. I couldn’t have enjoyed my time more, and I can’t wait to go back!

We arrived exhausted from a very busy fall and holiday season. Cleo, the hotel manager, checked us in and provided a room on the ocean side. It took us two days and nights to become normal again. Cleo coaching us as to what amenities were available, we were still too tired to take him up.|This place has the quiet that we need and delicious local fish and conch fritters. What a find!

We recently stopped by here while staying at EBR. Your food options are super limited on the Island and in an effort to escape the $uper expensive menu at East Bay, we stopped by for some dinner at the South Caicos Ocean Resort. The menu was much more reasonably priced. We ordered a chicken dish and a steak dish. The food was just ok, the drinks were better, and the views were phenomenal. The host was super friendly, the servers not as much. If you're looking for an alternative to EBR, check it out, but don't expect anything special from the dining room.

First, Mr. Cleo does his best to make a silk purse from a sow's ear, but in the end he's still working with a sow's ear. The rooms are clean and well maintained, just have a small window AC unit which struggles to keep the room cool, but overall it was comfortable. I was the only guest the first night (only two others the next two), and the restaurant wasn't open, so I had to find a local grocery store, and I survived on $18 peanut butter and jelly sandwiches (loaf of bread, $6.00, small jar of peanut butter, $6.50, small jar of jelly, $5.75). The restaurant was only open for lunch and dinner, with an extensive list of seafood and specials, none of which were available. The waitress/bartender could not make the most basic of drinks, but fortunately they had plenty of beer. Wifi is available, but generally doesn't penetrate most of the rooms, and is very slow. The rooms have a mini fridge, microwave and coffee maker, so bring your own provisions. I will be going back in a few months (only because I am being paid to), and will take a large supply of gourmet MRE's (Meal, Ready-to-Eat).

It was good of Mr Cox to transfer us and upgrade our room but lifting a finger to help my wife with her bags would have been a more welcome courtesy. Things are very peaceful at the weekend and if you don't specifically pre-order breakfast or lunchtime service at SCOBR you'll be left without food. Johnny's store at the corner of Graham and Lees Street is open early on Sunday and can save the day with bananas, sardines and saltines. ||||The food at SCOBR is coffee shop stuff with a preponderance of fried dishes. Multimedia is a strong suit with two TV channels blaring during daylight opening which is overlain with techno beat and a disco light show as dusk descends. Like the previous reviewer we found the foul language in the bar/resto off-putting even before dusk.||||The pool is cleaned regularly but is overdue for an overhaul in common with the tired furniture surrounding it. A new wing is under construction at SCOBR so weekdays are marked by building noise. There's no beach to speak of but the strip in front of the near completion East Bay Resort will rank highly when groomed of seaweed. It's a ten minute walk away past the graveyard.||||2015 should see a number of other lodging options come online in SC - a well deserved fillip for the island and its people. Mr Cox will have to pull his socks up to compete in that environment.||||And for Church Goers:||St George's Anglican church has no sign board but the Sunday Eucharist starts at 10:30 while St Lucy's Catholic Church celebrates at 17:00. Many other observances can be heard throughout the day.

Went up to the South Caicos Ocean and Beach Resort to enjoy the best sunset view on the island. Cleo the owner and host entertained us with accounts of his travels, welcome to South Caicos and most importantly telling us about his Grandmother personal recipe for the mashed potatoes. (to die for). Go there for the view, food and of course Cleo. Jose the bartender is tops and makes sure that you are never wanting for a drink.

Came there for the annually festival Regatta, stayed on the 2nd floor. The room had an old a.c, the beds blankets and sheets had stains and holes, the bathtub was dirty and it was ugly. The best thing about this hotel is the view, however do not expect to have a.good view for this won't happen because the rooms are facing the cemetery. You would have to come out of your room to go look at it. There is a restaurant and bar there, however it is very expensive. Please do not book there online or go there period. Try another resort on the island East Bay Resort.
