Pretty good size playground before you get to the boardwalk before the beach. Sand showers right beyond the boardwalk before you get to the park was really nice. The beach was pretty empty and clean.

This park is extremely convenient to visit with your little ones. Parking won’t break your wallet and the beach is next to the park. Not too crowded on weekdays.

Very nice park to enter the Beach, with all services, restrooms, parking, clean beach.

One of my favorite spots along the Atlantic Ocean. Plenty of parking, except on the weekend when it gets a little busy. #TGBATG #Cybergenica

South City Beach Park has wide sandy shores, clear blue water, and a relaxed mix of locals and families. Perfect for swimming, laying out, or picnicking, with shaded areas, nearby food, and plenty of space to enjoy the ocean without feeling cramped or overrun by crowds.

Well kept. Bocce ball court. Gated children's play area with soft floor. Volleyball court. Restrooms. Ample, affordable parking. Right on the beach. Has public showers. Picnic tables and benches. Unfortunately, the Cafe Cita restaurant is permanently closed. Hopefully, it will reopen sometime soon. Update: playground is closed for repairs as of 11-10-24.

Lots of fun. There's lots of water off the east side for some reason.

Good park! Convenient parking! Perfect place for kids! They also have shower and restrooms. They have cafe and ocean access! By the way the beach area is under construction.

Yelp
This is a very nicely appointed beach park in the city of Hallandale Beach. There is also a North City Beach Park that is about a ten minute drive away. The park was renovated at a cost of $4.36 million as part of the City Wide Parks Master Plan and it reopened on March 1, 2015. South City Beach Park has beach access, restrooms, outdoor showers, open air pavilion, two bocce courts, a fenced in playground, sand volleyball court, and a beachfront concession stand. If you chose to come here do not let your parking time run out! I have been here twice and they are very aggressive about writing tickets. Both times I saw multiple tickets written. Online it says the minimum parking ticket is $39. I even saw one car with the barnacle which covers the windshield and makes it impossible to see to drive the car until you pay the fine to unlock it. You can pay for parking on your phone by app. In addition to being quick to write a ticket, another thing I didn't care for is they change the parking price whenever they want. If you come early or late you can get a discounted price of $2 and hour which is half off the normal $4 an hour rate but another time I came on the Sunday after Fourth of July and a holiday rate of $10 was in effect. If you are going to stay all day it is fine but at least for me it discourages dropping in for an hour or two. Make sure you keep an eye on the time so you can have your best beach day here.

Yelp
A convenient parking lot for the beach. It's clean, has shaded areas, showers, and a nice pathway that leads you straight to the sand so it's easy to pull a cooler. The parking lot is pretty empty before 12 but can get full later in the afternoon. They have a rule about parking reverse so make sure you park forwards.

Yelp
We came here on a Sunday and I love that there is a huge parking lot. Additionally, the playground is nice and there is a good amount of shade. There is also a food option here, good for snacks or a whole meal. The beach is a short walk (like 50 feet) and the sand was nice. They also have a beach volleyball court here, which was pretty active. The only thing keeping this from being a 5 star review is that you must use an app to pay for parking. Being an out of town guest, I did not want to have to download and app, create an account, etc. Also, what about people who don't have smartphones? That said, there were plenty of spots as the parking lot is a decent size.

Yelp
Within steps to the beach, South City Beach Park sits neatly on South Ocean Drive just south of Hallandale Beach Boulevard. Walking from North, you will first pass the Bocce Courts which were filled with older gentlemen playing what seems to be a very serious game. A little past this, you will find a little kids playground and a sand volleyball court and a few covered pavilions. Further down the path, is an entrance to the beach. It's easy to buy coffee or a treat at Cafe Cita and sit and enjoy the sights and sounds of this quaint park. The bathrooms are clean with automated sinks, soap dispenser and hand driers. They have neat recycling and trash bins. The park seems to be very well maintained and a popular spot.

Yelp
The beach itself is great. Went during the week and there was plenty of pay by phone parking. Restrooms are okay. There is a lifeguard there.

Yelp
Nicely renovated grounds, including a kid's play area. There's very little room to spread out once you're on the sand (very narrow) & only 1 shower to rinse off. The towering buildings on either side almost feel like they're on top of you which adds to the constrained feeling. Parking was free, but only temporarily until they finish construction.

Yelp
Yes, this project, like all city projects has been going on for far too long. I imagine the usual suspects are at fault, however, they are finally finished and have built a tiny parking lot with tiny trees for SHADE in the summer and yet another uggggly toilet/changing room. It is an abortion and an eyesore. Why don't these idiots take a page out of Andres Duany's project at Seaside which is now world famous. There is no good reason to build the monstrous kind of building they have allowed the developers to place here. It will be years before the growth covers it up. I found the designers; they list their services as: ARCHITECTURE-ENGINEERING-PLANNING-INTERIOR DESIGN. The company is Bermello Ajamil & Partners, Inc. (I wonder if somebody's cousin in the Hallandale Beach bureaucracy is one of the partners or friends or cousins or wives, hummmm). Anyway they are located in Miami not Hallandale. Why could a reasonably gifted gardener/designer have done a better job at a fraction of what this mess cost? A very simple little shack, similar to what the State of Florida has at Bill Baggs State Park on Key Biscayne, with four outdoor shower heads and a men's room and a ladies room be sufficient. And why not something in wood that might bring to mind the original barrier reef designs of the 20's. They needn't have gone way to Seaside, on the Panhandle, for inspiration; they might have looked in their own backyard and seen the marvelous job the State of Florida did with Bill Bagg's Park on Key Biscayne. Woe is me I have to look at this awful pee house every day on my way to work. I would have done something in true Florida architecture. Anything would be better than this mess that is supposed to evoke a wave. Ha, not in my mind. How about local design, stick built (looking with materials that termites cannot eat), copper roof (cheap), clapboards. I think most of you'all know what I mean. The City might have planted more Florida things that love the salt, instead they placed the wrong shrubs, and CEMENT walkways (imitation brick is cheap and wouldn't make my eye cancer get up in arms.Ho hummm, I'm fighting a loosing battle and wasting my time on this review unless others see it and complain to Hallandale Beach to get on the ecological bandwagon and do it right.

Yelp
Unlike the other reviewers I think this park is really pretty. Sure the bathrooms are just basic and are not architectural works of art but when you have to pee, they work. The only issue I have with the bathrooms is that they are often out of paper and soap. The beach itself is not as expansive as the other beaches but when the snowbirds go away you definitely have more room. I like that we can park, play at the playground, shower and use the bathroom all in one location. This is definitely my go to beach now.
