"Real estate developer Jim Carter has merged his wine country dreams at this 38-acre resort property. On the wine side, the property produces a slew of different bottles under several labels, including the affordable South Coast Winery, the Wild Horse Peak, grown at elevation, and the pricey Carter Estate small lot wines." - Richard Nalley

The villas are so private and quiet. We have strayed in the hotel tower as well and the variety of rooms is great. Very romantic get away spot. And the spa music playing at the pool is so relaxing. South Coast has everything in one location with a lively tasting room, excellent restaurant and lots of places to stroll.

This is far from a Four Star hotel! The only thing this place is worth is the location. I got a two bedroom suite for me and my mother do you have a mother daughter weekend and spent over $2,500. Behind the wall of their most expensive room is an ice machine that kept going off all night long. Not to mention this two bedroom suite was extremely run down you can see the pictures below that I will add. The carpeting was coming undone wood in the top of the tables were warped when we first got there we just let it go but as our trip went on it got worse and worse. I went down to complain it was ignored, left they asked me how I stay was I told them exactly how my stay was and I told them I complained the night before about the ice machine and not being able to get any sleep and they said oh well we'll take off your Resort fee which was $25 a night. So they really don't care about their customer service either. The Only Thing Worth anything there is the shuttle driver Brandon who was extremely helpful to get my mom who has bad knees to the restaurant. That was the only positive thing we had happened there. So if you're considering staying here I wouldn't it is a huge waste of money and the staff really does not care. Especially if they have weddings going on which apparently is what my problem was I was a part of the wedding problem that's so I got the room that wasn't as top-notch as the other ones apparently.

We had a wonderful experience here with our Business Leadership Meeting/Team Building! The venue itself was perfect—everything was well-organized, clean, and set up exactly as we needed. The team went above and beyond to ensure the event ran smoothly, and our attendees were truly impressed. I was so impressed with everyone from the sales coordinator, Alejandra, to Mike with his Audio/Visual equipment help as well as the entire banquet staff! We will definitely be going back!

Villas are dated. They are in a nice area but rooms need to be refurbished. Seems as if they do not have enough staff as phone calls went to voicemail. The restaurant was wonderful but the wine was not to our liking. Very large bathroom but not much privacy in the toilet room. This might matter to you if traveling with friends. TV and movie selections limited.

Had an awesome stay at South Coast Winery Resort & Spa! The room service was fantastic—I especially enjoyed the chicken and the flatbread with steak. Everything was cooked perfectly. I finished the meal with the tiramisu, and it was absolutely delicious! From the food to the ambiance, everything was top-notch. Can’t wait to come back! Great rooms too.

Jake with reservations🫶🏾🫶🏾🙌🏾 I did not get to meet him in person, however, I love his personality over the phone. I called regarding amenity choices in honor of celebrating my mothers birthday who will be checking in shortly. He happily gave me a list of options and arranged a birthday card w/ a note to be placed in her room upon arrival. He spoke so kindly and is a great representation of this establishment. It definitely made the holiday season a brighter. Thank you, Jake.

The villas we stayed at were nice and clean. I would highly recommend staying there. However the restaurant experience was not pleasant.||The receptionist at the Vineyard Rose was rude. My wife and I approached the front desk to ask to get seated for two on 12/26 10AM. Instead of looking for table for us, she continued to chat with the bar tender. We stood there for 3-4 more minutes and nothing was being done to get us seated while there were so many tables available. She just kept talking to the bar tender as if nobody was standing and waiting customers. She didn't even say or ask us to wait. My wife was a little furious. So we ended up going to a nearby restaurant for breakfast. I really hope this receptionist lady would get some kind of corrective action by someone who manages this restaurant. We are so stoked by this lady's behavior.

Yelp
This past Saturday evening South Coast Winery (SCW) hosted a Porsche unveiling event sponsored by Porsche of Riverside, and Porsche of Ontario to showcase their new Macan EV, Macan GTS EV, and Macan Turbo EV to the delight of all in attendance. The invitational event was for current Porsche owners and their guests only. South Coast Winery property proved to be an excellent venue for the event, with its lavish restaurant, tasting room, souvenir shop, ample parking, and an expansive outdoor garden area where the event was held. Prior to the unveiling entertainment was provided by a DJ and a very talented violinist playing popular music. All in attendance were given a wine tasting card for sampling 4 varieties of South Coast wines, and two tickets for your choice of beer and wine from the two bars setup in the garden area. In addition, there was a buffet of breads, cheeses, crackers, and fruits, as servers provided succulent hot hors d'oeuvres such as grilled shrimp skewers, crab cakes, roasted bacon skewers, etc. Everything was cooked to perfection and everyone seemed to be delighted. Once the vehicles were revealed everyone had the opportunity to photograph, touch, enter, and converse with the dealership personnel regarding the specifics of the vehicles while continuing to enjoy the evening. Prior to departure everyone was presented with a token of gratitude in the form of a gift bag from Riverside & Ontario Porsche. Totally an enjoyable evening. Bravo! Thank you South Coast Winery, and thank you Porsche of Riverside and Ontario.

Yelp
It used to be a great place for a getaway. They would give you a complementary bottle of wine at check-in if you book directly. they no longer do that. They do not have microwaves in the suites. The rooms are a nice size with a little balcony or a patio and then they have villas. Seems like they're cutting corners while raising the prices. I don't think I'll be coming back very disappointing since we are club members and this was my number one getaway. I'll be trying out some new places in the area.

Jeannie L.

Yelp
My experience here was not good. Spent almost $300 on a room for it to not be ready at check-in time. As a "courtesy," the front desk gave us tasting coupons for the wine room, however my room already came with a free tasting so I'm not sure what the courtesy here was. When I reached out to their survey and requested to speak to a manager, pretty sure the response I got was an auto-reply, sad excuse for an apology. Our front desk agent wasn't that pleasant. This was for a mini honeymoon experience and it wasn't worth anything near what we paid. The room itself feels outdated. Will not be back and absolutely cannot recommend. So many other properties in Temecula.

Yelp
We stayed one night at South Coast Winery and felt very safe. our room was roomy and clean. The vending machines on our floor were broken, which is disappointing to not be able to get some water after a day of wine tasting. Elevators were very slow. All the staff was nice

Leniel S.

Yelp
Went here for a spa day with the girls on a Tuesday and we literally had the entire place to ourselves! The toning and hydration treatment with Agnes was so relaxing. Bought the sugar scrub from the gift store, put it on in the steam room and went to the whirlpool after and our skin was like butter. Everything was so clean and in order! Would definitely recommend for a girls trip and definitely during the week to avoid the crowds.

Elisa G.

Yelp
I love the store at the SC Winery and bought some candied pralines. They have cool gift items and souvenirs. We checked out the spa and might have a massage tomorrow. The hotel has cute cottages with a vineyard view which look so romantic! I will be staying here next time in Temecula! They just redid the gym and it's really nice! I love their ellipticals

Schquita J.

Yelp
What's not to love this is my second place away from being home . Restaurant is awesome wine tasting room awesome. Pool side more awesome if you go to the pool and your able to get jaslyn she is great .. she will take care of all your needs poolside. Cheers everyone.

Yelp
I love staying at any winery resort. It just takes me to another world. Very calming soothing to my soul! When I saw this place half off as their promotion, I quickly booked a night stay for my birthday. Room was big with a bath tub for some relaxation. The best part was the patio where we sat outside enjoying a glass of wine or coffee in the morning. Our view of the vineyards made it so magical. The staff were so friendly and assisted us with anything we needed. There is a restaurant and tasting room on site which made it so convenient you won't have to leave the premises. A shuttle is provided to take you back and forth to your room since it can be a little walk. My favorite part of it all is the spa area with swimming pool and jacuzzi. Was so nice to have the whole entire spot to myself in the morning. Would I stay here again? Absolutely yes!

Larry A.

Yelp
A beautiful location with personable and attentive staff, even in the winter. The property is lovely, with well-appointed rooms. We stayed in a bungalow with a fireplace overlooking the vineyard, creating a cozy and picturesque retreat. The staff was exceptionally friendly and accommodating to our special requests. Highly recommended!

Kaitlyn J.

Yelp
Went to South Coast for a spa day, came in the off season so was lucky to have a very calm spot almost all to ourselves. I loved the amenities, the staff were all very nice. Only reason I'm taking a star off is that the massage didn't last the entire allotted time and so ended up feeling a bit rushed. Robes were oh so soft, wine was delicious & locker room was very clean.

Yelp
I have stayed here many times over the years and have had many dinners and lunches at the restaurant, which I've always liked. Sad to say, this recent experience will be my last as I was ROBBED over night and my car damaged. My mom and I stayed here to celebrate Christmas together recently. When we got back to our hotel room to go to sleep. We pulled back the sheets to get into bed and found that both of the beds had numerous hairs inside and one of the beds had blood inside it. The sheets were not changed from the previous guest. We called the front desk to explain the situation and politely asked to either get new sheets or a room change. They gave us a different room and a young man came by to give us the new room keys. I don't think he was too pleased to do it even though we were nothing but nice to him. Regardless, we did move. And we also found multiple hairs inside the bed in that room too and all over the pillows. We were not going to bother letting anyone know again so we picked the hair off with toilet paper and tried to sleep anyway. The next morning was Christmas Eve and we woke up and went outside to pack our cars up to leave. I found my passenger window completely shattered and my computer bag (which I stupidly forgot to take in because I had been taking presents out of the car for Christmas and was distracted) was stolen. I reported to the hotel at the time that nothing looked stolen, but I told them that I wasn't sure and hadn't gone through the car yet. I realized after I drove home to LA with no window (because of the holiday no one could fix it that day) that it was missing. Thankfully my computer was not in there, but my binoculars and stopwatch that I need for work were inside as well as a Christmas card from my dad (and gift cards) and possibly a few other things. I am not rich. I have other problems including health issues and car problems that cost money to fix, which I don't have. I now have to pay for a new window with money that I don't have. The hotel refused to comp our room so we could at least use that money to pay for a new window. This hotel is not cheap and they don't have security or security cameras for their guests and take no responsibility for theft and damage to property that happened in their parking lot. I will never stay here again. I will tell all of my friends and family that live in Temecula to also never stay here again or eat here again. The manager also told us that there have been other thefts on their property. Maybe it's time to get some security then?!? How many more guests need to be robbed? UPDATE: They also stole my watch, which was a gift from my dad years ago and is irreplaceable. Beyond messed up--especially at Christmas.

Yelp
Booked the Chardonnay Hot Stone 50 minute massage for my 30th birthday! Faye was amazing!! Highly recommend this service when staying at South Coast Resort & Spa!

Syaniseu P.

Yelp
The South Coast Winery hosted a musician at the venue for late night attendees and patrons

Zoe C.

Yelp
What happened to this place, we had a very different experience than the last time we were here. Service was not what it was, younger people tended not to be into their job. The elevator had broken down and the stairs were locked. Once you exit the stairs you cannot return due to them being locked. When the staff were informed the first time about the elevator not operating properly it took the lady 2 hours to verify it was not operating properly. Most likely will not be staying here again. The restaurant is worth visiting, and the food was good.

Yelp
We had the most amazing wedding at South Coast Winery! After visiting over ten venues across Southern California, we ultimately chose South Coast Winery, which shows just how selective we were. We wanted a stunning venue that was dog-friendly, offered outdoor ceremony and reception spaces, had on-site accommodations, and featured plenty of greenery. South Coast Winery checked all these boxes and was the clear winner for us. Four months before the wedding, we had the chance to do a tasting and select the menu and wines for our guests, and we truly felt like VIPs. The food was incredible! It was a huge plus that there's a restaurant on-site, which meant no need for a ghost kitchen or pre-cooked catering. Compared to other venues, South Coast Winery also has a reasonable food and beverage minimum (including rentals), and they even provide two suites for two nights as part of the wedding package. On the big day, everything went off without a hitch. Our South Coast coordinator, Alejandra, was fantastic and made sure everything ran smoothly. She even whisked us around in a golf cart, which saved us so much time during cocktail hour and sunset photos! The venue itself is breathtaking at any time of day--whether it's during the day, at golden hour, or at night with the string lights. The way the sun filters through to the courtyard is just perfect. The food tasted just as amazing as it did during the tasting, and many of our guests said it was the best wedding food they've ever had! Our buffet featured chicken, salmon, steak, and a prime rib upgrade. And then there were the drinks! We had an open bar, and the bartenders were fantastic. Our signature drink was a blueberry margarita, and one friend joked, "The signature drink had no business being that strong!" Let's just say everyone had a blast--maybe a little too much! Overall, I can't recommend South Coast Winery enough. The venue is stunning, the staff is exceptional, the value is unbeatable, and the food is delicious. It was one of the best decisions we made for our wedding!

Ann B.

Yelp
Kevin assisted us in the tasting room. He was very helpful! Although we all typically enjoy reds, we all agreed the sparkling pinot grigio was amazing!

Viktoriya M.

Yelp
I wasn't even sure I was going to write a review but it's been a week since we stayed and I'm still thinking about how disappointed I was in the experience. My husband and I wanted a romantic getaway were picking between this one and another winery for over night stay. This one was $100 more per night but we decided to splurge specifically because of the VERY misleading marketing picture for the deluxe king villa thinking we would have a patio OVERLOOKING a vineyard. Nope we got into our room and I ran to the patio only to see it was surrounded by bushes with a parking lot behind it.. super bummed. We got the wine and cheese platter to room for an additional $40. The cheese was underwhelming something I could get from a standard grocery store for $5. Crackers were stale. Another bummer and money thrown away. The bottle of wine you could buy at front desk for $20 or so and bring to room. Pros: check in staff were nice it was quick and easy. Bed was comfortable and inside of room was nice. I think the biggest disappointment was going to the other winery next day for a tasting and seeing the views from their rooms and immediately beating ourselves up over our decision. It's not a cheap stay overnight in Temecula so extra bummed. Biggest piece of advice to management: UPDATE YOUR PICS FOR DELUXE KING VILLA SO PEOPLE DONT COME IN WITH SPECIFIC EXPECTATIONS. Overpromising and under delivering is what leads to negative reviews.

Nancy V.

Yelp
Great selection on Wines. Breakfast and Lunch is also good with a nice little seating view. I highly recommend South Coast Winery for a tasting tour.

Nick P.

Yelp
Checked into the hotel and the front desk employee never looked up once during the entire check in conversation which was pretty rude. Got to the room and the fireplace didn't work as well as the chrome cast on the really old TV. Got moved to a new room since issue couldn't be fixed and found a used water bottle on the ground from previous guests. No housekeeping showed up on day 2. The rooms are outdated and aren't worth more than maybe $150 a night. Sad to see this property decline. Not coming back here unless they upgrade their rooms and fix their service issues

Juanita H.

Yelp
I first visited South Coast in 2011 and came every so often. After not having been here in a while I've started coming back earlier this year and still love their spa as much as ever! I really love that you have access all day if you purchase a service (or you can always purchase a day pass). Services also come with a compliment glass of wine/champagne of your choosing (from list) afterwards as well which is always a nice treat. The staff has ALWAYS been so friendly and accommodating. I love love love their facials and Solvej is the absolute best at what she does!!! If you are thinking about visiting - just book the appointment already! The villas are nice as well! I love coming here to treat myself and get away from the daily whirlwind that is life.

Charita A.

Yelp
I really thought I was going to enjoy my stay here but it ended up being a let down. We stayed in a villa. First off the configuration of the room is odd. You walk into a small table and then a sofa to the side and an extreamly old school TV on the wall ackwardly positioned towards the bed. The decor was lacking. I mean there was like one frame hanging. The room was old and looked a bit neglected as well. Our alarm clock didnt even have the correct time displayed. The empty space towards the ceiling needed to be cleaned. Our lotion in the bathroom was not a full bottle. It was almost like whomever cleaned the room thought these were not big deals or did the bare minimum for the room to be presentable. The carpet also have visible crumbs. The shower area needs more lighting. The grounds are beautiful, the bathroom is large, fireplace is a good touch too, but Id much rather have an updated room that shows more care. I was trying to find a back-up hotel for when we visit Temecula but I guess my search will continue.

Amber E.

Yelp
Stayed for 2 nights in a King Villa - the room was spacious and pretty modern; - it was like a studio with high ceilings, a big bathroom, sitting area w/ couch and armchair, gas fireplace, and then to the side, a table w/ 2 chairs and wet bar w/ coffee maker and mini-fridge (nice if one of us wanted to stay up later or get up earlier). The property was very pretty, vineyards throughout, a simple pool area w/ jacuzzi (both could use some updating), and spa behind. There's a decent fitness center below the spa in the basement - equipment could use updating, and would be nice if it was above ground w/ vineyard views! Would also be great if they offered at least one complimentary fitness or yoga class in the mornings. They do have a "Morning Yoga & Mimosa" twice a week on Tues. and Sat. at 9 am, but it's $40 for hotel guests; would prefer if the yoga was free for guests, then buy your own mimosa if you're so inclined. I checked out the spa menu, but was also very pricey - classic massage is $175 for 50 mins, $210 for 80 mins. There's a tasing room (of course; wines are ok, there's some better ones in the Valley), Vineyard Rose Restaurant (ok food; overpriced in my opinion), and conference rooms by the restaurant. No business center, but I was able to email a couple documents to the front desk, and they printed for me. I called several times beforehand to get their email address, and no one answered the phone, so eventually, just walked over to the lobby, and got a (complimentary) cup of coffee while I was at it. Overall, I prefer the more boutique hotel next door, but it was still an enjoyable stay.

Carolynn Q.

Yelp
Literally have gone two years in a row for my birthday and absolutely adore this place. We tend to use this place to get away from the fast paced chaos of LA (Los Angeles). With the hotel care, fitness room and massage packages, this place is truly a dream come true.

Renee L.

Yelp
I can not say enough good things about our stay at South Coast Winery. The room was spacious & comfortable. The bathroom is huge. We had beautiful views of the vines & surrounding vineyards. Check in was a breeze. We were given a lovely bottle of wine. We had breakfast at the restaurant & it was very tasty. Beautiful dinning area. It is huge. Everyone we encountered has been so friendly & helpful. Wine tasting was just as expected. Some wines give me a headache, but none of the whites I tried did. I will definitely return & recommend South Coast Winery.

Kelsey P.

Yelp
We got married at South Coast Winery on 11/02/24 and it was GORGEOUS! We had our ceremony at the Rose Arbor and our reception in the Courtyard. It was beautiful in every way, and we could not be happier. We had fallen in love with the Rose Arbor area during a Valentines Day getaway at the hotel and were beyond psyched to get married there! Our main coordinator was Leann Casey, and we ADORE her! From the moment we met, we knew that we were in the best hands and that she would make sure our wedding was perfect from start to finish. She was there with us every step of the way, even after an exciting promotion meant that she wasn't as involved with weddings any longer! We are so lucky that we got the chance to meet her when we did and grateful that she stayed with us through the wedding! Overall, all of the South Coast staff are incredibly accommodating, friendly and wonderful to have around on your special day. If you want to get hitched somewhere that is stunningly gorgeous and that will make you feel so special, look no further!

Manuel G.

Yelp
This was a very nice location and premises. The Villas is where it is at! Very private with indoor jacuzzi. Small patio seating available right in the vineyard-very peaceful! Room has a kitchenette, dining table, couch, fireplace, king bed, beautiful shower and large restroom. The pool (Grapeseed Spa) was a heated outdoor large pool although could use some renovations. The outdoor hot tub was large and also a good temperature. As a guest of the resort, I didn't have a chance to do the Tasting Room, wine tasting as each time we stopped by it was packed and they could not accommodate us. I would recommend they prioritize their guests or have some appointments set up versus just walk in. The customer service could have been better at the front desk. for example, you have to call for ice delivery and many times they were very short staffed with no one there to answer the phone.

Samantha C.

Yelp
I was here for a work event so I didn't take many pictures of the place. The weather didn't allow to adventure outside much. Overall this place has great views and enough room for many if not all occasions. The food and drinks were great. I would book venue again.

Linda S.

Yelp
Beautiful resort and spa. The room was amazing. And the best bartender ever... thank you Christopher H!!!

Kelly M.

Yelp
This review is a little late. I visited South Coast in November for an anniversary party, and had a great time. The food was so good at the party and then had breakfast the following morning in the restaurant. What really stood out to me was the staff. Michael at the front desk, and Christopher at the valet station went out of their way to provide an amazing stay. My room was on the first floor with a beautiful tub that I definitely was able to relax in. I had left a pair of boots behind when I checked out and made a call. The boots were sent to me within a few days. So thanks so much to housekeeping staff. The pic is from my patio. Just gorgeous. I will return for sure.

Erica M.

Yelp
Experience review!!! I came to immerse myself in a luxury experience for a day. I rolled up, checked in & got my things up to my room. The rooms are just ok. The couches are worn out , motel style, maroon 80's couches. Bed...just ok (semi firm) , no comforter... literally a flat sheet, blanket and another flat sheet on top. I was cold (and lacking coziness) all night. AC worked great. The fireplace (an Amazon wooden corner piece of equipment) DID NOT work. Chairs on patio had bird poop on them. Curtains.... Eekkkk, horrible ...LITERALLY from the 80's as well (but they are blackouts if you are coming to sleep)! First thing... I wanted a hot, relaxing bath! Bathroom Jacuzzi tub was nice... Temperatures: perfect! Bath tub fills up quick. Tub is clean and relaxing. I didn't know what this sprayer was in the whirlpool however. This device had no buttons, had white crusty gunk on it .. was weird. Soap products aren't quality, Just ok. I love when hotels contract with real partners like Paul Mitchell ie for quality products. Not happening here. No robes ... for this to be a winery hotel.. people are here to relax & unwind. You mean to tell me you don't offer plush comfy soft robes for the WINOS?!?! Fail! Floorplan layout is spacious. The high ceilings, crown molding and ancient burgundy accent wall make the rooms seem more luxurious than they really are. No microwave. Fridge... yes. If you want snacks there are junk vending machines on every floor. No adult snacks. I got a snickers post lunch because they don't offer any real complimentary snacks around the villa. The snickers was old, sticky and hard. Paid $2.00 and a vending machine charge of $0.15 cent processing fee. The vending rooms are dark , no lights. After my bath... I decided to head down for some lunch. Lunch at the onsite restaurant was subpar. The food is just average. Had the Caesar salad with shrimp. Hubz had the plant burger w fries & an afternoon latte. Hubz said the burger was just alright. The latte was blah.. the espresso was not good at all. The service started off impeccable & efficient but turned into where's Waldo by the end. We had to hunt down our waiter and tell him to bill us & come back so we can enjoy the remainder of our day. The restaurant truly gives... LONGHORN, BLACK ANGUS vibes. You know .. the kettle ranch style w the 80's carpet?!!! The patio is pretty from the exterior but not really comfy nor esthetically appealing on deck. Basic chairs and tables .. cafeteria style. You can definitely get a quiet nap in (as I did.. with the sliding doors open). No children running up and down the hallways. Parking lot is respectful & noise free. I was ready for some entertainment post nap! Got dressed... Note: NO mag lamp in the bathroom for flawless facial cleansing, makeup and getting ready ladies. Entertainment time!!!! Note: If you need a shuttle to another side of the property be prepared to wait 5-10 minutes. This property is not efficient with golf carts & speedy service. Had to walk 50 yards in dress up clothes to the entertainment jazz series. Loved the artists! This hotel draws REAL SMOOTH JAZZ ARTISTS (not amateurs). So that was the start of something INDULGENT, ENJOYABLE & FIVE STAR with this hotel. I left the venue once the show ended at 9:30pm and I was terribly hungry!! I walked back to my villa, stopped by the front desk only to find out they stop serving food at 8 pm. Now what in the world????? Not 10/11 pm like most hotels??Unbelievable!! Had to DoorDash! This hotel does allow drivers to go straight to the room (not forcing you to have to get dressed and inconveniently walk down to the lobby). The majority of staff in the lobby are all children and have about as much sense as a bird. Smh! No complimentary wine down happy hour w/ light snacks, no complimentary continental breakfast. Everything you order is nearly $30.00 an entree so you will leave with a hefty bill w tax and gratuity every meal. The gym was nice offering free weights and plenty of equipment. Pool was busy & clean. Doors around property are pretty janky, heavy, they slam and/or get stuck. The Walk around the property is tranquil & clean. Overall...if this hotel went up against Northern California wine country hotels or even beautiful destinations like The Beach House in Half Moon Bay.. this hotel would recieve NEGATIVE FIVE STARS. I would not select this place!!!! Doesn't define hospitality, give the vibe of star quality. Things aren't right at your fingertips & not worth the price nor drive. Do your research and find true hospitality. This ain't it!!!!! Sorry; Not sorry.

Andrew C.

Yelp
This place is so outdated in every way possible. I came here for a wedding and can't understand how the rates are anything more than $100 a night. You can't even order room service, it goes to voicemail. Pathetic establishment. EDIT: thought it couldn't get worse but after waiting 1hour and 20 minutes for the single worst room service I've ever had, served on paper plates and plastic trays, I just had to update the review

TJ W.

Yelp
Excellent service I highly recommend coming here. The staff is very knowledgeable , helpful and friendly.

Garth P.

Yelp
The wine is good and everything is nice, it just doesn't quite do it for me. I don't know what it is, but something always seems a little off. Food always has one quirk that makes me say meh. Last time the salmon burger was underseasoned and not quite cooked all the way through. Wine is good, but doesn't ever make me want a bottle. Service is great, but there's always one person that acts like they don't want to be there or want anyone else to ask questions. (This last time was the hostess for the restaurant). I don't think I would go back. But, I love their sister winery right across the street: Carter Estates.

Yelp
The first day we have arrived we checked in our room our sink is flooded with dirty water and the whole floor was flooded that I tripped. The staff did change our room right away and provided us a complimentary wine. Second night the air conditioner from the top started dripping on the floor at 10 pm we had to call maintenance for it. We are paying lots of money for this it should not have happen a day after a day. The manager did not even come out to apologize for all the inconvenience. They did tell me that we did not have to pay for the reservation fees. And that I would be compensated and that has not happened yet. Besides that the hotel is beautiful and the staff was great.

Yelp
There were so many recommendations to come here and they were all right! The winery is pretty and welcoming, and the tasting room was buzzing with all things wine and more. Kim was great at recommending sweet wines for us to try and engaging with us to have a better experience! We will definitely visit again to have the delicious port wine!

Yelp
This place is amazing and we always have a great time. Staff is helpful and friendly, food and drinks are great at the restaurant and the live music is incredible.

Yelp
I went as part of a wine tasting. The property was beautiful. The service was amazing and they were very helpful with helping me and my party choose which wines to taste. I did not tour the property as much but I did walk out onto the balcony and it was very peaceful.

Yelp
This is my favorite winery to visit in Temecula. I got a bit carried away with the tastings this time but discovered a fantastic addition to my wine collection. I ended up buying three bottles of Riesling, which I highly recommend. Their sparkling wine selection is amazing as well.

Yelp
Had a great stay in a casita at this winery resort. Started with amazing check in service with Ariel & Malenda. We enjoyed walking over to the wine tasting area and the restaurant for dinner. The next morning we got up to hit the onsite gym and then relax by the pool. Our room had a fireplace and a lovely little patio looking out to the vineyard. Would definitely stay again at this perfectly located resort.

Yelp
Was looking for a new hotel to try out in Temecula and saw South Coast Winery had good reviews. For $330/night on a Sunday, I didn't think it was worth it. Compared to other hotels I've stayed in Temecula, this one felt like a budget hotel. No free wine tasting included and the patio view was mediocre. The room felt outdated and small. It took awhile for the heater to work. Overall I would suggest staying elsewhere.

Yelp
We love staying at the villas. Booked Jan 7-10 2025. Rooms are spacious and clean. I love a big bathroom!Peaceful quiet environment. We like the privacy of the villas compared to staying at the hotel tower. The room comes with a fridge and a Nespresso machine. The bed is super comfy. We turned the fireplace on every night. We've been coming here for several years from the LA area. Service has been consistent. Stayed in building #16 next to the pool and spa. Highly recommend.

Yelp
I ended up flying in from San Francisco for a work retreat. SF to SD is an easy flight, SD doesn't even stress me the way LAX does with their Uber accessibility at the airport. Cool cool cool. All good and smooth sailing. As an always time anxious person, I'm early. I arrive at 2:45pm, knowing check in is likely 4pm. I'm told the room isn't ready but should be by 4pm. No worries! I'll go have lunch and read my book. Well, it's 5:21pm as I write this. I have no room due to "housecleaning". I've watched at least 15 couples/families/gal pals all get checked in without issue. My head hurts, I smell like airplane, and I just want to prepare for meetings tomorrow. This is a cute place, the grounds seem nice. Live update: I walked up to the check in again and said it's been an hour and a half. Apparently, the room was cleaned. The confirmation paperwork was just...sitting in the back. Would never spend my own money here, not even someone else's money honestly. UPDATE: my colleagues that arrived yesterday (1 day after me) weren't able to check in until 6:30pm. They had also handed off luggage to be held while they waited and then came to retrieve it, finding no one in the reception area to help. Luggage was still needing to be retrieved from reception after dinner and dessert at 9:30pm. We asked if we could have late check out so we could finish with our presentations and were told no absolutely not. They are also almost unable to accommodate our party of 6-10 because they only have two servers. We are waiting for our table and I have no idea how this will actually turn out. Fingers crossed I don't miss my plane.

Yelp
Review is for weeknight dinner experience. We are local and have been to the Vinyard Rose many times for lunch. We tried it for dinner for the first time during the week. It is one of the few wineries that are open for dinner during the week which is a big plus! Their space is big and had no issue with seating (although we made a reservation). Our server Marc was fantastic! Great food and wine recommendations and just so nice. Food=amazing. Wine=amazing.

Yelp
This place should be ashamed of themselves. We booked a promotional package back in November but due to the LA fires right now, I called to reschedule our stay for two weeks out. We're hoping by then everything has calmed down and we'll know our homes are safe. They were unwilling to honor the promotion I originally booked because "it was no longer in the system". It was a poor excuse that made no sense. It's really sad to know that during this very difficult time, they lacked compassion. It's disgusting. The manager who rejected my request to honor it was Enjoli.

Yelp
I visited for a wedding and had the most disgusting hotel experience of my life here. I rarely write yelp reviews, but I feel as though this one is necessary to assist future people in avoiding this hotel at all costs. It needs to be torn down and replaced with something new. The villa, room 1101, smelled like mildew, which is suspect, considering we are not near the ocean. The sheets felt damp. The carpet felt damp. Everything felt unclean. The room service went to voicemail. When they finally called us back, we got our food over an hour later. It was the most disgusting and inedible food of my life. The eggs tasted powdered. The cold brew coffee literally tasted like gasoline. I cannot believe I traveled here with my infant. This hotel is to be avoided at all costs. It made our trip absolutely miserable. We tried to rebook at the hotel next door, but they were unfortunately sold out.

Yelp
Recently a group of us spent the day at South Coast for some R&R. We came after the holidays so we wouldn't get caught up with the crowds. We arrived after 10am but we had spa treatment appointments, so we went directly to Grapeseed. The spa is located in the back of the property, so when you turn into the main entrance, keep driving towards the back of the winery and follow the signs. After our treatments, we decided to pool it, so we lounged poolside with drinks. There is a bar with drinks/food available. It was not busy the time were were there and probably about a dozen people before we left around 1p for our brunch reservation. When we checked in for brunch, we were immediately seated in the patio. We had a very good experience during our brunch, and the patio overlooking the grounds and what's left of Christmas decorations. We went went wine tasting afterwards and I ran into a friend who is VIP, so we tasted in the VIP room. It was busy in both the VIP room and tasting room, but there was still ample places to stand/sit. The tasting room around 3-ish wasn't too busy; however, the counter area was packed. The VIP room only had 1 person assisting groups, but he was totally working it and made sure every guest was taken care of and that he answered all my questions. Our group walked away with a case to split. I ended up enjoying all variety of sparkling wines and ended up buying 2 (Natural and Brut) and 2 Cabs for my husband. We had a wonderful experience at South Coast, and can't wait to return!

Yelp
Unimpressed. Rude and unwelcoming staff. Came here to see a concert and wanted to use the spa facilities prior to the concert. The facilities are small and underwhelming for the price. Additionally, I left some items in the bathroom because I was being rushed out by staff, only to come retrieve them and find them damaged. If I could give zero stars I would. When I tried to enjoy drinks and food before the concert I was rushed through that as well. Seriously considering going somewhere else then coming back for the music alone. I will not be back and I'm local so it's a shame.
