FIVE STARS! We love the Durham Farmer's market! Fresh flowers, vegetables, fruits, meats, seafood, baked goods, coffees, cheeses, pasta, sauces, spices, surprises and more. All from local farms, bakeries and vendors. Easy drive from Raleigh, Durham, or Chapel Hill. Open EVERY Saturday 9AM-12Noon. The new location is off I-40; exit onto Hwy 54; enter Park Offices Drive.

Not much veggies there this early in the season. Beware 9th Street Bakery - super high prices; $4 for a muffin, $4 for a bearclaw (which was good, but not worth $4), $9 for a "foccacia" that was small and aside from a green onion and a cherry tomato was rather unremarkable bread.

I love supporting the locals. They provide an excellent, safe choice of fresh vegetables that you know it's origin.. don't have to worry about getting ill from tainted food that travels across the country. Please get out and support these vendors! They are out rain or shine. Nourishing acres is my favorite!

Google
Fabulous little farmers’ market that has a good selection of fresh produce, meats, pasta, seafood, and even soaps! Plus, they have some guest vendors who bring different foods and products to try. Definitely a great place to spend some time on a Saturday morning! Parking is easy, they do some special themed markets from time to time, and I kinda like that it’s dog free. Totally kid friendly.

Small but consistent outdoor market with local produce and natural products

Google
A small, friendly farmers market with plenty of parking and a fair amount of variety. I wish they allowed dogs, since there’s plenty of outdoor space and (at least when I was there) no prepared food vendors.

Wonderful people, lots of variety and offerings, family fun too 😁

Always fun, nice people, and a variety of goods offered, including vegetables, plants, poultry, meat, and seafood. Also often handmade soaps and local honey. In warm weather they often have live music! UPDATE: the new RTP site is easy to get to and offers plenty of parking! Still fun and offers good food and lovely plants!

Yelp
Went today to just see what was going on. Light crowd. Parked in the area near the market and walked with my son and my yorkie to see what was happening. It's pretty sparse as it's end of season. I bought a loaf of bread from one stand and some pasta at another. I was next in line to buy some cheese from Box Carr when a person came up, pulled me aside and said "we don't allow dogs". So I took my dog to the car and left after telling her she just cost her vendor a sale and her market a customer. Won't be back. If you're going to make the stupid decision to prohibit dogs in a parking lot of a mall where the actual businesses are all dog friendly, then make sure you post that plainly. Also, it's an open air market. Very Chapel Hill Fascist vibe. Avoid.

Yelp
The South Durham Farmer's Market moved in July 2024 to The Hub RTP off of Hwy 54 in Durham. The vendors are great and there's a nice variety of produce, baked goods, and other products. It's a very nice way to spend your Saturday morning while supporting local farmers and vendors.

Yelp
This is a small farmers' market located in a shopping centre parking lot. While there aren't a ton of vendors, there is variety and the produce is fresh. I like that there is plenty of parking and isn't so crowded that people are sardined in. The attendees of the market are respectful and queue up (rather than bunch in). This market has a community vibe that welcomes newcomers. The vendors are patient and happily explain things with anyone who has questions, and the attendees have great suggestions and ideas too. For seasoned farmers' market attendees and those newcomers who may be discouraged, this is the place to go to feel welcomed and get fresh food and local goods.

Yelp
A nice friendly little farmers market that has its regular shoppers and mostly regular vendors. Its hard to say because some of the vendors decide whether or not they want to come out. They do email you a list of vendors the day before the market but its odd sometimes to see that many of them are not coming that weekend. We stop by from time to time (hey, it's near the truly wonderful True Flavors Diner) but on the whole we'll travel farther to the downtown Durham Farmers Market for the better selection and experience.

Yelp
One star because there was no farmers market when I arrived. I was looking up farmers' markets near me and saw this one. It's a location I know - right by a license plate/tags office and several restaurants. Farmers' markets are usually in the morning but the description for this one says open 9-5 on Saturdays. It was 2 p.m. so I thought - I'll drive over and check it out. I expected that some places would be packing up or already gone, but when I arrived there was no sign that there had ever been a market - even though Yelp is still showing it as "open now." Either everyone sold out by noon and went home, it is not held year round and shuts down - probably after Labor Day - or it is no longer being held. I'm not sure. I'm sad that I didn't get to check it out - that is a very convenient location and too bad for local residents if the South Durham Farmers Market is closed permanently. Anyone know the status of this market?

Yelp
What a wonderful way to start your weekends, Durham Farmers market has a nice spirit, we like getting our vegetables and fruits from the farmers, have an early walk and tasty breakfast, usually there are random street performances, my wife loves the crafty and handmade arts and products.

Yelp
This market has come a long way just in its first year. I no longer have to travel to the downtown Durham market on Saturday mornings - I can get everything I'm looking for here. It's well organized, and the produce that the vendors offer is excellent both in quality and variety. It's good to come early though as supplies can be limited. If you're new to farmer's markets definitely give it a try. You'll be surprised how much you can find even in the colder months! And be sure to try the cheese at the Hillsborough Cheese company booth! Note: Winter hours are 10-1.

Yelp
This market just keeps getting better! Now starting it's 3rd year, all the vendors are within a 50 mile radius of the market, but most are much closer. How's that for local?! This year a new feature is a food truck each week on Saturday's. Korean BBQ taco for breakfast, yes! Plus they are now open on Wednesday's too. Love it!

Yelp
There is consistently a great selection of friendly vendors, but this market is about more than that. There is almost always a live musician, an activity for the kids, Farmer Foodshare, and other local educational groups. Some vendors accept credit cards, but the market manager's tent can take debit cards in exchange for a wooden token that can be used at all booths. They also provide up to $10 of "Double bucks" for SNAP users.

Yelp
Great selections from the various vendors, fresh fruit, vegetables, meats, seafood, bakery, herbs and flowers! Friendly folks, not overly crowded and parking is easy! Highly recommend!

Yelp
Fan-flipping-tasic! So happy this opened up close to home! Big shout out and much love to all the vendors! Keep coming!

Yelp
Hooray for the South Durham's Farmers' Market. Lovely produce and flowers, and meats and fish, and , and ... oh yeah, don't forget the mushrooms. wait, don't forget the eggs. wait, don't forget the bakeries, and cookies and breads... wait, don't forget the terrific hard working people. wait, don't forget any of it. just get up Saturday am, and get over there to hang out with great people and get great stuff (eloquent, eh, stuff?!!!)

Yelp
I like SoDu Farmers Market because they have the basics - veggies, mushrooms, and they have fresh seafood! It's in a parking lot however and it isn't covered so it can get quite hot. Additionally, if you're looking for any interesting or heirloom veggies or fruits, this is not the Farmers Market for you since it's a lot smaller than the downtown Durham Farmers Market. However, the vendors take cards or cash and you'll definitely leave with something delicious!

Yelp
Great convenient location for those who live in this area. It's a good place to buy greens. Can't beat a large bunch of organic kale for $2. I would love to see this market grow, however. It's quite small and has a lot of potential.

Yelp
I've been going to this place consistently for a while now. Tip: between November and April they open at 9AM and that's when they can actually start selling. But during Summer months they open at 8AM. I love coming to this place every Saturday morning and grabbing a hot cup of light roast coffee from Bean Traders and then heading over to Ninth Street bakery stall and getting some Chocolate Croissant. I've never actually bought any vegetables from this farmer's market yet but I might in the future. Oh and a coworker of mine said one of the stall sells great eggs.
