"For a bustling brunch spot with a more relaxed vibe, head to the South End Buttery’s original Shawmut Avenue location. The cafe always offers a wide array of pastries for those in a rush, but the biscuit sandwiches are always worth the wait for patrons who have a little more time on their hands. An extended brunch menu is served only on the weekends." - Maya Homan

Google
I highly recommend South End Buttery in Boston. I love the food, the atmosphere, the people there. Went there yesterday, found every dish was so special, creative, full of flavours. The terrace in the sunshine has a very European feel, and also enjoyed the bar afterwards. Such a welcoming place, can’t wait to go again.

Google
Nice cafe in the South End, a bit expensive but the scones are really nice and a good stop if you’re in the area. The butterscotch scone was full of chips and flavor, fluffy on the inside, and a good size. Coffee was okay, I prefer the dark roast more than the light. Cafe part gets extremely crowded so be prepared to take it to go or sit outside. A good stop for a quick bite! Overall not my favorite place in the area but solid!

Had a great experience at Southend Buttery! The staff was friendly and welcoming, and the food was fresh and delicious. The coffee was excellent too. The atmosphere is cozy and perfect for catching up with friends or getting some work done. Definitely coming back!

Go to the south end and go grab some bakery bread. There is nice spot for breakfast, Brunch and Dinner. The home made bread fresh everyday. I got a smoke salmon Bagel. This is the best I never have.

Google
I cannot rave enough about this place! The sit-down area is so lovely for a Sunday brunch. You can't go wrong with any of their entrees and their breakfast cocktails are the perfect pairing. However, if you stay in the front and take out a sandwich with coffee to go, those biscuits are just to die for! The caprese sandwich was life changing 😍

Google
Excellent brunch in the South End! The smoked salmon in the smoked salmon and eggs was amazing. The eggs were pretty good too, but the salmon was really the star. The waiter recommended the guava mimosa which was delicious! Seating is a little crowded but not too squished.

Google
The South End Buttery is a bit of a South End institution- it’s the spot everyone tells you to visit there! We went for a Sunday brunch and sat on the patio. It was extremely busy so you do need to reserve. The staff were friendly and brunch was good. My husband got the Buttery Breakfast and the pancakes were so fluffy - really nice. Not cheap but a nice spot for a nice brunch.

Google
Overrated! 4.75 for an anemic toasted bagel + 1.95 for cream cheese is criminal. It took 10 minutes to make it. I get that it's in South End but these prices are unjustified! Also, $25 for a basic burger? Bye!

Yelp
I cant believe I ate the whole thing !!!! Wow this place is amazing . It was so good that I remembered at the end to take pictures . Ordered the biscuit with scrambled egg bacon and cheese and hands down the best biscuit I have had in many years . But the winner over the top was the vegan poppy seed lemon muffin ... must go back again ....

Lily G.

Yelp
Food was not that buttery. Focaccia was dry and toasted too much, served with olive oil not butter. Pre fixe menu for $29 was basically just an entree and side (salad, fries) so we did not do that. Also no veggie options on the pre fixe. I got burrata and it came out with I'm pretty sure the same Whole Foods crackers I have on my shelf at home, and fig jam. The bursts was about the size of a fist, I did expect more cheese considering the price. They also gave me about 20 whole walnuts. One of our party who got salmon was asked how she wanted it cooked... cooked through was her answer. Ambience in the basement is cool but feels much like the north end. The cafe upstairs looked like it was closed and I nearly couldn't find the spot for dinner.

Yelp
South End Buttery is a cute cafe/restaurant that serves baked goods and breakfast items in the morning, while servicing lunch and dinner items at its later times. The service was as expected, with you putting in your order and waiting for the food to be served. It is definitely picturesque as it's right in the beautiful South End, and offers much of what you would expect it to. I ordered the Salmon Bagel, and as it is my favorite breakfast item, I enjoyed it very much. Yelp
My hubs and went in to buy some cupcakes and came out with nothing. When he went to place my order, he saw there were a number of flies in the case. He mentioned it to the cashier and the cashier's response was "oh, is it still there?" There were a number of small flies and at least one large fly. Decided not to get anything so I can't really speak to taste or quality.

Yelp
Very nice service for coffee. Quick and efficient. Slightly overpriced but quality cup of coffee

Yelp
Went here for brunch and it was definitely better than I anticipated! I first found out about this place because Brick Street Bagels does their pop up here and even though my friends and I weren't successful in preordering the bagels, lowkey it's a good strategy to come here for brunch and then check to see if they have leftover anyways!! Because they did when we went and we successfully secured the bag! In terms of the actual restaurant, be advised it's definitely a smaller space in here and they do have a policy that each person over 15 min late will be charged $25 so allot extra time! They also mostly have egg based dishes, so if that's not what you're into, it's a little trickier substituting. I am one of those people and got the breakfast torta with sausage instead, which despite the sausage lacking in flavor and being overpriced, the sandwich was good overall with the bread very crisp on the edges and soft in the middle! I had asked the waitress, though, if they substituted eggs for free and she said said she'd have to ask and get back to me but never did and I ended up being charged $6 which I didn't love because I otherwise would have chosen differently so just be careful! As for the drinks, I like most sangrias but this one didn't really hit the same and I probably wouldn't order it but I did try my friend's guava mimosa and that was delicious so would recommend!

Yelp
Probably my favorite coffee shops in the South end. Love their smoked salmon bagel and their matcha latte. I will say it's a bit on the pricier side, but honestly worth it. Service is always nice and there's always a quaint, peaceful vibe in there. Parking is very limited, as most of the parking around is residential parking, but it's not far from the Silver line, so it's fairly easy to get to.

Yelp
I've heard such good things about this place on social media so I ignored the yelp reviews and went for it. However, I should've heeded the warnings. South End Buttery had a great staff, very sweet and helpful. The food on the other hand...mid at best. The toast for my avocado toast wasn't even toasted...it's an avocado TOAST...? The ricotta toast was pretty good though, I would definitely recommend it. The pricing was slightly ridiculous in my opinion. I paid $11 for the avocado toast. I understand the prices are higher since Boston is a major city but $11 for one slice of untoasted toast and sour avocado is crazy to me. But I digress. There is limited seating inside but the dining room is clean and the A/C provides much needed relief from the Boston humidity. TLDR; Decent food and drinks but really overpriced. If you want a really hearty breakfast that's worth the money check out Mike & Patty's...

Yelp
I really enjoyed visiting South End Buttery. They have really unique seasonal coffee and it is really good. I got the rosemary coffee which was surprisingly really good. It had a tint of rosemary taste which went well with the coffee. The coffee is not too sweet and not too bitter it had just the right amount of sweetness. There is extra syrup that you can add if desired. The inside of the cafe is really cozy and downstairs there is a fire place to enjoy on a cold day. The croissant was really good and it was really puffy and soft in the inside. The breakfast sandwich was really good and filling. The employee there were all really nice and explained to us nicely if we had any questions.

Jean L.

Yelp
Best fries, hands down. Dinner service at 6pm on the patio on a pretty hot day: very attentive wait staff. My friend was able to bring their dog.

Yelp
If I could rate a 2.5 stars I would, but I decided to round up to 3 instead of rounding down to 2. We went in on a Sunday afternoon without a reservation, but were hoping for the best. The hostess said it would be a 30 minute wait, which we were more than okay with, so we just walked around for a bit. We actually got seated 10 minutes early which was great! But it was downhill from there. The hostess who sat us had menus in her hand, but never gave them to us. This is okay because we just looked up the menu online. Another couple was seated next to us, and again they were not given menus. After 5 minutes, the couple received menus from the waiter, but we still did not get anything. We did pick out what we wanted from reading the menu online. Another 5 minutes go by and the waiter took the other couple's order and then FINALLY gave us menus. We tried to tell him we were ready to order but he disappeared so fast. ANOTHER 5 minutes go by and he comes back with a drink menu. This time we said we're ready to order drinks, apps, and food right now. So we did. Everything came out extremely slow. I understand that is it a Sunday afternoon, but I could see the tables that the waiter had and could see the bar tender making the drinks. Once we were done eating, we waited about 20 minutes before the waiter brought over the check. The couple that was seated after us received their food first and paid and left all before we were given our check. On top of not good service, the food was definitely over priced. The food and drinks were good, but nothing to rave about/spectacular. We spent way too much time and way too much money to get Sunday brunch here.

Yelp
BEWARE - People with ALLERGIES!! Went with my child who has nut allergies. Told 3 time about the allergies (cross contamination OK). They brought out baked goods WITH nuts. When pointed out, the waiter checked twice with the manager and insisted there were no nuts. I finally took a nut out to show it to them. Kitchen finally confirmed - it HAD nuts. I m so glad I did not let my child eat the baked good. Would have spent better part of the weekend in MGH ER!

Yelp
Very expensive (19$) tiny breakfast sandwich (mediocre) with no bacon (6$ upcharge). 85 characters

Yanni P.

Yelp
I ordered a cappuccino and a white chocolate latte which came out decently fast. The prices were okay. However, the espresso in my cappuccino was either under extracted or the beans were not great, leading to a sour acrid taste. The white chocolate latte was way too sweet which over powered the coffee. The employees were nice and the restaurant was clean. Brick street bagels shares the other half of the kitchen and the bagels are delicious!!

Yelp
We had reservations so we got right in to a cozy high top table in the back. The brunch was very good. I got the smoked salmon & scrambled eggs. The smoked salmon was not mixed into the eggs, rather on the side, which I prefer, and there was so much salmon...very generous amount. It also came with a choice of potatoes or greens. I got the greens, which was excellent with the salmon. My daughter had the brioche breakfast sandwich with the potatoes on the side. It looked amazing. We also both had mocktails, which were refreshing and delicious. Service was great. Small, slightly odd thing...the bathroom required a passcode to get into...had to ask a waiter for the code. Would definitely go back.

Yelp
Welp, here I am. I finally made a Yelp account. Made reservations for dinner and were the only ones seated in the freezing upstairs cafe. I'd rather spend $30 for a meal at one of the million surrounding restaurants than be forced to watch every SINGLE customer try to open the front door, get confused because it says the place is closed, then have to figure out how to get into the building a different way. Weird vibe all around. Food was aight. PLEASE, FOR THE LOVE OF GOD, GET A NEW BATHROOM SINK, I STOOD THERE FOR FIVE MINUTES WITH SOAPY HANDS TRYING TO FIGURE OUT HOW TO TURN THE STUPID THING ON

Jane D.

Yelp
I'm not really sure why this place doesn't have 4+ stars. The food was good, service was nice, outdoors area was really cute, and it was all a great experience for me. I actually came here twice in one day on accident (didn't realize this was where a friend picked for brunch) and did a takeout order early in the morning. I had the BLT, matcha latte with oat milk. Then I got the pecorino truffle fries, the kale salad, and the iced tea. The BLT was great with some nice thick cut bacon. Bread was tasty! Highlight of my visit were those fries though - a little thicker and more potato-ey than my usual fry choice, but every single one was wonderfully crispy.

Jackie M.

Yelp
I really wanted to love this, because I am a huge fan of French pastries. I popped in on my morning walk to try a croissant, and unfortunately I'm underwhelmed. The almond croissant is overbaked so it has a crust that makes it very brittle and not too fun to snack on. While almond croissants are usually made from day-old croissants and revitalized with an almond paste inside and almonds on top, this one seems to have been re-baked?? It's just very dry and crunchy which is not at all the chewy flaky goodness I was hoping for. The shop itself is very quaint and has a cute little street corner with a patio. I've seen it during brunch times and it's very popular and has a good ambiance, so maybe something is different with the food. Sadly for the price ($6!!!) and the texture, I'm not impressed on the pastry and probably won't stop in again on a walk.

Nicole L.

Yelp
yeah just not that great. went for brunch and got the turkey burger which was pretty dry and lacking in flavor. supposed to come with avocado but the spread was absolutely lacking. pancakes were nothing special at all. plain tasting saved by syrup... over priced! service pretty slow and the matcha was like 10 dollars

Lynne P.

Yelp
Friendly staff. Delicious bagel with smoked salmon and huge cookies. Sat in the peaceful back room.

Jenny T.

Yelp
This place is DELICIOUS. I got the smoked salmon w/ eggs (came with home fries & mixed greens), which was a solid 11/10. Came here with 3 other friends who all loved their meals too - everyone spoke super highly of their food! I got an iced coffee and it was DELICIOUS - strong, refreshing, perfectly brewed. My friends also got lattes and LOVED their lattes as well (we're all coffee critiques haha). Only thing is this place was EXPENSIVE. Portion size was good though! The restaurant is cute and in a super pretty area of the South End, service was really good as well (waitress was really nice and despite it being her third day, she was so good). Overall, good brunch though!

Tori M.

Yelp
We had an incredible dinner at South End Buttery. The apps and entrees were delicious, and the cocktails were fabulous. The highlight of the night was definitely our waiter Luis. He epitomizes "service with a smile" and provided superior service (and some laughs) throughout our entire meal. Kudos to South End Buttery for an excellent Boston dining experience!

Roann A.

Yelp
The food is ! The ricotta fritters = 10/10 The buttery breakfast with a side of home fries = 10/10 The Mumbai mule = 10/10 Love the fire place downstairs! It is a smaller space, so things can get a little tight.. It took a little while for my friend and I to get a waiter, and that was a tad bit annoying... I will most definitely be back!

Kristi C.

Yelp
Enjoyed brunch here while in Boston. Service was great and food was amazing as well. We got there early which was a good thing because it got crowded quick! Great food!

S. Darlene K.

Yelp
I went to the South End Buttery located at 314 Shawmut Avenue in the South End of Boston for more delicious food. Last night was the first time I tried this restaurant. Anyway, this morning I ordered the Vegan Chocolate Walnut Cookie (which is HUGE!) and the Buttery Country Biscuit: buttermilk biscuit, scrambled egg, aged cheddar and bacon. Let me just say that biting into that cookie was heaven. As for the biscuit, it was just the way I like it. And everything else in between the biscuit was great, too. Give this restaurant a try. You can't go wrong with any of their menu items.

Nour N.

Yelp
Went there for brunch, the servers and hosts are rude and not accommodating at all. Got the smoked salmon and eggs, it was good but extremely overpriced (this alone was $25 without coffee or tax).

Mike C.

Yelp
The food is not what it used to be. I ordered fish & chips m, and the beer batter wasn't it. My party ordered scrambled eggs that were wet & gooey. Also, their price hike is ridiculous, I definitely won't be coming back here again, and I used to really like this place.

Henry L.

Yelp
Great coffee, great service, unfortunately a very disappointing (though cheap) raw chocolate chip cookie.

Marianne X.

Yelp
Friendly staff and delicious food :) To give a 5 stars I would need them to lower their price a bit. Besides that, it's all good!

Mrs A.

Yelp
The food and service here is fabulous! My family came to celebrate my husband's birthday. We could not have had a better evening. The food was delicious, even our three kids were impressed with the options and their dishes (and they are not easy to please)! The ambience was elegant and although we were at the restaurant in the summer and ate outside, the inside was just as beautiful with a fireplace for when the weather turns colder. We loved everything so much, we even picked up muffins and scones for breakfast! I will definitely come back to the South End buttery!

Meg C.

Yelp
I come here biweekly to brunch on the weekends and always get the ham benedict. Make reservations ahead, although be warned it's $25 if you cancel last min or no show on your CC. Eggs are poached perfectly, no runny whites and the yolk is just a bit more liquidy than a jammy egg, so it doesn't create too much of a mess. I like the added touch of melting gruyere in between the ham. The hollandaise is really good with the biscuit, although sometimes I ask for a bit more hollandaise, as the biscuit is pretty dry. This is a rich meal and usually fills me on its own, but if I'm feeling extra hungry I get the potatoes because they are salted well, and crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. Why it's 3 stars: My friend had the huevos rancheros recently and it was really bland and not a lot of food, so I think items can be hit or miss. The bloody mary is okay, nothing special and the coffee comes in a to go cup which I'm not really a fan of when dining in - part of the allure of brunch for me is luxuriating in a fresh cup of coffee in a mug that gets topped off with a warmer throughout my meal. Service is very minimal and not very friendly, I'm not sure if it's because I'm usually dining alone, but I've never been asked how my meal is or if I need anything during my meal and I come here at least twice a month. They do check in with larger parties. So I have to flag the server if I want something, which is annoying, they tend to forget the cream for my coffee. Regardless, this is my favorite Benedict in Boston so I'll keep coming back.

Chris C.

Yelp
Way overpriced , $11.00 for a small container of overnight oats is ridiculous . At those prices you should have the prices posted on or at the location of the items .

Jason C.

Yelp
Food, service, price for the quality. We got there and sat downstairs which was a nice ambiance, but other than that was quite disappointed

Kristen A.

Yelp
Excellent coffee and the best almond croissant that I've ever had. Other baked good we got were also great. We only came for early morning coffee and treats. Have not tried the lunch or dinner yet.

Shuang Z.

Yelp
This review only applies to catering food: We got egg biscuit sandwich with various fillings: ham, bacon, and avocado. The eggs are buttery, but the biscuit are very dry and but buttery or flaky at all. Def a 3/5 breakfast sandwich. The various scones are good tho: I liked the chive cheddar savory scone. The cinnamon one is overly sweet tho. Banana walnut muffins are good, but nothing really gave me an wow effector. I probably won't come into the real store just to have brunch based on previous reviews about this place.

Jonathan C.

Yelp
Got an iced Expresso. Good stuff. If I hadn't already eaten, I would have tried a ham and cheese croissant. I guess I'll be back because they're on the same street as formaggio kitchen!

Nikola M.

Yelp
Good food! Service was kinda slow but that's alright. Food felt a little expensive for what it was, but like that's brunch in general I guess. Cold brew super acidic. Our waitress Love was awesome tho! So nice and helpful

Avery T.

Yelp
The kale/brussel sprout salad had no flavor. It was just greens and oil. Was not impressed by the cocktails either. Overall, a letdown.

Tyler L.

Yelp
Don't get the avocado toast! It's terribly small, overpriced, and underwhelming. The rest of the food here is also very average and pretentiously expensive. On the other hand, the service was kind and fast and the atmosphere was nice. I just wouldn't really come here for food.

Graham P.

Yelp
Usually a big fan of this spot and tell friends to come here as a rec often. We had reservations today, and when we arrived they didn't have them in the system. Understandable mistake, but instead of offering us a table on say 20 minutes they just pointed to open times over an hour later. My group felt that the service was lacking in terms of effort made. Ended up at brunch somewhere else

James B.

Yelp
If you're on the hunt for a brunch spot that will transport you to a whimsical wonderland, the South End Buttery is a must-visit! From the moment you step onto the quiet side street, you'll feel like you've discovered a secret spot that only the cool kids know about. My first date experience here was straight out of a rom-com - we didn't have a reservation, but the staff were absolute heroes and found us a spot. We kicked things off with the fritters smothered in Nutella, which were so divine they should be illegal. And let's not forget about the Western Omelette, a true masterpiece of breakfast goodness. But the real star of the show? The brunch cocktails! The options are endless and each one is more delicious than the last. And if you're lucky, you might just find yourself on the receiving end of some free drinks from the friendly bartender. The service was impeccable - they made us feel like we were the only ones in the restaurant, despite a few other groups waiting for tables. And when our food arrived, we were floored by the freshness and quality of every bite. We couldn't resist going back for more on a lazy Friday morning, and the vegetarian chili and Union Park sandwich did not disappoint. What sets the South End Buttery apart is the combination of impeccable service, original menu items, and a playful, whimsical atmosphere that will make you feel like you're living in a fairy tale. It's no wonder it's become one of Boston's most beloved brunch spots - and a personal favorite of mine!

Yelp
If given the option, I would give this restaurant a 0 star review, Two weeks ago, I was in town visiting family when everyone decided they'd like to meet up for breakfast. Having eaten at the Buttery before, I suggested we make reservations there because it was our last morning in Boston, and the food at the Buttery had never let me down. I got reservations for 11:45 am, and we were there by 11:30 am. Because we arrived early, we decided to get coffee (4 of them) and have our coffee outside since it was a beautiful day out. We placed our order with a very nice girl at the register and waited for our order to be called. You should know that the girl who took my order never asked for my name, so I kept listening for our order to be called out. At one point, one of the items in my order was called out, a hot caramel latte, so I walked over to the barista making the coffee and asked if that was my order. She immediately responded with a curt, "I don't know. Is this what you ordered?" I said, "Yes." And she said, "Then this is your order." I asked her where the other things in the order were and she rolled her eyes and said, "These two coffees are the only things in the order." I said, "Oh, okay, then this must not be our order." I asked her if our order would be out soon and she said, "What's your name?" I gave her my name but told her that the order would likely not have my name because the first girl never asked for it. She said she didn't know what to tell me, so I walked over to the register and asked another girl about our order. She went into the register and pulled up our order and said it would be out soon. I thanked the girl for being helpful and patient and the other barista, the one who had rolled her eyes at me, started laughing and said, "Oh, well that's amusing." I looked at her and she shook her head at me. I went to get napkins, and she started to talk to everyone behind the counter about me. I walked over to her and told her that she shouldn't be so miserable and that if she didn't like her job or helping people, she should just leave. She laughed out loud and continued to make comments, but I just went back outside with my family to wait to be called. My daughter, who went back in for some water, said the woman was still talking about everything when she went back in. My family was finally called inside but were seated in the very back of the restaurant where the AC wasn't working because the windows and doors were wide open. It must have been 100 degrees back there. My sister, who was sweating profusely, asked if the AC could be turned up, but they said that the door needed to stay open for outside service. Nothing was done to help with the cooling of that back room for our entire meal. After about thirty minutes, a server finally walked over and asked if we wanted water or drinks, so he brought us those and an order of fries, but after that one server, no one steady person attended us at our table. About 15 minutes later, a woman came over to take our order. We waited for an hour with no request for additional drinks or apologies for the long wait. I eventually went over and asked if there was an estimate for when the food would be served, since it had been so long. In the end, we waited an hour in the heat to get our eggs, had no server asking if they could bring us anything and what's worse, we had to be the ones to get our own water at a nearby water station. So anytime someone in my family got thirsty, I stood up to get them water. The whole experience was a mess. While it was not my first time at the Buttery, it was the first time for my sister, niece and daughters, and I was so embarrassed by the way everything turned out. From the start with our coffees, the heat, the wait for the food, the lack of attention once seated, having to be our own servers, and later, having to go up to ask for our bill, the whole thing was unpleasant. I honestly believe our family had been punished for speaking out against the first very unhappy barista, and think it was extremely unprofessional of the South End Buttery to dismiss our whole party. All of this being said, I will no longer be patronizing at this business or recommending anyone to potentially have the same awful and embarrassing experience that I did at the South End Buttery.

Yelp
This is such a quaint little bakery/ restaurant hidden but not so hidden in the South End. A friend was visiting from Miami where her boss who visits Boston often recommended this cafe to her and it was my first time hearing of it so we decided to make it an experience. We had a reservation for 10:45am yesterday on Labor Day and boy was it packed. So many to go orders as well as all the tables inside and outside were full/ reserved. It was a lovely day out so I'm glad we got a table outside. I was hungover so I didn't have much of an appetite so I got a small latte with oatmilk. It was my first time having oatmilk in my coffee and it was so good! Usually I have to add sugar to my lattes but this didn't need it (unless it was already added from inside). Anywho I also had some of the fruit bowl and a blueberry scone. I only ate half of each because of my lack of appetite. It came with a jam and cream cheese spreads which went with it well. I took the rest home to have for breakfast today. I hope to come back to experience their dinner after seeing the yelp photos and dinner menu! Also beware of nature's little pollen distributors aka bees with the pure maple syrup! My friend was getting unwanted attraction on her plate thanks to it haha.

Satoe S.

Yelp
Came here with some friends on Saturday for brunch. The place is a little confusing because they have two areas for seating and one is just for the cafe and one is for the restaurant. This is like an elevated iHop. The pancakes are fluffier more filling. The bacon seems like it's a little less super crispy. They don't have cholula, only Tabasco, which was a little sad. The best part of this place I think is the home fries. The soft boiled and smashed potatoes have a really nice crisp on the outside but is soft on the inside. A friend recommended them with a side of Hollandaise sauce, which was delicious. They have really good sauce! Nice place for brunch and a little stroll around the neighborhood.

Jessica P.

Yelp
Met friends here for after work dinner. Cute location. Fast service. Drinks were really good! Appetizer were flavorful. Everyone enjoyed their entree. I had the shrimp and pasta dish. Great taste and presentation. Perfect amount. A friend had the half chicken which was juicy.

Candy M.

Yelp
This place is tucked into a quiet neighborhood. It is very busy for a Saturday morning. I stopped in for breakfast. It is a cozy space. The small issue I had is that all drinks are served in a to go cups while the water is served in a glass. I had to make my own Chai tea at the table which was strange. I was brought cold Chai tea in one cup and hot milk in another. She said you have to mix yourself. I told her the drink was warm, she then stated she can bring more hot milk. The waitress stated they don't have the capacity to make Chai tea. Which is strange because they were bring mixed lattes and other hot drinks to other guests. Anyway I ordered the butterscotch scone and the steak/eggs. For a small Bistro feel spot the food was surprisingly good.

Yelp
Absolutely LOVED our brunch here! what an adorable neighborhood spot! Delicious eggs benedict - never seen eggs poached so perfectly! Loved the active coffee/danish area upon entering this place. Downstairs was so cozy with fun music and great service! Thank you, I'll be back!

Yelp
Went to the South End Buttery with a couple friends for brunch. We were seated in the basement, which was a bit disappointing, as upstairs looked so cute. One additional comment about our table is that our waitress couldn't hear us well, and accidentally put in one of our orders for the wrong dish. She was very apologetic when it came out incorrectly and quickly replaced the meal with the correct thing, but I truly think it was because she couldn't hear us well as it was loud next to the kitchen. Otherwise, the cocktails we got (white sangria, classic mimosa, and Bloody Mary) were all really great, and the food was good too! It wasn't an outstanding brunch, but I would recommend for a cute, casual meal!

Yelp
Disappointing Host aka 'Ye' Showed up exactly on time for our reservation. Not a table was occupied. Strang but the Host sat us in the corner at the bar. When we confirmed with Jaden, the host, that we have a table reservation and wanted that so we could all speak to one another, as we've met from out of town, he/she stated that the tables were for other guests that have not arrived yet. I mentioned we have a table reservation, and we are on time. They turned their back to us with the ignore button on. We finished 90 minutes later, as we left, none of the tables were ever filled. We felt targeted by this young person.
