Google
Our experience here was incredible. Wasn’t sure what to expect, but ended up petting and feeding baby dairy cows. But their Ice Cream is literally the best any of us had ever tasted! Recommend making reservation in advance to bottle feed the baby cows. But even if you don’t, you get to walk through the barn and pet the babies. One was born the day we went!

Google
South Mountain Creamery is on the Maryland ice cream trail. This is my first visit and it did not disappoint. Hand batch ice cream made in their Chambersburg, PA location is dipped here. Scrumptious! They milk and bottle their fresh milk here on site so you can pick up a half gallon or two when you stop for delicious ice cream. You won’t regret the beautiful drive for this ice cream!

Melissa C.

Google
I loved petting the cows and the calves. They have 2 miniature highland cows that are adorable as well. You can feed the babies, which I got to see but didn't participate in, and even get some yummy ice cream from their store. They have multiple things for sale made from the milk there and they even sell dog treats. Overall I look forward to going back when I'm in the area.

Sarah M.

Google
The ice cream was so good. I got cookies and cream. The waffle cone wasn't great though. The cows are so beautiful here and very well taken care of. They all have very clean pens. This has been my favorite place like this.

Google
The milk was so good and the beef sticks were the best I have ever had!! The staff is so amazing, they are simply wonderful!! I love the calfs, you can feed them. Also maternity center was just so cute!! Plan on going back ASAP!! I just returned and if you haven’t been by, it is a must! I just bought some cheese that is ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS and salted butter! The almond butter is amazing, this place just keeps getting more and more amazing!

Google
South Mountain Creamery is one of our favorite new spots we found for a family outing. The ice cream alone is worth the trip—rich, creamy, and full of flavor. They have a wide variety to choose from, but the vanilla is hands-down the best. It tastes like sweet cream - simple but absolutely delicious. Beyond the ice cream, there’s a lot to do here, especially if you have kids. You can watch baby calves being bottle-fed, pet them, and even feed them yourself. There’s also a “maternity ward” where you can see the big cows, which is pretty cool and educational. They also have a large playground with swings and cornhole, so the kids can run around while you relax. The little store on-site sells farm-fresh eggs, milk, cheese, and a handful of other local products. It’s nice to pick up a few things on your way out, but even if you don’t buy anything, it’s a great (and free) place to spend a couple of hours. It’s peaceful, family-friendly, and just a wholesome way to enjoy a day outdoors. Definitely a 5-star experience.

Google
Wonderful hosts for a dairy convention I just attended. These guys are on point on know their stuff. Incredible family team. Big place that does it all. Calf to cow to glass bottle to your doorstep. They grow the feed too! Stop on in, or sign up for home delivery.

Sarah H.

Google
This is my favorite place to go when I need baby cow therapy. The calves are kind and welcoming. The staff at the shop very hospitable and helpful. The ice cream and milk? Delightful! Can't wait to visit again 💗

Yelp
Two friends and I went on Sunday evening after a day of hiking. This place exceeded expectations! We had so much fun trying ice cream flavors and left with many pints and other treats from the store. Sophie was a delight and made the experience unforgettable!

Yelp
South Mountain Creamery has served the community for over two decades providing farm fresh produce and meats, carefully procured and in partnerships with local sources. I still remember taking road trips to get their ice cream! Keeping up with the needs and evolving, I can't tell you how awesome it is that they have wavered through the times. I especially love coming on the farm for their seasonal products. Be it a pint of their creamiest ice cream for the drive home, or fresh off the vine fruits and baked goods, all year around this family owned farm is worth the trip. Be sure to check out their Moo Membership and information about their efforts on sustainability and environmental impact with state's Department of Agriculture.

Yelp
4 Stars - Great Products I placed my first order, intending to subscribe regularly, but customer service took some time. I did head back today and got the credit I needed as well as information to make new orders. I would say to the cons that be very careful on ordering one time vs recurring visa website and I would forgo fruits and veggies as they get those someplace else and they aren't great. Pros: Excellent eggs, bacon, and cheese. The chicken breast was great, and I'll be trying the ground beef soon. The milk and cream remain unopened (I'll get to it soon) and liked the yogurt. However, the lettuce was wilted, and the fruit and vegetables were just okay (per my cons at the top). Also on the pros, when I got a call back today on my issues, they were great. It's wonderful to have glass bottles for cream and milk if you are like me and trying to limit plastic. I'll be reordering.

Yelp
Wow! Amazing ice cream with a great experience. If you have young kids, this is a must! Only $7 to do the feeding experience and the ice cream is so good! The host staff was super nice and answered all our questions. It is all outdoors so dress accordingly.
google avatar

Sharon H.

Yelp
I will say that their single scoops are huge, especially for $4.25. I would recommend getting just an ice cream because the cow pie (with the donut), while is a good sweet treat, is a bit too ordinary. Stick with the classics here! Getting one of those and walking around the goat and calf farms makes for a really good afternoon experience. The main point of this trip was to try the social media viral cream top, which is basically when whole milk is not homogenized and a creamy, fatty top of milk settles on the top. It's hard to find in regular stores. Overall, it's a bit overhyped and a bit too creamy, but still good to try at least once. Really quick service and a fun afternoon activity.

Yelp
Fabulous icecream. Snallygaster flavor was amazing. we enjoyed watching the cows travelling from one building to another as we sat at our picnic table.
google avatar

Yelp
We have been here a couple of times. It's an awesome venue. All of the staff were very friendly and welcoming. They have a store where they sell dairy products. Very good stuff. We went this time for the Easter egg hunt. We had a great time. This is a working farm, so it all outdoors. The views are outstanding. I will absolutely go back. They have a lot of great events. Check them out!
google avatar

Josephine Y.

Yelp
I was hoping to participate in the Easter Egg Hunt that was advertised online to run until 4 PM. However, shortly after 3 PM, a gentleman informed my family member they were already "done for the day." It was disappointing, especially since we had planned our visit around that event. As for the market, the prices were comparable to what you'd find at a regular grocery store like Wegman's--nothing particularly unique or better value.

Khloe K.

Yelp
So much fun to visit! We had a great afternoon. They let you pet the calf's in the baby barn
google avatar

Yelp
Great farm to visit with family and friends. Easy to navigate to. There were clear signs on the road. They had goats, calves, and pregnant cows to visit. Porta potties were available. Nice little shop for all your ice cream needs. Plenty of parking available. I loved the blueberry cheesecake and grasshopper ice cream flavors. The strawberry milkshake was divine. They also had a freezer chest of various frozen meats for sale. The staff were extremely helpful and nice. Plenty of outdoor picnic tables to enjoy your treats. Definitely worth stopping by!

Yelp
Where else can you grab a great ice cream cone and then hang out with cows? Look no further! South Mountain Creamery has got you. It's a bit of a ride out to Middletown, but the rolling hills, peaceful cows and delicious ice cream make it all worthwhile. I'm partial to the peach ice cream, but they have a full complement of flavors on display. Note that weekends in the summer can get a bit crowded, so plan accordingly and be polite to the staff. Speaking of the staff, everyone is friendly and courteous. They're happy to let you have as many tastes as you want before you arrive at your scoop decision. Once you get your frozen treat, I suggest taking a stroll to the calf barn to see all the cute newborn cows. It makes the ice cream taste even better! If you're so inclined, you can also partake of the wide variety of additional dairy products that they have on offer. All produced on site with milk from the aforementioned cows. Where else can a trip for ice cream turn into a delightful afternoon. Highly recommend!!!

Yelp
Absolutely love stopping here when in northern Maryland or southern Pennsylvania. It's fun to see the animals well cared for especially the cow scratching wheel. Fantastic ice cream and dairy products. As for ambiance, I've stopped here in winter and sat outside eating a double scoop cone.
google avatar

Yelp
If I was limited to only 1 scoop, SNALLYGASTER is all I would get. WOW! They had available probably 75% of ice cream flavors they produce. Apple Pie was good as was the pumpkin-snap. Great service from the crew but the young man this evening was extremely accommodating. What a great spot. It would be nice if they had seating indoors and bathrooms vs. the spotapot stench. Regardless, SMC maybe the best ice cream out there.

Yelp
We arrived just before closing to this farm in the middle of nowhere. It is quaint with a cool looking museum type attraction nearby but we simply went to try the ice cream. The girl was friendly and attentive with her service and the ice cream was delicious. Definitely will have their ice cream again.

Alexander Q.

Yelp
Literally the best ice cream I've ever had. It is incredibly fresh and creamy, and you can pet the cows afterwards. My favorite ice cream spot

Yelp
My family stopped by here after walking in the park. Ice cream taste really nice, and it's affordable too they have generous servings. Staff are very accomodating and they have fast service. The place is nice too. I love my experience here, they have plenty of tables inside.

Yelp
We loved it! The ice cream was delicious, scoopers were singing/having so much fun, and the play area was perfect for our youngest. We'll totally come back!

Yelp
We've been enjoying dairy deliveries (and sometimes more) from SMC almost since the lockdown began. Supporting local businesses was important to us, and it seemed right to at least try them. So good! My daughter buys their honey-roasted peanut butter and we often just snag a spoonful since it "lives" on the kitchen counter. Their milk and cream are always delicious. We've tried some cheeses - yum. DD loves the Cajun crab dip. Not all of the items they offer for delivery (and in their little store on site) are made by them, but all are locally sourced. I've lost track of everything we've tried from their delivery service, but I believe a turkey last year, and a few boxes of farm-fresh veggies are included. We do get milk and cream every week, and then DD adds whatever strikes her fancy as she reviews the weekly order and specials. We drove out today for their Spring Festival. It was definitely geared more toward younger kids than my grandkids and a friend. They got bored pretty quickly, but that's typical at their ages ;) The biggest hit was watching baby animals (calves, pigs, sheep) and you could interact with them a little - if they cared to do anything but sleep, lol. It was a longish drive for us so we probably won't do it again, but we are thankful for their home delivery. Check out their website!

Yelp
I was surprised while shopping at my neighborhood supermarket to find Fresh Chocolate Milk from South mountain creamery, I just had try it and my children loved it however after a few bottles piling up it wasn't sold there anymore, my question is where can return my empty bottles? (IDEAL SUPERMARKET).
google avatar

Yelp
What an amazing experience! I took my kids there on a Sunday and it did not disappoint. The farm is very spacious and open allowing patrons to observe the dairy process and they have a section just for the calves that you can walk through and pet. Of course we had to get some ice cream, I recommend the cookie butter. It's the creamiest ice cream you'll ever have.

Yelp
Attended the corn maze crawl last night, over 21 event. Such a great time!!! Was a fun date night for hubby and me. Food, alcohol, live band, challenging maze, animals to ohhh over, bon fire and ice cream. Going to be hard to top that for us going forward!!!

Troy F.

Yelp
Recently discovered u can order items and have them delivered to your front door. I ordered fresh eggs, chocolate milk, and vanilla bean yogurt...all very fresh and worth it....

Yelp
What a fun place to spend the morning with the kids! It truly is a trip to the country. The only downside is that you do have a cross the street to get from the ice cream shop over to the playground. But what a playground! Our kids adored all of the slides and things to climb and swings. Not to mention all the large trucks they could play with that were set out All around. There's also corn hole for the adults and a nice shaded patio with picnic tables. I could see an enormous field of sunflowers and it apparently opens very soon! I think my daughter absolutely loved visiting the baby cows. The baby cow barn is right next to the playground and she kept going back there over and over! The cows are pretty darn cute! Back to the other side of the street where we parked and we investigated the ice cream shop. Each kid got their own scoop while us adults got chocolate milk and pints to take home. A friend had recently brought me a pint of the peanut butter pie which was absolutely delicious! Peanut butter ice cream with little chunks of chocolate and chunks of piecrust. This time, I decided to try the smelly gaster and the grasshopper. I can't wait to do again at home!

Yelp
*****Home delivery review***** I've heard some many good things about South Mountain Creamery that I decided to check out their home delivery and order items for our Thanksgiving meal, as well as some dairy products. Prices were definitely reasonable (especially the price of a fresh turkey!) and really enjoyed the quality and freshness of everything we ordered. We enjoyed everything so much that we signed up for their $100 Moo Membership, we comes with no delivery fees for an entire year ($4.99 delivery fee unless you spend a certain amount) and special discounts and offers. For their home deliveries, I like how you could set up to order items on a recurring basis (weekly, biweekly, once a month). I took advantage of this feature and have their strawberry/chocolate milk come biweekly, and their lemonade and the SMC double (essentially the SMC version of an Arnold Palmer) come on a weekly basis. I've also been ordering their ice cream box (4 pints for $26), which is often once/month. Other items I've enjoyed are the black forest ham, cheese, jerky (original and spicy), and honey. I really like how SMC makes their own dairy products and sells other products from local farmers. I can definitely see myself being a Moo Member for awhile. I'm looking forward to trying out the meats, meals from Hometown Harvest Kitchen, and their veggie/fruit boxes some time in the near future! *****Review of Karen's Kountry Store***** Was in the area and SMC wasn't too far away, so decided to check out the Kountry Store for some ice cream. Plenty of parking is available. When we got there, there was a small line (only 6 people in the store at once), but moved fairly quickly. Once inside, they had dairy products, meats, baked goods, beverages, and ice cream (pints and fresh in the case) for purchase. I can't believe how affordable the ice cream scoops were! Got two (huge) scoops and a waffle cone for about $5! I tried the dirt road (chocolate mixed with I forgot, but so good!) and blueberry cheesecake (actually tasted like blueberry cheesecake!). Wow. Both were so good. You could tell the ingredients used to make the ice cream was fresh and good quality. The waffle cone was legit as well! If you are in the area, I highly recommend stopping by for some ice cream or a milk shake!

Yelp
South mountain creamery is always so much fun! I have attended several events here including their corn maze and cow feeding. The cow feeding is so much fun for every age! The farm fresh store has many tasty treats including the best ice cream. The staff is always friendly and welcoming.

Yelp
This is now my go to place to bring visitors! I brought a friend here who tasked me with doing something "Fredericky". We arrived early for the calve feeding session and settled onto the bench with some cups of ice cream. My parents owned their own ice cream shop when I was a child, and needless to say I am quite the ice cream connoisseur at this point. Their ice cream passed my taste test and beyond! I will be back for ice cream for sure. Next we fed the calves across the street. Definitely purchase tickets ahead of time because we went on a Monday and it was still sold out. We had such a great time! We even got to name two calves after our cats, Cannoli and Luna. This experience gave me so much serotonin!
google avatar

Beth G.

Yelp
I've cream is amazing. Pricey but so worth it the kiddos can feed the calves but make sure to go online and book calve feeding

Joy C.

Yelp
We have been getting delivery from South Mountain for several years now, and have been generally satisfied with the products (milk, eggs, etc). This week I ordered some produce items from their "online store". I placed several produce items in my cart and got a notification that I had to place a minimum of $22 for produce to be delivered. I emailed them and told them that the items that I put in my cart were all that I needed. Then they answered the following: " just wanted to let you know that if you see a notification on your account about not meeting the $22 minimum for produce, it simply means that we require a full produce bag to be delivered to our valued customers. Don't worry, we're here to help and make sure you get the most out of your order!" Who came up with that? That makes absolutely no sense. Why should I order something I don't want! Imagine going in a grocery store to get some tomatoes and onions and then being told you have to spend more to meet their "requirements" It's insane and I am seriously thinking about canceling my membership.

Colin P.

Yelp
The milk is beautifully fresh and the produce and meats are fantastic! Buying local has never been easier!
google avatar

Doug L.

Yelp
Great place to stop by and grab some iced cream, tour the viewing areas they offer, or buy some of their other offerings. I have stopped by a few times for iced cream while in the area and they have some of the best iced cream around with a lot of flavor choices!! There are times posted to view milking or calf feeding, I have never seen it but it looks interesting if you get here at the right times. They offer milk in glass bottles that comes from the cows on the farm surrounding the store area. They also offer eggs and some other dairy farm items. Great place to plan a trip to or stop on your way by!!
google avatar

Stephanie D.

Yelp
For the quality of their ice cream and the value, 5 stars! Two scoops of ice cream really means around 4 scoops(!), and it was $4.25. I love ordering seasonal flavors, so I got pumpkin and gingerbread cookie. Gingerbread cookie was SO good with gingerbread cookie chunks. We also purchased a pint of Egg Nog ice cream to take home. A pint was $4.25, which I thought was a good deal. There are tables outdoors to enjoy your ice cream. Bathrooms are porta-potties. There's an outdoor sink with antibacterial soap. The cows are nearby! I enjoyed seeing them up close, it's been so long since I've seen cows (not counting seeing them from a car). I also highly recommend their seasonal egg nog. I first discovered it at a local co-op in Frederick last year. When I didn't see it at the store this year, I went online and ordered a delivery of a half gallon bottle of egg nog, which was a bit expensive after delivery and bottle deposit fees, but it was worth it!

Cathy B.

Yelp
We are getting ready to cancel our membership with South Mountain Creamery for more than one reason. Reason 1) is: most of the items we would like to order are almost always out of stock 2): South Mountain Creamery has charged us 6 times (in one day) for merchandise we never ordered and never received. I've called them and they tell me they will get back with me - but they don't and continue to ignore me. I've emailed the company and have been ignored by the person named: "Caleb". He is useless. This service is horrible.

Michael M.

Yelp
What an amazing day! My 72yo kid had more fun than anyone feeding her calf. Watching the other actual kids is always heartwarming. The calf feeding was well organized and the leader's explanation of what to do and what to expect were spot on. And the ice cream! OMG THE ICE CREAM WAS FANTASTIC!
google avatar

Matthew E.

Yelp
Best ice cream around. Also, we get their Cream on Top milk delivered and it is truly amazing. Love this place. Highly recommended. We've tried their meats as well and it's always high quality.

Yelp
So happy to revisit my previous Yelp review to give credit where credit is due. Updating a computer program that interacts with the community is almost never seamless and usually presents problems that impact the business. I am so happy that SMC's updated computer system has resolved the issues within one week's time...and deliveries are accurate, timely and delivered by a very pleasant and professional delivery person that takes full credit for the issues and apologizes for the confusion, but assured us that all is on track again at the farm! Loving the new website and additional options available with the update.

Kathleen M.

Yelp
Great afternoon with the kids. Ice cream was amazing and it was nice to get away and do something different
google avatar

Barbara K.

Yelp
I started ordering from them years ago and have spend thousands of dollars with them, before they became a "big agro event focused entity". I moved from one location to another and was told they did not deliver to my new address. So I gave away my South Mountain branded milk cooler. They were wrong. I saw other coolers in the neighborhood. They were also still intent on delivering to a house I know longer lived in (and of course my credit card was on file). They never responded to my multiple emails. I called numerous times too. I think now that they are the Disney of farming they use a call center. Eventually I got to a manager who stopped the deliveries to my old address though that is still in the TBD category. I asked for a new cooler free since I gave away my other one based on their wrong info. No, they said. The leadership team decided I could not get a replacement at no cost. However, they were happy to sell me one. So it goes.

Yelp
South Mountain Creamery is the perfect half day trip if you have kids. Here's why: 1) Location: It's hard to believe it's only a one hour drive from Washington, D.C. because it's solidly in the country. It's not just a marketing gig, it's really on a farm! 2) Premise: It's large and more than just a little shop that sells ice cream (there are tables outside the shop to enjoy your dessert). Every day at 4pm, you can help them feed the baby calves (kids will love it!). Next to the cow barn is an old McDonald's play area (they painted it a cow theme). 3) Parking: There's plenty of it and it's free. 4) Shop: It's very country and it's awesome! They sell over a dozen flavors of homemade ice cream in addition to milk, yogurt, eggs, etc. We bought the whole milk and it may be the BEST milk we've every had. The ice cream itself is good, but I wouldn't put it in the top five ice cream of all time (Trickling Springs is much better!). Overall, it was an excellent trip! If you want a little excursion, drive to South Mountain Creamery.
google avatar

Manish C.

Yelp
I love local dairies/creameries, so when searching for ice cream in the Frederick, MD area, Yelp reviews intrigued me enough to venture out to South Mountain Creamery. It's very much a scenic drive through rural areas to get to this farm. There was ample parking adjacent to the store. The sun was out and it was hot at the time of my visit, so none of the cows were out. I had the single serving which is more 2 scoops, and you can try more than one flavor. I went with the cookies & cream (with cookie dough) and the coconut (with almonds). While the cookies & cream (4/5) had a solid, creamy texture and good taste, the coconut (2.5/5) had a different consistency, with almost a sweet cream kind of flavor. I've had much better coconut ice cream, and the sweet cream taste didn't hit the right notes with me, especially in the same cup as the rich and creamy cookies & cream. I have no regrets about my Stone Mountain Creamery excursion, but even if I was a local, I wouldn't venture out there again just for ice cream since I didn't feel it was "drive out of the way" quality. They sell other farm fresh dairy products, so maybe that's the major appeal. The seating area just outside the shop was majorly infested with flying bugs (I think large bees), which was really off-putting. I understand it's a farm, but for a place frequented by customers, it was a lot of insects...you'd think the owners would put a little effort into making the entrance and small seating area immediately outside the shop insect free. The employees in the shop were friendly, but declined to let us enjoy ice cream indoors even in the absence of other customers, and asked us to exit despite having expressed some apprehension about all the bugs flying around outside. All in all, the owners can do better in making their business more welcoming by building a small space protected from farm smells & insects given many people come there for ice cream.

Yelp
Absolutely terrible experience. I would give them negative stars if I could. I got forced into their delivery service after Oberwise left and after two months have NEVER had a fully successful delivery. They charged me for a delivery I never got then sent me some picture of a random porch that wasn't even close to mine. They promised me store credit then a promotional credit for a few weeks all of which NEVER HAPPENED. A month later they still haven't refunded me or provided ANY store credits. One of their customer service reps apologized and admitted it was there fault the other (Sierra) is absolutely terrible. I have emails, pictures chat conversations absolutely none of that evidence matters to them. Not so much as an apology for the mix up no admittance of there mistakes and inability to actually deliver to me wont actually issue me a refund claiming it was applied to some other order (which doesn't even line up with their order schedule for my area) completely unwilling to work with me. After looking through their reviews its quite clear I'm not the only one with these problems. I'll probably be forced to go through my bank to get my money back because I continue to get the run around. DONT USE THEM YOU'LL REGRET IT!! Buy your milk in glass bottles from your local whole foods you can get the same products for cheaper.

Raphael K.

Yelp
Their milk is as good as store brand but their cus service is terrible. First the over billed me $600+ then would only refund half the amount. Then claimed my account was past due when they had already charged my account. after all that they couldn't even acknowledge their errors. moving on to a company that actually cares about service.
google avatar

Kenya G.

Yelp
Well I should start off by saying the seasonal pumpkin cheesecake ice cream taste just like pumpkin pie and I should of bought a whole carton of it. The creamery is a huge dairy farm that looked to have hundreds of cows. They even had the milking station right in the front near the ice cream shop which, beware, led to an awful smell going in. The shop front is tiny with just a double ice cream counter and a small cashier station along with 2 coolers filled with milk and pints of ice cream. We actually realized that it is the same milk we buy from the Dutch market, which I found pretty cool. There was definitely a nice selection of ice cream to choose from including a seasonal flavor. If you are ever near the area I suggest stopping in for a treat - whether that be the ice cream or just seeing the cows :)

Yelp
they screwed me again, they just deducted $43.89 from my bank account. i am so sick and tired of this company, appears that they like to rip you off rather than take care of their customers. someone named ag had the unmitigated gall to say that the charge on my bank statement was from oberweiss, the company who sold out to south mountain. i can read a bank statement and it clearly showed deductions totaling $43.89. i finally talked to someone in customer service and am now on hold waiting to talk to accounts. this is an awful company

Yelp
South Mountain Creamery is like extended family to me. My husband and I have been customers for several years and became Moo Members when the program started last year. It is important to me to support small, local businesses that value communities and sustainability. South Mountain Creamery provides great products and continues to expand their co-op to an extent that it is like having a local farmer's market delivered to your door every week. I really appreciate their communication and customer service. Their drivers are also great and I love getting a Christmas card from them every year...shout out to Kenny, I'm glad he delivers to my neighborhood every week. We have also visited the farm and Harvest Kitchen restaurant...loved them both. My husband grew up on a dairy farm and was very impressed by their operation. Love being able to pet the cows! Thanks for everything. :-)

Yelp
This review is for the delivery service. In our house we love South Mountain Creamery's products, but their delivery service took a major nosedive at the end of 2023, even more so after they "updated" their website. We had been using them since 2020; their service was reliable and their customer service was excellent: we could email or call and receive immediate help. Our delivery schedule changed at the end of 2023; we used to order eggs but without fail every single time at least half of the dozen eggs would be cracked. It was like the new driver was throwing them into our cooler. I would have to email every week to get a refund for the cracked eggs. With the website change, we stopped receiving email responses entirely, so we stopped getting our eggs from South Mountain. One week we received NO order at all (none of our regular items were delivered), and were still charged. I called and emailed numerous times, was told they would "look into it" but never received an explanation nor refund. Then the problems with the orders started: every single week, there would be an item randomly missing from our regular order...which was only 3 items by that point: 2 chocolate milks and a lemonade. That's it. That's all we were ordering. We added bakery items for Valentines, were charged for the items but received none of the bakery items we had put on our order. I received no response when I emailed customer service. It is incredibly sad that what used to be one of our favorite local businesses + services has gone downhill to such a degree in such a short period of time. If they ever fix the current issues, we might sign up for delivery again, but it doesn't seem like South Mountain is interested in correcting the existing problems. I do NOT recommend their delivery service at ALL, unless you like paying for items you don't receive.

Yelp
Unfortunately my first experience with South Mountain wasn't good. I was thinking of placing an order and added 2 items to my cart so that I could see what the cost would be for delivery. I never hit 'submit' for the order. Next thing I know, I get a text message that the order was delivered. I called and spoke with someone who didn't seem to care. Bad business practice. It's a shame, as I liked the idea of fresh milk and eggs.

Yelp
This review is for home delivery. We are so disappointed that this company took over from Oberweis. We were long term, very satisfied Oberweis customers. South Mountain prices are ridiculously higher and they do not waive delivery fees with a minimum purchase. We have cancelled our service and will now purchase Oberweis products in the grocery story.
