It’s not often that I indulge in ice cream—but when I do, it has to be truly exceptional. This past summer, I finally visited for the first time after hearing about it for years from my husband, who grew up coming here and has visited more times than he can count. I’m happy to say it more than lived up to its reputation.
This charming spot is tucked away in Middletown and absolutely worth the drive. Parking is easy and convenient, with a gravel lot located directly across from the shop. Inside, you’ll find much more than just ice cream. Along with their delicious scoops, they offer a wonderful assortment of farm-fresh goods, including milk straight from the farm (2%, whole, skim, chocolate, buttermilk, and half & half), bee pollen, creamed honey, fresh bread, apple butter, and even adorable plush stuffed animals.
Their ice cream flavors rotate seasonally based on availability and demand, which makes every visit feel special. My husband’s longtime favorite is the Red Velvet, while I chose Dirt Road and Mint Two—both classic flavors executed perfectly and incredibly satisfying.
Across the street, there’s a small barn where you can see the cows. Tickets to feed them can be purchased online, but they sell out quickly and are often booked for the entire summer, so it’s best to plan ahead. It’s a fantastic, family-friendly experience and one I highly recommend.
The staff is consistently friendly and welcoming, always happy to offer samples so you can find the perfect flavor. There’s also a handwashing station outside, along with plenty of picnic tables if you’d like to sit and enjoy your ice cream before heading over to see the cows—or you can simply grab and go.
From the quality of the ice cream to the thoughtful details and warm service, this place delivers a memorable experience every time.
