A Sunday ritual under the trees at Forest Hill Park, this producer-only market anchors the city’s local food scene. Frequently lauded by Virginia Living and highlighted by Axios for state gold-level standards, it’s where Richmond shops year-round for real Virginia goods.

Lots of parking is available, dogs on leash welcome and plenty of options to shop! Coffee, food and treats are available! There is a great selection of fresh produce, flowers, meat, baked goods, jewelry and various items/art for sale. There was also live music and shade available.

At least on Father’s Day, it was a little small. You can buy coffee from five different vendors can’t figure out why some vendors have long lines and don’t but the coolest vendor was a person giving out free books. Lots of good music.

Great produce, chicken, and Cronuts!!!! Hog Haven Farm’s Breakfast sandwich only gave you one piece of bacon and one egg on the $12 sandwich. Very disappointed, I thought it would be a hardier meal for over $16.97 including tax and tip.

This market has a good selection of fresh produce at reasonable prices. Lots of food vendors as well, and it wasn't too crowded when we went at noon on a Sunday. Sat under a tree and enjoyed some light jazz.

Great market with more than just vegetables. This market has a variety of soaps, salts, breads, vegetables, eggs, meats, dog items, food trucks offering vegan/vegetarian options, as well as regular fare, and even offers a Christmas Market during the holiday season. If you haven't been - go. Unlike other farmer's markets in the area, South of the James Market is open year round. The market is dog friendly (be sure they are leashed) and there is plenty here to please the whole family.

This is a great Farmers Market, you can find everything you can imagine, from vegetables to clothes to jewelry and more. The produce is fresh and tasty and you get to learn about a lot of local farms. There is live music and pets are welcome. You can eat at the food trucks and there is free parking. It closes at noon, so it is best to get there early. Forest Hill Park is awesome as well, so you can spend an entire morning here and it is totally worth it.

This market has everything--beautiful local produce, fresh cut flowers the likes of which you've never seen, jewelry vendors, food trucks, so much to list! Did I mention food trucks? So many different ones to choose from, any taste would be satisfied. Excellent musicians to set the mood, doggos galore--a great way to spend your Saturday morning in Richmond. Come hungry, leave loaded.

Very cool, and busy market. Our kids loved the Yoder's donuts cart, and we bought some delicious sausages. It was crowded, but very organized. Great time!
