"Business at the front, party at the back: that’s the ethos behind this hotel, which opened in London ’s financial district in 2012. Weekdays, the clientele in the lobby bar and brasserie is all business, the conversation a gentle hum of meetings. But the hotel has a lively side. On weekends, a young, fashionable crowd from nearby Shoreditch and the ever-growing tech center Silicon Roundabout comes for the DJs that regularly include big names such as Ricardo Villalobos. Owners D&D London—the city’s leading hospitability group and brains behind such restaurants as Coq d’Argent—have made food the focus of their first hotel. Within one year of opening, the top-floor, fish-focused restaurant, Angler, already had a Michelin star. And then there’s the art. Sir Terence Conran’s design firm created modern interiors accented with pop-art prints, full-wall installations, and playful sculptures, many created by British artists living and working in the area."

Amazing hotel - from the entrance to the luxurious Junior Suite this Hotel is classy but 'cool' It's location is central & 2mins from the tube. The bathroom in this suite was incredible with the biggest shower space we have ever seen!|Comfy bed, impeccably tidy throughout.|If we had the money we'd be regulars!!! 😉|The staff were attentive & very helpful.|A special 'nod' to 'Hugh' on reception. If only all hotel staff were as charming & polite as him! |This hotel deserves its 5*'s!!

The South Place Hotel had a dark luxurious vibe. Vegan soaps with a faux grass blanket on the bed brought the outdoors to the room. We appreciated the location of the outlets and wireless charging pad built into the computer pad. All the staff were kind and accommodating. The towels were oversized and perfect! The robes weren’t as soft as expected, but still comfortable. The bath was splendid, with options for a rainwater style shower, bath, or removable sprayer. We ordered room service for breakfast, we both had the English Breakfast, his was traditional, mine was vegan, both quite satisfying.

This hotel was amazing. Extremely quiet, the staff was welcoming and wonderful. Larger than usual hotel rooms for London. Loved the blackout curtains in the room. My room was cleaned properly everyday. The bathroom was amazing with a speaker for music while you take a shower. The location was perfect with the Liverpool St and the Moorgate stations both being a 3-5 min walk away. There's a Marks and Spencer right across the street if you need anything at all. For sure going to stay here again. Best hotel experience I've had anywhere in the world.

I love to come to stay at South place hotel, staff is amazing specially Daria which made sure everything was perfect for our stay. The bar staff Alton from Portugal (not sure how to write it) was amazing at serving us and very friendly. ||We will always choose this place for a gateway, beds are amazing!!! And location is just so good to commute to central.

My wife and I were married here in April of 2025, and it was honestly only through the hard work of the events team at the hotel that it was all possible. From the moment we met our event planners, Nikola and Sharif, we knew we were in safe hands. They are two of the most professional and organised people we could have asked for and the work they did to make our day a reality was truly above and beyond. Both of them went above and beyond the call of duty to make sure our day went off without a hitch and both were always available to us no matter what we needed. As for the day itself – the staff were exceptional from minute 1. They were polite, courteous and handled anything the day threw at them. Everyone, together, made our day the happiest we could have asked for. We cannot recommend the South Place Hotel enough. All of our guests from our wedding walked away talking about how incredible it is, from the rooms to the event itself. If you ever get the chance to hold an event at the South Place Hotel, do not hesitate.

My partner and I visited London back in March and we had an amazing stay. The team had upgraded our room with my partner attending her graduation, and left a small present and letter to congratulate her. They were awesome at recommending local interests and the rooftop bar was also great. Will 100% be staying again.

such a lovely hotel and very clean. Had the pleasure of staying in the Junior suite which was lovely. Came to south place to celebrate me and my friends birthday and the hotel set the room up with cards and ballon, which we loved! Staff were friendly and helpful. Thank you to Daria and Simona for making my stay so special.

Had to change my room as was directly opposite the stair door. People just their doors bang instead of shutting them. So infuriating and unnecessary. Manager was very nice and changed my room immediately. Great location.

Yelp
This is a wonderful hotel. It's right at the center of London, you can find hundreds of commuters getting to work in the morning and by the evening you'll find the streets filled with party goers. The hotel itself is absolutely beautiful. It is clean and pet friendly. The rooms were quite large and so was the bathroom. There is a private bar in the 1st floor which can be reserved for smaller gatherings. There's also a bar and a restaurant in the ground floor. I ordered breakfast twice and the food was delicious. Checkin/checkout process was fast and straightforward, the staff is also nice and friendly. It's very close to the train station and about 10-15min walking distance from St Pauls Cathedral. I totally loved this place, would definitely recommend staying here.

Yelp
My friend hosted her birthday brunch yesterday for about 20 people with a time a lot of 2:45-4:45. My one star is just because my chilled pea soup and sweet potato rosti main was very good. I also had a fab time with my friend and her friends despite the foul ups. The problems with the staff started almost from the very beginning. I would say most people were seated by around 3:10pm but at this time the prosecco bottles for the bottomless mimosas still hadn't arrived. My friend's friends had to start inquiring and bottles were finally placed on the table about 3:30. At this point, for those who had ordered, STILL hadn't gotten our appetizers. Waiters told us "it's coming, it's coming." At this point the restaurant wasn't even that crowded so I'm flabbergasted as to what the holdup was and can only attribute to incompetence. The staff also did.not.seem.to.understand the basic instructions on getting multiple carafes of water for our side of the table; rather they kept refilling the same carafe which obviously went quickly among six women on my side of the table!!! Rather we kept getting carafes of juice, which of course cost something. Cheeky eh? When our mains arrived, about 4:15pm or so there were also issues. My rosti was lukewarm and the woman across from me had a burnt burger bun and her burger was cold, as was the friend across from her. I saw a waiter take it away and make a scowling face in the back with his other colleagues (a tall, blond guy) which is outrageous considering YOUR kitchen is messing up! With the delayed start, one of the waiters had the audacity to try to stop the bottomless aspect right at 4:45 but thankfully some friends explained and the bottomless brunch continued. However, with all these delays, my friend lost her rooftop bar reservation slot. This is just another indicator of the rubbish (I would say much stronger words here if I could) "service" this establishment offers as my friend was penalized for the restaurant screwups. Desserts also arrived much later. My friend had a surprise birthday cake. When it came to pay, a sweet but what I can only think of as an incompetent young woman (brunette, slim, ponytail and accent) gave my friend the bill, which was quite confusing. My friend gritted her teeth and explained she had given the restaurant a spreadsheet with everyone's costs broken down and could she please use that. The dim server seemed very confused. In the end, my friend somehow ended up paying £80 or so worth of service charge when she should have paid far less for the appalling service. South Hotel, shame on you. This is another reminder to me, as a US expat, how AWFUL service can be in this country and you get away with it. Manager should have come over to apologize profusely to us at some point and given significant discounts off the bill. I'm going to make sure to post this all over so that more people don't make the mistake my friend did. I very rarely write reviews this terrible but this is well-deserved.

Yelp
My husband and I were staying in London and had to be in the City for an evening. We chose South Place Hotel because it looked cool, had a convenient location, and was dog friendly. Location: Pretty central in the City area. Arrival: The arrival was a bit confusing because my driver dropped me off on the restaurant side. When I entered through the restaurant, you have to walk through a hallway to get to the other side where reception is. Note, the hotel entrance is around the corner from the restaurant. Parking: N/A - we did not drive. Reception/Front Desk: Super friendly upon arrival and departure. Lobby: It's not very big, but cozy. Room: The room was very nice, clean, and functional. View: We had views of an office. Not so romantic but then again you are in the City so what can you expect. Bed: Very comfy! Bathroom: Very nice and the bathtub was fabulous! Hair dryer: Good normal hair dryer which could be found in the drawer. Products: Heeley products which are great! Coffee Maker: No coffee maker in the room. Closet: Nice closet. Safe: Normal safe. Control Panel: Very cool control panels on the wall which controlled the lights, shades, etc. Minibar: Standard mini bar. Mirrors: One very large mirror next to the bed. Housekeeping: Fine. Wifi: Good. Dining: They have two dining options - the rooftop which has a Michelin star restaurant and terrace and their more casual ground floor restaurant and bar. Spa/Gym/Pool: We were on property for less than 24 hours so we didn't get to experience any of the facilities. Concierge: Very helpful. I had a document to print and emailed it over to the concierge. She printed and had it ready very quickly. Style: Very hip. Service: Overall the service is good and everyone on the property I encountered was extremely friendly. Other: They have a very cute garden on the 1st floor which is worth having a look and a drink. Dog Friendly? Yes! They provided a bed, toy and dog bowls. Would I go back? Yes, if I had to stay in the City again.

Yelp
Wonderful location if you work in London. The hotel itself is very nice, and the restaurants are good. The rooms are extremely nice, and they have blackout blinds. Staff is fantastic as well Very responsive and proactive. So why 3 stars? Well the housekeeping is always opening and closing doors and it's extremely loud. They normally start at 7 or 8, hence you cannot sleep in at all. The doors themselves are just so loud you hear everything in the halls. It's very odd considering this is a new building (2014).

Yelp
Absolutely incredible. This review is long overdue. My husband and I stayed here the last night of our honeymoon. We always talk about how this was our favorite hotel of the entire trip. South Place went above and beyond to make our honeymoon special. From the moment we booked the hotel they made sure we were taken care of by reaching out to see if we need any reservations booked during our stay. When we arrived the receptionist walked us to our room and gave us a tour of the room. What made our stay even more special was that my husband emailed them the day before to see if they had afternoon tea at the hotel. They responded back saying that they did not have that on their menu, to which we responded - no problem at all! When we showed up to our room they had set up a special afternoon tea for us - everything that you would imagine (scones, clotted cream, jam, sandwiches, pastries, EVERYTHING). They even included champagne and balloons! I know they must have gone out of their way to put this together for us, and truly is such a memorable part of our trip. The hotel room was extravagant with a beautiful bath tub, bluetooth speakers around the room, dual shower head, robes, mini bar, AMAZING! We want to go back to London just for this hotel!

Yelp
Unique, well-priced hotel with outstanding staff. The downstairs bar and chop house restaurant were immediately bustling when I walked in. I was quickly greeted by staff and the bell hop. I was early to check in, but my room was surprisingly ready. I was taken on a tour of the hotel and loved all the interesting art along the way. The room was modern and I liked the lighting features. The turn down service was a nice touch and every room service I ordered came right on time and well above my expectations. The rest of the hotel is lovely as well. Beautiful bar downstairs, with a Michelin Star restaurant upstairs. The gym is well-equipped if you need it, and there are tons of nearby bars and restaurants. The only thing I would say is the location isn't the best if you want to be smack dab in the middle of the city. However, that was really nice because the area was quiet on the weekends. Perfect hotel, loved every minute there!

Yelp
One of the best hotels I've stayed so far in terms of stylish, tech-filled, awesome soft beds and the staff were really nice as well. After being shown our room by a staff member who explained all the funky tech panels around (and how their electric blinds work), I smiled when I saw a hand-written card. It reminded me of The Mandarin Oriental in Tokyo. The bathroom we had in our room was huge, it was fitted as a disabled bathroom and everything in the is stylish. Stone floors, marble sink and top and walls. Even bottles of hotel shampoos and conditional, etc. were big! Back in the bedroom, the safe was big enough for a 15" laptop and can be charged while stored in there. Erm, there's also a shiney toaster in the wardrobe, which is a first for me. Their fancy egg shaped chairs are so comfy. The office desk area has all the ports and nice stationary. In the evening, they turn down the bed and placed slippers out for us. All the lights were set at ambient levels with blinds closed. Our own toiletries were all neatly arranged on the counter too. :-) Again, sort of like MO. I like hotels like this as it's not like other stuff and "classical" looking hotels. Plus all the small things like hand-written card, making room feel welcome after a day of walking is just nice. I really recommend this hotel.

Yelp
Wasn't expecting an early check in. They were able to accommodate. Rooms are up to date clean and the bathroom state of the art ( rainfall shower head, tub to fit a king in, heated towel rack, bath towels as big as a robe). WiFi is awesome fast never dropped no blocking from ISP. Every need was tended to including the room upgrade at no charge. Rollendens that are automatic to encase the room in darkness when needed a major plus. Centrally located for all Zone 1 transportation. 4 minute stroll to underground. Classy business financial district. No complaints we will return.

Yelp
I absolutely love this place! It could easily be a private members club It has everything that's needed (I hope they don't hear me :P Large bar and restaurant on the grand floor (3south place) Winter garden on the first floor, where you can smoke cigars they even sell them at the bar, just go through the bar/ restaurant take the lift to the 1st floor, it's the glass door outside the lifts, just go in there straight to the bar, don't ask, if you ask they know you are a newbie and might tell you to go downstairs where newbies are ha * On the same floor they have a room that looks like a living room very cosy lovely has its own bar, next to it another room with a pool table to show your skills, same as the garden just get in sit make yourself comfortable and wait for the waiter to come and serve you*, own it' :) *unless they have a private event which in that case they will let you know' And on the 6th floor probably my fav a lovely roof top bar Angler a French restaurant And of course the hotel What a lovely place this is they really did a great job and they tend to attract the right crowd too so all they are waiting for is you :)

Yelp
Found this hotel's restaurant on a list of "best London Sunday brunches with bottomless drinks" and it absolutely did not fail to disappoint. The menu had a choice between a la carte, two courses, or three courses, all fairly reasonably priced for a London brunch. My friend and I went for the three course menu expecting standard small courses and were pleasantly surprised by the amount of food we received; neither of was able to finish our third course. However, the best part was easily the "bottomless" part. For £15, you got "legit" bottomless mimosas, bellinis, or prosecco. You could switch between them as much as you wanted, and our waiter did a fantastic job of keeping us topped up, often before we even asked. Compared to many times before where restaurants have tried to limit their supposedly "bottomless" brunches, this was a fantastic experience. Our waiter even asked if we wanted to take a break between our second and third course for fifteen minutes or so, in order to get some more drinks (we obviously accepted). They even had live music going the whole time. Outstanding Sunday brunch for groups; I definitely plan to return and recommend to anyone who likes a solid bottomless brunch. Definitely got my money's worth.

Yelp
Love this place. It's a complete city experience. Staff is great, music hipster trendy, cocktails over priced but the wine list is now tan fair and mini burgers tasty.

Yelp
I couldn't say enough of the experience at this hotel. The staff is incredible, the ambience is amazing, the pricing incredibly reasonable, and the amenities plentiful. Would recommend to anyone coming to London for business or pleasure.

Yelp
I absolutely love this hotel. I stayed there for three weeks while in London working like a crazy person. This hotel was a joy to return to at the end of the day. It was a very stressful time and a long enough period that the charms of a lesser hotel would have worn out completely after three weeks, but I was incredibly happy with my home-away-from-home until the end. The room was pristine, modern, cozy, gorgeous with every convenience plus the little extra touches to make you feel really spoiled (eg, a control panel for different lighting modes next to the bed that adjust all the lights in the room depending on time of day, reading, sleeping, etc). I indulged in room service for breakfast everyday - delicious, on a simple and elegant tray, always served promptly at the requested hour by one of the many very kind members of staff. The desk chair (Saarisen style executive chair) and egg reading chair were so comfortable and stylish that I have been looking for similar chairs for my new home. The only downside for me was the lack of a nice view out of my window - concrete jungle. I usually kept the electric shutter completely shut at night and half open in the morning to let the light in and avoid the rest. But the other conveniences and indulgences far outweighed that issue. Basically, I'm borderline obsessed with this place and would love to go back for a vacation (not work!) and enjoy its proximity to the sights.

Yelp
This place is pricey but you get what you pay for! A luxury hotel in London where there's actually space to move around in your room? Yes please! That's rare in London. The food is great, the staff is awesome. I stayed here for 5 nights but I luckily had hotel credits otherwise could only probably afford maybe 2-3 nights on my own. But the quality of what you get is the price you pay. From the nespresso machine in the room to the toaster and the stocked mini fridge and the large toiletries, the automated control panel to work the room, and the comfortable bed. It's all worth it. I was disappointed the secret bar was closed my first 3 nights for private events (and was told to leave) and tonight was closed because it was "slow" even though they hyped this bar up and was excited about it...looks like out of the 5 nights here I won't even get to use it. I feel like they should at least have one weekend day where guests can get to enjoy it since that's one of the perks but I get it being from the business, a buy out is way more money than guests flowing through. Sucks but maybe next time I'm in town!

Yelp
Great service and awesome vibes during the South Place Hotel's bottomless Bellini brunch. I've never had such great muesli and the butterscotch waffles are insanely awesome. Plus, rivers of Prosecco, Bellini and Mimosa. What more could you want?

Yelp
Beautiful hotel and friendly staff. Very accommodating to the guests. Rooms come equipped with a toaster, coffee press and electric kettle. Room service food is okay in terms of flavor. Kitchen is open 24 hours. BEWARE - There is a construction site across the street from the hotel. Drilling is very heavy and loud and begins at 8 AM. Noise may be heard very clearly in the room. Please note we stayed during the last two weeks of February 2014.

Yelp
Stayed here for the last few days we were in London. Place was super clean and modern. Service was the best. Bed was super comfortable. Room was big for London. Next time I return to London, I am booking my stay here for the entire trip.

Yelp
Okay, so, this is a sexy hotel. No other way to describe it. Rooms are richly yet minimalisticlly appointed, the bathroom and tubs are exquisite, and the smart technology room controls make setting up your perfect environment easy. My travels keep me hotel-bound almost 75% of the year and this hotel was easily in my top 5...ever. Enough said.

Yelp
If you're looking for luxury a few minutes walk away from the City, then South Place Hotel would be the place for you, whether it's a meal to leave you so full up you need to roll home, or a comfy king size bed to rest your head after a busy days work. Having only opened its door yesterday, Monday 3rd September, South Place Hotel had everything running smoothly without any hick ups. The restaurant staff had their serving skills perfected, and were there for your every need. The hotel staff were smartly dressed and their rooms were incredibly calming filled with quintessentially British bathroom wear, drinks and art work. The bar staff hidden out in the secret garden had a great wealth of cocktail knowledge, and kept the delicious cucumber flowing whilst making our cocktail decision. The meal was divine, having an all day menu of comfort food and afternoon tea also available, there is something for everyone's taste buds. The triple cooked chips were crispy on the outside, and fluffy on the inner, the burger was juicy but cooked just as I asked, and the bacon chop was fully devoured. The Restaurant Manager, Sam was on hand to ensure everyone was more than happy with their food. If you're lucky enough to stay, which I would highly recommend, then the saunas, gym and games room are open twenty four hours, and are home to state of the art technology. South Place Hotel have certainly upped the game when it comes to inner city staying and dinning, with incredible architecture, outstanding design and impeccably trained staff. I would whole heartily recommend you check this place out!

Yelp
Fab afternoon spent at this beaut of a place in London Town. Girlie catch up with my oldest chums, whilst enjoying the amazing free flow fizz and divine lunch menu. I was a bit sceptical about this free flow fizz concept (not sure this has caught on in Manchester yet?) but boy was it worth the £15 price tag (for endless Prosecco whilst dining). Service, food and endless supply of fizz with fun and laughter, made a great mix for a wonderful day. Already booked my next visit!

Yelp
Although I prefer to stay in Mayfair when visiting London, I don't ever mind staying at the South Place as it's convenient to my office and I have always had exceptional service. The concierge Burak makes my stay great every single time. He and I bonded over my lack of sense of direction one day (I got lost going to my office, which is literally down the street) and ever since this interaction we became fast friends. He helps me with everything from booking dinners, massages, etc and always ensures that my stay is amazing. Special treatments like this aside, the service at South Place is really superior. I like the hotel as it's small enough to have a boutique-y feel but avoids that B&B feel that I tend to cringe at. The rooms are large and brightly furnished with Jonathan Alder-like motifs that make you feel like you are staying in your cool older graphic designer cousin's Chelsea apartment. I love the suite bathrooms and bath products as well- nice quality all around. Overall- a five star experience every time for me. If you need a hotel in the finance district you can't do wrong with South Place.

Yelp
I went here last night to try out 3 Spice Place. I had visited the Angler on the top floor of this hotel just two weeks back which proved to be soooo good I wanted to try out another place within the same building. Their website really reeled me in. "Our menu of authentic, Indian home cooking has been created by 3 South Place Chef, Maheshwaran, inspired by his family's recipes." Authentic Indian food - I was excited! We were first served bread and butter which we thought was weird when we were having indian food. The pappadams came with the starters - we had the lamb kebab and tandoori salmon which were succulent and cooked well with just the right amount of spices but a tad too much salt. Disappointingly there were no nice chutneys to go with the pappadams. We had expected authentic Indian food as per the website so we were excited for our mains which we ordered the chicken Bhuna and fish curry. I had also informed the waiter that we would like it to be more spicy. I don't know if this message ever got passed on to the chef, although I noticed some thin slices of red pepper strewn on top of the mains. The mains were both Disappointingly non-spicy, watery and salty. I have Never tasted a curry with that much water and tasteless fish in my life! The chicken bhuna was bland, at best. Burnt chappatis anyone?! The only savior to the meal was the mushroom fried rice which actually tasted very unique and fried to perfection. The service was mixed. The main waiter was casual and nonchalant but the gentleman who served me wine was very polite and helpful. The hostess looked bored throughout the night. I was too disappointed with the food to really care. We called it an early night and went home. I would avoid coming back for the Indian menu and would head straight to Angler when visiting the South Place hotel!

Yelp
I stayed at this hotel last night with my partner, and it was the best experience I've ever had. Staff are friendly and attentive, and the rooms are of a beautiful minimalist design. Gorgeous, large bathtub, fully-stocked minibar, huge, soft bed, surround sound system, and blackout curtains that go up and down at the touch of a button! As soon as we arrived, the desk staff were eager to help with anything we needed and offered complimentary tea/coffee that was delivered to our room in silver teapots with fabulous presentation. There was even a little christmas cake baked that morning, waiting for us on the table! We missed dinner at the hotel, but as room service is 24 hours, we still managed to have a lovely, ample-portioned dinner brought up. Service continued to be friendly and warm from start to finish. The only downside was that some construction happened to be going on across the street that morning, but it was nothing that ruined our stay. Overall, I wholeheartedly recommend this hotel to anyone in the Moorgate area. The station is only about 3 minutes walk away, and the area is wonderful.

Yelp
I stayed here Jan 6-8 and I loved it. Great hotel very comfortable beds and twin beds were available if you're traveling with a friend. Very cool esthetic but also comfortable. Its on the east side of London if you want to stay in a good area but maybe not in the busiest tourist area. Its also within walking distance of the Liverpool station. The restaurant just received a Michelin star. I wish we could have eaten there but it was close and we left the morning it re-opened. I guess that's a downside to traveling internationally during the off-season. I did hear a lot of locals hit the bar lounge area. I saw pretty people but with only 2 days in London we were anxious to be out in other parts of the city. The only reason I didn't give this hotel a 5 star was because my flight was cancelled during the first week of January US Northeast storms that shut down JFK. Upon calling Travelocity and then the hotel, they both confirmed that South Place would not credit us that night. Large hotels would understand that if flights are cancelled they would credit the flight but that is one downside of using a boutique hotel so international travelers during sketchy weather with flight risks might want to book another hotel. My friend and I caught another flight the next day and after emails and conversations with the hotel, they moved our Sun night reservation to Wed night because we wanted to stay in London another night. The hotel was quick to let us know then remind us a couple times that while they'll do this favor for us this time, its not normal practice.

Yelp
I went to the restaurant/bar downstairs. The waiters were really nice. The environment is great to go with friends. It was a Thursday night and they had a DJ playing. A bit noisy, but it was more of a relaxing evening. The food was really good. For appetizer, I suggest the mini hot dogs.

Yelp
great place, good valve and the bubbles is flowing for the time you are there. Our glass was never empty before being topped up. It was worth every penny. Menu choice was great as well. Great starters but unusual. We also tried the Cocktail tablet and cocktail... very unusual but good fun, your taste buds do change. Very nice atmosphere as well
