Very nice place. The wines are great and so is the food. Lots of outside seating and people were bringing their own chairs to sit out on the big lawn (good for kids and dogs) to listen to live music. Definitely a fun place to just come and hang out for a while.

We visited this winery today with our good friends who are having a big birthday party here in June. We needed to get some ideas of the setup and where we can hang decorations. Of course, we had to try the wines and food! We ordered a small charcuterie board a grilled cheese sandwich, margerita pizza, caprese and a cheese burger it was all delicious and we're so looking forward to the party when we get to eat all of this food again!!! The folks that work/ own/ run the place are wonderful! There was an awesome band playing outside, but it was just too hot for our group to be out there. They sounded excellent, though, right up my alley!! As we were leaving, the band was playing a Scorpions song, Here I am, Rock you like a hurricane!!! Lol, I loved it!!!

South Slope is a very quaint and lovely winery that has excellent service and friendly staff. The environment feels like visiting a good friends house where you can kick off your shoes and settle into a cozy blanket and have a glass of tasty wine. So happy I was lucky enough to visit. Thank you for having me!!

Google
South slopes is awesome! Their pizzas are super flavorful we tried literally every single one of them. The large charcuterie board was well rounded with sweet and salty. We had an amazing Sunday Funday. As we were leaving they had live music just getting started. I’m sure this place does it right all day on the weekends! The outside areas has plenty of shade for large groups! We will definitely be returning!!!

Google
First time coming here, and I was glad I did. The food and wine is absolutely amazing, and everyone there took such amazing care of myself and friends and family. I advise having the wine slushy! So yummy and taste delicious! This will definitely be a new spot for me!

Google
I was here yesterday, Friday the 13th and enjoyed the live band. I don't drink alcohol, but my friends love their wine and special mention to the wine slushy. My review is for the place. It's beautiful, expected dirt road parking, horse post, country games, well trimmed grass, matured trees, picnic tables, and more. The wine tasting area is clean, restrooms are clean, and staff are amazingly friendly. There was a food truck last night. The place don't serve food, but you can bring your own. Buy their wine and hang out. Beautiful place.

Google
Amazing people great wine and location. First time there and as soon as we walked in they put down 2 glasses and started pouring and telling us about the wine and jokes about putting the location together. Then next thing I know I became a member and my glass was never empty. Genuinely good people that give their guests an amazing experience with wine and laughter. I will be going back, probably every weekend. Also they have food trucks every weekend and live music that is pretty good.

Yelp
A little hidden gem! I love coming here and winding down with a glass of wine after work. Myles and all the staff here are awesome! Maddie and Sammi always take care of me. The food is soooo good! My favorite is the burrata.

Yelp
We really liked this place. The vibes are really chill. There is plenty of parking. There are several 2 and 4 seat high top tables with a bigger 8 seat high top inside. There is a lot of outdoor seating - many picnic tables and a few of them are covered which is nice. Lot of grass space - kids were throwing baseballs around and playing corn hole. Plenty of shade and space to bring your own chairs as well. I did a wine tasting for $20 (which I thought was pretty steep considering the pours were extremely small). I tried a Brut Sparkling, Chardonnay, Reserve Zin and Reserve Cab. All were pretty good. If you buy a bottle, they wave $10 off the tasting, so I did buy a bottle of the Reserve Zin. Maddie was very friendly. We really came to have the Potters BBQ pop up and it was delicious. We will be back if we are ever in the area.

Yelp
Came with a group for trivia night (I believe Wednesdays?) and I loved how low key it was. Located off Grant Line, the tables are just far enough from the main road where you don't hear/notice the cars passing, which I thought was going to kill the vibe. Pizza was yummy - it was supposed to incl arugula, but they were out Wine slushies - delicious and not too sweet. They top them off with more wine which is *chefs kiss* Parking lot is on gravel and most of the grounds is on grass so girls be mindful of your shoe choices

Yelp
My Wife and I came to have a few glasses of wine and listen to live music. Upon entering We were greeted by Miles the owner and his staff. Their welcoming smiles and warm greeting made my wife and I feel like Family. They had a 4 Cheese Hamburger special that tasted sooooooo Amazing!!! It was a special and I hope it would be added to the menu because this would definitely sell. South Slope is a Diamond in the rough. Great Job South Slope!!

Yelp
We came here Saturday around 2pm. It was busy but we were still served right away. The boys got a bottle to sit outside to enjoy while us girls stayed inside the tasting room to do our wine tasting. $15 for 4 wines. Wine pours were small. Wines were just ok. Dog and family friendly. Lots of outdoor seating and less seating inside tasting room. Barbera- not good Reserve cab- sweet , bolder Tempranillo- bland Chardonnay- sweet Sauv blanc- ok

Yelp
Ambiance: This is a very relaxing and rustic environment. There is plenty of green space to layout a blanket and enjoy the nice weather and a glass of their wines. Service: The staff here are knowledgeable and friendly. They truly want you to enjoy your experience. Food: Their wood-fire pizza is really good and plentiful. I decided to try this place because of the comedy event they had going Saturday evening. Just wish the comedy was as good as everything else. Oh well- that's why it's free. This is a great place to meet up with friends and enjoy good food and wines.

Yelp
I wasn't aware there were wineries in Elk Grove and happened upon South Slope. They are dog friendly, which I always appreciate, and everyone was very friendly. Seems I showed up on a day were a few of us were there for the first time. The space is great. It was a great day to sit outside and there was lots of outdoor seating. Even though it is located on a corner of two busy streets, the noise was minimal. I enjoyed my tastings. The Bubbly Rose and the Syrah were my favorite. Will definitely be back to try more wines and the food.
google avatar

Maya R.

Yelp
They have a great selection of food, my favorite is the wood fire pizza & wine slushy. The food comes out pretty fast and it's never a long wait. I love where it's located, very small town vibe. Cute decor, great indoor, and outdoor seating.

Yelp
Came here for trivia night on Thursday- we had a blast!! Thank you to Maddy who was our amazing server.

Yelp
Out of way winery off Sheldon Road indoor and outdoor seating games, food, and wine what more could you ask for ? Tonight Zach performed old school rap to Beatles ballads. Great spot for a family picnic or just a few glasses of vino. Come check out this small business.

Yelp
Came with a group of 12 adults and five children. Good menu, family friendly, good service. Will definitely be back.

Yelp
Cute local winery! Stopped in for a quick tasting - it's a cute venue. Very rustic and definitely has some character. Wine was fine in my opinion. $15 per tasting, 4 different wines. We had a few Zinfandel and Cabs. We didn't buy a bottle or join, but cool local spot!

James R.

Yelp
South Slope Bistro was awesome, my wife and I really enjoyed the setting, and the food and wine were fantastic too. The service was top-notch, and the staff were all extremely welcoming and friendly. Would highly recommend this place if you're looking for a relaxing spot for lunch and a drink.

Yelp
Absolutely love this winery/tasting room. We had plans to meet our cousins at a nearby winery. Those ladies were running late so we opted to come to South Slope for a pre-game. What a great choice. We had so much fun. For $10, you can sip 4 wines. If you buy a bottle then your tasting is comp. I ended buying a bottle of the Zin. Woozer. I preferred the red wines over the whites here. The flavor profiles on the red wines were complex. If I had a bigger suitcase, I would of carried a few bottles home. This place is picture perfect. Clean bathrooms, nice picnic tables. There was corn hole outside and even a live performer. The musician was so good. We really didn't want to leave but the rest of our group Ubered to the other winery so we had to meet them. Very smalls selection of food to purchase but it seems like you can bring your own. Someone was having a birthday celebration outside. This place is a gem...go check out and enjoy the Wine Slushie!!!!

Yelp
First time here, and it's sort of an odd location but it all works very well. Relatively small parking lot but enough unless it gets crowded, which it ultimately did on this early July Saturday -- but still manageable. Ten dollars for a tasting which gets you four pours (though we were granted a couple more, thank you!) and that is applied to the cost of a bottle -- most all of them priced in the mud-thirty dollar range. So there's that, a bit on the pricier side but understandable as a small operation and yeah, they need to make money too. Good food on site -- pizzas and specialty sandwiches and live band as well that were very solid and enjoyable. Overall a really good three hours or so spent here, and we'd probably come back. Nice place.

Yelp
Great little winery in Elk Grove. The winery has a very country flare and the service was outstanding. They have live music on the weekend which is a bonus. We bought the Zin it had a nice bold taste that would go great with a big medium rare steak and fish. They have flights of wine, small plates of food or bring your own. Beautiful setting and very clean inside as well as a nice country flare with bean bag games and kids and dogs welcome. I loved the country feel and the wine was very fine.

Yelp
We came here last weekend with friends and man, we were impressed. The place is a very cute area and we definitely enjoyed our stay. Walking in, we were welcomed by the staff. We were surprised to see that tastings were only $10 for 4. Wow! The wine was delicious and got us feeling lovely in no time. We ended up buying three bottles and our friends bought another with some slushies. If your within the area, stop by! Plenty of options of wine to try--I definitely had a hard time choosing which bottles to try to be honest. They also have some food trucks! Different ones, different days.

Yelp
Came here spontaneously to wine taste on a Sunday. The woman who helped us was friendly and she helped us right away. I am more of a red wine drinker so I was happy they had a tasting of reds. They were all pretty good. The outdoor seating/patio is super cute. They also had live music which I love! The food although was very overpriced. We had a bbq plate that had a couple dinky pieces of meat and it cost $25. Other than that, I would come again for their wine!

Yelp
What a fun place! My cousin who works at this winery on the weekend had her birthday party here. The wine was paid for but if wanted anything else you had to pay for it. I started out with a glass of Rose but it was bitter & dry (I'm not a wine drinker so hard to tell good from not so good), I also tried a Pinot Grigio and it was not bad. There was a great band (Melissa Corona & her husband Mike) there was a taco vendor and the food was delicious. We danced, drank & caught up with friends & family. The service was ok, we were directed where to park when we arrived & that was nice. They seemed kind of short staffed inside but managed. Beautiful property. If you ever stop in say hi to Nancy she's the best!

Yelp
Looking for a place to enjoy a rare and well-deserved date night, my wife and I decided to check out South Slope Wines to do some wine tasting + enjoy live music. Looking forward for some evening wine tasting to help us unwind from a crazy work week, we made the 17 minute trek to South Slope Wines. When we arrived, we waited in the tasting room to be acknowledged by staff. After a five minutes, we were acknowledged by Tamarah. Tamarah provided us with tasting menus and gave us a brief rundown of the variety of wines. Based on our preferences, we both chose the red wine tasting. Out of the four wines on the "red wine" list, our favorite was the 2018 Barbera. Since we wanted to enjoy the live music being played outside, we decided to enjoy the seasonal wine slushies. My wife ordered the "white slushy", while I opted for the "Slushfecta" (a combination of the white and red slushy). The Slushfecta was ok in my opinion. However, my wife's wife slushy was delicious. Overall, we enjoyed our experience at South Slope Wines. However, I was a little perturbed by the initial delay of being acknowledged by staff. Apparently a wine club member was picking up a package, so that caused the delay (which is not an excuse because we're all customers) .

Yelp
This is a wonderful family run winery and bistro right in our own back yard. I've been going off and on for the last few years and it's always such a pleasant visit. They make an excellent Zinfandel, and there's nothing more relaxing than showing up on a weekend afternoon for a bottle of Zin, one of their homemade pizzas or a panini and some live music. Last visit there was a great solo musician, people smiling, sunshine and kids playing in the grass. The fact that they're 15-20 minutes away right in our own back yard makes it even nicer.

John T.

Yelp
Myles, Tamara and crew always know how to deliver a good time. The wine and food are on point. Support your local businesses.

Yelp
Decided to scope this place out based on a recommendation from a friend. I loved that they are doggie and family friendly! Luckily we found the last open table (mental note to bring my own lawn chairs next time)! On this Friday night, they had live music which was great. I strolled inside to do a few tastings...I liked the Viognier and loved the Brut Rose. But the star on this night was their wine slushies! They had a choice of white or red OR a MIX! I had to try the mix and ohh my was it delicious and refreshing. They even topped it off with some Syrah! We brought our own salad and sandwich since I'm kinda trying to eat better but man their wood fired pizzas and Bruschetta looked delicious. The sandwiches looked pretty small for the price so I don't think I'd go with that. The tasting room is very nice and has some tables to sit and a nice counter as well. All the staff and people we met were very friendly. We are excited to have found another local winery we can hang out at. We will definitely return.

Rock R.

Yelp
Great wine , beer , food and love the owners! Great nite out go there every Friday. Try the pizza it's very light more of Italian version
google avatar

Yelp
Vicki was a friendly and personable host . We had the slushie swirl, bomb. We had a red flight and we ate the bruschetta, yum!! Location was spacious and you can have dogs indoor and outdoor very beautiful space.

Yelp
What a gorgeous winery on the corner of Sheldon Rd and Grantline! I saw this place and said...man I have to come check it out. Finally went in for a tasting and I noticed there were children, so they are kid friendly! Walked in the tasting room and all the ladies are super helpful and knowledgeable of their wine and the business. All the wines me and my boyfriend tasted that day were amazing, I bought three bottles home and one to drink there. I have not ventured much on white wines but became fond of the Albarino and Voigner. Wines are a fairly good price and good quality. I love that the labels have a story behind the wine and what you can pair it with. Ou and their slushies! Gotta give that a try on a warm day. They also have live music and food trucks on certain days. You can order a charcuterie board from South Slopes or bring your own food. Will definitely be back to hang out some other day.

Yelp
We went today and it is about 15 minutes from our home. We met some family there and there were 8 of us. We all really liked this place and will return. We bought a couple of bottles of their wine and really enjoyed it. They had a taco truck there today and everyone loved the tacos and Mexican food. There was a band sitting up when we left so they were going to have live music in the afternoon. My guess is there were 100+ people there when we left at 2:00. The parking lots were full and people had started parking on the street. The mask mandate ended a couple of days ago and no one was wearing a mask. We were when we got there, but took them off.

Yelp
I am not a big wine (or alcohol) drinker but the slushy's were amazing. We sat outside which was nice and quiet. We went on Sunday at 11:30ish and it was pretty slow. Staff were all super friendly. I would definitely come back.
google avatar

Catrina B.

Yelp
A group of 25-30 of us showed up on a rainy day to celebrate my sister's birthday. The owner jumped into action to accommodate us all. His team was very friendly, and the wine and pizza were delicious. They had a musician/DJ who played great music, and it literally turned into a party. Everyone was dancing, including the South Slope staff. They made us feel so welcomed, and the vibe was perfect. I can't wait to experience the beautiful grounds when the weather warms up. The winery sits on a large piece of land that is perfect for outdoor entertainment and has plenty of parking. I highly recommend this winery rain or shine!

Yelp
Great place to eat, drink, and hang out with friends and family! Service was great as well!

Yelp
Always a favorite stop when in Elk Grove visiting. Wonderful wines, great staff, fun bands!! A big fan of the 2018 Syrah. Myles and crew recently won 4 Gold Medals at the prestigious Orange County wine competition. Go enjoy, thank me later....

Bugera 6.

Yelp
It's a really nice relaxing place with good service. They have live entertainment, sometimes indoors, and on the weekends outdoors. Everyone there is very friendly.

Yelp
We absolutely love it here! The people are always friendly and helpful. The place is cute as can be and always clean. The wine is good as well as the food! Always a great time!

Yelp
Went to south slope, and was immediately greeted by friendly staff. Both staff member and wine maker were super friendly, and inviting. The Staff was knowledgeable, and was very accommodating since we had a little one with us. The venue is beautiful, the food is delicious, and the wine is good. They allow dogs

Yelp
Visited South Slope yesterday with some girlfriends. We shared a carafe of the mixed wine slushy, which was good but a little too sweet for me. Next time I will try the red wine slushy. They do serve food here and the burrata bruschetta and burger were amazing! The food is a little on the pricey side but definitely worth a try. My girlfriends and I ended up staying here a couple hours, relaxing on the patio chairs and sharing two bottles of cabernet. It was such beautiful day and I would definitely recommend South Slope if you are looking for a new place to experience wine in the Elk Grove area.

Kelli P.

Yelp
Wine was quite good. Pours were SMALL. Food was good but lukewarm. Ambience nice. Service meh.

Yelp
We have been wanting to try the wineries near our house for a while now and we finally got our chance! We had a fun experience at South Slope and are looking forward to coming back to try other varietals! TL;DR: What drew us in was the fact that they focused on single varietals. It's so rare to find that and I love tasting the different characteristics each grape has. They had a lot of really good and fun wines that cater to a lot of different palates. LOCATION/PARKING: They are located on the corner of where Sheldon Rd. meets Grant Line Rd. The tasting room is in what looks like a small red ranch-style house. Super quaint. There are two little parking areas surrounding the tasting room. We didn't have an issue with parking but we went early on a Friday. ATMOSPHERE: The tasting room was modern and nicely updated. They had a nice big counter and a few mini bar table seating options available for groups of 2-3. They had plenty of bench tables and seating outside. The grounds were lovely and they had cornhole available. SERVICE: Their staff were nice and lively. Our sommelier was funny and knowledgeable. They let us know when we walked in that they had all been vaccinated so we felt much more at ease. WINE: We enjoyed our wine tasting experience. They had 3 white wines and 6 red wine options available. We decide to split the wine list so we could cover the entire list. They also have both a red and white wine slushies available, but the menu lists them as seasonal. We didn't get a chance to taste them but another customer next to us was offered a taste of it to try. Our favorite wine of the day was the 2016 Cabernet. It was bold and fruity, with a bit of jamminess and dark fruits. I also enjoyed the 2017 Viognier for its mellow crisp sweetness and its smooth silky texture. My BF liked their 2017 Sangiovese for its light spice and smoke with balanced sweetness. Our sommelier mentioned it would go really well with steak and she was spot on. Ironically, I thought I got some buttery steak in its aroma lol. They paired the 2017 Syrah at the end with a salted caramel covered in a little chocolate and they nailed that pairing. The wine and caramel complemented each other really well. We came during an event they were having so there was actually a food truck present as well. It's a great place to bring people to hang out and enjoy some wine. I'll definitely be back with friends! PRICE: The tasting is $10 per person but they waive that per bottle purchased. We got two bottles so our fees were waived.

Yelp
Great find on the weekend while in Sacramento! Affordable tasting ($10 for five) with live music and food trucks (the coffee food truck in particular was a great find). The wines were very approachable and easy drinking. Worth a stop!
google avatar

Jody P.

Yelp
Beautiful location & delicious wines! They have horseshoe pits, corn hole games and plenty of seating all around.
google avatar

Marielle V.

Yelp
Awesome, friendly, great atmosphere for gatherings with friends or family. They now offer food which is delicious and the wine slushiest are fabulous. They also have music on the weekends and outdoor seating.

Christian C.

Yelp
Great place to eat and drink good wine. Music on the weekends and the staff is awesome. So cool to have a place like this so close to home. My wife and I are members too so every few months we get to taste some of their newest creations while enjoying the classics.
google avatar

Greg H.

Yelp
The customer service was incredible. Tamara was so knowledgeable about the wines. Amazing wine, incredible food and terrific music. Live this place.
google avatar

Yelp
We had a wonderful holiday gathering at this hidden gem. They have a warm and inviting tasting room and tables with heaters for outside seating. We ordered charcuterie trays that were absolutely delicious! Great selection of cheese, nuts, fruits, and chocolates. A great selection of red and white wines. I truly enjoyed the Zinfandel. I'll be back for sure.

Yelp
This winery made it to my top 3 favorite wineries! The wine is amazing of course, but their wine slushy's are perfect during the summer. The live music & beautiful landscape are so welcoming. I saved the best for last, the food. They have stone oven cooked pizza that is delicious every single time. They also have a nice mix of salads, sandwiches, and charcuterie boards. The owners and staff are always welcoming & friendly. You can tell they are really plugged into the community because they know a lot of the guest by their names. Totally recommend this sweet spot in Elk Grove.

Dionne M.

Yelp
The music is wonderful, food truck spot on, enjoyable wine, but the kids running around in front of us and right behind the singer whilst he's performing is absolutely unacceptable. Why hasn't one of the employees make some announcement about this rude and disruptive behavior? Perhaps they should make an announcement before the performance that children need to be seated or play at the farthest part of the huge lawn. It really takes away from the atmosphere when you're dodging footballs and screaming kids!

Preeti R.

Yelp
Great service! They accommodated a party of 11 for us and they were very good servicing us. The sparkling wines were very good and the food was delicious. Their charcuterie boards were worth the prize and the pizzas were crunch wood fired. Loved it! Will definitely return.

Whitney M.

Yelp
Great Mothers Day celebration here! Definitely coming back. Great customer service and venue!!!
