South Station

Such a beautiful and historic building. I managed to take a walking tour of the building from Linda Perlman, which was highly insightful into the rich history of South Station. The terminal feels quite grand, and connections are fairly easy to make. Also good dining options within the building.

All of those reviews that had 4 and 5 stars must have not gone to the restroom. I’m a male and Men’s restrooms are not always the best. But the Boston South Station is the WORST I HAVE SEEN IN MY LIFE. All the stall doors are broken, one stall had a pint of bourbon and a Coke and the stall that I was in had a baggie of white powder. It was filthy. But I had to go and had no other choice. The train platforms are pitted, making it difficult to roll luggage. Poorly ventilated considering the trains run diesel engines.

South Station has a world almost inside a place. The only other time I've seen this was down at Massachusetts Avenue. I would like to point out that homeless people are not allowed inside to just hang out. It's a very clean train station and very busy it's easy to get lost but at the same time, Don't. You don't want to sit all day waiting on transportation. I traveled from Dorchester Uphams Corner to South Station to Worcester and back. Total time: 3 hours 45 minutes on the trains.

It is a nice train station. It is much smaller than major stations such as Penn Station, Grand Centratral. This makes everything very accessible.

Took MBTA from Mansfield to south station. Trip was a breeze. Would just wish real time into are updated in the app. Track info is only updated once the train arrive. Perhaps it is to not crowd the platform since it is kinda narrow. Anyway in the station, there is auntie anne’s, starbucks, mcdonalds and other restaurants. There is cvs too.

South Station is small enough to walk through in hurry or stop and get some much needed food or coffee. A large CVS is also on premises - a very large CVS. The public restrooms are the true reason South Station does not get a higher rating. A huge attraction is the local gift store. Normally you might think a store would be expensive, but it's not, they are very reasonable. Enjoy Boston!

Great historic station with many connections in Boston. Though service is infrequent, the station is clean with many food places.

Great experience! This was my first trip on the Amtrak and it was so easy to move around and find what platform I needed. Lots of options for food and the bathrooms were pretty nice.
