12 hidden restaurants in Singapore that even hipsters don’t know about - SilverKris

"An unpretentious nook in a residential estate offering carefully considered contemporary Western cuisine that reflects the pedigree of its young chef-owner, who trained at Spain’s two-Michelin-star Mugaritz. The menu rotates with regular specials, but the popular homemade duck confit tagliatelle—drizzled with hazelnut cream and garnished with roasted hazelnuts and lemon zest—is a standout." - SilverKris

Having frequent this restaurant, I would definitely recommend this place for a casual, western-style meal. The menu is quite extensive, with a wide range of dishes to choose from. However, I can say that after having tried most dishes on the menu at this point, they can either be a hit or a miss, depending on your tastes, but most of them are still pretty delicious. For me personally, I highly recommend the roasted vegtable salad. The slightly charred vegtables, dressed with a slightly tangy yet savoury vinaigrette really makes the dish stand out. As for the beef bourguingon, I felt that the beef was a little on the tough side this time and the red wine jus was a tad too sour for my liking. The mashed potatoes tasted very rich and buttery though, so that was nice. The chicken wings were just average. We also ordered the seafood risotto and aglio olio pasta (not pictured), but felt that the risotto was a little undercooked for our liking, while the aglio olio could have a stronger garlic flavour. The service is extremely quick and efficient. After having placed our order, some of the dishes came out in less than 10 minutes. It's a little scary how fast they are able to whip up the food and have it served to you (lol). The staff were also very friendly and accommodating. However, since the restaurant is relatively small, it can get quite noisy inside with the sound of people talking and the ongoing action in the open-concept kitchen. Nevertheless, for the quality, price and variety, I would say this place is worth giving a try. They're also known for their pastas, so if you're a pasta lover, this might suit your fancy. Even if you aren't, there's also many other dishes to choose from.

Mushroom soup was thick and creamy, would order it again. Truffle kombu fries was covered with truffle powder I think, not the typical truffle oil and be done with it. Loved every flavour of it. Crab pasta was delicious. Very generous amount of crab meat and worth. We chose the tomato sauce and it pairs so well with the pasta and ingredients.

I like to call this a “hidden gem”! A short stroll from Kembangan MRT, you will find this little cafe tucked among the landed enclave. The food was really good. Pastas that we ordered were all flavorful and portion was big. My favourite must be the Spicy prawn pasta - the prawns were very fresh. Not the cheapest but the food was well worth it. Can go try if you are in the hood.

The portions are hugeee Wagyu burger and roasted vegetables were so goooddd. Mushroom soup and duck confit pasta were quite bland for our liking but can ask for salt haha. Overall would visit again 🤍 The portions were huge as well we had to takeaway our leftovers

Delicious food as always! The new matcha cheesecake was really nice too. Staff were polite and helpful, although food took a while to serve due to the crowd which is understandable

We ordered 2 pastas, they were average and expensive. Luckily the crabmeat tomato pasta was not very fishy tasting (as they often are at pasta joints). They do offer free flow water, and the waiters and cashier were friendly and polite. The vibe is quiet and unstated, which makes it a good place to chat and relax. Do take advantage of the Grab Dine Out deal!

Ordered the following: Bouillon Seared Seabass - a star item on the menu. Tomato broth tasted good, seabass was fresh and seared well. Skin could be crispier but still very good Duck Confit Tagliatelle - handmade pasta tasted great, but overall a little salty and heavy on the taste Wild Mushroom Risotto - lots of mushroom and flavour, perfect for the fungi lovers Pan Seared Pork Chop - soft and tender pork chop, very well cooked. Will order again the next round Mixed Berries beverage - a little sourish but my kid like it Dined here using Entertainer app, overall bill

Our first time here on a Saturday morning, we must have been lucky to have seats without making reservation. Menu was interesting and we had great food. Waiting time was appropriate. We had a good time here. WE WILL COME BACK :)
