Went to dog park its the most unsafe place for dogs here. Keep your dogs leashed and walk them. There was a piece of wood "blocking" a hole but not secured in anyway so my smallest dog got loose and she's not even all that small shes 35lbs+ my largest dog nuzzled the piece of wood once to show mw where she got out and the pmwood pist fell over with ease and im pretty sure if he had really wanted to my 75lb+ pup could have wiggled out too.. there no map/signs or even labels to distinguish the large and small dog parks how to get to the dog parks in the back etcetc the city seems to out its moneh jn the XL shooting range at the front of the park than the actual park itself. Again protect your dogs and walk them on leash do not use the dog park

Love the huge dog park by the lake! Perfect for my big boy to stretch his legs! Have been there a couple times and never anyone using it which is great for us. Parks is well maintained and clean!

nice park, however the city needs to get the dog park near the lake up to par. the grass is over knee high in places. its very easy for your dogs to get ticks. there's no water or dog station for pickup of poo. also it needs a fence so the dogs can't run down into the gully. im new to Amarillo so I guess I will start with my city council representative to get the park safe and usable for our dogs

Googled dog park and this place came up. Thought it looked nice so we went. Drove to the back where the pier was and it's neat that you can fish there. Didn't like that the driving range was so close to everyone and quite loud. Walked to what I thought were the dog parks, and they were horseshoe pits. Extremely small playground

Peaceful, cool breeze from the water! Gun shooting range across from it! 12/27/22 it was full of the Canadian geese that I've been hearing night and day flying, and seeing in the sky from Grand and I40! The water level is way too low for the ducks, seagulls, and geese at this time! Would be great if the city, or firemen could give them some water! Also needs benches to sit on around the lake!! 🙌✝️🙏✨🕊️🥰🦆🦢🦅🦉🦚🦃🐧🦜🐦🐔🐓🦙🦘🐆🦌🐕🐩🐈🐸🐢🐴🌅🏞️🌲🏜️🏖️🏝️

The dog park is in bad shape, the water available does not work. People do not pick up there dog's poop. There are sink holes all over where dogs n people can get hurt. Fix the park. This what we pay taxes for.....

It’s a beautiful sunset, in fact it’s the best I’ve experienced in this part of Texas yet! It’s important to note that I’ve only spent little time in the state so my experience is limited. Regarding fishing, since it was late when arriving and cold I did not see much action. Also at the area I came into the park (some of the park perimeter is closed to vehicle travel) there was cat-o-nines which were tall I couldn’t much reach the water straight but the bank was tall enough to toss over and beyond easily. Snags were minimal for that type of weed however due to my time of visit I didn’t see much action which I’m certain it was only due to circumstance. The water certainly will have fish in the cover. I’ll go back before leaving to try and land a good one! (Will update)

One of Amarillos most natural scenic parks has large lake with doc good for fishing. There is also a hidden area to this park that most don't know about. Behind the lake in the wooded area you will experience how Amarillo s native folige and wildlife as if Amarillo was never there! Honestly it's at it's most beautiful point during spring-summer. This place is a hidden gem!
