The tenders were so good. Nicely battered, juicy and tender. The fries are nicely seasoned and fried to perfection. The biscuit is on the sweet side (I like it). It pairs so well with the tenders and fries. I really enjoy the fried pickles. They are nicely seasoned as well and fried to perfection! The staff is friendly, very hospitable. Me and my boyfriend will definitely continue to come here.

Google
First time at Southerleigh Haute South and I was seriously impressed. I ordered the fried chicken sandwich, the chicken was super juicy, fresh, and a really good size. I also tried the margarita flights … delicious. The vibe is super chill, perfect for hanging out with friends or bringing family. Our server checked on us often without being too much. Definitely planning to come back.

When i came in yesterday I waited about 5 minutes before someone greeted me at the door. Then when i placed my order i paid cash. The person that i ordered with never returned my change. When she brought my food I said "where's my change" her replied was they never brought you your change? Who exactly are "they" ; when you handle money with a person you return the change. The fried chicken skins were awful. The gumbo was superb.

We had a friend in town and decided to try some place new that they had not been before and ended up at Southerleigh's located in the Rim shopping area of San Antonio, Texas. It was a Wednesday evening, so there wasn't really a dinner rush hour or anything crowded wise we had to worry about. Parking was fairly plentiful, and located down the street a little off to the right hand side. It consists of a parking garage and a surface lot. We entered and we're quickly greeted. The young lady sat us and a table. We were seated at a table for 5 people, even there were just 3 of us. I thought it was a little bit echoey and loud in the restaurant, but this was okay as we could still hear each other talk. Our server, Soffia, greeted us and gave us plenty of time to review the menu. When we were ready, she took and confirmed our orders. The food took about 20 or so minutes to prepare and brought to our table. It was steamy hot, so you could tell is freshly prepared. It tasted really well and overall, we had a great time in a pleasant atmosphere. We opted not to have any dessert and finished out our evening. We really had enjoyed the evening and had a good time. I hope if you choose to visit that your experience is as good as mine.

We have been here 3 times and we had 3 different experiences. 1st time was a 5/5 the food and service were impeccable. 2nd time was a 3/5 the food was great but the service was seriously lacking that day. This 3rd time was a 4/5. The food was super tasty but the crab boil was cold and my wife won't complain she'll just deal with it. I always get the spicy chicken quarters and I have loved it each time! Chicken has always been cooked perfectly and very well seasoned! My wife always gets the crab boil, the 1st time it was perfect, 2nd time was like the bottom of the bag of crab pieces and this 3rd time it was cold. For sides we have had the deviled Eggs, the chicken cracklins, meat pies, the mac n cheese, chili, and the mashed potatoes and everything has been amazing! The employees have always been super kind and very helpful and the restaurant is always clean and comfortable. We will definitely go back again, we just now wonder what will "it" be this time.... Hopefully perfect! ;)

Our server Rachel was the sweetest and mgr Cary was so kind kept checking in on us. Tried my first ever oyster. Mgr Cary recommended Rockafeller style. Loved everything we tried and the service was top tier . They made our anniversary extra special!!

Located in The Rim, we had high expectations. This place excelled them and more. The shrimp was OK, however the Haute Chicken with Cajun Butter and biscuit was a memorable experience. You will not be disappointed if you eat here!

It was our first time here, I looked on google for new restauramts to try this popped up I checked out the menu online and said oh yeah!!! 1. Our waiter Dustin was awesome he checked in on us every 10 mins or so (we were there an hour easily). 2. The food was decently priced and good portions 3. The flavor was awesome on every dish (I recommend the fried chicken skin and deviled eggs topped with bacon jam as appetizers) 4. Definitely coming back again soon!!!!

Yelp
Southerleigh is always a treat! This location is bright and cozy; we've always been fortunate to not have to wait long for a table. The drink selection is fantastic - love the cocktails with and without alcohol. They have great happy hour deals. We usually split a half rotisserie chicken - it is always perfectly seasoned and the skin is soooo good. They even have a queso appetizer that comes decked out with chicken skins. Highly recommend it! The Mac and cheese is our favorite along with the honey fried biscuit. You have to have it, it is life changing. You have to check this place out when you're out at the Rim shopping or maybe before watching a movie at Palladium. Definitely one of my favorite date night spots.

Yelp
1/4 bird fried with mash potatoes ROOSTER RITA Rooster Rita was very refreshing and tasty. I did add Strawberry flavor to it. The mash potatoes were made from real potatoes and delicious The biscuit was awesome. Very light and delicious The fried chicken earned it's reputation as being very good. I had the white meat, regular flavor, which was juicy and delicious

Yelp
02 Jan 2025 Not special, but not bad. We didn't go in through the front door. Oops. We stood by the bar and then a server seated us. The menu is mostly fried food, which is OK with me. A fairly different menu from what we are used to at the Pearl location. I ordered a bowl of gumbo its description seemed OK - chicken, sausage, rice, okra, the usual gumbo ingredients. Served with saltines. It has a very good texture, just thick enough, not runny. Alas, it has no kick. No spice at all. No bottle of Tabasco on the table to help it either. I had the chicken tenders and fries. Five large pieces of chicken and seasoned fries. Served with remoulade sauce and a sweet sauce. Both of these were very thin and runny. The sweet sauce had a good flavor; the other not so much. The star of my meal is the large honey biscuit. Flaky, soft and delicious. The rest of the meal, meh. Ironically, I boxed the leftovers to go and forgot the container on the table. Oh well. Must be Freudian. The husband had a chicken sandwich with the fries. He ate it, but wasn't thrilled. Iced tea is $2.95. Borderline no bueno. If you live in the neighborhood I guess it's worth a try. Do not drive across town to eat here. Go to the Pearl location.

Yelp
Food was great. The honey on top of the cornbread was super tasty. I ordered a cup of the chili and I'm so glad I did because it was huge and apparently the bowl is way bigger. Service was great - but it is super loud inside. I do wish they didn't use seed oils to fry and cook with but heavy sigh.....

Yelp
The restaurant is very inviting and casual. The atmosphere was relaxed and employees were great. We sat at the bar and had our drinks made fresh. We were able to order some plates and everything was delicious. I will be visiting this place again and also recommend this establishment.

Yelp
Decided to go with the fried chicken and red beans and rice.. superb! The chicken was fried perfectly. A bit salty but I had already had a few adult beverages so it was ok lol. The red beans were flavored well. You can taste the love they put into them. Will be back there soon!

Yelp
Late post on the early family birthday celebration this past Sunday. It's been a while since we've been to Southerleigh Haute South so hubby and I chose to have dinner there. We noticed that on Sundays, Mondays and Thursdays, they have Game Day Specials from 7pm - 9pm for the football season, which includes food and drinks. We decided to try the Wings in Hot Honey and Regular Honey (6 each). The wings were decent size and tasted very good. Hubby and I had the Margarita, and Dad had Lemonade. My one sister-in-love had the Chicken Pot Pie with salad, and the other one had Fish and Chips. Dad and I shared the Fish with mashed potatoes. Hubby had the Half Chicken with salad. All the food was piping hot and 2 thumbs up! Lindsay brought us the Apple Hand Pie with 3 scoops of vanilla ice cream and Bread Pudding as a complimentary sweet ending. Though Lindsay was new to serving, she did a phenomenal job with our large group. We also enjoyed my sister-in-love's homemade Texas Sheet Cake. So chocolatey rich and yummy!

Yelp
First time at this establishment, and it was phenomenal !! The waitress was super sweet and recommended the chicken wings. The mashed potatoes with gravy were so flavorful and the spicy rub on the wings were kicking! A friend and I got a bottle of champagne and had mimosas on their patio. Beautiful weather, vibes, everything! Have to come back during happy hour !!

Yelp
Hanging Out at Southerleigh Haute South for Happy Hour Last month, the ladies and I craved a light treat, so we headed over to Southerleigh Haute South at the Rim for Happy Hour. I arrived around 4:30 PM to beat the 6 PM rush, especially with San Antonio participating in Culinaria, also known as Restaurant Week. Parking was easy, and the foot traffic at the RIM was light, allowing me to find a spot close to the entrance. I arrived first and was greeted by the hostess, who seated me while I waited for the rest of my group. The waitress came over, and I browsed the menu, debating whether to opt for the Culinaria selections. Culinaria is a bi-annual event that offers diners a preselected menu at a fixed price, usually around $35 to $45. I decided to stick to the Happy Hour menu instead. To get a head start for the ladies, I ordered a dozen oysters and chicken wings ($1 each) along with some fried pickles. The oysters were fresh, with just the right amount of salt. When the ladies arrived, we added deviled eggs ($24 for eight) and honey biscuits to our order. While I love deviled eggs, I was shocked at the price. Though tasty, they didn't seem worth the cost. Our waitress refilled our drinks, and we added mac and cheese ($9) and two orders of meat pies. Unfortunately, the mac and cheese, covered in a queso sauce, lacked flavor, and the meat pies, which resembled greasy empanadas, were disappointing. Even the wings, though affordable, were too salty. I've never been let down by the downtown location, which feels more upscale, but this visit left me a bit disappointed. It was a fun outing with the ladies, but with so many other restaurants at the RIM, it may be a while before I return to this spot. -- Da Islandgal29412

Yelp
Leave your calorie/macros counter at the door. Came in for lunch and was a little slow but we didn't mind. Our chicken sandwiches were so delicious. The weather was on our side so we enjoyed eating in their patio
google avatar

Yelp
Really great food! I got the fried catfish basket and fried pickles and both were pretty good! The only downside was the wait time, as it probably took around 30-40 minutes to get my food.
google avatar

Yelp
Extremely nice setting nice casual atmosphere southern comfort, fair and above all extremely good fried chicken! Must try when in San Antonio. Service was warm and very attentive.

Yelp
So, today's happy hour experience was awesome. The staff was friendly and took our order quickly. We got our food made to perfection. The oysters are only $1 during happy hour. We also ordered their famous happy hour $1 hot wings and biscuits. The drinks there NEVER disappoint. This time, we dined indoors. When weather permits, we like to enjoy their beautiful patio area. If you're at the RIM, definitely give this place a try.

Yelp
If you're looking for true southern food - keep looking. My first time here. The staff is great and checked on my group multiple times through the night. Got the catfish and fries for about $19. It was bought out fresh and hot. The only thing on the plate that had flavor was the tartar sauce. The catfish breading was completely falling off and had absolutely no seasoning. I just ended up eating "naked" catfish because I didn't feel like chasing the breading around. The fries were crispy but weren't seasoned. Also tried deviled eggs my friend recommended that was supposed to have a bacon jam on top - more like just bacon. No flavor there either. ($9 for 3 eggs!). Nothing special about that either, save your money. The food also came with a fried biscuit. Definitely a can of pillsbury flaky layer biscuits that's been fried. Not bad just a little hard. Only ate the center. Overall good atmosphere but not great food.

Yelp
Came here to celebrate my best friend's birthday! She is gluten free and this place is definitely the place to be! She can have a variety of options here (except the biscuits). The food is flavorful, fresh, and nicely plated. I love the environment. Clean and super welcoming. Service was polite and quick. They kept the drinks filled and constantly checked back on us. There are definitely other plates I wanna try!

Yelp
Ever since Southerleigh Haute South opened its doors in the La Cantera/Rim area, I find myself visiting here quite frequently every time I'm in town visiting. This location is very open with plenty of lighting and the wraparound bar is my favorite. The menu here is slightly different than their Pearl location but with the same flavors and deliciousness we've all come to love. Haute South is an homage to Southern comfort and signature Gulf creations. It's a cheeky nod to some popular dishes you'd find in New Orleans. Service is the star of the show here as the team is super friendly and quite welcoming. They take such caution to allergens and are always happy to strike a conversation. With a bit of covered outdoor seating, you can even enjoy the sunny weather. Completely suggest swinging by and then taking a short walk to grab a Lick Ice Cream cone.

Yelp
This fried chicken has lived in my imagination for about two months. Imagine my surprise when I found out it was gluten free. So after stalking their website for nutritional values and finding out that there is an option for gluten free crunchy chicken, I went at my first chance. Walking in I noticed the big sign warning about cross contamination and I was grateful because that means they take food allergies seriously. We sat outside and enjoyed the weather. The waiter was quick and attentive to our needs. He was kind and I will definitely come back because of that great service!
google avatar

Trina W.

Yelp
Can highly recommend if you're coming in for the chicken, which is what I had. It was fried to perfection and had great seasoning and was juicy. The mac was extra but great and the fried biscuit, yummy! Do yourself a favor and try the deviled eggs topped with bacon jam. My father has the shrimp boil which we all tasted and no one was a fan of. I had to immediately eat something else to get through flavor out. It was pretty bad, weird sour/tangy. Idk, but it didn't take "southern" to me. The fish was okay, the breading was fine but tasted a little extra fishy. Not horrible though. But seriously, get the chicken.

Yelp
Food: Cheese dip was great. Deviled eggs needed more relish. Chicken was not so good...disappointing actually! Service: it took about 20 min for a server to come, however she was great and the manager was nice as well. Very friendly! Ambiance: nice and clean Inside

Yelp
Came in on a Monday evening so it wasn't too busy. Our experience here was great! Our waiter was super nice and helpful with navigating the menu and giving us different options to try. My friend ordered one of the drink flights which was pretty good--some of the drinks were pretty strong too. We got the fried pickles for a starter and the serving size was pretty large. The pickles paired really well with the ranch and crystal aioli that came with it. We ordered a dozen oysters for the table which tasted pretty fresh, but was on the brinier side. For my main I got the 1/4 chicken which was perfectly seasoned, crispy on the outside, and still very moist. It came with a side of creamy mashed potatoes and a deep fried biscuit dipped in honey. The biscuit wasn't too sweet and the mashed potatoes were also perfectly seasoned.

Yelp
I know. I'm overdue. Thanks to the awful road closures, we've been avoiding this part of town. Last weekend, they announced the roads would remain open so we beelined here for brunch. It was our first brunch experience and we loved it. Hubby had the breakfast burger and thought it was great (burgers with eggs are his favorite kind!) and I indulged, at the recommendation of our server, in the 1/4 chicken and donuts. Wow. I opted for the white meat because it's easier to cut, and dark meat is better "hands on" which I didn't want to do. Fantastically crispy, crunchy, tender and hot. The donuts were delicious, too- not super sweet (glad for that) but I used spare syrup that came on the side for a few dunks. I can't wait to order this again! As an appetizer, we ordered the chicken cracklings. I only know a few places that offer this, but none better than this one. Spicy ranch and hot honey dips on the side were a perfect accompaniment. Crunchy goodness! I also tried a mango fromosa- frozen mimosa- that was refreshingly delicious. It wasn't super busy, lucky for us, but we went early. Can't wait for the next non-closure weekend or, better yet, the end of construction! Until then, I'll dream about the chicken and donuts!

Yelp
Randomly stumbled upon this place. It was so good! The chicken tenders were crunchy, nice breading and delicious. Biscuit, amazing. If only I could eat 10 of them. Breakfast sandwich, delicious. all gone. Drinks, great! A tad sweet for me, I got old fashioned. The biscuit was a great twist to that drink. Waiter was great. Only downside was we sat outside and the amount of flies/gnats..... not worth outside. We'll be back soon and sitting indoors!
google avatar

Yelp
Went here recently with a team for work. Plenty of parking in the area. Service was OK. We ordered many appetizers like the fries, wings, biscuits, and others. I got the chili. It was a little more spicy than expected. A few days later several got sick. Thankfully I did not but I also didn't eat most of the appetizers. Probably won't ever go back.
google avatar

Elizabeth L.

Yelp
Love the date night/chill nicer dinner night vibes this place offers. The food is genuinely very good, tastes great, and entree portions are huge so the price for that makes sense. Pricing for the appetizers seem a little outrageous to me, but I get it. 4 deviled eggs were $12. Service was nice, but so dang slow. Our waitress was kind and observant, but again, even trying to flag her down to get the check took over 20 minutes. Came on a non-busy Thursday night. Overall, great food but mediocre service (that day). Definitely want to give this place another chance!
google avatar

Marissa L.

Yelp
This was my 3rd time visiting and the best visit yet. Last couple of visits the food was not up to par and the wait staff weren't that nice. It's been a year since then so I gave them another try. The waitress was very attentive and nice. I was craving fish and the catfish did not disappoint. The frozen margarita flight was enough drinks for the night and they were delish. It wasn't packed inside so there was ample amount of seating. It was a great spot for the girls night we had.
google avatar

LaJana Y.

Yelp
I really enjoyed an early dinner here. The service was great and the food was terrific! Have the fried chicken... it tastes like my mom was in the kitchen frying it. Great!
google avatar

Rechetta K.

Yelp
The waitress was super sweet, definitely 10/10 for customer service. She was attentive. Went mid day on a Saturday, there was a handful of customers. Food was super disappointing. We ordered raw oysters, they were delicious as an appetizer. Mango margarita was pretty bad, seemed to be made with 90% flavoring & 10% alcohol. Ordered a chicken salad & the greens were wilted and soggy and the chicken was all dark meat. I've never had a chicken Caesar with dark meet, wasn't a fan and returned it. Our table also had a crab boil and for some odd reason they throw the crab boil "over" the fries. That was super disappointing because they all came to the table super soggy. Fries are supposed to be crispy. First time eating there and kind of regret not choosing one of the surrounding restaurants. Don't recommend this place.
google avatar

Ellen E.

Yelp
This restaurant is the epitome of Southern Comfort food. It honestly made me wonder why people would travel to Nashville for fried chicken when this place is available in SA. (Yes I said it.) we came for brunch on a Saturday and started with the loaded Bloody Mary (garnished with a crab leg, 2 shrimp, a fried chicken wing, 2 olives, and celery) which was delicious and was a little mini appetizer. It sold me on committing to the fried chicken for my meal despite the number of amazing sounding brunch options. We shared a bacon glazed donut which was sinfully decadent. They also were offering $2 frozen mimosas which were good. I opted for the collard greens as my fried chicken sidtrying to be healthy-ish, but I kinda regret it lol. They tasted loaded with butter and sugar. I wish I would have gone with the Mac n cheese instead. The fried chicken was delicious, served hot and was very flavorful (not spicy). There's SO many things I want to come back and try, I had a hard time choosing what to get because I wanted all of it. And everything we tried was amazing, so I will be back for sure!
google avatar

Vera R.

Yelp
We came here last Saturday for brunch . Food was good. Hubby had the rotisserie chicken while I had the shrimp poboy . Their portions were large . The reason I have given only a 4 is because service was a little bit slow that day took us almost 25 minutes from the time the main course came out after appetizers .
google avatar

Oliver B.

Yelp
I've eaten at Southerleigh Haute South many times and they never disappoint me. The eggs in a hole big plate was delicious and it's truly a big plate. I took half of it home and had it for dinner. The jalapeño cheese grits were very tasty. You get a big bowl of it for $7. I always get excellent customer service when I eat there. The mocktail are worth the $6 if you aren't in the mood for alcohol. I highly recommend people try this place out when they are in the area.
google avatar

Fernando V.

Yelp
First time at this location, after about 1 and I guess it was still the breakfast menu that was out, so not a lot of good lunch options. Menu also didn't have many things that would work for kids if you have some typical picky eater kiddos. Overall service was slow, was disappointing and the fried shrimp basket was definitely not worth the price. Kids seemed to enjoy the chicken sandwhich and the mash potatoes and macaroni.
google avatar

Jenny G.

Yelp
Happy Hour is the time to go! Food and service is always consistent. Wish there was a Stone Oak location
google avatar

Isobel B.

Yelp
THE CHICKEN IS SO JUICY AND CRISPY! It's everything you want in your southern fried chicken. Perfect textures and perfect flavor. The sides were good too. French fries were crispy and mac and cheese was cheesy and flavorful (although a little too rich for my preferences). The biscuits (not pictured) were unique and not my favorite. They're more flakey, unlike traditional biscuits, but are super super oily and greasy. It took a while for us to get our food, around 30 minutes, when the restaurant was quite empty. They apologized profusely so I'm hoping it was a bad day.
google avatar

Alex O.

Yelp
I would totally recommend this place. This works for breakfast and or lunch. The chocolate mousse dessert was bomb!

Aaron R.

Yelp
Had an amazing experience. Our server was very friendly and attentive but not intrusive. The food was delicious, a must have are the deviled eggs! The chicken was definitely on point. We will go back again!

Yelp
fried chicken fried chicken fried chicken done... thats all ya need to know! well maybe i'll mention the greens i stopped by about 2PM on a wednesday and was happy to note lunch runs til 3PM. one of the specials was 2 pc of fried chicken, choice of salad or gumbo side, fries, honey fried biscuit AND iced tea for... drumroll please... $12.99! for comparison: popeyes: 2 pc chicken, side, biscuit & drink + add fries $11.79 whataburger: fried chicken sammie, fries & drink $9.49 (no salad) so why get fast food when you can get hot, fresh food and more of it for about the same price! take away is available! i started on my salad while i waited for the rest, i got the blackberry vinaigrette - tasty but not too heavy or sweet. the very generous amount of lettuces were fresh & crisp and PACKED into the bowl, topped with cheese, red onions & tomatoes. the rest came out quickly, piping hot! the breading on the chicken looks dark - but its perfect! you can get spicy or regular, i got regular - white. the meat was very moist and the breading is so crisp and light! the fries are battered and stayed crisp after they cooled. the honey fried biscuit is great! a deep fried biscuit glazed in honey - crisp on the outside, fluffy on the inside and not greasy. service was very attentive, but to be fair, the place was empty. but hubbie and i have been before and service has been always been good. spacious, clean, farmhouse style interior with outdoor dining avail. side notes: their tea actually tasted like well brewed tea and their greens are DELICIOUS! and other food items are available. but if you LOVE fried chicken, give theirs a try - you just might find a new favorite!

Yelp
So this place was recommended to me by a friend. So decided to drop in during lunch time to try it out. I'm glad I did because it was pretty good. The Frozen Flight - The margaritas were pretty good and strong. I'd suggest going during their happy hour which is from 3pm to 6pm to save a little on the flight. Overall good flavors and strongly made. Would recommend! The Chicken Cracklins - This was my favorite of all that we had tried! So you know when you eat fried chicken and you tear that crispy skin off of the thigh and you indulge in the juicy fried crispy goodness? This is exactly like that! The two dipping sauces complimented the crispy chicken Cracklins very well. One was a hot sauce and the other was a spicy ranch. Highly recommended! The Honey Butter Biscuits - Nice and fluffy on the inside and crispy on the outside drizzled with honey. These weren't that bad. They can be filling if you decide to eat a few before your entree comes out so be careful they can be addicting to some. Southerleigh Smash Burger - Your typical burger with seasoned fries. Came with two smash patties, onions, and pickles. Good flavor and seasoned well Homemade Chicken Pot Pie - Not your typical frozen ones you'd buy from the store. This was a pretty good size and can feed two in my opinion. Filled to the brim with chicken and veggies and the crust on top was baked to a nice crispy. Overall the food here was great and the staff was very helpful and the service we received was good. The place itself was very open and decorated with light colors. Would high recommend trying this place out if you're in town.

Yelp
This might be an unpopular opinion but the Mac & cheese here was lackluster and left more to be desired. It was anything but cheesy and some of my noodles were still hard. But besides that, my fiancé and I did enjoy the rest of our food. We ordered * Pimento chicken queso (It was okay but nothing to rave about) * Pan seared pork chops (Probably one of the best dishes) * Haute chicken sandwich (It was alright but the hot sauce was more on the sweeter side and it didn't give me the extra kick that I typically like) * Southertea (Tasted exactly how you'd expect it too! It usually costs $9 but during happy hour it's $5) * Peach Bellini (My favorite drink & comes with a peach ring, of course) * PassionNova (Least favorite drink) They do accept reservations here but we went on a Tuesday and it wasn't busy at all but the waitress recommended to get reservations if you plan on coming during the weekend.

Yelp
Food is always amazing. My husband always orders the fried chicken and then orders another to take home for later. Shrimp are also really good and the bar drinks taste amazing. Service has been good every time we dine here. I definitely recommend.

Yelp
Authentic southern food. Great service. Clean and nice ambience. Food came out warm and crispy. Biscuits are good for desserts. Fries is well seasoned and crispy

Yelp
My wife and I celebrated our 36th wedding anniversary yesterday by going for a nice lunch at Southerleigh's Haute South. We tend to enjoy eating out in the early afternoon now that we are retired. The venues are less busy, the service is usually more attentive, and the atmosphere is always much more relaxed. Since it was raining a lot yesterday, we almost had the entire restaurant to ourselves. Y'all know that I like craft beer. I started my meal with a flight of the four Southerleigh brews that were on tap. There was a light lager, German lager, a standard IPA, and a New England hazy IPA. I enjoyed them all, especially the hazy. My wife, who is much more disciplined than I, opted to have her extra calories in dessert. However, nothing on the dessert menu caught her eye. We went for ice cream instead. Our appetizer was Chicken Cracklin's. They were supposed to be served with spicy ranch dressing. They must know I am not a ranch fan, because they came with a spicy honey for dipping, instead. They were not at all greasy and very crunchy. I was surprised how little of a chicken taste they had. I guess the flavor is in the fat that had been cooked out. They were still tasty and enjoyable. I ordered the crispy pork schnitzel on buttered linguini. It was covered in a brown mushroom gravy. I was hoping for a tiny bit of sweetness in the gravy to make it a bit more German, but it was still very good. I would order it again for the buttered linguini alone. My wife had the southern fried chicken sandwich. The chicken breast portion was HUGE. She liked it a lot. I am not a big white meat fan. I wish you could get a southern fried boneless chicken thigh sandwich. That would be heaven! Overall, I really enjoyed our meal. There were some things about the menu that I didn't like. I know that I am old fashioned, but I wanted the meatloaf to come with mashed potatoes. They were available as a side, but the dish itself was served with the meatloaf and a side salad. That totally stopped me from ordering my favorite food. Likewise, having buttered rice as the side for chicken pot pie didn't cut it for me. Nor did having what sounded like a delicious pairing of sauteed flounder and gulf shrimp in a brown butter sauce sound good served over a bed of green beans. Fortunately, there are other choices that I liked the sound of.

Yelp
Some of the best fried chicken you can get in San Antonio. The service was quick and easy for a lunch time. Also, the look and feel of the restaurant is very welcoming and kept.

Yelp
As long as my wife and granddaughter are happy with the food, I'm all good. They both enjoyed it. The service was excellent. My wife love the strawberry mamosa. The the atmosphere was very warming It wasn't overwhelming too busy. Like most restaurants we go to it. Looks like somebody throwed up on the wall, but not this place. It was very relaxing and enjoyable and the background music was perfect. We will be back soon with the whole family. Then it might get a little crazy

Yelp
Wow delicious and fresh food. My husband had the shrimp po boy and I had the fish po boy. We also order collard greens, red beans and rice and honey butter biscuits to try. My husband is from New Orleans and this is the food he grew up on, he was so impressed. Everything was amazing, truly a gem. Victoria helped us she was very sweet and patient as it was our first time at the restaurant. Thank you so much we will be back very soon!

Yelp
This place is just amazing. There's no other way to put it. I've been here multiple times and every time everything is impressive. This place you want to come to if you want to grunt and moan to every bite LOL my friend and I split the shrimp po boy with a side of Cole slaw. It was AMAZING. They LOAD this thing down with shrimp, fresh lettuce, tomatoes and this delicious remoulade sauce. The shrimp were seasoned and fried perfectly. The fries were crispy and seasoned well. The cole slaw was cold, crispy and creamy. Huge portion too! All in all, this place rocks. It's pricey but it's worth every penny!

Yelp
Everything was hot & fresh! The chicken was so good, my bf has been raving about the chicken since we left lol! My greens were a tad bit salty! Other than that everything was delicious. Drinks were good as well! I had a flight. Our server was friendly. We went when there weren't many people, so it was chill laid back inside. Establishment was clean! We'll be back

Yelp
Came in on a hot Friday evening for dinner with a friend. We were seated quickly and put in our drink orders to quench our thirst. The inside is very bright and chill. So I was excited to try the food because I had been to Southerleigh Fine Foods in the past. I ordered the deviled eggs and half fried chicken with macaroni and cheese. My friend ordered the meat pies and half rotisserie chicken with jalapeños grits. The portions are huge!! The chicken was very juicy and crunchy. The macaroni and grits were both very creamy and comforting. Those honey biscuits are heavenly and sinful at the same time. We also enjoyed the meat pies because they were seasoned well. The deviled eggs were good, but I like my filling a little more creamier than they have it. Overall, the food and the service were very good and I enjoyed my meal. I will really enjoy my leftovers later!
