Everything I have tried is amazing. This time I tried the coffee cake. Even though I ate it a couple days after purchasing it, it was still soft and perfect, so delicious. I’ve also had their peach cobbler & my favorite which is the banana pudding.

Tried the Oreo cheesecake and the vegan churro … AMAZING ! They were both really really good . I wouldn’t say its pricey but you pay for what you get. The customer service was really good as well she gave us recommendations and was very nice .

There closed with nothing in there display case. There was a worker inside however he never came to the door. I was very excited that this business was local, fresh baked cookies , puddings and such. Pricey are a bit high for some of there cookies and Desserts. It is unfortunate this new business seems to habe lack of communication with there consumers.

Love the cup cakes, I had the German Chocolate Cup Cake and the regular chocolate. 10/10 experience. I'm going back for the peach cobbler and the bread pudding.

I got red velvet cupcake, chocolate cupcake, cookies, and yellow cake w chocolate frosting. Omgoodness, everything was delicious! My favorite type of cake is yellow w chocolate frosting and this place makes the best I've ever had. So moist. The most perfect amount of sweetness. Actually, everything had the right ratio of frosting to cake. I'm going to go to the store next time. Can't wait!

I had been waiting for this place to open. It finally opened and did not disappoint.I've been there about 5 times since. My favorite is the lemon bunt cake. I also like the pecan bread pudding. It is a bit pricy but everything is pricy now these days. It is definitely my place to go for sweets.

These are truly homemade and are true southern girls. I should know I was born and raised on southern cooking.

Yelp
Yes I told my entire family Southern Girls Desserts is open!!!!! Many of Us were waiting for this spot to open there doors. Those of of Us who appriciate baked goods, Always eager to try Desserts right ? This is a new business and this is the 2nd store that was brought locally near me. It is located in a new plaza with other several businesses near by. Plenty parking no excuses to stop by and try a slice of pie pecan , sweet potatoe to name a few. . They bake and have fresh limited amount of cookies made in which they go fast. I come in generally after work to pick up a few Desserts and there cookies go fast. Same time they always have something available for every sweet tooth. Been here several times please do not kill the messenger. I was so excited to see Bunts available what !!! Butter Bunt even better was highly disappointed. Where's the Mositure at ? My bunt was dry ! passed it around for sharing others felt the same. However, the cheesecake oreo was delicious! Yelp
I went to try the new location in watts,ca. it was nicely decorated and very clean. You can tell that the staff is very new as one asked questions and two others were training. I've heard a lot about this company but never made it to their original location. Ok, so nice variety of flavors and options. I do think their piping technique is quite interesting but I guess it is their signature look. So I got : red velvet, marble, lemon, and sweet potato. Oh , also two cookies. Peanut butter was my fav and the chocolate chip tasted like McDonald's cookies . I want to say that the lemon was my favorite and next would be the sweet potato cupcake. But the marble cupcake was not good at all! And I want to say that all of the frosting are a bit too sweet... For my liking at least. So I laughed for a second and said maybe it's a good thing they don't put so much on top because it is a bit overpowering. I was taking pictures for my yelp review and one older lady stopped me and asked me what I was doing and told me she had no idea what yelp was and I told her well it is a review platform and I think you should look into it for the better good of your business. I am not sure if I will ever go back but I am not completely disappointed.

Yelp
I love Southern Girl Desserts. I'm glad this new location is closer to me. Everything is delicious and the staff is very welcoming. The sweet potato cupcakes and bunt cakes are my favorite. The banana pudding never disappoints. Today I tried the lemon ice box pie (I think that's what it's called) and it was amazing. My aunt used to make this dessert growing up. She passed away 7 years ago. After taking that bite I was reminded of that flavor I had missed all these years. With this location being 4 mins away from my job I will be visiting often.

Yelp
I've been looking so forward to this location opening up for a while, since I really haven't made to their original location over by the old mall l. I actually wanted to call either the owners of the managers and speak to someone directly before posting my review ,but you can't do this ,you only get a voice message saying if you have any questions or inquiries to email them ..so there is absolutely nobody you can talk to, or a live person that you can address an issue or complaint to, so here we go.This was pretty bad on ALL levels. Definitely nothing special about the cake slices, chocolate chip cookie and cinnamon roll ( which was absolutely unbeatable! The frosting either had shortening or oil which gave it a really bad harsh taste( this was definitely not buttercream! ). The cake bread had uncooked taste to it .. like it didn't fully bake . I'm not sure if it is the paper -molds they're using, but this was absolutely not eatable ( which ended up in the trash). The cookie was hard ( not soft or chewy) this what is one of those chocolate chip cookies that when you snap it in half . . . all the pieces break apart . It Had a small mouth of chocolate chips which didn't contribute to the flavor at all tasted pretty plain just like cook baked flower accompanied with chocolate chips. The cinnamon roll lacked ( kinda like the ones over at Sweet Red Peach on Prairie(these are really GOOD,they have the perfect balance of everything but definitely not worth the seven $7.00/price tag she sells it for) ..the one here at Southern Girl ..lacked brown sugar and cinnamon and sweetness it was completely hard and when you tried warming it up I got even harder in the microwave( this is not supposed to happen).! ! ! The only thing I enjoyed was the coffee cake which was good on all accounts. I definitely wish them all the success and hope they do well at this location. The place was super clean and the staff was pleasant. I was going to pick up some cupcakes as well ,but I'm glad I didn't, and considering everything I tried was definitely a mess ...! but nevertheless I wish them all the success they deserve.

Yelp
Honestly everything I've tried here has been bad. It's all too sweet. Banana pudding just tasted like pure cinnamon. Red velvet cake was dry and the icing tasted like pure sugar not even cream cheese. The peach cobbler again pure cinnamon and it looks liked cardboard. It's all very pricey and disappointing to be honest. If it was actually good I wouldn't mind the prices.

Yelp
Excited to have a new pastry shop in our neighborhood! Been following them on IG and fell in love with their amazing pastries. We tried the Chocolate chip cookie with walnuts and the sugar cookie, my boyfriend is hooked on the sugar cookies! Their coffee cake was also amazing! Reminded me of the famous LAUSD coffee cake I grew up eating and also the Homegirl cafe coffee cake but it's too far for me since moving to South Gate. I also really enjoyed my iced vanilla latte. I do hope they will open earlier in the future so I can grab a coffee before work (8:00am) but in the meantime I'll just grab some in the evening and save it for the next day. Really friendly staff and cute vibe. Will be a regual customer for sure.

Yelp
Would love to give a 5 star review but it is very inconvenient that they do not have a direct number for this location. I've tried to call before I drive 15 minutes to confirm they have what I want and they don't offer pickup ordering at this location. Every time I go the red velvet cake slice is not being made until 5pm. I've come 7 times to be told that they have ran out. Asked what time they usually have them made so I can come at that time and they workers sadly don't know what time the cake will be available. One of the workers was very sweet and offered me a frozen cake slice which was amazing after it defrosted.
