"Pie is the only dessert at Southern Kin in Somerville's Assembly Row, and there's a variety from which to choose. Available by the slice ($6) or whole ($34), the options include pecan, buttermilk, chocolate with peanut butter, key lime, peach, and blueberry." - Celina Colby, Dana Hatic

"Southern Kin Cookhouse is true to its name — there’s a whole lot of Southern food on its menu. The approach isn’t particularly focused on a specific Southern region (the menu isn’t made up of only food from the Lowcountry or only food from New Orleans, for example), and while that’s typically a gamble, it works at Southern Kin. Order the chicken and waffles, the shrimp and grits, the gumbo, the pimento toast, or the Mississippi-style catfish. This is a solid brunch spot, too." - Terrence Doyle

"A Southern-inspired restaurant at Somerville’s Assembly Row churns out dishes like chicken and waffles, fried green tomatoes, shrimp and grits, and fried okra, but the seafood melange of the frogmore stew lands Southern Kin on this map. It’s not a Vietnamese-Cajun seafood boil, and it doesn’t require a bib, but its mix of flavors — not to mention andouille sausage, corn, and a jumble of seafood — hit a similar note that’ll leave seafood lovers satisfied." - Dana Hatic

Google
Exceptional take on Southern cuisine. The Southern fried steak had a creamy Cajun flair, and the grilled catfish was a flavorful filling portion with plenty of black eyed peas and okra. Would definitely return.

This place was exactly what I needed after moving to the area recently, and the fact that I’ve been missing southern hospitality. Everyone was wonderful and I can’t wait to come back. My server was phenomenal between her positivity and recommendations, and the food did not disappoint. The chicken and waffles was delicious! My partner really enjoyed my peach french toast and I liked it too, but it didn’t suit my personal preference. I ended up eating more of his delicious chicken instead :)

Google
Their burger is pretty amazing, especially the fries! Food quality is 5 stars, but the service is maybe 3 stars because they never brought what I asked for. I had to ask a host to give me a napkin. The server didn’t seem to mind when we asked for utensils and a napkin and just left after serving us food.

Google
I will never be ordering the catfish from here again. The people that handled my order were nice but the food itself was not the same. I got an INSANELY small portion for a $25 meal and am very disappointed, and I honestly don’t think I’ll be coming back.

Google
I hadn't been to Southern Kin for many years but decided to go back for Father's Day brunch. The style of food is something I typically crave and is a staple in my house. I ordered the biscuits and gravy which came with fried chicken thighs and two eggs, as pictured. Individual components of the dish were very good and cooked perfectly, but the sausage gravy lacked any flavor and was just a puddle of cream. This was really disappointing since the whole dish was slathered in cream. To top it off we got a side of scrambled eggs for my toddler and, although plentiful, were inedible due to too much salt (we sent them back and they were removed from the bill). It was first thing in the morning but the kitchen was not doing well to send out such food.

Google
Roasted chicken was amazingly delicious! Service and atmosphere were great. Prices are doable. No need to have reservations on week days. Definitely recommended!

Google
Food was really enjoyable, but the service was pretty poor. We ordered grilled cornbread, devilish eggs, crab cake benedict and chicken on toast special. I appreciated the place was not 100% packed and hence we were not rushed with the bill and stuff. However, the service was surprisingly poor.

Google
Servers were pleasant and attentive The gumbo was excellent. Ive had better fried chicken. The food was good, but a bit pricey, although the brunch is a great option with good choices.

Yelp
We came super later but still had a great dinner. I got the chicken and waffles which I enjoyed. They do put jalapeños on so if you can't do spice I would ask for them on the side...I learned my lesson. Chicken is also on the bone just fyi. Overall solid dinner and a good addition to Assembly Row!

Shana S.

Yelp
Food is ok. Service is ok. The prices seem fair for the "just ok" food. I feel like this place used to be better. I can't say that the service is great, either. The place is clean.

Matthew B.

Yelp
I ordered Chicken and waffles here. They were out of this world. Everything on the menu was reasonably priced and the staff was really friendly. Great location with free parking in the garage next door. Will be back!

Yelp
Oh how the mighty have fallen. Ive had a special relationship with Southern Kin. Not only have I been coming since the beginning, when assembly row was only a fraction of what it is today, but my reviews for Southern Kim brought me recognition I had never experienced before in my early days of writing reviews. The southern cuisine landscape in the area was something like a culinary desert at the time. Along came Southern Kin with its big, bright, vibrant space. I used to bring friends and family here! A menu filled with southern favorites, none better than the chicken and waffles and the buttery biscuit. Over the years, things have seem to deteriorate. By not so much that I didn't go back. Others have given up but I always gave it another chance. 7 years later, I must sadly walk away. The latest experience was so far from quality, it's almost unbelievable. A southern fried chicken with no crispy breading. For the first time in my entire life, I asked for a new plate of food. A very similar piece of chicken was delivered on the second go round. Is southern friend chicken no longer crispy? A waffle that is as flimsy as a price of paper. A biscuit that has absolutely no crumbly quality, almost resemble a dinner roll. Another first? After almost 700 reviews, having to finally update 1 because the original no longer is applicable. It pains me to say, not only is the Southern Kin of old no more, but I can't even say it's of decent quality. Until things change, look elsewhere.

Yelp
Once you figure out parking meters, you r golden. Food awesome taste. Pork chop was pork loin served w sweet mashed green bean.short plate egg rolls. cocktail: tito bayou 5*

Cheyenne T.

Yelp
Pork chop 4/5 Flavorful and moist. A nice sear on the outside with a flavorful butter. The sweet potato puree was really nice too! Devilish eggs 5/5 Loved the bacon crunch and jalapeño. The yolk mix was pretty standard and tasty! Crab soup 4/5 Generous with the real crab meat and a great flavor overall. Just a hint too salty. Crab cake 2/5 The crab cake itself was pretty tasteless and kind of soggy. The corn and pepper mix with sauce was decent but didn't pull the dish together. Corn bread 5/5 Soooo good. My favorite dish. Really dense without being too heavy and paired with the butter and jam was perfect! Also dipped in the soup. Chicken n waffles 3/5 Chicken was dry but pretty tasty. The waffle was tasty with some scallions integrated in the batter, but soggy after soaking up the chicken grease. Service 3/5 friendly and pretty standard! Ambiance 4/5 a little dark but a nice atmosphere with music.

Yelp
I was so pleasantly surprised by how good Southern Kin's food was. Went here on a Sunday night close to closing so it was very quiet. It was group of us our waiter handled us with great attention and care. For the table, we ordered biscuits and cornbread, which both came with a side of butter and jam. OMG we're they so good! The biscuits were very moist and the cornbread was very moist a little dense and sweet. The corn bread reminded me more of a bread pudding but it was really really good! I ordered the Southern Fried Plate with mac n cheese and corn. The portion is HUGE, definitely enough to share or to have lots to have later. The chicken was little under seasoned and a little dry for my liking but the breading was very crispy. The mac n cheese was killer!! It was so creamy cheese, well seasoned and garlicky. The corn was the biggest shocker, it was sweet and a little spicy; very very good! I also got a sweet tea, which was sweet enough but still tasted like tea.

Yelp
I went to the Southern Kin @southernkin in Assembly, Somerville, MA, for the second time, and wow, what an upgrade in their food since March! Starting with the appetizers, the Devilish Eggs, boasting beet-cured eggs, bacon candy, jalapeno, and beet chips, were an absolute delight--one of my favorites with an easy 9/10 rating! The corn ribs, featuring roasted corn, cashew sour cream, aleppo chili, and toasted pecans, were nothing short of spectacular. My brother declared them the best corn he's ever had, and I wholeheartedly agree--10/10! The mac 'n' cheese, adorned with breadcrumbs, scored an 8/10 for its comforting twist, while the salad, while a tad standard, held its own at 6/10. The Fried Green Tomatoes, topped with crab, grilled corn, cherry pepper salad, and garlic aioli, delivered a tasty experience, although the corn did steal the spotlight a bit--7/10. Moving on to the large plates, the Shrimp n' grits, featuring andouille sausage gravy and cheddar grits, were a symphony of flavors. I especially enjoyed the sausage--7/10. We also tried their alligator tacos and these are so fun to try especially if you are an adventurous foodie like myself-trust me they taste like chicken 8/10 Dessert was a sweet finale, and you can't go wrong with the Chocolate peanut butter and peach pie slices. The chocolate peanut butter stole our hearts, and while the peach pie lacked a bit of fresh peach punch, it was still a delicious treat--8/10. In summary, Southern Kin has truly upped its culinary game, earning a solid 8/10 overall food rating. While affordability and ambiance both received a commendable 7/10, the diverse and flavorful offerings make it a must-visit for those seeking a delightful dining experience!

Yelp
The ambiance is southern cozy. The service is exceptional. The food is tasty and we left full. We ordered the biscuits and cornbread appetizers, shrimp and chicken wings. The biscuits are a must and we ordered extras to make breakfast sandwiches the next morning. The sides are flavorful with my favorite being the grits. We will definately return when in town!

Yelp
I've walked by this place a million times and finally went in. Service was really slow and I had to go up to the counter multiple times. For a Southern restaurant, they also aren't big on the Mac and cheese and it wasn't anything special (it wasn't even on the original menu given, I had to ask for their other menu to see it, despite the host saying otherwise). According to the menu they also use velvetta on the Mac cheese, that fake cheese cream thing?? The South would never. The chicken sandwhich was good though and my mom was obsessed with the cornbread but I wasn't a fan. The fries were awesome though. The space is pretty and convenient.

Yelp
Walked in on a slow night (9/14) where the restaurant was nearly empty. Waited at the hosts podium for about 7-8 minutes while no one came forward. A couple walked in behind us after the first couple minutes of waiting and decided they would try the bar. They sat down at the bar and the bartender ignored them for about 5 minutes. Again extremely slow night. When they decided to leave, we left as well.

Mike S.

Yelp
Cool vibe at this place. We tried a bunch of appetizers. Corn bread and biscuits were legit. The egg rolls were amazing. I didn't like the Mac and cheese but that was a cheese thing for me. The fried chicken was delicious. Service was slow despite it not being crowded but we had fun hanging out.

Kelly L.

Yelp
Assembly row is always a great place for some you time. Parking in the garage for 3 hours $3. Walked in to southern straight to the bar, started off with a botanical sangria,I swear it tasted like spring. Had the green fried tomatoes top with crab, a mixture of crunch and a tiny bit of heat. Second drink was the farmer's daughter no jalapeño for me, absolutely delicious. The taste was unexplainable in my opinion but refreshing definitely having this again. Frogmore stew was my main course, I asked the bartender a couple of questions which she was more than happy to seek her manager advice and was right on with her answer. The stew was heavy flavor but not overly powering the potatoes and shrimp in it. Looking forward to trying their gumbo as both my neighbors order it and kept raving over it. Dim lighting made it a great solo experience.

Yelp
corn bread is DELICIOUS. it has actual corn in it and is only mildy sweet. The butter paired with it has a pleasant undertone of cinnamon reminiscent of TRH butter. for a meal, I got the oyster sandwich which was just ok. I feel like it was more bread than filling which isn't my favorite.

Hannah C.

Yelp
Went there at 11:30am on a Friday and it was very nice. I loved the old style booths and the wood that was everywhere - place was cozy! The server was very attentive, which is always nice. AND THE FOOD WAS GOOD but so heavy for lunch! We got the Mac and cheese (which was very creamy and satisfying), the half and half basket of biscuits and cornbread (I preferred the cornbread tbh. It was dense and tasted of winter and sparkles and all things comfy when paired with the butter), and the spicy chicken and waffles. The chicken and waffles were good but definitely needed more syrup on the side. I'll want to come back to try the brunch! I'm eyeing those Eggs in Purgatory.

Nisha P.

Yelp
Everything we ordered was more delicious than the other. Service from our server could have been faster and more attentive but the rest of the staff was excellent. A mean chai espresso too!

Meghan L.

Yelp
The restaurant is clean and the ambiance is nice. The service here was wonderful which covers the 2 stars. The downside is that the food was subpar. The signature chicken and waffle--The chicken was crispy but doesn't have enough seasoning. The waffle was soggy but the flavor was good. Since the waffle was already soggy, when you add syrup on it, it's even more soggy. Benedict--The waffle was nice and crispy! But no flavor. I usually order a Benny as a safe choice for brunch but this was honestly the worst Benny I ever had. Ice tea--was perfectly sweet and refreshing. Overall I would not come here again and would not recommend.

Carline O.

Yelp
I have been looking for a place that has real fried chicken and waffle and haven't been able to find it until now. The chicken and waffle were on point, and the shrimp and grits with andouille sausage were so delicious not to mention the grilled corn bread with butter and jelly...who does that??? Southern Kin that's who....Mac and cheese was also delicious. Now our drinks were fantastic, especially the Chai Espresso Marrini.

Jasmine Z.

Yelp
Way better than I thought. The food was delicious and filling. I went for dinner and there was a wide selection of different dishes like fried chicken, ribs, corn bread, etc. The interior is well designed and it is a huge restaurant so it is definitely great for bigger parties! Can't wait to come back for brunch.

Mike F.

Yelp
The last few times that I've cone here, I've been disappointed with the service and food. We were ignored while waiting to be seated. Two women at the door watched us and kept looking to each other to see who should seat us. After someone finally decided to seat us, we were recommended sweat tea and waited to find out they were out of sweet tea.the food came out fairly quickly, and was underwhelming. Chicken was undercooked, waffles were dry and the crab cakes weren't good. The manager did come out to check on us a few times, but it didn't make up for the bad meals.

Candace S.

Yelp
I went against my better judgment and tried this spot. I'm sad to say I was a bit disappointed with my food and experience. The service was ok, but I felt we could have been checked on a little more. Regarding the dishes, we decided to get some apps to share to try some things. We found that they put corn in everything, I mean everything. The food came in about 20 minutes and was still served luke warm. Let's start with the good. The inside of the restaurant is nice, and they offer inside and outside seating. Although the biscuits were a tad overcooked and hard on the outside, the inside was fluffy and paired well with the butter and Jelly. We ordered jumbo lump crab cakes; however, they came out like pan-fried crab croquettes and served on a bed of corn sauce. I didn't care for them, but my sister said they were ok. We also got tacos, but substituted the Gator for shrimp. We were only given two pieces of shrimp per taco, and it was filled with corn and guac-- so it was more like a corn taco. Next, the fried green tomatoes were supposed to have crabmeat on them, but I couldn't taste it due to the massive amount of... (you guessed it)...corn on top. The tomato was dried out and cut so thin, so I could not cut into it. The flavor was a miss for me. Sad to say, I was not a fan of this restaurant.

Kelle G.

Yelp
Bucket of chicken isn't listed on the online menu, but ordered it to go for lunch today. Was told it served two, but it was definitely a single serving of chicken. One substantial breast, two tiny and overcooked wings, and a drum stick. It was difficult to divide fairly. The two biscuits were large but should have come with at least two breasts and a side order of greens or corn. Hardly a meal for one at $27 and a sad meal to share.

Jade W.

Yelp
Overall: 9/10 Highly recommend - Cornbread was my favorite. Very flavorful, not dry but slightly dense. - Fried green tomatoes were good. You could only taste a crunchy batter with corn and garlic aioli so don't expect a ton of tomato flavor. - Chicken was INCREDIBLY crunchy and juicy. You could get it with waffles or two sides. Either option is great. I wish there was a little more seasoning on the chicken. The skin and outer part were flavorful but the inside lacked a bit. - Collard greens had bits of bacon which was a pleasant surprise. Ambiance: not too loud nor too dark for a bar/restaurant setting.

Roland S.

Yelp
The service was amazing. Our fried chicken was tasty but one was undercooked. The manager comped it. Had the gator tacos that were unique and fresh. The house made sauces were on point. The place is really nice, like a modern steak house. Would love to come back and try other Mervyn items.

Kristin C.

Yelp
I LOVED everything about this place! Atmosphere, service, and food!!!! All AMAZING! Portions are large so be ready to take some home (everything reheats beautifully)! The chicken fried steak was the best I've ever had at any restaurant! The corn has a spicy kick to it which adds to its deliciousness! Mac & cheese was outstanding! I cannot say enough good things!!!! I will be a proud regular!

Jeff F.

Yelp
Average fried chicken, below average food in general. Slow, unattentive service, even when the restaurant was almost empty.

Jonathan J.

Yelp
went to this restaurant on 8/8/24 with my daughter. I ordered the Cheesy Grits, Alligator Tacos, and the Dirty Rice. Food was good, good portion size. Was able to take food home due to how much was served. As I got home to eat my left overs, I FOUND A DEAD ROACH in my dirty rice. That will be my first and last time eating there.

Pamelee W.

Yelp
We took a chance and was very happy with our choice. Customer service was great, nothing like being served with a smile. The Ambiance fits the theme of the restaurant Southern style with a touch of class. Infused flight of whisky was everything. Definitely will return, next time I am in Boston.

Sophia C.

Yelp
I do not recommend this place at any circunstancies! I was shopping with my friend and we decided to go in for a drink. the restaurant was empty and had no more than 3 tables occupied ! we ordered chicken wings and After placing the order, the chicken arrived in less than 7 minutes, completely raw and tasteless, looking like it had been heated in the microwave. I spoke to the waitress and she ask her manager came to the table to speak! I told him that I was surprised by the quality of that food, considering that the restaurant was empty, not justifying such negligence in bringing a chicken like that to the table! Maybe that's why due the quality of the food the restaurant was so empty!

Nabeel M.

Yelp
10/10 - great southern homey food. Very hard to find good southern style fried food up here. Felt like I was back home in the south. Started off with biscuits for the table. Great buttery flavor. My mouths watering thinking about them right now. Followed up with their Southern Fried Chicken, mac n cheese and fries. All of this was seasoned and garnished perfectly. Sweet tea was great, wish I could drink a whole gallon of it. The service was great and accommodating - I asked for Nashville hot styled fried chicken and they were able to make that happen without a hiccup. Reasonably priced as well. Will be returning when I need my fried chicken hankering.

Blake L.

Yelp
Super good although it can be hit and miss. Been here on a 5 night and also been when I'd give it a 2. It's really hit and miss with this place, some days the staff are on point and very attentive and some days it's like they're annoyed that you're there. Food is usually good but I've been on a day when the rice in the gumbo was hard and cornbread was burnt. Worth giving a shot.

Miranda G.

Yelp
This place has been on my lists to try for a while! The food was okay. The catfish was grilled to perfection in the Mississippi spotted cat. The chicken and waffles were also pretty good, but the chicken was pretty dry and the side of sauces didn't help very much with that. We also got their peach pie, which wasn't my favorite and lacked some flavor. The service was solid and I would definitely come back again and order some other interesting things on the menu!

Carmen R.

Yelp
Came here after seeing a movie with my wife in assembly. I got the half chicken plate which was great. We didn't get our drinks until we were pretty far along in our meal not sure what was going on because they seemed to be pretty fully staffed for what I've seen post Covid. Overall decent barbecue spot with a nice setting and outdoor seating. if I was just coming out from a movie looking for food I would come here again.

Kevin S.

Yelp
Food (0.5/2): We had gumbo and fried chicken. Not much to say but disappointment all around. The fried chicken came in 3 pieces. One was completely bland as if they've forgotten to add the spice. Another was over-spiced and was borderline inedible due to how salty it was (thankfully I can endure it). Last piece was ok and properly spiced. Came in for 3/3 well-seasoned chicken but got 1/3 instead... The gumbo was also a disappointment. Mushy shrimps and somewhat tiny sausages. The bits and pieces are also miniscule in comparison to the rice. The soup was also bland, under-salted, and 0 "spice kick"--like...nothing. I thought gumbos are supposed to make you sweat...? Service/wait-time/cleanliness (0.5/2): We came in late night so this might be a factor but it was still quite a disappointing experience. While we did get seated immediately (it was empty), our server took a long time before taking our orders. Afterwards, the food also took a long time, despite almost nobody around in the restaurant. At least their place is kept well-cleaned. Price (0/1): For the lack of consistency and just incredible disappointment of the general experience, the price paid was not worth it at all.

Robert A.

Yelp
Comfortable seating, excellent service, huge portions and modest prices. The food here is simply incredible. The grilled corn bread is to die for. We had Alligator tacos, grilled Catfish, brisket egg rolls and a burger. Everything was amazing.

Victoria T.

Yelp
Nicely decorated place, but the food was just okay. I got the chicken and waffles, and one of the chickens was good but the other was SUPER dry. The waffle was good though, buttery. The fried tomatos were good too. Honestly the best part of our meal were the sides, especially the dirty rice. I wish I could've just eaten a plate of that. The mac and cheese was good too, but not as good as the dirty rice. Everything also was super expensive. Those 3 fried tomatos were $18, and the ribs were ~$35, and the chicken and waffles was $23. Not worth it.

Lauren G.

Yelp
Stopped in for brunch while at assembly row. Oyster po boy was good not too many oysters though. Drinks were good as well- food wasn't impressive I was disappointment by lack of items. I think I'd prefer to try again for brunch menu versus lunch. Staff was nice !

Meg E.

Yelp
Great fried chicken and yummy cocktails!! Super friendly service. Will definitely be going back!

Jack T.

Yelp
Is this a joke? The location is prime, but this is NOT a must visit. If you know southern food, you will identify what is and what is NOT authentic southern food. This place also fancies itself as a bourbon bar. It isn't anything special. The service? A bunch of rag tags trying to look busy. I'm sorry, but I wouldn't give them my money a second time. It's about taste and value. There are FAR better places for authentic southern food. If only I owned this place. What a revamp it would be! I'd show Boston what the TRUE taste of the south can be!

John P.

Yelp
The ribs were ok, not great, and too salty. My pork chop was kind of tough and not very large. Service was good. Setting is pleasant. I liked the outdoor seating area. Some opportunities for improvement but decent enough overall and I would give them another chance.

Brian G.

Yelp
Despite some confusion with their hours on Google, this place was worth the additional 30 minutes we waited. We must have looked sad because they let us in a few minutes ahead of their scheduled open and were super attentive (they brought some cool spill proof cups for my kiddos as we sat down. Awesome service) Their brunch menu greatly satisfied a diverse group with varied dietary needs (to include needy toddlers and someone who believes chickens have feelings. Blasphemous) If it wasn't clear what camp I'm in on fowl feelings, I had the Biscuits and Gravy which came with delicious chicken thighs that were fried to absolute perfection. I also pilfered some of my wife's Chicken N' Waffles while she wasn't looking. To say we'll be back is an understatement, we're booking a hotel within walking distance next time.

Chris C.

Yelp
I love this place and habe been many times since my first review - the foods always first rate, service friendly, and ambience appropriately country-chic. The soundtrack is too twangy for my taste but that's a small quibble. Outsize space is great in thr rihht weather too. Excellent biscuits Wonderful chicken and biscuits Very Good gumbo and country fried steak I like this place - my only complaint would be it needs some low prices sides or small apps to add to the larger apps and plates

Chirag P.

Yelp
I was kind of questioning the prices at first, then I got the actual food. I got the half chicken with two sides combo (mac n cheese and biscuits). That chicken came fresh out of the frier, and was very well balanced and seasoned. The nashville sauce on the side is also as expected. Biscuits were great on their own, didn't really need the jam and sweet maple butter on the side. Very filling. Definitely coming back.

Casey A.

Yelp
I'm always surprised when I'm at assembly and remember this restaurant is there! I'm not sure why but I never remember that it's an option. It's not that it's necessarily bad either, it's just okay really. The food is okay but probably not mind blowing southern food. It's nice to sit at their bar to watch games or just grab a quick drink and not having to worry about crowds or waits. The meals are a little expensive I think, but their pies are really good.

RA J.

Yelp
It was my first time at Southern Kin Cookhouse. I got a seat pretty quickly for it to be a Sunday afternoon. The menu was clear and straightforward to read. All of the meals were on the front and drinks on the back of the menu. There were items such as shrimp and grits etc that came with bacon but I think most restaurants forget there are patrons that may not want bacon on their food. I ordered the fried oyster po boy sandwich. It came out pretty quickly. It came with seasoned fries. I think there could been more oysters on it. They could've been a little larger considering how much bread there is for the sandwich. There was plenty of lettuce, tomatoes, pickles and a lot of onions on it. I ate half of the sandwich. The other side of the sandwich, I just ate the oysters because it was too much bread. The large amount of onions over powered the oysters. The server for my table was very courteous and was on top of any additional request like when I requested regular mustard for my meal. The SUPER WEIRD part is that it is a "Southern" style restaurant but they DID NOT HAVE REGULAR MUSTARD???! Lol "How Sway?!" Regular mustard is a SUPER SOUTHERN thing. So I was shocked :/ to only get honey mustard. The pricing for the restaurant could be a little cheaper. $20 shrimp and grits is too much. Also the Po Boy sandwich was $20 with about teaspoon size oysters. They should choose a different type of oyster which is larger for that sandwich. But the meal was good especially the seasoned fries. The bathrooms were very clean and didn't have a smell like some places typically do. Also my plate was was chipped. To most people they may not think about it but the restaurants aren't supposed to be serving chipped or cracked plates, cups, etc. (HACCP).

Katie M.

Yelp
This was my first time coming for brunch. The Biscuits and gravy were delicious it was so much food I took half home. The eggs on top weren't even necessary and were a little burnt. The crab cakes Benedict was well presented but the eggs weren't runny at all like you would expect in a Benedict. Over all we will definitely be back service was great. The expresso martini was delicious but if you ran out of martini glasses, wait till you get clean ones or don't serve martinis. The photo included of the 3 finger pour was before I even took a sip I would be embarrassed to serve that even as delicious as it was. The vibes are good and so is the service.

Yelp
We came on a rainy Saturday afternoon and it wasn't too busy and we got seated immediately. I ordered the hot honey fried chicken and I thought it was like just the chicken but it's a whole two sandwiches with two whole biscuits. The sandwhich was hard to eat without the biscuit falling apart. The chicken itself had good flavor and was spicy, but tolerable. It was a bit salty for my liking but didn't ruin the meal. The portions are huge and I ate it for two satisfying meals. We also ordered the basket of biscuits, which were the same as the ones on my sandwich. The biscuits were okay in my opinion and a little flat which I wasn't used to. They came out hot though! Overall, I would recommend. The ambiance was okay, with a lot of families eating and not too crowded. The staff were also all wearing flannels, super cute!

Yelp
Fine food. There was mold in the soda nozzle so it wasn't drinkable, and it also cost $5.

Yelp
I was very excited because the reviews seemed pretty promising! A couple friends and I came for dinner on a weekday. Their menu is surprisingly more expensive than what they have to offer. We got the biscuits/cornbread mix basket, some gator tacos and cauliflower appetizer, as well as a grapefruit margarita. First off the biscuits and cornbread were AMAZING! They were the highlight of the dinner. The tacos were dry and sad. The cauliflower appetizer was pretty small. The drink was not bad. Not pictured is the assortment of pies! If you're looking for southern food, definitely come for the biscuits and cornbread and the pies, but skip everything else.
