I dropped off a trimmer 4 months ago, and they said they were out 4 weeks on repairs, fine, so I took one a new one home with me while the other was in for repair. First impressions were that they were busy. Good for business. At that time the young lady was unfriendly and irritated with customers. Okay, everyone has a bad day, maybe it was me. (not) Followed up a few times and got her on the phone and she was just brutally not customer friendly. Poor attitude. While I am sure my repair is as good as gold, the customer service is NOT. It takes nothing to say hello to a customer, ask how they can help, or just ask " are you picking up" The counter staff has the impression that customers are an inconvenient interruption, when they are the very reason that a business exists. Four months of waiting for my repair to be completed due to parts is one thing, but keeping a customer up to date every few weeks would go a long way, along "with a sorry it too so long, parts are tough to come by" would go even farther. The attitude was very offputting, and sadly despite my purchase, and repair I felt as if I was not welcome, much less valued. The mechanic out back was the friendliest guy in the place and should be working up front with the customer, not the young lady.

Great service and quality work. The item I needed was on back order but I was able to find it elsewhere and they installed it no problem, was back on the mower quickly. We have a Toro so being able to visit a licensed dealer and technician was important and they were very helpful.

They helped me get approved for my new mower, and without a doubt I’ll be coming back in 2026 for another one. 😎 Excellent service and highly recommended!

I had them work on an old Ford tractor. They picked it up and brought it back after the repairs were completed. They did a great job. Shout to Jackson for his great service

Great service! I bought a brand new toro zero turn and the staff helped me find the right mower for my yard. Hands down best service in southern Maryland!

Horrible place, stopped to look for a hammerhead go kart, guy with beard was no help, all he did was point and say what you see is what we got. Went outside and there was 2 outside but showed more On their website. Looks like it’s been sitting for 2 years as half the stickers were missing and the top was faded. Drove 2 hours and the guy wouldn’t take 30 seconds to help.

I live in Elkton, Md and found a Mahindra tractor that I wanted. I contacted Aaron and we literally did everything over the phone including financing. I am extremely pleased with how the whole process went and I will be back to buy implements

Very knowledgeable staff. Was able to help me figure out and get exactly what I needed for the work. I need to do my yard. Would recommend 10 out of 10.

Please don't waste your time or money with these people. No such thing of good old customer service anymore. Especially after purchasing an expensive chainsaw from them 11 months ago. The barely year old chainsaw would not start. I'm sure it was something very minor. The owner/manager told me 1-2 weeks before they could even look at it. Now this is after I explained to them I had a tree that fell in my yard and I really need someone just take a glance at it? Owner/manager stated, "it's nothing else I can do for you". Later that day, I drove 30 miles south to Milt's Sales & Service located in St. Marys County MD. Within 10 mins they had both of my chainsaws running no charge at all. Btw, it wasn't the fuel. I was so happy and pleased, I bought everyone lunch.. Now that's true blue good old American customer service. PLEASE AVOID PATRONIZING SOUTHERN MARYLAND OUTDOOR POWER EQUIPMENT!

I went in to get a wrench for my Echo weed wacker. I get home and it didn't work on my echo. I ended up using another tool. I won't be back.

The worst. I guess because I am a home owner, not a commercial lawn company, they don't really care about my business. I ordered a Cub Cadet through the CubCadet website (instead of going to a big box store) because I wanted to support a local business and cub cadet puts the orders in through the local dealer instead of going to a faceless big box store. HUGE MISTAKE. The website allowed me to select delivery, which I was also charged for, and I completed the transaction. Mind you, it took about an hour of calls to even get this accomplished. Then I get a note back from them telling me they won't deliver to Virginia. I am literally right across the river in Alexandria. I purchased a car online. Never talked to anyone on the phone. Negotiated the whole thing online and the car showed up at my house. But these people can't even sell me a lawnmower. I should be glad, I guess because I can only imagine the level of long term service I would have received from this outfit.

The customer service that I received was Horrible. I paid ($500+) for maintenance of my lawn tractor and all that I asked for was an itemized listing of the services performed on my paid invoice. This turned out to be a very unprofessional conversation with one of their representatives as well as "Amanda" who claims that she and her husband own the business. Amanda continued to interrupt me each time I tried to speak, etc. If I could, I would give less than 1 star on the customer service rating alone. Unfortunately, there are previous complaints that I did not read on Yelp from previous unhappy customers. I will not further patronize their business. I will inform my network of this experience with Southern Maryland Outdoor Power Equipment.

They could provide better customer service when there is a problem or dispute with a bill. I had an issue regarding my bill not expecting it to so high. They were not understanding and offered no customer satisfaction resolutions.

Ordered a part over the phone and was happy they could fill the order. Realized the part was not needed and tried to call to cancel. They declined due to it being a special order. Called back and spoke with the manager Amanda who advised the cut off time for any order they have to place (which is considered a special order) cannot be cancelled. But with some grace requested, Amanda was able to call the company and get the order cancelled. As a first time customer, I appreciate when a company goes an extra step. Will return.

Please do not bring your equipment to these people. I first went to them when they were "Tool Solutions" years ago and they were good for a couple of years. They changed their name to SOMD OPE (Southern Maryland Outdoor Power Equipment) after a few years, and have been a poor experience since then. I could write pages about my most recent experience, but I'll keep it brief. I brought in my riding mower for a tune-up, oil and filter change, blade-sharpening and because the engine was hesitating and stalling. I was very clear about that. When I returned home and looked at the work order, I noticed it said "Service 1" and that the engine was hesitating and stalling". I called to make sure that they were going to also do the rest of the work. They explained that "service 1" included the basic tune-up, oil and filter change, blade-sharpening and the hesitation and stalling text was for the mechanic's information about more detailed work. OK, that made some sense. When I inquired about the repair status a week later (why did I have to call THEM?), they told me the stalling was due to the 2 ignition coils were failing and needed replacement and gave me an estimate I accepted. Then when I called 2 weeks later, they said the carburetor and fuel line needed to be cleaned. That made sense about the engine stalling. So they did all that and called me to come get it. They had to jump start the engine and there was a bit of smoke as they brought it to my trailer. Well, I knew the mower was hard to start but thought a tune-up would fix that. And I asked about the smoke. The mechanic told me I should change the oil and get a new battery. What? This is a repair place. They should have replaced the battery if it needed to be replaced. And they were supposed to have replaced the oil and filter. But no, that wasn't on the work order. The mechanic (and the person at the front desk when I went in to ask) said "service 1" just meant "first problem". A second problem would have been "service 2". So the person I talked to originally was just "winging" it about what "service 1" meant. They offerred to do the tune-up, etc (in a month) for more cost of course. I had reason to think that was part of the original estimate. But there is no proof. I will NEVER EVER bring anything to them again. They are slow, they don't listen to what you want done, and they seem to be poorly-managed. Just my opinion based on actual experience...
