"From quesadillas to cheeseburgers, this restaurant with locations in Plano and Arlington has kid-friendly menus and spaces as well as more sophisticated fare for parents. It also an extensive brunch and breakfast menu, with all the omelettes and migas a grown-up could want and a kids’ menu of pancakes and waffles ." - Courtney E. Smith

Very veteran friendly. Went for brunch and the food was decent, wait staff was friendly and the table was sticky. Much older crowd here and it was very kid friendly.

I’ve been coming here for years, and Gigi is hands down the best. Her customer service is always on point—bubbly, attentive, and genuinely caring. She knows exactly what I like (and don’t like), and somehow always has my drink ready before I even walk in. It’s like she’s one step ahead every time. One time, from far away, she spotted a spill of coffee near my table. Before anyone else noticed, she ran to clean it up—like she has super-hearing or a sixth sense for keeping people safe and cared for. Gigi is a rare kind of amazing.

I love the good old-fashioned cooking at Southern Recipe! I had the clam chowder soup, delicious! Then I had the Friday lunch special, sirloin tips, and rice! I could eat this every week! Guljeen's attentiveness and service can only be matched by her beauty! She truly makes me want to keep coming back to try everything on the menu! 5/5

Unfortunately, I cannot in good faith recommend this restaurant. I would caution others and avoid this restaurant for your health and safety. My husband and I ended up getting physically ill after eating here, and I am truly not surprised by this. We were served a tomato with a rotting, moldy spot (photo for proof). We were served fried catfish that was sour (yes, SOUR) and had a "fuzzy" texture. We were served chicken fried chicken that had a large "slimy" section underneath the breading. All of these are major health concerns, and resulted in us not finishing our meals due to fears for our own health. Unfortunately what we did consume did result in what appears to be food poisoning within 3 hours of leaving the restaurant. As if these poor quality control and poor food handling concerns weren't enough - the food was also extremely bland. No evidence of seasoning we could see or taste. I had ordered cornbread, but we were instead given two of the most tasteless rolls I didn't even think were possible to make. The mashed potatoes had the texture of applesauce, the glazed carrots were just large chunks of unseasoned and unglazed boiled carrots, the green beans were watery and flavorless without even a hint of salt or pepper, and the baked apples were also watery and lacked any sweetness or even trace of cinnamon flavor. This restaurant is clearly severely understaffed, as we had two rotating waitresses who were struggling to keep up with the few patrons in the restaurant between cleaning dirty tables. One of our servers was very nice (tie-dye shirt, I didn't catch her name unfortunately), but that was the extent of positivity I can provide here. The restaurant is outdated and likely host to multiple health code violations just based off our visit. Not only was the meal horrific and flavorless - we paid much much more than money for this meal, the significant cost being the illness we received as a result of eating here. Significant changes need to occur for this restaurant to be safe to continue to operate. As it stands, this place needs to be shut down by the Health Department until corrective actions are made. Do not spend your money here, and do not risk your health eating here.

5 Stars – A Hidden Gem in Plano! On Easter Sunday, April 20th, I decided to try someplace new for lunch. Being new to both Plano and Texas in general, I don’t know of many dining spots yet—but I always keep an eye out for good “mom and pop” restaurants. I asked Google to show me soul food restaurants near me, and Southern Recipes Grill was the first to appear. I'm so glad it did! I arrived around 11:28 AM, just in time for their lunch specials. I chose the blackened pork chops with cinnamon baked apples, mashed potatoes with white gravy, cornbread, and a side of chicken gumbo. The food was hot, fresh, and served quickly. The portion size was huge—so much so that I took home a full meal: a thick pork chop, half the mashed potatoes, cornbread, and the gumbo. Incredible value! The service was just as impressive as the food. My server, Darin B, was absolutely wonderful—attentive, polite, and genuinely caring. She offered samples of the soups when I couldn’t decide, and even offered to pack up my gumbo so I could continue enjoying my meal without interruption. Her kindness and attention to detail stood out. When I told her it was the best pork chop I’ve ever had, she smiled and asked, "Will we be seeing you again?" That personal touch sealed the deal for me! Now, here’s the kicker: the total bill for all of that? Just $12.55, including tax! The price was not just reasonable—it was fantastic. I made sure to tip Darin well because she truly earned it. If you're in the Plano area and looking for delicious comfort food with exceptional service at a price that can’t be beat, Southern Recipes Grill is the place to go. I’ll definitely be back!

Google
Fantastic breakfast, bacon and eggs, and I’m picky with breakfast. I also ordered the fried zucchini appetizer and asked for buffalo sauce to dip. Delicious. Hostess and waitress were really nice, u can tell this is family-owned and they care:)

Quality homestyle fare at fair prices. Closed Thanksgiving, but serving up a perfect Thanksgiving turkey dinner the day before.

We travel for soccer and eat out in Plano 5 to 6 times a month. Southern recipes is an absolute gem. The staff was friendly and polite. Atmosphere was perfect. The food was incredible and the prices were very reasonable. We have a few go to places but they will be be moving to the top of the list. Large selection of delicious food, kids-friendly food, good service, and reasonable prices. Plano you are lucky to have them.

Janie L.

Yelp
Everyone in our family of 12 loved their food here and that's hard to find for us. I had the chicken and waffles with baked apples. All of it tasted like homemade Southern fare. Chicken was perfection. Portions are large. I took half home to eat later. Service was less than stellar; really slow, but no attitude problem. Once she got to our table; our waitress was welcoming, friendly, knew the menu well, and remembered who ordered what. We were in no hurry so not a big deal for us. If you are in a hurry, choose another place and save yourself that possibility. Looked like they may understaff so make sure you have everything you need before the waitress leaves the table. Ambiance was adequate. Nothing special. Five stars given is because our food was that darn good. I could have closed my eyes and dreamed my grandma was laying it out for us. HUGE props to the cook/chef. Well done Sir!

Daniel T.

Yelp
This place is a hidden gem. The food was good so was its portion. I had the house omelette and it was good. The waitstaff was attentive.

Matt P.

Yelp
There's nothing necessarily good or bad about this place. It reminds me of a local diner our family would visit on a Sunday after church. The usual breakfast and lunch fare, super traditional and respectful staff, and enough space for the kiddos. Not much of a southern vibe to be honest, and that's not a bad thing. Their bar area looks pretty promising though in case your sick of the local Applebee's crowd down the block.

Mark C.

Yelp
Really like the feel of this place. Lots of options on the menu. Breakfast and lunch are both awesome. Staff are friendly and service is good. Very reasonable priced. I Highly recommend this restaurant.

Marianna A.

Yelp
Great service and yummy food! Everyone here is always so nice and attentive. Lots of food options, there is something for everyone on the menu!

Glenda L.

Yelp
Food service is bad, waitress is rude and the cook does not care for well-being of the customers when diabetics or other health issues request No Seasoning!! They ignore all your special request!! Have been a regular customer and the food is not like it was since the Covid in 2020. Bad management has been a detriment also to bad conditions in cleanliness. We have returned to our better and cleaner restaurants, price is higher but is worth it. I would give a 0 star but it won't let you.

R M.

Yelp
Great food and great prices. Love the ladies who serve you but they are always overworked because management won't hire enough people. I'm a regular and will continue but someone needs to enlighten the management on their personal skills. The clientele is definitely older and then tend to talk too loud so don't go if you don't want to hear about their lives and grandkids and everything they don't like in America.

Jeri H.

Yelp
Great food. Great service. A little noisy. Close by. Decent pricing. Nice sized portions.

Judy B.

Yelp
Food and service were fine and I liked the variety and size of the menu... That being said, when my husband's pancakes didn't arrive with his breakfast, we asked one of the waitresses about it and she said, "Well I asked you when I brought the food out if you had everything you need and you said 'yes' ". Meaning that it was our fault the pancakes didn't come. Then she continued with some other rude condescending comment and walked away. Another SUPER NICE waitress named Gigi brought the pancakes.

Jay W.

Yelp
Showed up before 8 on a weekday. About 5-6 people here, all older, but its a weekday so hopefully everyone else is at work. It was nice and quiet except for one patron whose voice boomed across the floor. I found out alot about his upbringing. I didn't ask. Country omelette was very good. Grits and biscuit/gravy were also top notch. Coffee was ok, but they never let my cup get cold.

JD M.

Yelp
We have had three good meals here in the last week. Two dinners and my father in law had breakfast. We liked them all. The first visit was on a Friday evening and it was busy! Dinner on Monday was very quiet. They are open for dine in, carry out, and delivery is available through one or more of the "door dash" services, as I saw a few pickups while we were there. Please give this place a try if you like "home cooking" or breakfast!

Steve L.

Yelp
Went for my first ever breakfast here today. Did a ( make your own omelette - 5 ingredient ). Was totally delicious and a lot of food for the money. Big portions! I believe this to be the most reasonably priced restaurant in all of Plano. This is my new go to place. Beats the price and portion of my old go to place by a long long way.

Shahir A.

Yelp
If you're looking for classic comfort food for a great deal in Plano, look no further because this is the spot for you! I stumbled across this place with little to no expectations and was pleasantly surprised with the quality of the food and service. I ordered the breakfast special, which included all that you see in the photos, for only $7.99! My waitress was very attentive throughout my meal and came through with all the little things I needed without me having to ask. The food was hot, tasty, and paired perfectly well with the cup of hot coffee they gave me as soon as I sat down. My biggest praise of this restaurant is that you really get the bang for your buck here - I've never had a 6 item breakfast like this for only 8 bucks. The atmosphere was cozy and relaxing, and was a great place to start off my Sunday! Looking forward to coming back here soon to try out their other breakfast specialties.

Diana G.

Yelp
I used to dine at their restaurant when they were in in Richardson. I was thrilled to hear they they're now in Plano. The food, variety, value and service were excellent- as before! I had the Deluxe Salmon with salad and sides. I was glad to have the salmon served over spinach vs. rice. It was topped with at least a dozen shrimp, along with crabmeat.!it was excellent!!! My sister had grilled pork chops, with gumbo and sides. We're planning to return soon. I highly recommend this restaurant!

Cynthia S.

Yelp
This is a great spot if you wanna return to your 1979-80s diners for some great home cooking complete with period decor. The home cooking is delicious in a very traditional way. The catfish special on Friday night is definitely worth the trip. This is not a fine dining restaurant where you wear a suit and tie. It's a place to go for some HomeCookin that'll bring back memories.

Kerry H.

Yelp
Great weekly brunch... amazing prices and good is great !!! Tried lunch specials too and actually enjoyed their side salad...it was very fresh and tasty ! Service is super. Small town cafe atmosphere!

Blue H.

Yelp
Friendly service and delicious breakfast for a large group. Everyone enjoyed their breakfast. We will return.

N B.

Yelp
This place is giving my longtime favorite breakfast spot a run for its money! The House Omelette was fantastic, and came with SO MUCH FOOD! It was like a meal for 3 people! Service is very friendly, and prices are great! Will be back for dinner.

Jana B.

Yelp
This has been on my radar for years, but first time here. FOOD: Lots of good options on the menu when we came for brunch and the pricing is super reasonable for the amount of food you get. Many in my group of 14 got the weekend brunch special and got an insane amount of food. I opted for 1 egg, over-easy, hash browns and tomatoes. All of it was perfect and the coffee was great. ATMOSPHERE: It is obvious they are able to keep prices low as the decor is very dated, menus stained and frayed. Then again, who cares, this place is a great neighborhood "go-to" for just good American comfort food. SERVICE: This is where they got a deduction. NOT because of our waitstaff, the two ladies that took care of us really, really hustled. Orders were all correct, coffee cups always full and just great service. The problem was the restaurant could have used another couple of waiters there. We were not in a hurry, but turnover for a restaurant is critical. TIPS: Definitely check this place out, just expect to hang around a bit.

Tam E.

Yelp
My husband and I were in the area and we like to support local restaurants. However we won't be back. We were charged higher prices for items than was reflected on the menu. For example, the iced tea was supposed to be $1.99 according to the menu but I was charged $2.25. I know it's not much but to me it's the principle. When I brought it to the waitress's attention she basically told me that because I ordered sweet tea there is a surcharge for the sugar. My husbands sandwich we were charged a dollar over the menu price.

C S.

Yelp
Update: came for lunch meeting. Service great but we were seated near kitchen and they all threw the dishes into the dirty bin instead of taking the extra 2 seconds to place quietly. Obnoxious and ruined our meal. Couldn't talk over the noise. More miss than hit with this place.

S W.

Yelp
Greetings! Ordered here via UberEats! What an awful smell of the pork chops! Couldn't eat it! I will not be eating here again! Not sure what the problem is but. The smell of the pork chops were not great. Cornbread was hard. Mashed potatoes and coleslaw were bland. I ask for the salad dressing on the side and that didn't happen. Meat juice was completely all over the bag.. salad had some old lettuce!! Soooo disappointing. Read some of the reviews on Yelp and maybe I ordered on a wrong Friday evening. Will not take a chance and try this place again

Hank H.

Yelp
My wife and I ate there for the first time today and we found the food good in the service excellent

Deirdra T.

Yelp
This is a hidden gem. The food is as close to home cooking as you can get. Healthy portions for the $. Everything I've tried as been so good. It's hidden away by the old Colin creek mall thats under renovation. The staff is nice and always tries to please. Please give them a try.

Sarah J.

Yelp
The food was mediocre and our drinks were empty. We watch our sever refill another table but not us. They also forgot to give us our salads. One good thing another server gave us drinks Togo. Will not be returning

Laurie F.

Yelp
We have had doordash deliver several times and have enjoyed every meal! Home cooking right to your doorstep!

L Minton R.

Yelp
Food is plentiful and the staff friendly, but very ordinary and mediocre food. The cornbread was dry and crumbly, the cinnamon apples were so sweet you thought they were pure molasses. The piece of meat served to me was cooked properly, but of it was fat and gristle. The salmon ordered by my wife was good and they had snapper on the menu which is unusual for DFW. I think they are better a a sandwich shop and specialize at breakfast as they are are waiting room only for Sunday breakfast and brunch. Next time we will go back for breakfast and believe we will be very happy.

James H.

Yelp
The service in this place is garbage. Walked in Saturday morning at 8am and stood by the door for five minutes. People walked buy us constantly and we weren't greeted. we sat ourself and no one greeted us. Sat at the table for 15 minutes while everyone walked buy us. No idea how the food is since no one bothered to serve us. Must be the overwhelmingly elderly population in here they care about because they sure as hell don't seem to care about anyone else. Edit: 8:40 three waitresses came running in and started to serve us now. Ill update this if my experience improves.

Kurt V.

Yelp
So glad this place just moved rather than closed down like I thought they had! This was a great little breakfast spot in Richardson for years that just moved up north a bit...same folks, same food...so excited!

John C.

Yelp
Bless Your Heart. Went there on Sunday after church. Looks like they retained the décor from Campari's. There was food on the floor right next to the chair they asked my wife to occupy. Sadly we complied. Suzi's Tilapia with the shrimp and supposedly crab topping was overly salty. Her salad was generous and tasty. My country egg breakfast was good as was the cornbread and 3 pancakes. The staff had messy hair. They did wear masks. On our way out of the restaurant, I felt my shoes sticking to the blackened carpet. Can't imagine what the kitchen cleanliness' might be.

Troy K.

Yelp
We decided to try Southern Recipes with a group of 10 people and I can't recommend it. It was Saturday evening, yet there was only one waitress and she was having a really rough time, but it really wasn't that busy? The food was still good and only a couple of mistakes were made, but they didn't even have enough menus for our group...we had to share and it just felt weird? I hate to give the waitress a hard time, because she had to be new and was by herself, but she stood in one spot at the end of the table and took everyones order without moving, making it very hard to get the orders heard. Anyway, the food was okay, but we did not enjoy ourselves. We will still be back, but never in a larger group than 4 people.

Kenton W.

Yelp
Homey environment. I get the chicken fried steak every time. Very good for the price. Comes with 2 sides and a soup/salad. I don't care for the salad, but the waitresses were very helpful in picking sides. They'll shoot you straight if you ask which way to go.

Sean C.

Yelp
Every time I come here food is good. You can really tell most of what your eating is fresh made there. There are a few things that are a hit and miss. I don't know what it was but ketchup last time tasted sour. Over for the most part. It was pretty good there. If you love salads my wife thinks the salmon salad is the best salad ever eaten any where. Catfish is on point and when claim chowder is the soup of the day (Friday what I for sure know) it's pretty good

Mathew P.

Yelp
Walked in, was not that busy. Hostess sat us quickly. Menu was good pricing. Took a while to get our drinks but, coffee was hot. I had the cajun omlete (steak, mushroom, onion, green pep and cheddar cheese topped with hollandaise sauce. The dish came with multiple choices. I had biscuit with gravy, smothered pot and fruit. Over all food was excellent. Definitely would be coming back. Entire check was 23.76 with 2 people eating and they're not shy on the portions.

dean d.

Yelp
So it's a diner, and not a chain: the kind your parents or grandparents used to go to when eating out. That's it, no magic, family owned, you either like that format or not. These folks used to be at a dumpier location the last time I dine with them so this location is an improvement. Like many mom-pop diners service may be great or lousy, food is either spot on or misses. This day I went for one of the specialty omelets and enjoyed it, but service was spotty bordering on absent. Oh well.

Jeff T.

Yelp
This place is great!! I have never had bad service here, and the food has always been delicious. I had the chicken fried steak, had great flavor, with mashed potatoes and Black Eyed Peas. The food here is really good, I don't get the bad reviews, and think perhaps they are from a competitor of theirs. I have never had a bad meal here. I ate here last night, and the waitress, who was slammed last night, was still very friendly and attentive. I guess some people just like to complain if someone doesn't wait on them hand and foot, the service here is fine, regardless of what others have said. It is a no frills place as far as how it looks, the decor is plain, but so what, do you really care what the decor looks like when you want good food? I know I don't. I will continue coming here, the food is fantastic!! It is a hidden gem in Plano.

Rodney B.

Yelp
Great food for the price. Angela is the best waitress ever. She's a one woman show. Great weekend and weekday specials. Waffle's, pancakes and more.

Sheri W.

Yelp
This is a find! Our book club has decided to meet here on Saturday for lunch about once a month since our first visit. It has never disappointed and we never tire of the menu. I've never been for dinner, but breakfast and lunch are awesome. The bacon is so tasty you won't believe you didn't fry it up yourself. The sausage, gravy and biscuits are the best I've had. The gravy is tasty without being peppery, the biscuits huge and fluffy. Toss a couple of scrambled eggs in, and you've got a down home rib sticking breakfast on the cheap. Even the sandwiches are big and delicious. Who would have thought that a Reuben sandwich from a southern cafe could be as good as a deli's? The service is always a little slow, but friendly. We never mind since we are always gabbing and hardly notice. The check coming slowly though, as everyone knows, is just wrong. And these checks come slowly. Very slowly. Will we be back? Oh HECK yeh! (Like this weekend!)

Jenna B.

Yelp
I wanted to give this place a try especially since Black Eyed Pea is now closed for good---I had low expectations, and this place was even worse than I could have imagined. I was appalled at the green beans & corn--how do you mess up whole kernel corn? It tasted like they dumped sugar into canned corn & served it to me. The green beans were straight from a can (probably Members Mark from Sams Club) and they had no seasoning what so ever. My chicken mushroom chicken was slightly undercooked. The hostess was wearing a hoodie! My husbands steak was grossly undercooked even though he ordered it medium well. The steak was the fattiest NY strip I have ever seen; he ate like 4 bites and couldn't touch the remaining. The waitress knew he didn't like the food & offered a free meal, but he declined. We paid for our $39 meal and we wound up eating popcorn from Target as our real meal. I am so disappointed in this place because I feel like they didn't even try to have good food. All you really have to do is have good food & a professional wait staff--the location doesn't matter & the atmosphere doesn't even matter. People will come if there is GOOD FOOD. Save your money and just visit the Cotton Patch or Cracker Barrel if you want a southern meal. (both those places are cheaper!) I'm sad to say this is the worst dining experience we've had in 2016--and I wanted to find a place in PLANO that I like! This restaurant will go out of business soon because there are too many other restaurants competing & this place offers crappy, over priced food in conjunction with unprofessional employees. Sorry.

Aaron S.

Yelp
Very serviceable meal, waitress was super nice, food was very tasty. The decor felt super dated and it is not a pretty looking establishment, but the crew is like a family and they do their part to do their job to the best of their ability.

Shannon S.

Yelp
I just recieved my order that I placed through ubereats and it is all wrong and unfortunately I cannot contact the restaurant the order was placed through because they closed before the order arrived. I order two orders of the fried catfish that was supposed to come with 4 fillets and they both only had 3, I was forced to pick a specific side but in the notes I made a note of what I actually wanted. The French fries are absolutely horrible and these are the chips that are left after all the actual fries were cooked. I asked for rolls but recieved 6 pieces of cornbread that i did not want, and I paid for a drink that I did not recieve. Not ordering from this place ever again.

James A.

Yelp
CFS is good. That makes up for a lot. Potatoes and gravy tasted like they were powdered. Service was molasses slow

Ruth C.

Yelp
The breakfast here is the best in Plano ! (And we have tried them all) The atmosphere is okay but the food is always fresh and well prepared. The waitstaff is always friendly and prompt. Angela hustles and does an amazing job. After eating there a couple of times Angela made a point of remembering what we liked and came to the table with our drinks before we even ordered. She checks on us many times through the meal and always asks if we would like to go drinks.

Jackie N.

Yelp
It wasn't awful but wasn't good either. The chicken fried steak was totally absent of any taste as was the cabbage I got as one of the sides. The best was the salad, which had crispy lettuce, cucumbers, and peppers, and the French fries as my other side. Two others had the chicken fried chicken, one had chicken fried steak and all agreed it was tasteless. Apparently they don't use any seasoning whatsoever in their food. Two others had fried shrimp and they said it was ok but their mashed potatoes were barely warm. Too many other places to eat to bother going back!! PS: Cornbread was also lacking any flavor.

Joseph Paul D.

Yelp
Wonderful down home Southern food. I have been a customer for 30 years. Delicious breakfast lunch or dinner.

Magan G.

Yelp
This place was awful!!! We went on 12/5 and had the same bad service as the other reviewer. I don't know if it was just that night but I have a feeling it's every day. As the other reviewer said, once our drinks were brought to us, it took a while to have our order taken. I actually witnessed this happen to another couple as well (not the people in the other review because there were only two of them) and they just walked out. My husband and I ordered tea and my stepson ordered water and it all tasted strange. Usually tea will mask a bad water taste but they didn't make the tea strong enough. For dinner, I ordered the pork chops with a baked potato and gumbo to start. The gumbo was good except that it was cold and the pork chops were like eating leather. The best part of the meal was the baked potato. At least something was good. My husband ordered a steak and ate it but didn't seem to enjoy it. He said it had a lot of fat and little taste. My stepson ordered salmon and mashed potatoes and he ate it but that was more because he was hungry not because it was good. They both agreed that it wasn't worth returning. After the meal we again had to wait for the check and wait for our card to be run. This wouldn't have been a big deal if they were actually busy, but they weren't. We will never return. I highly suggest that future patrons avoid this place or be prepared to have long waits for service and bad food.

Glenn B.

Yelp
I have been to Southern Recipes for breakfasts, lunch, and dinner. After multiple visits, it's time for a review. Discovered this place on Yelp! and wanted to try it. Dinner was OK for what I ordered... Chicken fried chicken. Cooked well, good breading, minimal flavor. Got the sampler appetizer and that rocked. So a good balance. Lunch was so good. Got the chopped beef steak with onions and brown gravy, mashed taters, and green beans with beef stroganoff soup. Beef steak had great flavor and the stroganoff soup was a surprise hit for me. I want some right now. Lol. Breakfast. This is the star of their menu. Hash browns are the best I've had anywhere. Crispy top, soft middle. Gravy is very flavorful, and the pancakes are the best. Fluffy, not gooey and the syrup is very complimentary to the overall pancake experience. Oh, and try the flavored apples. Nice bonus. The service is friendly, attentive, and gets it right. Never a bad experience. Felt like they could just sit and join for the meal and I'd be ok with it. Bottom line : inexpensive menu, great choices, good food and best of Bfast and lunch food. We'll be back.

Steve R.

Yelp
I don't give many places 5 stars but I feel this place earned them. The food was excellent, the atmosphere was excellent, and the service was excellent as well. I noticed someone else gave them a poor rating because of their enforcement of a coupon. That is ridiculous. Any business has a right to put restrictions on their coupons and most do. The fact is their food is great the service is great and that's why you go to a restaurant.

Steve G.

Yelp
I've been coming to Southern Recipe's for several years now and have always gotten great service and the food is terrific! Last year they hosted our model railroad club's Christmas dinner with around 60 in attendance. Everyone raved about the food. Fast forward to this year. I speak with Angela and asked her if they would host our club again and she said "Of course, happy to." A few weeks later she calls me to say they're short staffed, but if we could come earlier, 5:00 PM instead of 6:30 the would do it. I told her I would check with my membership and see if they were OK with the earlier start. Everyone said sure. I call the restaurant to let them know we're fine with the time change. Gigi answered the phone this time and I tell her we're good with going with 5:00 PM. She said "Didn't y'all try to find somewhere else?" I said "No, Angela said if we would come at 5:00 PM it would be fine." Gigi said to call Angela and talk with her. I called Angela, left a voicemail and 2 minutes later Gigi calls me to say "We don't have a bartender. You need to find somewhere else." This is one week before the dinner and now I'm being told to find somewhere else! I really hate trashing a restaurant and staff that have been so wonderful for years, but this is simply unacceptable. We comply with their request and then have them tell us we need to go somewhere else. Very poor customer service and being lied to as well. As good as the food is they just lost a very large dinner party and several loyal customers.

My first visit. I ordered the chicken fried chicken and it was perfect. The chicken was moist, not dry like some places. Mashed potatoes and gravey, fried okra and to top it off, cornbread. Great comfort food. I can't wait to try their breakfast. The staff was friendly, and the restaurant was very clean.
