Great little pizza place with a salad bar? Amazing to find such a gem and good prices to match the food! For a Thanksgiving weekend they had very little staffing but our food came out hot and the server was more than accommodating.

I love this place. They have the best gluten-free and cauliflower pizza, such reasonable prices and great quality.❤️ I am gluten-free and my boyfriend is not And it’s also his favorite place! The margarita pizza is to die for their vegetables and all the ingredients are so fresh and my boyfriend loves his pepperoni, pineapple and jalapeño pizza❤️ They also have amazing salad and appetizers. I wish I can eat the rest of their food.😎 Also, their staff have always been so helpful and amazing. They’re always so positive and I love their vibes.! Today I made a an order over the phone and JoJo helped me and he was the sweetest and most helpful person ever!!! Thank you everyone that works there and the owners. I love your place.

Great food, the pizza is a little on the spendier side. Great beer prices though so its worth it. Fun atmosphere. The garlic cheese knots are yummy!

I tried this place for the first time tonight and I was super impressed! Very good crust and great JoJo's as well. They make a homemade ranch with a slight dill taste, also very good. Best pizza in Albany, hands down. Glad I checked it out!

Great place glad we found it based on the suggestion of the gentleman that owns the plant store downtown. The service was great. Awesome atmosphere with plenty of TVs playing sports. Tons of old sports memorabilia. Also a nice outdoor seating area. The food was great the beer selection was good and the cocktails looked great too. A great spot for sure. Right next to The Barn Foodtruck pod...so glad it was Sunday because The Barn was closed, that's how we ended up at Southpaws!

We celebrated our daughter's 13th birthday at Southpaws last Saturday night and had the best time. The food was amazing, as usual, and service was great. We had a variety of pizzas and our favorites are the BBQ chicken, Bulldog and Redhawk. The salad bar was loaded up delicious. Ashley, our server, was very attentive and sweet. We had around 40 people in our group and reserved the back room for the party. We had plenty of room and were able to come early and decorate. We love celebrating birthdays here, getting delivery or take out and just enjoying family dinner while watching a game on the big screen. While we were enjoying our food and birthday party, the owner, Chris Reese, stopped in to wish our daughter a happy birthday. I can't say enough about how thoughtful Chris is. He is a servant to the core and has done (and is still doing) so much for our community through his coaching, volunteering, leadership at the YMCA and service as a US Army Veteran. I know he has a hand in so many other organizations. He is also very generous donating food from Southpaws and Shortstops (which is also great and has amazing shakes and burgers!) to schools and youth groups, for example. A few years ago, I witnessed him quietly drop off at my school cleats to a student who needed them, using his own money, just to help out a student in need. His mentorship to so many kids, including my own son, has been instrumental in building their personal growth. I just wanted to take a minute and share a little appreciation for a great restaurant in Southpaws and its owner, Chris Reese (and family). If you are able, you should stop by and eat or call in for delivery!

Been to Southpaws two times now recently. The first time I had an all you can eat salad, which was good. My husband ordered a ceasar salad and asked for warm chicken with it. What he got was cold chicken and a horrible dressing, not the right type for that type of salad. Two weeks later, I stop by there to get a chicken salad for a friend. I asked for romaine lettuce but what I got was spring mix lettuce. I am not a happy camper. I do not recommend this place. Across the street and go to the Barn, way more choices.

Pizza is ok would go back ... however be aware of menu prices.. as an after thought I decided to get some wings to go. Our waitress asked 5 or 10pc . I didn't really even think about the price and she didn't say... wholly crap was I in for sticker sock when I was charged $27 dollars for 10 wingetts... I'm still gasping for air...

The pizza was amazing definitely recommend bbq Maui with added jalapeños . 1st off they use fresh ingredients .... Real nice !! The service was exceptional !! Our waitress Ashley went above and beyond to make our experience memorable. She was friendly, knowledgeable, helpful, and efficient. She knew the menu well. This girl needs a raise, she's earned it! The atmosphere is fun and inviting with a sporty ambiance and cool wood tables. Bathrooms were clean. The only thing I'm confused about is where can I add an extra star !!

We went here for dinner today ordered a bull dog pizza It was out in 5 min?? The crust was thin and dry like cracker almost What happened to the crust ???? No bubbles no rise just crunchy I was not impressed

We ordered personal pizzas for a team lunch and I loved mine. I got a chicken bacon artichoke and it was the perfect size. Really good price too!

We have lived here for while and never gone to this place assuming it was "just a sports bar". It's truly not it's got a great and super clean salad bar, it has amazing pizza, you can get burgers and other things as well & the wait staff was so nice. Warning for those who are noise sensitive when it's busy it can be loud but not overwhelmingly so. Loved it and deff will be back!

Great customer service and I order the hall pepperoni, half Canadian bacon cooked well done. Fantastic! Have had many pies there and don't disappoint

Excellent service and seating options. I love sitting at outdoor patios and they have a really nice space here. The salad bar was better than expected. Pizza was great! Thank you for accommodating my non-dairy request. Try the huckleberry margarita if you like enjoying life.

It's hard to believe there's still an actual GOOD salad bar available, but here it is! Lots of good stuff in the salad bar, plus two choices of soup ($9 for one time through). Husband got the equivalent of an Italian grinder sandwich with fries and it was also good. There was one waitress there on a Thursday evening, and she was majorly hustling. Very happy with the experience!

Pizza is always good. Fast service. Great atmosphere. Drive thru is great for getting a pizza for home.

I don't know how this place can get less than 5 stars. Came here on a weekday with family for lunch and it was empty. Big TVs everywhere. I can only imagine how great it is to watch a big game/fight here. Also this place is HUGE. No complaints on the pizza; it was delish. Staff was nice with a few cutie-pie waitresses. Would come back fosho.

Poor quality. I ordered twice pizzas to go and the quality is horrible. Well below $10 Costco pizza. Pizza Amore is 2x better, and Cirellos in Corvallis is so much better. I won't buy South Paws again.

Was pleasantly surprised at how good the pizza really was! This was just a spur of the moment decision because our original restaurant plan was closed for the day. We were allowed to dine "in" only because they have a covered patio that has multiple propane heaters. It was comfortable, not quite what I'd consider cozy though. We had lunch a little after two and I'd say that with restrictions and distancing it was at capacity. Wish we'd known that before 2pm there is a pizza/salad lunch special! The waiter was capable but wasn't really that personable. Seemed like he was a bit too in the zone to make the effort to do more than take our order and bring us the food and check. Everything was accurate though and the wait for the food wasn't very long. I had a personal sized pizza called the Sweet Maui, though there are plenty of other options. Basically it was a fancier Hawaiian pizza: bacon, Canadian bacon, pineapple, tomato, a sweet honey sauce, chicken. It was the perfect size, not too thin of crust, it was soft and delicious! Would definitely order it again. It had a decent amount of toppings and cheese. The salad was a normal house salad and the half size was more than enough. We also had some tots and for the size they were well worth the quantity and weren't over salted or seasoned. They also give you plenty of ranch (ketchup if you ask). Over all was a great place to eat and would certainly return for lunch or dinner in the future. Altogether for the food and a glass of wine it was only $22 plus tip. Enough food for two average appetites.

Great pizza, great service and lots of tv's. I'd recommend this to anyone and everyone older and younger.

Disappointed in changes. -not a family restaurant anymore; more focused on sports bar atmosphere -no kids menu -no kids activities like crayons -customer service: waitress did not check on us I filled my own drink cup, requested more dressing for the salad bar, and had to find someone for an extra plate. -decline on quality; wings and chicken strips were smaller in size and portion compared to 3 months ago

The pizza was good. That's the only positive I can list. They lost our order, they admitted it. But the problem lies in the fact that they didn't even check on us to see why we had no food when asking about drinks. Them we were offered 5 bucks off for the mistake, but on the bill there was no discount. Gave up, left a small tip and left. This was our first and last time there.

First time at Southpaw's and I am completely satisfied, well beyond satisfied to be honest. Always looking for a dog friendly location and this place is not only dog friendly, but the service is exceptional as is the food. Personally, I tried the veggie pizza, trying to keep to my diet lol, and it was amazing as you can from the photo.

We have been there a few times. We seem lucky to get Maddie each time. She was so busy and still somehow made us feel like we were her only customers . She was so sweet and friendly. Our food was amazing. And for as busy in a Saturday night we had a very small wait and our food came out petty fast. Love coming to this spot.

I would very much like to commend the staff at this establishment. Irving and Travis are leading by example. The employees BRE and PAIGE were outstanding with customer service and cleaning ! As a family and on a date night we have been there twice! The pizza and wings are good and it was nice to have a salad bar. The waitresses and bartenders are very attentive and have eyes on their patrons! Also the kamikaze shot I had was primo!!

This pizza is garbage. Probably the worst pizza I have ever had. When Southpaws first opened it was great, but the quality has continued to deteriorate. The pizza crust on this was like cardboard. Honestly, freezer pizza from the IGA would be better than this. See photo for proof.

Love this pizza place. It's a sports bar old school pizza parlor great for groups. Patio is dog friendly and roomie. The business supports schools and youth athletics. We love that. Will 10/10 return.

Trystan thanks for a positive experience today. The food was phenomenal! Pizza tasted great the garlic Parmesan rolls were so good the cheese just melted in my mouth. The green salad was absolutely fresh ingredients. Thanks for an awesome experience.

We had a large family gathering funeral reception and everyone seemed to like their pizza that they ordered. We ordered the B.B.Q. Chicken pizza and it was amazing with a thin crust that we enjoyed.

One of the best pizza places in Albany, hands down, you won't regret it. We typically order the Bulldog and Perfect Chicken pizzas, we love them.

Southpaw's Perfect Pizza and Sports Pub (I have only tried take-out). Normally, I prefer take-and-bake pizza, but I was buying lunch for a group of hungry, demanding and pretty-much unforgiving coworkers, so I took the high road, acceded to their demands, and ordered take away from Southpaw's Perfect Pizza and Sports Pub. And I am sure glad I did. The Pizza was spectacular! I ordered three different kinds, and they were all really really good. I tried The Rebel (Family-size (18-inch), $26.99 / Pepperoni, Canadian Bacon, Bacon, Salami, Italian Sausage, and Mozzarella Cheese); The Bulldog (Family-size (18-inch), $24.99 / Italian Sausage, Pepperoni, Salami, Canadian Bacon, Mushrooms, Black Olives, and Mozzarella Cheese); and the BBQ Chicken (Family-size (18-inch), $24.99 / Grilled Chicken, Tomato Slices, Red Onion, Feta Cheese, and Mozzarella Cheese). I choked a little on the price ... I could have gotten eight Costco pizzas for the cost of Southpaw's three ... but they have varieties Costco does not offer, and frankly, they are much better. Four Stars.

Taste = 4 stars Attitude = 2 stars Getting the order right = 2 star. Pizza really is quite flavorful. Too many times have I had pizza that doesn't have any kick or flavor. Plenty of toppings, and they seem of good quality. They should include or offer taco sauce packets for the taco pizza I did pickup and the person on the phone seemed put out that I asked for extras. I asked for sour cream on the side, and no tortilla chips on on the taco pizza. When I went and picked it up they were unprepared and tried to get me to pay again even though I paid when I ordered using my CC AAAAAAAAND they put the tortilla chips on the pizza anyway. I could pick those off. The sour cream that came on the side I threw out. It was the consistency of milk, and had a weird smell. Third time I have been here and second time getting take out. I felt service and product was better when I dined in. With their prices and current service I am 65/35 on whether I will return. Its isn't bad, but I am wary.

Wow, good Pizza in Albany! Who would have thunk it? Love this place, decor is awesome and fun. Staff are very respectful and attentive. Mozzarella bread is a must, and a meal in itself. Pizza is awesome!

20 November 17 Update: Gave it a second go thinking maybe, just maybe they had an off day when I ate there the first time. Nope...wasn't the case. There is a significant shortcoming with not just the quality of food, but also with staff. This is unquestionably the worst pizza I've had the displeasure of eating. Needless to say, poor service only exaggerates the overall issue. So here's the bottom line, the food is not worth the money, the service is slow and lastly this restaurant can not handle large party events. First review-I drive by this place regularly on my way to the gym that's located across the street and when the opportunity to try it came up, I was down to go. Okay, so first impressions...it's definitely a nice addition to the stale and limited restaurant variety Albany has come to be known for. I'll get right the point on this one...the pizza! At the end of the day, this is a pizza joint and patrons come here to get pizza....and this was a complete let down! Man, I was sooo hopin it wasn't the case, but there is no way I can even stretch this to make it sound like the pizza was in any way worth the gut ache. Meanwhile, it was tasteless, greasy and something you'd expect to from a frozen microwave. Truth be told, I'd choose the frozen pizza over this. This place has a lot going for it and real could be a regular go to...but without a pizza that's worthy of a return visit, I'll be pass.

Let's start from the good stuff: the place is nice if noisy and the service generally attentive. It was definitely successful in attracting a stable clientele, with its many screens for sports and a separate bar area. Their pizza on the other side is OK, generally kinda heavy. I tend to like it better in the summer, when you can sit outside.

I read the reviews and decided to try it anyway. Glad I did! I got the Hawkeye. I visited Indiana years ago and that crispy pork sandwich is something I've missed! My biggest complaint is it's too big! XD There is enough crispy, juicy, lightly seasoned pork for at least 2 sandwiches! It was a little light on mayonnaise, but that's my personal preference. Next time I'll order it with extra. Three stars just because the bun fell apart and eating the sandwich was difficult. Also the breading was a bit too thick for my taste. Service was great :) Next I'll try the pizza. Can't wait!

Very basic bar food. They are learning to make decent Long Island Ice Teas. Bar Staff is friendly

We recently went to an event at Springhill Winery where Southpaws was a food provider. Springhill advertised on their Facebook that Southpaws was doing free delivery and 15% off your order if you used a code that Springhill provided. My wife called Southpaws a few hours before the event to order our pizza. The girl that took our order over the phone had no clue about this event that Springhill and Southpaws were in on together. She refused to let us speak to her manager. She ended up giving us 15% off but still charged us $5 for delivery when all of the pizzas for the event delivered together. Springhill thankfully took $5 off our bill for the confusion. The pizzas were promised to deliver by 6:30 and didn't get delivered until after 7. The folks at Springhill ended up calling to complain. Only reason I'm giving them 2 stars is because the pizza was pretty good. They really need to work on their communication with their employees.

Just had pizza delivered. I specified to please not burn it as it was going to be eaten by a couple of fussy children. The reason that I specifically said not to burn it, is that 3 times in the past, burnt pizza was delivered. One time, I just didn't accept it and they delivered a new one. On time, 4 burnt pizzas were delivered late to a kid's birthday. Too late to return. The kids were hungry. We had to carve around the charred pieces to find parts that were edible. Anyway, even though I specifically requested that the pizza not be burned.....burned it was, but luckily only half. I fed the good pieces to the kids and the rest to the trash can. This is the LAST time I order pizza from Southpaws!

I read the reviews on here before my husband and I went. Even though some of the reviews were bad we decided to give it a shot. Here is what I found ... - The food was average frozen bar food with the exception of the cheese roll up app. Those were amazing. They were hot, cheesy and delicious. Then they were served with stone cold marinara. When I asked for warm marinara I was told they had no way to heat it. That killed it for me. - The place has a cleanliness problem. The tables were wiped down by kids who did not know how to clean. They wiped around the napkin holders, didn't move anything and missed half of the table. As you can see by my pics the place is not being cleaned properly. I went into 2 different bathrooms. Both were dirty. It was obvious that whoever was supposed to clean them was not looking at the base or side of the toilet at there was dried urine on them as well as fresh urine in the seat. The sink has brown stuff on it and was dried enough that it was obviously not fresh. When I mentioned it to the kid who was serving is he said "ok". About 30 mins later he opened the door to the bathroom, glanced in without actually walking in, and shut the door behind him. He continued to serve tables. - The noise level is extreme. We are big sports bar people but the speakers in there make it a little aggressive to the ears. Not awful. All and all they might make it if they get enough beer drinking guys in there who don't pay attention to things like urine and dried pizza sauce on napkin holders. My husband and I eat out at least 3 days a week and I doubt we will be back. Full disclosure ..... we didn't get to try the pizza. I hope the owners read the reviews and take them seriously. We need better restaurants here and I think this place has potential. It's obvious they have put a lot of thought and money into the decor. The food, service, and cleaning needs to be tightened up. Maybe an adult to supervise all of the 20 years olds working ?

This was my first time here. The staff is friendly, but only 10 taps. There's a full service bar also. I had the "Hawkeye" sandwich that is s breaded and fried pork loin on a bun with lettuce and tomato. It was the driest breaded pork loin that I've ever had. The salad bar is nice and don't know about the rest of the menu, but I would not recommend the Hawkeye. My lunch mate had the "Rocky". It was basically an Italian sub. I asked how it was and he said, with a shrug, "It was okay. It wasn't dry." If I come again I may try the pizza.

Wow! We tried the Sweet Maui Chicken tonight and it proves that pineapple belongs on pizza. Always a great place to take the kids for free arcade play while we watch some sports. Can't wait to try the new Knight pizza next time!

Had beers and tots for the Beav's game. Nice place with good service. We'll come back and try the pizza.

Delivery service is terrible, they tell you 45 minutes then are annoyed when you call two and a half hours later because your food has not shown up. Can ruin your plans when you have to go to bed because dinner didn't show up on time. Last order we ordered a family size and got a large delivered instead. Had to find something to make to go with to feed everyone. Order before that completely wrong order delivered and had to wait 45 minutes for correct order to be traded out. Order before that they forgot salad dressing. Order before that very late again. We have not ever had a good delivery experience from this place. Manager is indifferent and does not care and that is exactly why service is so bad. Poor leadership in my opinion. Save yourself the frustration and order from many of the other great places here in Albany.

Omg, I love their pizza! Large pepperoni is my favorite. Pepperoni gets crisp around the edges. Lots of delicious cheese, perfect crust. Salads are good too!

What a joke. Placed an order and it took over 2 in a half hours to get. When I called for an update they said should be on it's way because we have no more deliveries on the schedule. 30 minutes later I called for an update since nothing arrived and they said the delivery person hadn't left yet and offered a free 2 liter. Sooooo my guess is you actually hadn't made my order or lost it when I called the first time and you said they were on the way. Tell me the truth and don't lie to me about it. To many options to waste my time and money on this.

New to Albany and one of the first places I had the opportunity to try the food deserves 5 stars when they are on top of their game, if you pick up your food no problems but if you need delivery hard pass as that service deserves a 1 star at best. The past couple of experiences have left us disappointed. As for our most recent experience we ordered wings and tots at 5:55pm an hour and a half later still no food so we place a call. We are placed on a long hold before they returned to the phone stating our food just came out and they didn't know what happened to the ticket. Our food arrived about 20 mins later the tots were fresh but evident the wings had sat. Needless to say a two hour wait is unacceptable.

Once again they disappoint ! My husband and I have tried Southpaw several times. Jus in the hopes that they will surprise us and be good! NOPE! Not only did we have to wait over an hour for a salad and a mini pizza but when we finally got it the salad was gross and the dressing was watered down!! The pizza was cold and soggy! Not a good combo! They brought out our pizza before our salad and I asked if we could get our salad and the waitress said" well I only have 2 hands!" So in short the food sucked and the service was bad! Save your money and order Dominos!
