We were looking to grab a quick slice of pizza before BOTG a couple of weeks ago. This was not a good choice. Didn't enjoy the cardboard-thin, overcooked (burnt crust) pizza "slices" and didn't realize they'd have to make each "slice" individually when we ordered them. Should have & would have just ordered a large pizza instead since it would have been almost half the price & taken just as long as we waited for 2 slices - which turned out to be $8 each! My slice was freaking pepperoni! Geez! Their large pepperoni was only $10 for the whole dang thing, so we wasted money ordering slices. No one working there bothered to tell us or ask if we'd rather order a whole pizza for $2 more than a "slice" (it's called up-selling, y'all!), nor did they even acknowledge us when we first walked in & stood at the register and watched them as they stood in front of us carrying on their conversation as if we weren't there. More than one table had crumbs from previous diners, so there is obviously no cleaning or sanitizing anything between guests. We had wanted to dine-in, but it took so long that luckily they put the food in to go pizza boxes, so we got outta there & on with our evening as soon as it was done. Mine tasted better cold later in the evening when I ate my leftovers, and the "slices" were fairly big, but my other half didn't care for his at all. Home Slice, it's all you from now on! I typically don't give negative reviews, but unfortunately this experience deserved one. I understand every experience and restaurant and staff will differ day to day, but they all shouldn't be a let down at the same time. We will not return, at least not to the South Congress location.
