The food has always been good, let’s start with being positive. The menu offers something for everyone and includes a lot of favorites that have remained unchanged. If you haven't been, you should give it a try. Sadly, for us, it seems to have outgrown its neighborhood charm and was less inviting and warm than previous visits. We went early on Christmas Eve with a reservation. The hostess was less than welcoming and really set the tone for the experience. The Happy Hour menu was not available even though it was a weekday and yet they still presented it on the table, the reason given by the server was they were “too busy”. It’s hard to understand that rational other than they just wanted more revenue for the holiday, everyone orders the same drinks but are just paying more. Don’t present the menu if you don’t offer the items. Prices are noticeably higher than we have seen in the past. We felt rushed by the staff to turn tables that may have just been for Christmas but none the less not a great experience. Ultimately, it’s lost its appeal, but it is good to see it thrive and succeed, but it has come at a price. We will likely pass on our next ride through the area.

The food was absolutely delicious! I wish I could remember the name of our waitress—she was incredibly kind and attentive. Hopefully next time I’ll recall her name and give her the credit she deserves for being such an awesome person through this app. The atmosphere, unfortunately, was a bit uncomfortable. There wasn’t any space available inside, so we had to sit outdoors. That turned out to be a less-than-ideal choice due to the number of flies and bees, which made it hard to fully enjoy the meal. Hopefully next time we’ll have a better experience indoors and everything will be perfect. Restrooms- So clean. Good place to recommend.

I went to Southside Grill in Nashville with a friend, hoping for a positive dinner experience. We ordered two creamy tomato soups, a filet mignon (medium-well), and the pistachio chicken. Instead, we were served what felt like an early warning sign from the kitchen gods: soup that was both extremely salty and lumpy, a bold texture choice I did not see coming. Things only got more interesting. My “medium-well” filet arrived medium-rare, looking like it sprinted past the grill on its way to my plate. The asparagus tasted like someone tried to reinvent shoelaces as a vegetable, and the mashed potatoes were so dry they could probably qualify as building material. My friend’s pistachio chicken came out with a burnt pistachio crust and chicken so dry it might’ve been sitting through the Great Dust Bowl. I managed to eat half my dish before admitting defeat. I let the waiter know, and the manager came over. Here’s the twist: she was absolutely wonderful, gracious, polite, and genuinely apologetic. She offered a 50% discount, which was kind, but honestly, her attitude was the best thing I experienced all night.

12-20-25. Birthday dinner at 6pm. The bday card at the table was great, the server was awesome. Now let's get to the 2 filets that were ordered. They were both ordered medium and showed up RAW and tough as leather. The waitress was great about taking it back to have it cooked more. Let me reiterate, the waitress was GREAT about it. The problem came when the lady "manager" stuck her nose in. She brought both of them back and 1 was ok and the other was still raw. She was told, it was supposed to be medium, to which she responded "this is our type of medium" with such a condescending attitude that we almost left right there. The reply to the attitude was " WELL DONE THEN!". When it finally came back, it wasn't even wanted by then. There was no offer of "can we make it right?" just more attitude, from the manager, NOT the waitress. The manager couldn't even be bothered with anyone in the regular dining area, she had her nose firmly stuck up the butts of the party on the patio. Of the 3 of us, my black and blue tortellini was the only meal that was good. I do not recommend this place unless they start ordering better filets and hire a better manager and some better cooks.

Wonderful appetizers. Beef bruschetta and creamy tomato soup were delicious. Full of flavors. Entrees not so much. No flavoring on my undercooked steak. Gouda mashed potatoes just had a slice of cheese folded into them --once cheese gone so was flavor. Grilled broccoli was okay, but again no seasoning. Waitress was great ---attentive. Manager was responsive, but free desserts did not make up for the entrees.

Southside Grill is a gem! The atmosphere is just right, not too loud, making it perfect for great conversation. The lighting is inviting, and the sleek, clean design inside and out gives the space a polished yet welcoming vibe. The menu offers an impressive selection of drinks, appetizers, and meals, showing a lot of thought put into crafting a dining experience that stands out. It’s clear this isn’t your typical restaurant, it’s so much better. You can tell the focus is on giving guests a fun, enjoyable night out with top-quality food. The teamwork among the staff is fantastic, and the hostess team is genuinely kind and accommodating. Kelsey, in particular, was incredible, polite, knowledgeable, and full of energy. Her warm smile and attention to detail made the experience even better. She’s a pro at keeping the atmosphere upbeat and guests happy! With fair pricing for the quality and an undeniable cool vibe, this is a place I’ll be returning to soon. Southside Grill has earned its reputation as a favorite spot in town! Thank you!

Super cute and special place. My husband and I have lived in the area for over 20 years and we were looking for a place to get us out of our rut of eating at the same places. We found Southside Grill with a Google Search of "restaurants near me." It was a delightful and friendly place in the suburbs with an indoor dining area, full bar and a covered outdoor porch. The decor was elevated but not fancy. We ordered a wedge salad, pistachio crusted chicken with Brussels and mashed potatoes and a piece of strawberry cake. The portions were generous enough for us to split all three courses and feel full. Everything we ordered was delicious. The chicken was tender and flavorful. The Brussels were crispy. The strawberry cake was too yummy to take home and we finished it there.

We celebrated our anniversary here, and the experience was amazing from start to finish! They had a table ready for us with a thoughtful card signed by the entire staff—it was such a sweet surprise. Our server was fantastic, attentive, and made the evening even more special. Overall, a truly great experience!

If you haven't tried the Pistachio Chicken at Southside Grille, go right now! Crispy, delicious, and plated with the best goat cheese mashed potatoes and Brussels sprouts. This is one of my favorite local spots! Incredible food & drinks, great service, perfect date-night spot.

Whew! Such a great meal! Intimate setting, amazing drinks, wonderful staff, wonderful food choices and more importantly... delicious food! All around, I look forward to visiting again!

Southside Grill has a great ambiance and the service is friendly and professional. The food is pretty amazing, as well. This place would be easy to not notice and miss as it sits in a rather nondescript shopping plaza and the exterior does not give a clue to the great experience that awaits inside.

Amazing time meeting up with friends for a late Christmas get together. Food was excellent, dessert was delicious and we will be coming back!

Food and service was amazing! The tomato soup with goat cheese with grilled cheese on the side is always a Fall favorite!

This place is great. Food is excellent and the staff are great. Quinn makes her world famous green tea shots you have to try. We are having the crab cakes today which are great. We have not had anything bad here. You need to try it out if you like good food and service. If you don't like good food and service don't go here!

Totally surprised!! This was my first time and the food was unbelievable. I had dreams about the Sweet and Spicy Shrimp. I also had the Chop Steak, Mashed Potatoes and Brussel sprouts. My God... it was amazing. Make sure you make reservations and enjoy yourself at this amazing restaurant.

This is a very cozy space, with dimmed light and fire place popping. Perfect set up for a lovely dinner date with your loved ones. The food is good, fresh and well seasoned. You can taste the thoughts the chef put into their creations. Services are very tentative, we were check on multiple times during our meal to ensure everything tasted good. Wine is yum, food is yum, what else is there to say?

As always? Spectacular!!!! Parking is easy, I've always thought they could work on their greeting team but once you get in and are sprinkled with the service perfection you forget about the welcome. I really just love it here, neighborhood restaurant meets (semi) formality!

Had a great time here celebrating a birthday. Southside has been here a long time and for good reason. The ambience is upscale and the food matches that upscale feel. We ordered and had our food within 20 minutes or so. I got the kobe gouda truffle burger with fries. The fries were good, but nothing that will blow your mind. The burger on the other hand had about 4 slices of bacon, gouda plenty of arugula, and truffle oil. Fantastic burger and I heard the other chicken dishes at the table were really good as well. For a nice dinner or date night this place seems like a great shout. Happy hour also has some great deals on alcohol. Give them a try!

Excellent service. We enjoyed mimosas, a Tennessee Sunrise, a plate of biscuits as an appetizer, eggs Oscar, a three egg omelette , a Sophia omelette , and a piece of chocolate ganache cake. Everything was very good, and the portions are generous. The English muffins for the eggs Oscar were too thin.

I've eaten at Southside Grill at least 50 times. The servers are always friendly and accommodating. The food is consistently delicious! A very pleasant place for a meal...

Best burger in south Nashville! With hot chicken and burger joints on every corner , this place sticks out. Consistently good burgers, nightly specials with great bartenders and wait staff. We live in Nolensville and find Southside Grill to be the best food in the area. Well unless you want BBQ and banana pudding, then try Edleys!

Everything is A+ here. Stopped several times and it's always been tasty. It is pricey, I recommend the filet, it's terrific. Of course we'll be back.

We typically love this place, but Father's Day weekend somewhat set a different tone. I took my husband out to dinner for a Father's Day date night. Reservation for 6:45pm on Saturday. We got the beef bruschetta which used to come with five pieces, now only served with four? My husband got the nightly special which was blackened mahi mahi with crab on top. The mahi mahi was sooooo dry!! Even with the sauce on it. But no biggie, overall food and drinks were "fine" we chucked it up to an off night for the kitchen. But what really got us, was how dang hot it was in the restaurant! We got stuck in the back little room, where I had to go searching for a server after waiting almost 10 mins. Poor girl was soaked in sweat when she finally made it to our table. It was 80 degrees in that restaurant. When we sat down the thermostat was already at 78 (set to 68) and continued to crawl up for the duration of our meal. We told the waitress "wow, it's so hot in here!" And she replied with basically that they were all struggling with the temperature inside. I asked if they were having problems, and she replied with yes! Why have the restaurant open? Or why continue to accept guest without giving a warning at the very least? We get it, things happen, things break, off nights for the kitchen. Etc. But if the inside of a restaurant is climbing over 80 degrees in temp, your people should be aware before seating. What a bummer of a treat for my husband.

We love everything about Southside Grill. The food is always consistent and the people are wonderful. Most of our meals are at the bar. We love the atmosphere and conversations. They make you feel at home. And the brunch is amazing!

Great spot for brunch on the south side of Nashville. Food is excellent, fairly priced, good service and no long wait. Love the outside patio especially with the new clear screens and fireplace. The inside casual and cozy. Nice place for a date night or gathering with family/friend. Convenient location and you can park right outside. One of my favorite places to dine outside of downtown. Worthy of a visit.

Absolutely loved this place! The scallops were phenomenal and melt in your mouth delicious and the pistachio crusted chicken was pretty good too. I will definitely be back for those scallops soon and I really want to try the lamb too

My meal was AMAZING! 10/10. The service was amazing and the food was soo good. My server told me about making the shrimp blackened to give it an extra spice and now that i've had it, that's the ONLY way I want my shrimp cooked. The restaurant itself gives a very cozy feeling with the fireplace and semi dark room. I definitely will be coming back and bringing more people to try good food!

My family and I went after church at about 10:15 and was originally told that we could be seated 15-30 minutes then we were told the earliest they could get us in was at 2pm. We put our names down since we live in the Sugar Valley subdivision. We were never called or texted that a table was ready. Called back and never got a response, when we did the called ended.

I sat outside. Nice environment and the food was decent. Service was fine as well. Nothing exceptional but a pleasant dining experience.

Great neighborhood restaurant with a really good happy hour menu. Every food item in their menu I have ordered has not disappointed. The crab salad is my go to.

We have lived about 4 miles from Southside Grill for close to 20 years, and only recently (2021) decided to try it. We love it! We've never had a bad meal here: ever. The food is consistently fresh and prepared to perfection. We've even brought friends and family here, and other posh restaurants in Franklin, and they've all preferred Southside. A few items to consider on the menu: Calamari: the best I've had outside of New England Beef Bruschetta: we get it every time Tortellini: a favorite of mine Chicken: bistro/brasserie or pistachio: always great Fish: they've recently added redfish (drum) and it's delicious, but lately it's been outshined by the blackened mahi-mahi, which is outstanding. Come on a Sunday night, and it's half-price wine.

Food was excellent. Great variety. We went with a party of 4 with diverse tastes. One had the meatloaf special, another a chicken dish, another a fish choice and of course, a steak choice. All of us were satisfied. We also had appetizers and bread--that was great too! Nice atmosphere and the service was great. Ample parking.

This is a local favorite and has been for years. The food is always good, drinks are good, specials are good, you just can't go wrong. The service is what makes this place amazing. Tonight we had Selina. She told us we were her third table on her first night and you wouldn't have know that. She was amazing. Her service was top notch. She is definitely on our list of people we will request when we go.

This place is a hidden gem! I didn't get a picture but the beef bruschetta is AMAZING! I would order it as my meal! It's a must have if you go here! All of our entrees were delicious! The prices were reasonable for the quality you are getting. The ambiance is really nice. Great place for a date night. Highly recommend! I will definitely be back!

Nice and intimate ambient setting on the enclosed patio with a gorgeous fireplace! The server was incredibly friendly and checked in on us often. We ordered the calamari and beef bruschetta as our starters - both were great! I was surprised at how good this take of bruschetta was! The only things that were a little off for us was that they brought out our mains a couple minutes after we had just been served our starters so we had to quickly scoff down a plate to make room on the table. It was Valentine's Day so hopefully this isn't the standard. Secondly, we ordered a classic Kobe burger and the braised pork ragu for our mains and they were both so incredibly under seasoned, and the bottom bun of my burger was so soggy it had practically disintegrated by the time it got to the table lol. Everything was actually cooked super well but we were a little underwhelmed by the flavors. Overall I'd check them out for their appetiszers and drinks!

Friendly place to enjoy good, well-cooked food with people whose company you enjoy. Nice decor and ambiance. Server was patient with us staying late.

Absolutely love this place. We come here every Thursday for happy hour, and do get food more often than not. The food is great, the drinks are unique and tasty. The service and the staff are what keep us coming back. Everyone is so friendly and attentive, even when the place is packed!! I look forward to my weekly evenings spent here!!

Had driven by many times and finally stopped in for dinner on a Friday night. Wow were we glad we did. The menu is enticing with so many choices. We settled on the calamari appetizer that had two dipping sauces that complimented the calamari perfectly. For the meal, the Brasserie chicken and the Meat Ball special of 3 large meat balls on a bed of polenta and broccoli was delicious. The staff was attentive and friendly. The atmosphere was welcoming with options to sit inside in the dining area or bar and also outside. Will definitely be back and bring friends!!!

I ate here one year ago and left underwhelmed. My opinion of Southside Grill has completely changed after this weekend! To start off, we ordered Beef Bruschetta. This is a MUST HAVE. The steak bits were so tender and juicy. Each bite produced an explosion of flavors. A blend of sharpness from the cheese, mildness from the tomatoes, and aromatics from the basil created the perfect appetizer. We also got Arancini, which are fried risotto balls. It has a mild flavor, but still delicious. The inside risotto was very soft and creamy with a crisp outer layer. The marinara sauce had a kick. Get the scallops! They were literally smooth like butter. The sauce on top was tangy and complemented the shellfish amazingly. I got risotto and grilled broccolini as my sides. I also tried a price of my friend's filet mignon (medium rare) and it was tender and juicy. Our service was fantastic. There doesn't seem to be a dress code; I saw some groups dressed up, while others sported athleisure. The prices of the food are definitely high end. My advice: don't be afraid to spend a little more for the higher price items. They are so worth it. My only wish is that the portions were bigger.

I've been southside girl three times. Had three different specials. The salmon is out of this world. The service is phenomenal. Couldn't get a seat at the bar but that's OK. I had great service at the table would go back again.

Great visit to Southside Grill! The food taste so fresh and fantastic! Mozzarella sticks with the crispy outside, and hot delicious cheesy inside are a must have. My burger was cooked to perfection, juicy and amazing. By far the best burger I have had in a very long time!

I have usually had a good experience at Southside Grill but tonight I wasn't impressed by this restaurant. I had the red fish with linguini and I thought it was very oily. I wouldn't have that dish again. The service was slow at first but the manager tried to fix the delay by helping the waiter. The restaurant is noisy. Hope we just caught it on an "off night".

We got take out from here recently and the order was correct! Which is rare with take out. The kale salad with salmon is delicious!

I try to rate restaurants based on what they are trying to be. I'll give a bar and grill 5 stars and give a fancy steak restaurant 4 stars. It's based on what the establishment is trying to be. Pros: Southside Grill was great. My fiancé and I went here and got appetizers, drinks, and entrees. The service was great and there is lots of parking. Drinks were decent. The shrimp appetizer had lots of flavor . The chicken that my fiancé had was huge, crispy, and tender (highly recommend). I had the salmon and it was good and well priced. We also had a desert cocktail and it was well made and flavorful. Cons: We got the shrimp appetizer and it did have good flavor, but for $15, you get 5 medium sized shrimp. It's something you would be able to make at home for $4. The drink menu(excluding desert cocktails) were all citrus based and did not have items similar to an old fashion (I'm sure they could make upon request). The entrees were great and my only recommendation is a tad bit more of the lemon sauce on the chicken since it is a great size. We got a side of Brussels sprouts and the texture was amazing. They were lacking flavor though. I've had some really good Brussels sprouts lately so I'm also being critical. We will definitely go back and try other drinks and apps. Hope this helps!

I come here every time I visit my brother. It's one of his favorites and it is also one of mine. Food is always delicious.

Holy crap, everything I've had here has been incredible. The burger, the medallions, their Gouda mashed potatoes, the spicy shrimp appetizer. Service is always excellent and served with a smile. Unfortunately a rarity these days it seems. Couldn't recommend this place more for excellent food, great atmosphere and QUALITY food that is reasonably priced.

Food is ALWAYS delicious. Good daily specials and half price wine on Sundays. I have been there many times, and will continue to go.

The lobster ravioli with blackened shrimp is worth the visit if you enjoy robust flavors. I also recommend the spicy shrimp appetizer.

We've eaten here several times and the food is always amazing. However tonight we had a server whose name was Kelsey. Simply put she was the most amazing server we have had in YEARS! My wife, myself and my parents were commenting how great she was. Thank you Kelsey for making our experience not just an A, but an A++++!!!!
