I've been shopping there for about 13 years All the employees are so pleasant and kind! They all genuinely care about their customers. They're not just trying to sell you supplements and products that you don't need. The store is always clean with fresh fruits, veggies and healthy grocery items. Fresh juice bar as well.Would highly recommend.

My favorite place for buying freshly juiced fruits and veggies. Staff is always friendly and helpful. Been going for years to get natural supplements for my family and it’s always clean inside.

This store is a godsend every since Amazon bought out Whole Foods. Who went on to gut out each of their departments to put it online. Thus, making out of reach to elderly & poor mid-class. Southtown HF is thee store that WF nutritional V&M used 2b. They carry almost everything in supplements and if they don't carry it, they want to know so that they can get it. The staff is exceptionally helpful & engaging (necessary dialog to people intuitive to their health & fitness) caring for their customers. I visit often bcaz (also close to brothers 🏡) I like talking to the owners.

Very organized and neat customer service is excellent. They had everything I needed. Very knowledgeable about their products. I Highly recommend going to South Town Health Food.

Always pleasant, fully stocked and knowledgeable. I noticed my cholesterol pills went up to $25 from $20 and they put a 15% salw ticket 👎 no savings kn that but the store is still a gem.

Southtown has well trained and knowledgeable staff. The associates are patient and ask questions for clarity of why you think you need this supplement. You can not just run in for a product and run out unless you know for sure what you have come to get. Southtown would rather you left without a purchase rather than sell you something you don't need.

Beware of this store selling non organic juice that will get you sick drinking pesticide directly in to your blood line .. make sure you request organic fruits and vegetables.. most health food stores will not stock non organics because they know the harm it does to the body ..

Me my husband and daughter just left Southtown Health Foods and we were totally satisfied👍🏻! A young lady name Heaven assisted us with our healthcare needs. She was very knowledgeable, patient and kind🥰! Our daughter needed to utilize their restroom 🚽and by surprise it was clean and smell pleasant! Our cashier was a young man who was courteous as well! Our overall experience was a 10 out 10! We will be back again to shop soon!

From the moment you walk in the door you're hit by the good energy. The atmosphere is energetic yet familial. It's also immediately clear that they're stocked with everything I need! I appreciated their quickness to greet and offer assistance and guidance and their ease of letting you explore the place. Every time I go I always find what I'm looking for or something better. And if I have questions they're well informed and eager to assist. When it comes to supplements and any other health food items this is definitely my first choice over Amazon or any chain store.The prices are reasonable and the products are top notch. The only thing I'd change is their hours. I just wish they were open a little later. Sometimes it's hard to make it there before 5:30 pm on most weekdays. However I understand that they are a family business. Either way, they're worth it!

It's a nicely stocked place for the Beverly and Evergreen Park community! However......They are extremely overpriced!!!! I found the exact same Krill Oil Pills another store for $11 cheaper! Why are you guys taxing like that. That's robbery!

Whenever I go to southtown health food store they are always friendly they are always helpful they will do whatever they can to help you in the politis way I would definitely recommend this store to neighbors and to the general public the store has been in business for a very long time some years ago I was buying a product and had the opportunity to meet and be assisted by one of the owners of the store she was very kind and very helpful and that's the service that you always get when you go to the door so thank you South Town‼

Great way to start your body to heal. They carry a lot of things I can't find anywhere else for my journey. Don't take my word for it though, go check em out.

I've been going to this store for over 10 years. When I moved out of state I was sad. However, I visited my family in Chicago recently and stopped by and nothing has changed: great products and customer service. I stocked up on all my favorites and have decided to make this a monthly ritual since I haven't found a similar store in my new town.

Been going here for a long time - genuinely kind and caring staff. Thank you - for sticking around. If u have not been to this cozy gem, u may want to pay them a visit. The prices are comparable to other cozy similar establishments.

Can't believe I've never reviewed this place! Must try! I LOVE the juice bar. I believe you can get a regular mixed veggie juice (12 oz.) for $1.75 which is a steal! Great pricing on their groceries for all the vegan x organic x plant-based people. Awesome vitamin section too and they often have sales. Awesome customer service, especially the juice bar! A+ COVID-19 info: 10 people allowed one the store at a time x social distancing signs and markers everywhere x offer shopping assistance x curbside pickup on Saturdays only (I believe) x Saturday hours: 9:30-4:30.

As always; I'm pleased and satisfied with the great service that they provide. The staff are nice and personable. They're willing to take the time to Listen & educate on the supplement. They are like family. The produce are beautiful. Juice bar oh I love it. You better call ahead for your juice. Otherwise; you'll be waiting. Don't worry the wait is worth it.

I am going vegan for the month of August (wish me luck, Yelp). I came here to get some vegan meat products and to pretty much look around. I have driven past this place a million times and I have never stopped by. They have a lot of vegan/vegetarian options, not to expensive, I will definitely be back for all of my vegan needs.

Exceptional service! I have been coming here for a few years periodically but after today's exceptional service I will no longer be purchasing my vitamin goods, health food, fresh juices from anywhere else other than Southtown -not even Amazon. 1st their pricing is excellent! They were sold out of product initially that interest me but I was texted to inform me that they had replenished their stock. One was left aside for me although I admit I had already purchased elsewhere. I bought theirs for the excellent service alone. They were polite/courteous and incredibly well informed on all the products. They offered recommendations and even remembered my name with the thousands of customers they serve. That is AMAZING customer service! I was so impressed I had to call a friend upon reaching my car to share the positive experience and noted that this should be the standard particularly for small-medium business. Happy to endorse and support Southtown Health Foods.

They go out their way to aide you in discerning the right products for whatever ails you! And believe me you can DEFINITELY trust in their knowledge & expertise! And I am definitely not one to say that lightly or undeservedly! + For All Customers with UTERINE FIBROIDS this is your GUARANTEED source for aide and how to rid yourself of the excruciating pains & drab fatigue! Both Mary Ann, Katie and Linda can provide much information and supplements and procedures then you will ever get from thise uncaring doctors who just want to perform another HYSTERECTOMY to bilk your health insurance company -- and as one doctor stated to me in an ugly manner: "..help decrease the population of (a certain race) of babies being born into a world that doesn't want them to begin with and is trying to get rid of the existing (certain race) anyway!" INDEED YES, I have sued this doctor & case was decided in my favor.

I visited this store for the first time last week & I must say i really liked the store! I had a fresh juice made with my favorite GINGER! I was able to ask questions and get support from staff. There is so much in this store! My suggestion is that you do research before you go to this store to know exactly what you are looking for. The staff will be able to direct you once you are in the store. Basically, have a focus about what you want, you'll have an enjoyable time it's so much to see and learn! I will be going back!

This place has been here forever. I remember passing by it as a child on my way home from the doctor or Evergreen Plaza. I can't believe a few weeks ago this was my first time in here! It's a cute throwback, with a few people sitting and people watching right when you come in the door (next to the copy machine...copy machine!). There is a juice bar, but I was really craving a fulfilling smoothie, so that was out. I loved that the place had small aisles to maneuver, it made everything very easy to find. I got almost everything on my list, including soap, which wasn't that much more than any other place. Just an fyi, when you buy things wholesale, you get a discount when you buy a crazy amount, so it's kind of not fair to compare a small store to a major corporation like Amazon owned Whole Foods. They have a large selection of supplements (including cbd oil!) for your perusal. A great spot, especially if you live close by. I think my biggest complaint is that the hours are really weird and very old school. If I had a job I would never be able to come here! Maybe have one late night?

Always great here! It's like the Ace Hardware of health food stores. You can always get great advice and help from the staff. They go above and beyond to help you and answer any questions.

The people in here are so knowledgeable and helpful. They answered all my questions and make customers feel important. I bought some CBD oil for the first time and they gave me great, no-pressure advice. I love this place.way better than buying blindly from the Internet.

This is the absolute BEST store in my neighborhood!!!! When i am trying to find a someone to talk to concerning herbs, vitamins or supplements in general......these folks are the authority! I was having issues with my digestion and I was guided to a supplement that has helped out tremendously and that I've been using for years now. With all that is happening in the world today, this is one of the places that is in my prayers because for those of us who manage our health with holistic remedies whenever possible - this place is a must!!

Having lived in Beverly most of my life, Southtown has been a staple of the community for as long as I can remember. I frequently shop here and they have a wide variety of healthy choices. I was recently made aware that Whole Foods may be coming to the Beverly area when the now shuttered Evergreen Plaza is demolished and rebuilt as an open air mall. Being a major grocer on a national scale, Whole Foods would definitely pose a threat to the survival of a mom and pop outlet like Southtown. Having shopped at both stores, I can honestly say that Southtown may be a dollar or two higher than Whole Foods on certain items; and on other items, (such as bulk nuts and seeds) Southtown offers a lower price. However, when determining whether to shop at WF or Southtown I began to think about loyalty. There must be 30 Whole Foods Market's on the north side and north suburbs of Chicago, and counting. As of the date of this review, they have yet to set a toe on the entire south side. I don't care if they are in the process of building in Hyde Park, or are trying to make a phony socioeconomic statement with the proposed Englewood location. When they want to open a store on the north side, they make it happen......like, now! Southtown has earned my business. If a person is willing to pay $30 for four pieces of fried chicken that taste like honey-butter, or $60 for a dozen cupcakes because they are the latest fad, I can pay $1 more for a large container of raw honey at a place that has always been there when I needed them. .

Look no further for your one stop shop for health goods . This place has everything you need for keeping your body healthy. Location is great , and the staff is excellent! :)

the only problem i have with south town is that it's not bigger. they have a large selection of some things - vitamins, dry goods, basic pantry items, etc. but, they don't have much in the way of fresh meat or fish, or baked goods, etc... i talked recently with katie (who manages the store i believe and whose family owns the store) and she mentioned that they are planning on expanding in the near future. so that's something to REALLY look forward to. although the beverly neighborhood has the county fair grocery store to shop for fresh (and i mean FRESH) produce and di cola's for fresh seafood, the neighborhood needs southtown to fill our other organic and special dietary needs without the blandness of health food store fare. southtown carries a wide and tasty selection of food,some of it is local. they have a small book selection in the back of the store and a juice bar in the front. their "pharmacy" has vitamins and basic toiletries. my daughter and i love their fragrant selection of handmade soaps especially! the staff is really friendly and helpful. they've watched my daughter grow from an 18 month old to a three year old. they were around to help me when i was trying to get pregnant again, to when i was trying to get thru morning sickness, to now when i desperately try to get my energy/equilibrium back when my two kids sap the life out of me! :) i'm so lucky to have southtown around and close enough to walk. which reminds me... i have to make a run there today!

I definitely agree with the review below mine. This is a family owned business that has sustained through a turmulous market. They have to be doing something right! They are obviously not attempting to compete with TJ or WF. I mean thye dont have the square footage! I frequented this store before I moved and always received stellar and knowledgable customer service. I always left knowing more about something than I did when I came in.

Small store, but packed full of good selections. For the most part prices seemed reasonable, considering the fact that everything would qualify as specialty items at bigger box grocery stores. The bulk section was decent; I walked out with a cheap, very large bag of brown rice to replenish my dwindling supply at home. I also appreciated the pre-made meals in the fridge case from Soul Veg - I had no idea that they made take-away meals for any local shops. One disappointment was that the juice bar was closed; I had been told that it was good, so I was sorry to not have the chance to sample their handy work myself.

I love this health food store! People are down to earth - not pretentious. Ask any question and you get an intelligent answer and guidance for your particular concern. May Southtown be around forever!

I also agree about the hours. I live a few blocks from Southtown, and it is nearly impossible for me to shop there. I am never home before 5:30 and Thursdays I'm at the gym. Saturdays are a crap shoot and the store is a madhouse... then closed on Sunday. C'mon guys, or are you trying to send people away?

While to do appreciate not having to drive to the south loop for Whole Foods or Trader Joe's when I need to make a quick trip for a few items, I'm not crazy about the quality of the produce, the on/off customer service (owners are amazing, cashiers - umm, no), or the prices ($8 and up for organic butter. Really? No, REALLY?!). The convenience of their location coupled with their occasional sales will keep me stopping by sporadically, but I'm not a convert.

I agree with an earlier reviewer. Even though the selection is great, they limit their business and convenience (for myself and other customers, I am sure) because of their hours. It would be great if maybe they opened a bit later so that they could stay open later. Parking is rough too, but it's doable.

I love this store. The most important thing in busines to me is customer service. Here at Southtown they are very good at meeting the needs of the customer, they know what it means when said "the customer comes first".

This is a staple for me! I can get all my gluten free goods AND fresh juice (or veggies, they will juice anything). They are also very knowledgeable about vitamins and almost anything else. They even have make-up now!!

I wish people wouldn't knock this place. Its a surviving family owned business in this economy and its the only one we have. If it goes we won't have anything in this meat and potatoes neighborhood. Whole Foods wouldn't touch this neighborhood. Then you can spend all your extra money on gas to get to one to buy that one item you need.

I was introduced to this store a couple of weeks ago on a Saturday after going to Top Notch Burgers next door (I know, I know). The parking lot was crowded, as was the store. I originally went in to get some Calcium Gluconate, and my friend told me to talk to the very knowledgable staff person. She told me some stuff I didn't know (told myself to check it out when I got home, but what she said made a lot of sense for my condition). And suggested I try a magnesium product for my heart palps. She told me to just buy a sample..she didn't try to sell me on anything big. She was on the money; it worked like a charm! The negative: Since I live near the South Loop, I didn't want to drive back over there, so I went to my trusted Amazon.com, and I realized that I paid waaay too much for the sample, and I'm sure the orig. size would be a lot more. I would go back if in the neighborhood to try the food, but I'm all about the bargains; won't pay almost twice for something if I don't have to.

yes ..the store is small ...yes the parking lot is small....yes the hours are limited....but you know what their customer service cant be beat and the prices are high but they always have a sale on... I have never and I mean never went in that store and not got stellar customer service... for those who have a problem with the hours...how about Saturday morning when they first open up...for those who have a problem with the food...I really don't come to the store for organic foods...its nice that they sell it but I come for their vast array of supplements and other non food items ...that is really what they have an abundance of...why do I like this store?...I have been to many health food stores and this one (for their size) is well stocked and organized along with the wonderful customer service....I agree with 2 previous reviewers .... customer service means everything....lets face it...if the staff was rude...would you come back....and like a previous reviewer said...its the only health food store (besides the vitamin shoppe down the street...and they are high)in the neighborhood we have....we need it...if we lose it...we will have to drive miles away to get to a whole foods store...and who wants to do that....thank you southtown for your service to the community all these years...and we are hoping for many more.
