Cute hole in the wall gem with amazing baked breads and awesome sandwiches!
+located in heart of old town el segundo area. Actually dropped by here on a whim! Was trying to get cup of coffee from two guns and noticed that there was good amount of foot traffic on Sunday at 9am so decide to pop in and we're so glad we did!
+plenty of street parking available
+as I mentioned earlier, we were at the shop around 9am and some of the baked goods were still warm!
+we decide to buy popeye (spinach, herbs and mozzarella) and submarine (salami, pepperoncini, roasted red bell pepper, mozzarella) stuffed rolls, sourdough baguette, the Porto sandwich and jetty sandwich. We haven't tried the sourdough baguette yet but everything's been so tasty!! The stuffed rolls are probably made of sourdough bread so it has just the right amount of sourness and the dough was cooked to perfection. I had the popeye and the stuffing tasted great and my boyfriend loved his also. But both of us LOVED their sandwich on the focaccia bread more! I had the ham and cheese one called the jetty (ham, cheddar, shrettuce, house pickles, Campari tomato, Dijon and Mayo), which tasted like an elevated classic ham and cheese sandwich and my boyfriend got the Porto (turkey, provolone, chipotle aioli, pickled red onion and shrettuce), which was like elevated turkey sandwich as well. Honestly both were GREAT but I definitely would get the Porto next time! The house made focaccia bread had perfect crust and the texture inside was delicately soft springy. The bread is also seasoned and I think it had a hint of olive oil and herbs, which definitely made the sandwich.
+they also offer bagel and simple bagel sandwiches. I would love to try their lox bagel sandwich next time
-nothing negative but just want to point out that you cannot modify the sandwich to add any proteins. Honestly the sandwices on menu are great as is!!
Love supporting small local shops. So glad I found this gem on a whim and can't wait to be back!
