The decor and service is good, however the meal was very disappointing. The pita is very dry. The wraps felt very low on the protein/souvlaki and big on fries. Oddly, the fries were also very dry. The plates are also very low on protein skewer quantity and does not really fill you up.

Delicious and flavorful! Love the fries in the wrap. Wish there was a little more chicken though. The cake is rich and light, I personally prefer a moist/thick cake but it was a lovely slice of chocolate cake nonetheless.

Based in Baltimore, Souvlaki Greek Cuisine is a area-owned fast-casual Greek restaurant where they fill pitas with fries. Here's our experience getting takeout on a Friday evening: 1) Food: Their menu is large and includes different types of fries, pitas, platters and dessert. We each ordered a platter and turned it into a pita. My beef pita was very good and comes with fries inside. The platters include two generous portions of sides like a salad or tomatoes and cucumbers. 2) Experience: Due to the pandemic, we ordered ahead of time online for pickup. It was easy to order online and they keep you updated on when your order is being prepared and when it's ready via text or email. 3) Space: It's designed like a cozy, little Greek cafe with pictures of Greece on the walls and wooden tables and chairs. It's small, but they make good use of the space. 4) Service: It's very friendly and attentive. 5) Location: It's in Dupont Circle close to many other restaurants, murals, parks and museums.

What a gem for this part of DuPont. I got the platter - lamb was additional so it was ~ $20. The platter comes with two sides which you can choose from a large list of salads and fries. Drink options are limited so I got the $3.50 Greek lemonade (bottled). It took almost an hour to get our food but otherwise it was great. If you’re in a hurry order ahead for sure.

Authentic Greek food in a really cute, clean place. The spreads were amazing and the yogurt with sour cherry is fantastic. The staff was really friendly and helpful too.

When ordering the platters treat them as two people meals unless you are very hungry. Nice food. The salad with the platters could do with summer feta and olive oil (or more of it if there was any - couldn't really taste it). Nice chips with feta as side and divine tzatziki. Oh, and the spanakopita - beautiful! Would happily eat it as my main (and only) dish.

THE best fast-casual Greek cuisine in Washington, DC in my humble opinion & here is what I order: Horiatiki Village Salad with tomatoes, cucumbers, red onions, green peppers, feta cheese, olives, extra virgin olive oil Pita Wraps with your choice of protein (I recommend Kolokythokeftedes Zucchiniballs), red onions, tomatoes, fries and your choice of sauce (I like the classic Tzatziki Yogurt-cucumber) all wrapped in a warm pita

This is a tasty and relatively affordable restaurant! A friend and I ordered takeout from here on DoorDash and were overall impressed with the quality. The avgolemono soup was very tasty with super tender chicken. The Mediterranean fries were massive and still a bit crunchy, even after the long commute! The tzatziki was perfect (although my friend ordered hummus which did not come). The rice pilaf is very herby, much different from what I expected but still tasty. One place I was hoping for slightly better food was the chicken. It was grilled well but not tender enough on the interior. Aside from that tiny blip, this was a very nice DoorDash order for a Saturday night and left me very satisfied! Excited to try this place in person as well/

Simple food done well! Beyond the food, I loved that this place was clean and efficient and had nice ambiance. Staff were friendly and helpful. I chose the wrap with chicken and Tzatziki sauce. There are French fries wrapped in- just enough to quench your craving without the guilt!! I look Forward to returning to test out the Greek fries!! Recommend!!

updating to 4 stars - still a solid fast takeout/casual meal but can be inconsistent in execution. the platters are a pretty nice deal coming with two skewers, two sides, pita bread and a dip. I like the salads, the skewers (pork and chicken are favorites, they're not huge though), and the fries are a big portion (get them with the feta). tyrokafteri and tzaziki are great.

Would give a 3.5 if possible! Souvlaki is a quaint, little restaurant that is ideal for a casual or quick meal as the seating inside is somewhat limited. The food was pretty flavorful which was helped by the amount of free add ons available for the pita wrap I got. While flavorful, I do wish the portion sizes were a bit bigger, as you can see in the picture there are not many fries provided and the wrap itself is not too big. However, the baklava is a must! Perfect way to end the meal with a sweet treat. Service was really convenient with orders being placed via a QR code and brought to the table when done. The staff also asked us when we would want our food brought out making it helpful to pace ourselves through the meal!

Wow! So glad I stumbled about this place. It was pouring rain outside so I made an order and luckily was able to sit by myself in the back on some bar-like seating, which is great! The gentleman at the front was so sweet, he was delivering food to everyone at their tables, including mine and giving me plenty of silverware and napkins. I ordered a pita with both chicken and lamb souvlaki, which were both AMAZING! Got a side of hummus too, which was alright (I'm used to authentic Lebanese homemade hummus so I'm biased!) but went great with the wrap. The pita itself is so good and pillowy, loved it. Got a chicken lemon rice soup too, which was delicious for the cold rainy day. It's definitely a thin brothy soup, there isn't any egg in there (i think) to thicken it up, but I liked it nonetheless. Will be back when I find myself up here! Was great to eat here before heading to the Middle East Bookstore across the street, a great weekend trip.

We stopped in here for a quick dinner while staying at a hotel nearby. The restaurant is small, but cozy and it was very easy to order. We had a spread sampler with tyrokafteri, taramosalata, and tzatziki and pita and it was very good! It's not often you can find taramosalata, so that was a nice bonus to find that. We also got a horiatiki with pork souvlaki and the salad and pork were delicious. The only downside was that the olives were sweet, which is something my wife and I have never seen before, especially not at a Greek restaurant. Olives aside, it's a good restaurant and one that we would visit again if in the area.

The chicken gyro was good. But it didn't arrive how I ordered (fries in the side). No big it was a tasty meal and much needed as I had landed late from a flight into DCA. The tzatziki was ok, not a punch of flavor like others here have mentioned in thier reviews. I'd give it all a try again though, it was good enough to repeat.

Solid decent place for chicken souvlaki wraps. The food all tasted super fresh and the menu prices were fairly priced. Would highly recommend the chicken wraps if you want a fairly clean meal that hits the spot.

Not a fan of this spot. Service was fine but paid close to 40$ for two burnt kebabs, microwaved fries, and a mediocre Greek salad. The eggplant balls we're mediocre. Lots of better options in the area to pick from.

Crazy solid and affordable Greek food. We stopped by here on an event and loved most of the food. All of the platters we tried were delicious and flavorful, and definitely reminded me of the stuff I had in Greece. The price was solid, too. The volume is pretty amazing, too - we definitely had too many carbs on our plate, which is always a good problem (albeit perhaps an unhealthy problem) to have.

Souvlaki hits the spot every time! The service is a little slow, but I'm always glad I waited because their meals are a perfect healthy takeout choice. I'm a big fan of the chicken skewer platter, which I get with Melitzanosalata spread (an eggplant dip), horiatiki salad, and the Roka Liasti salad (arugula and sun dried tomatoes). Souvlaki is a quaint Greek establishment that specializes in well, you guessed it... souvlaki or marinated meat on a stick. They offer many different types of souvlaki options and build your own platter combos which lets you sample a variety of their menu items. Make sure you come here hungry because you will be full (and have some food left over) afterward. I ended up getting the lamb souvlaki (upgraded on a pita) with hummus with two sides of Mediterranean fries and Roka Liasti (Arugula and sun-dried tomato salad). The lamb was cooked pretty well and on its own, it was tender and nice to eat. However, the pita wrap as a whole, with the hummus, just didn't have anything special about it to me. I wish I had an extra something in it, whether it was more spice, more vegetables, just something to really make it stand out from other pita sandwiches I've had. The salad was pretty good, the arugula was fresh and the dressing was really light, and I think the sun-dried tomatoes were a good addition to elevate the dish a bit more. However, the part of my meal that really did not taste good was the french fries. The french fries were so airy that there was practically no potato left in it because it had been fried way too much. Additionally, the service could have been improved upon. I had asked for a cup of water, however, the server didn't bring any.

Food was cold and the service was rushed. I ordered a lamb gyro that took 20 min; to sit on a cold grill and the food wasn't even hot. The tzatziki sauce didn't even taste like it had dill. It was literally slices of cucumber in sour cream. I ordered a side of fries and got 10 fries in a piece of foil. Would not come or recommend. Very disappointed.

Everything's betta with a little feta! It's been a while since I've had Greek food and Souvlaki Greek Cuisine in DuPont delivered with their chicken souvlaki platter! I added a mushroom souvlaki skewer in the mix with their horiatiki salad and Greek fries. The chicken was flavorful and the fries were crispy and perfectly topped with the crumbled feta. I'm also obsessed with their fluffy pita bread! The beetballs (appetizer) also known as Pantzarokeftedes is a must try and delicious with their homemade tzatziki sauce. They also have a Hampden, Baltimore location for you MD peeps!

Fast and casual eatery conveniently located at DuPont which makes for an easy pit stop after a workout session nearby. I got the platter which was a big spread of food and I took back half of the meal for another meal the next day. Opens till late and you would never need a reservation to dine in.

Got takeout. Would def return. Food- we got the 3 spreads/dips. Chicken platter with fries and salad. Zucchini ball platter with rice and salad. All were flavorful and cooked well. Get the spicy feta. Nice portion sizes, thanks fir not skimping in the extra pitas! Service- all staff we interacted with was friendly, helpful, and professional. You order from a iPad, but they are there to assist as needed. Food was ready in 10-15 mins and handed directly to us by name. Covid- no seating inside, there were two tables outside. Everyone wearing masks. Yummy and healthy option on 18th street!

I had a really good experience at this restaurant. If you are craving Greek food, then this place definitely hits the mark! When you walk into the restaurant, I noticed that it had a very beach chic vibe, which I loved. I spoke with the gentleman behind the counter regarding recommendations and I settled on the spanakopita, the chicken pita and Greek fries. Everything I had was so delicious, but the star of the show was definitely those fries. WOW!!!! After eating the fries, I couldn't even finish all of my food, but that's partly because the portion sizes were huge!! Big plus!! I definitely recommend this spot! Great ambiance, good food/ portion sizes and it's in a great location on 18th street.

This place is ok. I've had them before back in California and felt they were fresh and tasty. This location (& admittedly maybe it was just that way because it was DoorDashed) was just ok. Lukewarm and lacking in flavor.

The staff is super friendly here, and the food is delicious! You can order for dine in or to go. They've got some cute Christmas decorations up and 2 outdoor tables if you want to dine outside. Tyrokafteri - The spicy feta dip is a MUST TRY! If you love feta then this is a dream come true. I loved the tint of spiciness. It goes great with the fries too. Spanakopita - Flaky perfection, especially when eaten warm. I loved how thin it was too. Tyropita - Feta cheese pie. Think baked feta in a flaky wrap! Greek Fries - Super delicious with the feta and oregano. If you couldn't tell I love feta! Chicken/Pork/Lamb Souvlaki - All super delicious! Definitely worth trying as many as you can. It also means more pita to dip into your spicy feta! Stuffed Bifteki - Another must try here! The beef patty is stuffed with cheese and it's delicious! It's charred to perfection on the outside. Baklavas - A classic greek dessert. The honey and flaky combo is to die for.

I wanted Korean BBQ for dinner but nothing local was open at the time we were able to finally have dinner. So, trusting my fellow Yelpers I see Souvlaki Greek pop up and by this time, I didn't want to head out into traffic, so we opted to have it delivered to the hotel we were staying at. I did the Prasini salad with added tomatoes, cucumbers and chicken souvlaki. Nice chunks of chicken seasoned very well, and not dry, there wasn't any olive oil, but it was ok since I truly enjoyed the tzatziki on my salad. I am not sure if anyone else is like this, but at a Greek restaurant, IF the tzatziki is delicious, I put it on everything (like I would ranch dressing) fries, lemon potato's, salad, chicken the lamb-- everythinggggg (except dessert)!! Hubby ordered the souvlaki chicken platter with rice and french fries. In addition, I ordered garlic hummus & tzatziki with extra pita bread. Everything was flavorful, packaged well for travel and they didn't forget the plastic ware for us to eat, since our room (though it had a kitchen- lacked silverware and napkins). My husband was so happy as he had been told about this restaurant, but had never been able to go, so this was a wonderful surprise for him, and he said next time he is in DC which is often, he will definitely order from them again.

Good spot! Fried zucchini chips were INCREDIBLE. Life changing, I'd say. Perfectly breaded & crispy, with a taziki sauce provided for dipping. Pro tip: when you get home, use ranch instead as a dipping sauce. Thank me later. The chicken gyro was good! The chicken was a smidge dry and the fries a smidge old, but honestly the flavor was there for both. Liked this place a lot, and seriously, those fried zucchini chips are worth the trip.

My experience was good, I just felt it was slightly overpriced and wish I could get a small side of taziki without buying a whole appetizer. I walked here for lunch and there were a couple tables inside and outside. Their fries were good with the feta on top and the portion was large! The chicken gyro was good but not the best I've had. I would go back but try something else next time.

Solid spot for takeout or a quick bite. Straightforward menu with a lot of options from meat to plant-based. I was worried about the chicken souvlaki being dry but it turned out juicy and tender, missing a little charred flavor though. The portion size of a pita roll was on the lighter side so get something else if you are hungry. Highly recommend their tzatziki sauce and fries, which stayed fresh and crunchy even inside a pita. Would love to order a side of it next time.

Tried this while at the nearby Washington Hilton and the salad and fries were wonderfully fresh and just what I was looking for! Small place that has outdoor seating and fast service, I took my food togo and it was wrapped well!

Not much for seating seems like they do mainly take out service, but 2 indoor tables and 2-3 outside. No gyro meat, which was a let down, but the lamb tasted great the fries serving was enough for 3 people.

The food here is phenomenal, some of the Greek best food I've ever had. Also, the platters are really large, my girlfriend and I usually share one and still walk home stuffed.

This is DC's most reliable quick takeout/delivery option. Always good. I don't think they've ever messed up an order, which is almost crazy considering we usually order from here once per month. Multiple plant-based options makes this a must-add to any vegan's takeout rotation.

This place is a little overpriced, even in DC, for the quality. Tried several dishes. Most of the appetizers are a few bites -- $10-11 pre-tax. The oil used for frying tasted old - Otherwise nothing was too bad - just not great. The salad we ordered was pretty standard tomato/cucumber/onion/feta - $13.25 -- enough to share as a side, but prob not as a main lunch/dinner. Liked that the onions are extremely thin. Be careful - the olives have pits. Dessert rolls were pretty good but there are better versions of this dish around. It was empty aside from us and 1 lonely Grubhub driver at dinner time on a weekday. Mostly employees hanging out. They were nice enough, but didn't have much idea about the menu items here or about Greek food in general. Music was turned up pretty loud. Overall it's OK, but not a place we're running back to.

I found this place accidentally and that was the best what happened with me on this day. Definitely 5 stars for great service, tasty food and friendly staff.

We got two chicken pitas and they were delicious! The service was order at the counter, quick and very friendly. It was a nice ambiance and design inside. The price was very good for what you got. We were pleasantly surprised with everything!

I went to DC for four days and had to get food here twice it was so good. First I got their chicken pita wrap with a cucumber yogurt sauce. The pita was packed with chicken, fries, and veggies and was super filling. I also tried their pork pita wrap which was also really great. Definitely would recommend for something pretty quick and inexpensive.

Souvlaki has become my go-to place for fast casual - crazy to me there aren't more reviews! I typically opt for the plates, getting chicken skewers with the Tyrokafteri sauce, a spicy feta (so good!). For sides, hard to pass up Greek fries - so tasty with oregano and feta (the portion is also huge!). Love their side salads as well. Proteins are served with delicious pita. I often add an additional skewer, which also comes with pita - worth it and good left over. You really can't go wrong here - would highly recommend!

Delicious Pork Souvlaki wrap. This place uses the real, quality, soft pita. Not that more firm, kinda dry pita most places use. The pork was pretty tender, grilled with excellent flavor. My only complaint is that it was pretty skimpy on the pork even though I asked for and paid for "extra pork". I would not have enjoyed a wrap with the regular amount if that is the "extra" amount of meat. But good service, high quality and I will definitely be back. Well done!

This was one of the worst meals I've ever ordered for delivery. Fries were smashed into the pita, several completely flattened. The chicken was tough and unseasoned, the pita tasted stale, and overall was just bad.

If you like Greek cuisine, this place is perfect for you. Fun, fast and authentic Greek place in DC that is must try if you are in the area! They have the most tasty gyro I've ever had, and their fries are golden crispy and perfectly seasoned. Customer service is always friendly. Check them out. .

The best fast casual Greek food in DC! Located in DuPont - super convenient for dinner or lunch. They offer indoor/outdoor dining, take out, and delivery. The platters are great for sharing along with an appetizer. Don't skip dessert!

I had the Lamb wraps, It was horrible!!!!! I bought two on Saturday night. The Lamb was so tough you couldn't eat it. It was cubes of bricks. Almost broke a tooth it was so hard. My dog wouldn't even touch the stuff. I ordered it ordered to go. I emailed back the restaurant and nobody replied. I have tried this place a few times since I live near and every time it is OVERPRICED UNEDIBLE SO-CALLED GREEK FOOD. I guess I will go to my mainstay in Dupont Circle for greek food.

The mushroom pita sandwich is Flavorful with the spicy feta but it could use more filling. I do love the fries inside! The dressing on the village salad is bland. Wish it had more tangy and less watery Flavoring.

I ordered delivery after this was offered as a suggestion. I ordered the Make Your Own Platter with Lamb, Cucumber Tomato Salad, and Vegan Spanakopita. Overall, this was a good, quick dinner. However, everything was just okay, not fantastic. The lamb was overcooked and tough. The Cucumber Tomato Salad was refreshing, especially paired with the hummus. Unfortunately, the Vegan Spanakopita was missing flavor.

I live not far from Souvlaki so I decided to try it recently. They're only doing takeout right now, because of COVID. I ordered a chicken wrap, which has a decent amount of toppings included. I do think it's somewhat misleading in the way they list the wrap on the website, because to me it sounded like it came with a side of fries when the fries are actually IN the wrap. As for the food itself, the chicken was a little dry but it was flavorful. They really filled the wrap up with protein and veggies. I didn't like the fries being included inside the wrap, because they were pretty soggy by the time I got home. Their sauces are SPOT on. I got the tzatziki and the spicy feta. The Greek fries were a little bit disappointing. They're advertised to be topped with feta and oregano...but unfortunately the feta all falls to the bottom of the takeout container. Even when I poured them out it was tough to eat the crumbled feta with each fry. It's a tasty concept but doesn't really make sense when you try to execute. Despite a couple of shortcomings, I will be going back to Souvlaki for its convenience and good value for price!
