This place is such a hidden gem! Another hole in the wall restaurant. This is one of our favorite spots for Chinese food! Staff is very friendly, food is quick, and prices are affordable. I would highly recommend this place.

My husband and I were craving Chinese food. We have been in El Paso for a few months now and haven't missed the comfort of Chinese food until last week. I goggled and stopped on Soya's. The pictures looked decent, and the reviews were impressive. We went today, and I have to agree with the others..., the food and service are fantastic. I had chicken and garlic sauce with white rice, no veggies, and my husband had General Tso with fried rice..., and we each had an eggroll. I am so impressed with the flavor, lack of oil, and the firm, non-sticky rice. The eggroll was perfect; crispy outside and moist and fully stuffed inside. The chicken with garlic sauce was not overpowered with too much sauce, and the rice was steamed to perfection. My hubby's General Tso was on point. I had to swipe a piece. It was fried to perfection. Crisp and firm on the outside, juicy, and perfectly cooked on the inside. I didn't try the fried rice, but from his nearly emptied plate..., I would say it was decent. The service was wonderful. The 2 ladies who waited on us were kind, personable, and full of polite customer service. They welcomed everyone who entered. Also, in other reviews, they speak of ventilation concerns. We did not experience any of that. The atmosphere was great, and the restaurant was decent. Please give it a try. You shouldn't be disappointed. I know some are picky, to include myself..., but Soya's passed my test, and we will be back. Guaranteed. Thank you for the wonderful service and food.

Google
One of my favorite places for sure, i have tried almost all their plates, but my favorite one hands down is the "peppered shrimp", it is not on the menu but they will make it for you, you will not be disappointed.

Google
First Chinese restaurant stop I made here in El Paso today. I ordered the egg drop soup, which was delicious, and the sesame chicken which I enjoyed as well. The plate was very well served, I only made it half way through it and had to take the rest to-go. I enjoyed the quiet atmosphere and could smell the scrumptiousness before walking through the front door. I will definitely be back to try other plates soon. Update: I love their General TSO Chicken 😋😋

Google
We popped in after dropping our car off at Poe Toyota for service. A short walk down the street and we walked in, were greeted warmly & served quickly. The food was delicious, large portions (enough for lunch tomorrow!) A nice, clean, casual place. Highly recommend it!

Google
Quick but food is not that good. Resturant doesn't have ac and when they cook in the kitchen in the bag. All that spices comes in the air to the front of the building and makes everyone start coughing.
google avatar

Jose R.

Yelp
Food is very good, reasonably priced, and orders are quickly cooked. Better to call directly for better prices.

Yelp
My son and I wanted to try a new place for Chinese. He is a creature of comfort but I was excited to try a new place - it could go hit or miss. I am happy to report it was a huge hit! From the outside its not an attractive place but don't judge a book by its cover. As soon as we stepped inside and saw every table full I knew it would be a hit. It had a great vibe - you come here for a good, affordable meal. Sure enough, the service was fast, the food fresh, hot, and yummy, and the prices were very reasonable. I only wish they were closer to home. I am so grateful to have found another non-franchise eatery that my son approves!
google avatar

Yelp
The service was good and friendly. The price for the amount of food was very reasonable. The place was divey but what hole in the wall place isn't. The egg rolls were really good, the soup was awful . The fried rice was eh, kung pao chicken wasn't terrible. I don't have any plans to return. The soup tasted like old oil. Look at that color also, it's definitely sus.

Yelp
This place is frikkin DELISH!!! We come here from across the street Southwest University for lunch! We LUVIT!!!

Yelp
Very delicious . I will definitely be coming back again. I had the orange chicken w\ fried rice.

Yelp
Such a hidden gem. I remember coming here ages ago and decided to come by many years later - the quality is still amazing. They offer lunch specials and the servings are HUGE. I shared a plate with my mom they're so big. Outside of lunch prices the cost is between 10-13 bucks which isn't bad considering the amount of food you're getting. They take cash and card. They have canned sodas and Mexican bottle sodas no fountain drinks. Give this place a try!
google avatar

Katrina P.

Yelp
Best Chinese restaurant!! Don't be deceived by the unappealing building... their food is delicious and servings are huge: 3 meals served 5 of us, with leftovers! The lady (I assume owner) is super sweet. My favorite dish so far is the Sesame chicken
google avatar

Suley Z.

Yelp
Very nice portions for the price. Good flavor as well Got the general Tso and the Hunan beef (a lot of veggies and Good amount of beef in there) Not spicy at all. Great flavor. Enjoyed what we got very much. We could of definitely shared one plate comes with side of rice as well.

Beryl S.

Yelp
Absolutely love this little gem. Food is delicious, portions are very fair, price is amazing. This reminds me of New York Chinese food from the block and I appreciate them always being so friendly when we come in!

Khaled E.

Yelp
I love this place food is always good and delicious, services is fast, employees, and owner are super friendly, 10 out of 10
google avatar

Danielle S.

Yelp
I had high hopes based on previous good reviews but the egg drop soup was bland and that was disappointing as I was looking forward to good egg drop. The sweet and sour chicken was way too sweet. The fried rice wasn't even mixed all the way I had so many clumps of plain rice throughout it. My husbands general tso chicken was good that was the only positive from our experience.

Timothy S.

Yelp
I would more stars but the homeless asked me if I could buy him fries and the front receptionist was friendlier to him and all smiles while conversing! Not coming back, food was average and staff was good who cooked.
google avatar

Jason S.

Yelp
Under better ownership now. New owners are very nice! Previous owner was a bit rude. Several great dishes, large quantities, hot, fresh, and delicious. Your order comes out to your table in such randomness, but easy to look past. Definitely my favorite Chinese spot in town.
google avatar

Chris M.

Yelp
Wow that was some amazing Chinese food! I had cashew beef and it was amazing. Tender tasty well seasoned beef with tons of veggies in a very warm sauce. I haven't had Chinese food this good in years! Don't let the outside of the building put you off. The food is really good.

Jialan S.

Yelp
I ordered 3 dishes and ate there. Within 20 minutes right after I got back my hotel, my stomach feels weird, I knew the chicken tasted weird, i only had a few bites, then the oil is not clean either. I never go there again. Oh, I actually threw up later on. Not a good place to go.
google avatar

jessie a.

Yelp
For a very unassuming place the food was spot on. You can always count on getting hot and made to order. I went with the noodles n general Tao. It was very good and the portions are huge. The price is very reasonable for all you get. I docked a star because there was no room to sit so I had to take it to go. The service is usually pretty good. Don't go for lunch unless you have a long lunch hour. The place is small and seats maybe 20 people if that. Their lunch specials are around $5.
google avatar

Yelp
Amazing Chinese food. I'm in love with their kung pao chicken. I keep coming back for more. It help they have great customer service. Not a huge dinning room but great parking.
google avatar

Patty C.

Yelp
We loved the fried rice. Our food was delivered to our hotel. I would recommend to put orders with lots of sauce in a container so it won't spill and be such a mess when it's delivered. (flimsy white styrofoam) The white rice was not the type you can reheat & it'll stay soft but the fried rice was.

Yelp
Do you people have any idea how difficult it is to find decent Chinese food in El Paso?? It's like searching for the holy grail during the last crusade or something like that. Well, anyway...take a hole-in-the-wall place that accommodates 38 persons and produces delicious egg drop soup and more than half way decent fried rice; slap a modestly low key sign on the front and you've got Soya Cafe. There isn't much to the decorum of this place. I mean...it's a Chinese restaurant. Small, quaint and unassuming. The appealing punch is packed in the food and let me just say...I was honestly surprised! Today's classic little lunch started off as they often do with a nice warm cup of egg drop soup. Let me just say...I love the consistency and thickness of this broth. Coloring, texture and flavor were all spot on (unlike P.F. Changs). Best of all, there were plenty of egg whites jam packed in the soup. As an avid egg drop soup fan, I will tell you that THIS is the most crucial element that can be included in the Asian classic. Now, a little history as to how I came about bookmarking and eventually dining in this place. I've lived in El Paso for a long time, off and on. Point is...somehow I always keep coming back here and even during all that time, I have never found a Chinese restaurant worth getting even a little bit excited about. I normally gauge my affection for a place by their chicken fried rice and egg rolls. Because I have a theory: these two items are basic for Chinese take-away. So if either of these dishes are bizarre or, worse, severely screwed up, then I feel it's a strong indication that place just cannot cook. At Soya Cafe though, the fried rice is well seasoned, well portioned, well priced and didn't even need any additional soy sauce to help season it further. This has to be like...the first time that's ever happened! And I'm THAT guy. You know...the one who puts soy sauce on everything in a Chinese setting. Service was both cordial and johnny on the spot! Tanya Y. wasn't kidding when she said they always seem to be ready for the lunch rush. They had my soup out in seconds and the fried rice was served in under 10 minutes. Seriously, this place could put a lot of so-called "fast food" restaurants to shame with their speedy delivery. I can always appreciate an establishment that doesn't force me to wait an entire school semester for my food to come out. Also, the prices are very affordable! Talk about a cheaper, more delectable alternative to the illustrious P.F. Changs. I've got to remind myself to try the egg rolls next time I visit this place. Whether you're here for a fast lunch or traditional take-away, Soya Cafe easily gets 4 stunningly seasoned plates of chicken fried rice (but next time, hold the peas, please) out of 5.

Yelp
I like their combo fried rice (chicken beef shrimp $9). Their dinner portions are LARGE. The sesame chicken was too heavy and sweet for my taste tho, probly stick to a stir fry next time. Love that they pack sriracha in to-go orders. Very friendly service, seems family owned.

Yelp
Decided to order take out directly from the restaurant since I was craving American-Chinese food. Ordered the Hunan chicken extra spicy, egg drop soup and cream cheese crab puffs. I wasn't expecting something amazing since this city isn't an Asian food mecha, yet it was still kind of disappointing. Everything once it was out of the box less than 5 minutes after I left the restaurant was just lukewarm. The Hunan chicken wasn't even spicy, the meat was tough and chewy, and it had very little flavor in general. The box carrying it was leaking out quite a bit of oil from the styrofoam container, but oil can only do so much for this type of cuisine. What really got me was what they considered a cream cheese puff. As you see in the photo, the majority of the puffs were almost near hollow, at this point you might as well just call them won ton puffs. I think I even bit into one where the cream cheese was all dried and curdled up. I guess the saving grace was that the egg drop soup was actually pretty decent and had quite a bit of egg white in it. Granted you don't just go to a restaurant just for the soup, there's gotta be something filling and tasty along the way, and I definitely didn't find it here.
google avatar

Vivy H.

Yelp
Went there to get Hunan Chicken. People eat with their eyes initially. The restaurant isn't very clean. I was mortified. Luckily, they charged a $3 up charge to Amex Ex purchases and I could bow out of eating there w/out embarrassment. If owner is reading review. Please, remember, customers want CLEAN establishment w/ cooks wearing hair nets.

Yelp
My co-workers and I go out for lunch every Friday; best day of the week. This Friday we had to grab food quickly to be back for a meeting, but Soya Cafe kept this from being a problem. We arrived around 12 noon and we were sated and out the door by 12:30 PM! Such quick service for a sit down place, it's incredible. Their lunch specials are the perfect size (and you can easily add an egg roll or soup if you're an eater). Most of the lunch specials range from $4.50-$4.99. What a steal! I ordered General Tso's chicken for $4.99. The thick sauce and batter/chicken ratio I experienced were perfect. Don't miss this little restaurant hiding in a crowded strip plaza off of the main street intersection of where Montana turns into Airport Rd. Soya Cafe has a family-owned feel; our servers were very sweet (they're quick, but take it as efficient not rudeness). It's SUPER quick, cheap, and exactly the "Chinese food" that you crave. I gave my co-worker a crazy look for not telling me about this little gem sooner.

Mike D.

Yelp
Great food....great quick service. Hidden gem in a not so fancy strip center. Picked up lunch...big serving and great price. Will definitely go back when back in town.

Yelp
Great food at a great price. My favorite Chinese food restaurant in El Paso. This is on par with New York and New Jersey Chinese food; I spent 25 year's of my life there on the coast. I really love the food here and always look forward to return trips. I moved about 15 minutes away but it's worth the trip. If you like the Panda X garbage, this place blows them out of the water; and you need a new, more authentic, experience. I normally post photos but I eat the food so darn fast, it's too late. I'll remember to get pictures on my next food run. Enjoy!
google avatar

Travis D.

Yelp
Great little Chinese restaurant. Extremely generous portions. Friendly staff. Located on Airport, just before you reach Mescalero; be careful you might miss it. You'll be glad you found it. I was, and i will definitely be back. Fyi, they also have a house special which allows you to have a little of many menu items.

Yelp
I decide to try Yelp delivery fulfilled by Grub hub for the first time. I'm leery of paying for a service before it is rendered. We'll my hesitation was warranted, after 45 min waiting for a delivery, I found out the order was canceled by the restaurant... after getting a notice that it was on its way. Not going to use Yelp Order, Grub Hub, or order from Soya ever again.
google avatar

Rebecca D.

Yelp
First time trying this Chinese food place. We really liked it. As of late it's been hard to find good Chinese food. We'll definitely be back.
google avatar

Jaclyn C.

Yelp
My favorite Chinese in El Paso!!! We call in regularly, like once a week. We get orange chicken with friend rice, sesame chicken with noodles, egg rolls and friend wontons. It's always ready within 10-15 minutes. The portions are great. Two dinner meals feeds a family of 5 with left overs. If you like that American Chinese take out taste, this is THE spot to go! We've tried several other places and none taste as good.
google avatar

Adrianna Diaz C.

Yelp
I ordered take out for my lunch break. Found their prices to be extremely reasonable for the take out plate they provide. And I'm very glad it was neatly packed! No juices overflowing into the bag. Oh, and it didn't them long to make! A definite recommend.
google avatar

Heidi K.

Yelp
Hot delicious food at a great price. The employees are all so friendly and the order is always right. I have been going here for years and will continue to do so.
google avatar

Arrik S.

Yelp
Ordered Shrimp fried rice and steamed dumplingz... they didn't disappoint. Definitely in Love wit the Dumplingz idk whatz in that sauce that comez wit it but it iz on point like an Uncle Sam poster!

Yelp
Surprise, surprise! This hidden Chinese restaurant may in fact be my absolute favorite! With a name like Soya, I expected a Mexican restaurant (maybe I'm confusing Soya with Goya), but I assure you Soya Cafe is all about the Chinese food. Two very trustworthy Yelpers, Mabel S. and JL W. really peaked my interest in SC with two 4-star reviews promising cheap, tasty meals. And then I was completely sold when The Amazing Charles Y. said this was part of his lunch ritual. Okay, I'm in. A couple of times a week Charles and I meet up for lunch and one lucky day we settled on SC. Yes, it's a hole-in-the-wall. It was really easy to miss and it's on that weird part of Airport Road that's almost Montana. My GPS had me doing crazy Mission Impossible maneuvers just to get to the parking lot and once I crossed the parking lot/street barrier it said, "You're on your own. Duces!" I just about missed SC, but it just so happened the only open parking spot in the entire lot was right in front of my destination. I walked in to a tiny extremely cold cafe (this was the day of the first "cold" of the year) with about ten or fifteen tables. Evenly spaced and not cramped, but still cozy. Nothing to really ooh an ahh about, no personal touches, just a place to sit and eat. Since I was tardy for the party our menus were already placed on the table. According to Charles, the staff is the exact same since his very first trip. Because of that, I suspect it's family owned. Either way, our waitress was fast and polite. So reading the couple other reviews on here I thought, there can't really be anything good under $5. Lo and behold, the ridiculously delicious $5 lunch menu exists! Seriously didn't see anything over five buckaroos. That's insane! And I'm not talking about crappy dishes that you don't want. They had all of my favorite Chinese food favorites on the lunch menu. And even the holy grail of Chinese food (in my opinion)... Mongolian beef! The Mongolian beef was dangerously good and came in a true lunch portion (although if you're still hungry you can always double up 'cause it's only $5). Just spicy enough with a few red chilis mixed in, the perfect amount of veggies, and the fried deliciousness that is the Mongolian beef. The white rice that I had along with my meal was also perfectly cooked... none of that it's-been-sitting-in-a-rice-cooker-since-yeseterday crap. I have finally found my favorite Eastside Chinese eatery! Oh, and one thing we did notice... they seem to always be ready for a rush. They keep glasses filled with ice in the freezer so they're ready to go. Oh and also, it's a Chinese restaurant in El Paso, expect soda from a can.

Missy C.

Yelp
Always delicious. Cream cheese wontons don't have very much cream cheese in them though

Ag R.

Yelp
Visited 06/17/2022 no AC it must have been 100 degrees in the place. Ordered dine in lunch waited for 35 minutes asked the server for my order she said they were working it, Meanwhile people that ordered or came in after me got their food including my 3 friends. After 50 minutes i left. Terrible service, no AC didn't even get to the food part.
google avatar

Yelp
This by far has to be the worst and most disgusting "FAKE" Chinese food I've had in my 35 years! Being part of the El Paso military community, most have been to several different Chinese restaurants and while some recipes are different the foundation of the food doesn't change from place to place. On Saturday, December 7th 2019, I placed a substantial order which included, Orange Chicken, Beef and Brocolli, Shrimp Lo Mein, Orange Chicken, Fried Chicken and egg rolls that to totaled about $56. So, the LO MEIN was RAMEN NOODLES...... the fried chicken had orange chicken batter with not a pinch of salt. While the rest of the food was not appealing to the eye, I attempted to return the food items that did NOT match the description of the food nor the pictures. The old Chinese lady would not fix the order AND REFUSED TO REFUND ME MY $$$ and stated "ITS NOT HER PROBLEM! Needless to say, I went to PEKING Kitchen and reordered the items I attempted to return and it was delicious. I will be reporting SOYA Kitchen to all outlets available to prevent their rude customer service practices from affecting our community and the Soldiers who depend on local businesses! #DISGRACEFUL

Yelp
Outstanding food. Big portions. Doesn't hurt the wallet. Highly recommend this place!

Yelp
I loooooove Soya! The food is delicious and the position sizes are great. Every time I walk into the store the employees are always friendly. My favorite things to order are the broccoli beef (the sauce is delicious) and the sesame chicken! The food is always prepared quickly and they pack your takeout bag with all the necessities.
google avatar

Curt A.

Yelp
Always a great meal and always more than most people can eat in one sitting. Customer service is top notch. I try to eat here as often as I get the craving for some Chinese food.
google avatar

Mark A.

Yelp
The food is great, and made fast on the spot. This is the best, authentic, and most affordable Chinese food in El Paso!
google avatar

Samuel A.

Yelp
Ugly sign, but DELICIOUS food served in huge portions. The service was fantastic. Defenitely coming back.

Yelp
Fried rice! Lo mein! Chow mein! shrimp and Broccoli! All very good. Service is quick and food is extremely tasty!
google avatar

Joe Lee H.

Yelp
This is my first time here. The service was quick & attentive, we were greeted when we walked in. The entrees are generous and delicious. 3 of us each ordered an entrée, they are so large the next time we will order & share them. Great place, great service and quickly served.

Yelp
Hidden gem of great cheap Chinese lunch specials. Almost hate to let you in on it, because some days it fills up...mostly with guys with their names on their shirts from nearby businesses or Ft Bliss. We go almost once every week, and I'm driving from downtown, all the way to Airport Road, and it still only takes an hour. This is in part because they put our order in the minute they see us walk in. It's that kind of place. And they know we always get the one vegan option on their $3.99 - $4.99 lunch special, and that's the tofu with vegetables at $4.99. Some days I wish I had the willpower to stop eating halfway and box it up, but instead I slather it with sriracha (always on the table) and devour every bit. It's fresh, consistent and come-as-you-are: just a little bitty dive that no one would ever notice unless they had cheap-Chinese radar and were unafraid to try someplace that looks a little scary from outside. I've never run into anyone I know there, but I'll be looking for you all now, and if I can't get a table, I'll be mad at you - but happy for the hardworking folks that run this tight little ship. Check it out.
google avatar

Charles Y.

Yelp
This place is a hidden secret of mine for lunch. The lunch menu has 25 Chinese choices to choose from at only $4.99 a plate. Service is always fast and friendly. I have been coming to this little hole in the wall for 5 years and the same waitresses are still here! Need a quality but economical lunch, this is it.

Kerline U.

Yelp
Food was hot and on time, but not very tasty. Noodles and vegetables were overcooked, shrimps were very small. I'm sorry, but overall, I did not like the food at all.
google avatar

Jess H.

Yelp
Hidden hole in the wall!!! These are my favs. Price was right $5.00 lunch special! Korean owners, super nice, and fast fast fast. In and out on my lunch hour. My chicken chow mien was a little in the sweet side but I doubt if others would complain. I am not a total Chinese food snob like my husband but I have had the most Ono-luscious Chinese food in Honolulu so I feel like I have a good base to compare. For El Paso... Good place to check out!
google avatar

Mike F.

Yelp
Soya has definitely gone down hill in the quality of food they are serving. I had the sesame chicken last Friday and today I had the general tso's chicken. They were both over cooked. The chicken was cut into small chunks, and it was quite hard. The fried rice was already room temperature when it came out. My wife and I used to love coming here. We won't be back!
google avatar

Charity M.

Yelp
The food was not impressive tasted like Panda Express. I thought it would be more authentic but it wasn't. Ordered additional egg rolls and never got them. I probably won't go back and pick th
