This cozy little spot has a small menu, but everything is simple, fresh, and delicious. The restaurant itself is small and charming, with just a few tables inside and out—perfect for a casual meal. The service was warm and friendly, and the quality of the food really stood out. Great place if you’re looking for a no-fuss sushi experience done right.

Sozo Sushi Bar in Wilton Manors is an absolute gem that elevates the sushi dining experience to unparalleled heights. From the moment you step inside this intimate, family-run establishment, you’re embraced by a warm and inviting atmosphere that makes you feel like part of their extended family. The sushi here is nothing short of extraordinary.

It is said that this sushi restaurant is quite tasty but the price of single items is a bit high. Maybe the rent is very expensive. I hope there will be more creative single item sushi.

We liked Sozo so much that we came back the next night. Friendly service, great quality food. Sashimi was super fresh; salmon, yellow tail, tuna, you name it.

This is our favorite Sushi restaurant in the South Florida. The owners are amazing and very welcoming. The food is authentic and delicious, remember to also order the famous white wine they offer. It will be very hard for you to like any other sushi restaurant after you try Sozo.

Google
Our favorite spot for sushi. It’s a small shop, so you won’t fit you and 10 of your closest friends! But for 2-4 people, it’s a good dining spot. Expect a low key vibe, good food, and friendly service. We are repeat customers for sure! ❤️

Google
Ive been a loyal patron of this restaurant for 10 yeaes. Sam {Father) nd Mo (daughter) are NY transplants who ran a successful storefront for over 30 years....... they bring a level of freshness and quality unseen in the region. their sushi slices are finger thick....... not the wafer thin version of 95% of sushi restaurants. the cozy intimate space is a pleasure and the hands-on service is top-notch. I strongly encourage you to seek this under the radar gym!

Google
Phenomenal! The most fresh, and delicious sushi I’ve had in awhile. The portions are good size and reasonably priced. In NY I would of paid at least double the price. Nice service, family owned.

Yelp
Without question the best sushi in all of Florida! This is a hidden gem that if ever discovered would have a like down the block! The freshest, highest quality fish you'll ever find and perfectly seasoned rice. Amazing ceviche and a special roll called ultraman that has the best toro you will ever eat! And on top of all that it's a bargain! If nearby this is a must visit if you love sushi!

Yelp
Unique recipes and amazing service! If you are in the mood for high-quality sushi with a unique twist on some traditional favorites, look no further than Sozo Sushi. This cozy neighborhood restaurant is one of the few sushi places I trust in the area + the service is top notch. TIP: This place tends to get busy fast. I recommend planning an early dinner if possible. Also, I suggest sitting at the bar. It makes for a more fun visit and you might be able to see some of the sushi being made.

Yelp
A wonderful family-run small business in the heart of Wilton Manors. It is a cozy and romantic space with places for couples, small groups and places for single dinners. The space is clean and visually pleasing with nice furniture and blooming orchids. The service is super friendly and personable. And the food... this must be one of my favorite sushi restaurants in South Florida. The fish is so fresh and delicious, I always get the chefs choice entrée. The sashimi is always a nice fat slice of fish with perfectly cooked rice. The rice is really important to me because I don't like old stale rice or overcooked mush.

Yelp
It's our second visit and this place - doesn't disappoint! Embark on a culinary adventure with the best sushi, where freshness meets artistry in every bite. From silky sashimi to meticulously crafted nigiri, each piece is a testament to the chef's skill and dedication. Sourced from the finest ingredients, the best sushi boasts impeccably fresh fish that tantalizes the palate with its delicate flavors. Sushi chef meticulously prepare each piece with precision and care, ensuring a culinary masterpiece with every bite. It's difficult to spoil the dish as long as you are keeping it simple and fresh! And that's exactly what you have there. We had miso soup, two sushi Rolls and few Toro sashimi and eel pieces. Everything was outstanding! Reasonably priced. Highly recommend to visit this place and we'll be back soon again!

Yelp
Truly delicious sushi. Slices of fish a little on the large side for my taste but still amazing. Not only is the food great but the service feels extremely personal and warm. Cannot recommend it enough!

Yelp
This place is tiny. 4 seats at the sushi bar; 3 seats at a window counter; a couple tables inside and out. But it's one of the more authentic sushi places you'll have the pleasure of visiting in Fort Lauderdale. Even though it was Saturday night in the big city (Wilton manors), we lucked out finding parking across the street. And we got lucky again with 2 seats open at the sushi bar. The menu is limited. No Thai or other Asian dishes here. And if you don't eat raw fish, you are even more limited. But whatever you do order, you will like. My husband had the chef's special sushi entree -- 10 pieces of very fresh fish -- including eel and a small roll. He said it was excellent. He also liked his small (piping) hot sake. I started with a green salad. Mainly romaine lettuce with carrots and ginger dressing. I'd wanted their crabtastique roll -- which sounded fantastic, but they no longer offer it. I chose their caliente -- but left off the jalapeños. It was a roll with shrimp tempura, fish roe, and avocado. It was good. I then added on one piece of tobiko (flying fish eggs) sushi for a bit of "crunch". Yum. Everyone was quite nice. We had enjoyable conversations with our fellow diners at the bar. And with the gal preparing all the many takeout orders. The guy that waited on us was friendly as well. These two people plus the talented sushi chef were the entire staff. A belated thank you to fellow Yelp Elite Marqus R who gave this place a favorable review years back. I'd bookmarked it a long time ago -- and we are so glad we finally came here. Now we know where to recommend when someone wants good authentic sushi in a non pretentious setting.

Yelp
Miso soup was great, service was okay, sushi was good but too soft, good flavors tho. Poor presentation skills.

Yelp
This small phenomenal restaurant is located in the heart of Wilton Manors. It has only a few tables indoors and one or two outdoors. It has a great ambiance and vibe to it. This is some of the best sushi I have had in South Florida and I highly recommend checking it out. It also isn't insanely priced. It's not cheap but it's not crazy. The Toro and all the fish tasted amazing and extremely fresh. Try the Sozo roll and the Nigiri. This is truly a hidden gem!

Brandon S.

Yelp
Good sushi place. Cozy interior and friendly service. I personally like Kaizen better but this place is good if you're in the Wilton Manors area.

Yelp
New fav sushi bar in the area! So clean and fresh! Staff is friendly. Pretty small place though. Would NOT be good for big groups.

Yelp
Hats off to fellow Yelper Marqus R who once again steered us in the right direction with his review! We were able to find street parking and walked across the street to this small gem. The window seats were filled with diners and inside a two top just opened up and two seats at the Sushi bar. We sat at the bar and immediately were served with water and menus. An adequate selection of fresh dishes and imaginative rolls. I chose the Sushi special which was ten pieces of chef's choice. The chef hit it with salmon, tuna, whitefish , snapper, a roll with fish, avocado and cumber, and a nice piece of eel. Everything was super fresh and satisfying! I also ordered some hot Saki which came piping hot and was wonderful. The atmosphere is friendly, staff and customers, and a great place for a relaxing delicious meal.

Yelp
The freshest sashimi around, amazing toro, and great service! Come here often and always enjoy whatever I have!

Yelp
Great quality sushi. Attentive service. Reasonable prices. Make it a special night and get some.

Yelp
First time ordering here. Not sure why but what a great impression. Japanese Bagel roll was so fresh and the Dragon roll was exceptional. The Spider-Man roll was loaded with fresh seafood. A great spin on the traditional spider roll. The Volcano was also loaded with different textures of a tasteful seafood. Will for sure explore this place again

Yelp
Intimate family owned fresh sushi bar. This was a first time for me at this bar and it's 5* all the way. Only 10 seats but definitely worth the wait. highly recommend the fresh red snapper ceviche. so delicious! The Sozo was also a fan favorite. You will not be disappointed if you love fresh sushi in a intimate environment.

Jaime F.

Yelp
I LOVE Sozo! We moved out of Wilton Manors a few years ago and whenever I come back to town for a visit this is my first dinner stop. I've friend every roll on the menu and love them all. My go-to favorites are the fierce! The Wilton and the OMG. Personally I think their ginger dressing is some of the best as well. I also enjoy the sushi and sashimi, the toro, salmon and hamachi are always great cuts. Also, don't sleep on the seafood soup. It's a small place, and they don't take reservations, but it's worth the wait.

William V.

Yelp
Do you really like to be rushed through dinner? Do you want to be greeted by someone saying at 9:. You only have 30 minutes? Come here . Foods ok.
google avatar

Shaan A.

Yelp
Possibly one of the best spots in Fort Lauderdale for a fresh sushi roll. All of the sushi is made with the freshest fish and ingredients. Family working there is awesome. Try the Wilton roll!

Rich G.

Yelp
Best Sushi I have had in South Florida hands down! Extremely fresh and delicious. You will not be disappointed!

Yelp
The second time was a huge improvement over the previous. They had everything in the menu and the wait time was significantly shorter even with a full house.

Yelp
Sushi was good, especially Sozo, OMG and Yellowtail Fever rolls. Delivery time was relatively quick as well.

Yelp
Sozo Sushi Bar in Wilton Manors drive is a family run Sushi restaurant. It was so small that I walked past it several times not noticing the place, until someone actually mentioned it when we were craving for sushi while on vacation in the Fort Lauderdale area. Our group of five chose to be seated outside since the weather was nice. We started with their few appetizers to share such as seaweed salad, crab meat dumplings and spicy soup together with a decent bottle of Sake. I found the appetizers underwhelming and not original, it's something you can find in any Americanized Japanese restaurant, especially for the price. It was the sushi rolls that made all the difference. I chose the Sozo, a spicy tuna-king, crab-avocado with scallion and tempura crisp roll. It was freshly made, flavored beautifully and filling. Although somewhat pricey for what it's worth, we all agreed that the sushi rolls were indeed very delicious and gave us reason to definitely come back and support this mom and pop business on Wilton Drive!

Yelp
I hear a lot of people in Wilton Manors complain there are too many sushi restaurants on the Drive. There really are only a few, and I'd rather have more! I love quality sushi and sashimi and find pretty slim pickings in Wilton Manors. Sozo Sushi Bar is the only purely focused sushi bar, not combined with other Asian cuisines or noodles. It's unbeatable in the freshness and quality of sashimi cuts. The menu is small and primarily focused on tuna and yellowtail rolls. Luckily for me hamachi yellowtail is one of my favorite sashimis. Their OMG roll with yellowtail, jalapeño, lemon zest, scallion and lemon garlic vinaigrette is simple and delicious. The Snaptabulous roll is decadent with spicy hamachi, avocado, tempura crisp topped with shrimp. The New Yorker roll is a great choice if you like spicy tuna. My friend and I go after happy hour. Their miso soup is spot on, and ceviche of the day always wonderful. Ask if they have toro. Two slices of fatty tuna will blow your mind. The sushi chef gave us some yuzukosho paste as an added spicy condiment for the toro. Yum! Sozo is a super tiny, family run place with mom, dad and daughter running the show. We enjoy the banter. I gladly spend a bit more here for the personable service and quality sushi. It's also nice to help out a family owned small business than a corporate chain. The atmosphere is bright, intimate and minimalist chic. Plus if your iPhone battery is dying, they'll charge it. Nice service!

Yelp
Two of us shared a couple of appetizers and rolls. We arrived around 6:30PM and we were the only two people. When we left, there were two more people inside and three sitting at the outside tables It's a nice space. We started with edamame and shu mei, both were decent. The shu mei wrapper was a little chewy and the edamame had a bit of a snap to them. The spicy tuna roll was better than the "wilton roll", which was kind of the same as your standard "bagel roll". The white rice was wrapped on the outside and I forgot to ask for brown rice. We weren't offered it either. The rolls were loose and broke apart easily when picking them up. With two Diet Cokes, served in the can, the total was $44, plus $10 tip. I don't think that's expensive, but not much of a value either. I'd try it one more time.

Yelp
We lived in Wilton Manors for 22 years and a soon as Sozo opened it was our favorite sushi bar ever. From that point forward, wherever we traveled and tried a sushi in another state or country, our standard for excellence was looking for sushi better than Sozo. We never found one. Now I would say that some came close. But we felt very lucky to have this wonderful gem in the center of our neighborhood. If you have not tried Sozo and you like sushi, do yourself a favor and make it a point of your next or even your visit to Wilton Manors and truly enjoy the best sushi in South Florida.

Stu C.

Yelp
Some of the best sushi I've tasted. Tuna nearly melted on my tongue and the crab shumai was incredible. Friendly service too and still has that family-owned feel.
google avatar

Yelp
Good quality but terrible service. They have canceled ordered even after I placed it. Just called for a table and before I could even ask a question they hung up the phone and didn't answer again.

Douglas F.

Yelp
Family owned high quality small place. The rolls are delicious an plentiful. The presentation is not very "tight" but the freshness and flavor is fantastic!

Yelp
AMAZING!!! In one word! Love this place to pieces. First time here and will be a regular. Fresh, fun and filling. The sushi menu is filled with great choices. I chose the tempura based rolls because I wanted something warm. The Mango tango and the caliente...divine!!! I started with the seared tuna salad and the crab shumai... yeah, I was hungry. Lol Can't wait to be hungry again and know where to go!

Camren K.

Yelp
Best sushi I've had regardless of the price. Hidden gem in the Fort Lauderdale area. Family owned and extremely friendly, highly recommended.

Ekaterina K.

Yelp
This family owned place is just incredible! Very cute and not that big, but the food was amazing! Highest quality of sashimi, rolls were so delicious and different from another local places. If I was Michelin star giver, I would give one to this place. Sorry, we ate everything before I recalled to take pictures :)))

Yelp
I've been away from Sozo for far too long. Now, I can't say that anymore. Stopped in the the other night and had a fantastic meal. Ordered a total of three rolls (don't judge) and a miso soup. Rolls were excellent. The roll that made me really happy that I saw it on the menu was the 'OMG' Roll. It's a relatively new addition to the menu, I was told, and it was so good, I actually said, 'OMG,' when I tasted it. It's hamachi with some jalapeño and lemon zest, served with a lemon garlic vinaigrette on the side that takes the place of your traditional soy sauce. Flavors really played well together. And the lemon garlic vinaigrette was a terrific way to finish that roll. 'OMG,' for sure. Also ordered a Superstar Roll and a Crabtastic roll. They were two more excellent choices on my part. And the miso soup was really good, too. Thoroughly enjoyed everything that came to my table. Sozo is a tiny, little, casual-chic place right on Wilton Drive. Family owned and operated. (It's always great to see that dynamic in action) Very intimate and welcoming. Feels pleasantly sophisticated while also remaining approachable and casual. Prices are right in line with the prices for sushi that you'd expect to see across South Florida. Now that I've 'rediscovered' Sozo, I'm going to make sure that I keep it on my short list - and, like, way up at the top, too.
google avatar

Julie E.

Yelp
My favorite sushi restaurant in South Florida. Small family run, small menu but fresh and delicious. My favorite is the no rice New Yorker roll.

Patcharida D.

Yelp
I'm so happy I found Sozo because the sushi is phenomenal! My absolute favorite is their ceviche and OMG roll but I've tried almost everything and they're perfect! Lovely family owned restaurant where they remember you from the first time you dine there.
google avatar

Marqus R.

Yelp
Of all the sushi bars we have in South Florida, Sozo is tops on my list, particularly since they do such an excellent job on their sashimi which I tend to prefer over the typical pressed onto vinegared rice sushi dishes. I love the small friendly easy going atmosphere as well as the perfectly prepared tasty foods. The seaweed salad is one of the best, the monk fish liver unique, rich and tasty, the octopus so simple yet so good, the eel totally greaseless, and the fatty tuna-toro being of the real, best and most tasty cut that can only be had from the belly of the tuna. Yes, I've had them all and then some. Being small and located on "The Drive" of Wilton Manors, in the very heart of the "Gayborhood," it attracts a pleasant rather quiet but very mixed loyal dining crowd of both gays and straights; with neither seeming to predominate or, for that matter, being all that noticeably different of a mix or group that you'd see on Las Olas. For the quality of the sashimi (not their sushi, though it is also very good) and its simple casual yet pleasing atmosphere, Five Stars.
google avatar

Chris U.

Yelp
It's the best sushi in Fort Lauderdale. The Japanese family that runs the restaurant is friendly and makes a great product. The sushi master behind the counter knows his craft and always greets you with a smile. I've found that my best choices there have been to go with the chef's choice sushi and sashimi. I've never been led down the wrong path and it always represents the absolute freshest and best sushi available for the day. The specialty rolls get a bit crazy, but are always delicious. The ceviche is not something you'd typically find at a sushi restaurant, but it's an amazing way to start your meal, as is their excellent miso soup. It should be noted that they have a nicely chosen selection of sake, along with beer and wine. I enjoy sitting outside in nice weather to get some people watching in for dessert...
google avatar

Atfn J.

Yelp
They're the best Sushi restaurant in town!! I love their service and quality. I recommend them to everyone.

Michael D.

Yelp
This place was absolutely amazing! All of the fish was very fresh the staff was extremely attentive and the ceviche was to die for!!! I will absolutely be coming back to this place in the future.
google avatar

Yelp
By far the best sushi in Fort Lauderdale! Being family run, it's small inside however provides a personal touch. You feel like your family. Amazing rolls that are prices fairly based on the portion. They also are one of the few places in the area that has fresh Toro. Yum! A must in Fort Lauderdale if you are a sushi lover!
google avatar

Zeshan A.

Yelp
Hands down the best sushi in the area! Small yet impactful place on authenticity and clean. Service was quick and sushi was fresh and full of flavor. This is a real sushi delight. The Wilton roll was my favorite when visiting!

E S.

Yelp
Great atmosphere, good service & price point, and fresh high quality sushi with some creative menu options to pair with classics. This is our go-to sushi spot in the area, and visiting from the west coast we're picky about sushi. Small & a real gem, recommended.
google avatar

David R.

Yelp
The food here is excellent. It is small, intimate and family owned and operated. While the menu is somewhat limited compared to other larger sushi restaurants, the quality is unquestioned. And the friendliness of service and attention is outstanding.
google avatar

Kevin C.

Yelp
What a charming and simple place. The elegance is in the simplicity for this small restaurant. The owners are pleasant, the food is amazing. My husband saw this place while he was visiting Wilton Manors. He told me about it and I was so happy when we came back to Florida and got the chance to go here. This is a great place to start a date night in the strip. Definitely check it out. I recommend the ceviche, it was so good I ate it without thinking to get a pic.
google avatar

Roger P.

Yelp
This place is incredible! I have ordered take out twice...both times it was delicious. I can't wait to go back. Definitely 5+++ stars!!!!
google avatar

Joe R.

Yelp
This place is amazing! They offer sushi in an relaxed attractive atmosphere. The New York Roll is made with cucumber as the base of the role. Inventive and amazingly good. The seaweed dada is freshly made, as well as the edamame. The tuna rolled had freshly toasted sesame seeds which a simple roll taste amazing.
google avatar

Yelp
Awesome food I wish there will be open during the day and for dining in So far the only option this delivery service or carry out
google avatar

Aaron H.

Yelp
I'm from a part of the country that does not get fresh seafood, so you can discount this as you see fit... But this is the best sushi place I've ever been to. The prices are reasonable, the fish fresh and delicious. I've been 3 of the 5 nights I've been in town. The staff is friendly. Our server chased is down the street to return my girlfriend's coat. The space is tiny, only a handful of tables, and the mood of the place is going to be quite determined by who you share the space with.
