This review is for the spa only (I didn't stay at the hotel). Thoroughly recommended! The massage was great, and the swimming pools and jacuzzi were first class. Excellent service. Will happily come again.

The decor is really impressive and the lounge area very comfortable offering an open fire making the evenings very cosy. On arrival check in is a real pleasure being accompanied by a complimentary glass of wine. The room we had was on 5th floor a little more expensive than a basic room but worth the extra. The bed was very comfortable and Wi-Fi and amenities very good. Shower was excellent. The restaurants were excellent and the food of very good quality. Service at all times was superb. Be aware the hotel is in a remote area so unless you are prepared to drive our you do need to take all meals at the hotel. The bar menu is exceptionally good and there are free tours of the vineyards - worth taking. There is an offer of complimentary glass of sparkling wine each day. However this was so bad we gave the vouchers back unused! This was a shame as the wine standard was good. I would suggest just offer 1 glass of good wine, rather than 1 every day. The indoor pool is lovely. There is an extensive spa service, some of our party used this and liked it - personally I found it a little expensive. I would definitely recommend.

This was my second time staying at the spa. The last time was before Covid.||I had business in Caxias do Sul, which is about 45 min drive but the property being a Marriott property, there is a certain level of comfort and expectations. Also, being an elite Bonvoy means some extras. I had a very nice selection of snacks in the room with a note and a bunch of vouchers to enjoy the Spumante on tap they had on the terrace in the afternoon.||That said, most of the guests are Brazilians although I think I heard some Spanish.||It’s a romantic place the every inch of the property was carefully designed and decorated. The views are exceptional.||The breakfast buffet is one of the nicest I have seen. It’s a thing and in a very elegant and upscale dining room.||The bedrooms were decent and clean. I think it has been remodeled and in fact the 3rd floor looked empty and being renovated.||Very nice staff, although not all speak English. ||Yes, it’s out of the way and it really is a place for couples and people on vacation, but two business men, but we enjoyed it.

Who knew Brazil had a wine region? I didn't..||Great little stay at this hotel for two nights. Chosen because we had a few days to kill in the area and the Marriott brand carried some decent promise with it.||We elected to drive from Porto Alegre which was about 1.5 hours on not necessarily the best quality or well signed roads. We eventually found the place after driving at night.||The daytime revealed beautiful views from our room in a charming area of the countryside. This location is right in the wine region with many wineries both small and large in the immediate area.||Staff were friendly and although one of us spoke Portuguese, many of them spoke fairly good English.||The room was comfortable though truly nothing spectacular, which we expected. The AC was a little on the light side, although we had two nice sleeps.||The restaurant situation was mildly complicated with different menus coming out of the same room essentially. Sunset on the patio was lovely.||Overall, I'm glad I came to this hotel and area of the country. What a nice little surprise for a few days of doing something different while in the south.

Overall the experience was good excluding the spa. The outside of the hotel and grounds are amazing. Great location and easy travel to all the 38 vineyards in Bemto Gonçalves. The food was ok, breakfast was very nice especially the guy working the coffee machine and the gentlemen working the omelet station. Staff was attentive and helpful in the front and in the restaurants. The Spa staff humiliated my non-portuguese speaking wife. They gave her a well used robe that was far too small for her size. The interaction left my wife feeling as the staff had laughed at her while pleading for a larger sized robe in font of other guests so she left the spa and returned to our room. I was visiting wineries with my kids at the time and returned to the hotel immediately after getting a call with my wife crying on the other end. I and my daughter went to the spa and spoke assertively with the manager and staff canceling the other scheduled spa treatments during our stay. We left as scheduled the following day. Lack of empathy and knowledge in Portuguese likely contributed to this situation. So whereas I would have been fine to return if the spa incident never occurred, I cannot return with my family and urge those without a good understanding of Portuguese to either not go or go with someone who speaks Portuguese fluently. As well, after posting this comment on trip advisor their media relations manager responded suggesting my review might be due me trying to get a better deal or service out of the hotel. I happily paid in full and will not need any other service from this hotel in the future. The media service might need better training in empathy as well.

This is an amazing hotel in the Vale dos Vinhedos ! It’s worth every single dólar you can spend there. The breakfast with all you can eat and drink sparkling wine and mimosas with a high quality Miolo products. The staff can’t do enough to make you happy . Jennifer the Restaurant manager and her staff will make your experience out standing !!! We had the 509 room facing the beautiful vineyards . Adan at front desk from Ireland speaks English and helped us a lot . The most amazing sunset at the “Vale dos Vinhedos” with a paring food and drinks and a DJ music ! We had a couple massage at the luxury Spa with a pure olives seed oil . Actually this is my second time at this hotel and will come back again for sure .

2 night stay as a couple. For context, we are locals from Porto Alegre (capital) and were in town to tour a specific group of wineries for an upcoming event. We are also frequent guests of the Marriot chain with elite guest status, having stayed in Marriott properties in 3 continents. Breakfast service was positive with attentive staff and a generous assortment of food and beverages. The downside of the breakfast is that they did not serve ´Cuca´, a traditional cake in the region. Champagne and mimosas at breakfast are great to start the day before visiting the wineries. Apart from breakfast, all of our meals were outside the hotel. We did not use spa, gym or pool services due to our tight schedule. Tip: book a table in advance for the 'Sunset' experience and catch a beautiful sunset at the open air restaurant where a in-house DJ plays some tunes. Now to the negative part of our stay. Sad to say, the room we booked does not meet the Marriott standards we are accustomed to. We stayed in room 514. Dated furniture and decor in the room, bath-towels were torn, and mold and dust present in the air-vents to the point where they present a health-hazard. See the photos in my review for details. Another negative experience is that I reserved a dinner table for 5 with the concierge and invited my brother, his wife and 5 year-old for dinner. When reserving the table, the concierge did not inform me that this is an adult only hotel and we were denied service when my brother and family arrived at the hotel. This was a negative experience for us. Had the concierge inquired about who would be joining me at dinner, we would have avoided the situation. When I asked to speak to the hotel manager about the incident, he offered apologies but that was it. He did not offer to help us reserve dinner at another location. The valet service was positive with the exception of one evening where it was raining and our car delivered in the rain, instead of the covered space. I mentioned this to the valet on duty and that an umbrella is normally offered in a situation like mine. He acknowledged but did not have one on hand. Bed quality is medium where mattress springs are clearly old. Pillows are all the same, and there were no options for sturdier pillows. Towels in the bathroom in poor condition (see photos). Overall we have rated our stay as poor. The value for money is just not there are there are boutique hotels in the same region for the same amount with a 'real' luxury experience. We noticed that the hotel has invested in marketing and that has attracted their customers, but the quality is lacking when compared to hotels from the Marriott Autograph Collection around the world.

We went to Spa do Vinho to try to dine. ||We stayed there last year and it was great! Service was impeccable! ||This time they were not available and we tried booking the sunset experience at the restaurant. ||The day before I called nearly 13 times and the phone line just got disconnect.||Yesterday when we finally got an answer they said it was probably going to be canceled due to the weather forecast but they had some cancelations and would call if they re-opened.||Since there was no storm (nor a phone cal either), we decided to go to the restaurant to try.||When we arrived we were given a parking ticked and at absolutely no time were informed about a fee charge. ||When we got to the host he said they could not accommodate us. Even though we were frustrated since nobody called back, we were ok since no one had the obligation to do it since we did not have an initial reservation.||When we got to the gate the person informed us that we had to go back to the reception to validate our parking ticket.||Once there a person named Mariana charged us for it. We explained we had nearly spent 10 min at the place and she still said in a not polite manner we had to pay. And we did. When we asked for a receipt she said they don’t do receipts for a parking ticket. We insisted since there is a fiscal law in Brazil that states that one must be issued for any service or product you sell. She continuously saying it was not a practice at the place. I asked to speak to the manager SEVERAL times and she said he would not come to talk to us. ||About 30 min later when I said I was going to call the police then, since they were going against the law, a manager (Nicolas) who barely said good afternoon to us said their finance department was closed and if I wanted I could get a receipt today (again against the local legislation). I went through the entire story and he as extremely rude and I said I could call the police. Not to mentioned he was wearing a mask only half way in his face, configuring another law breakage since it’s mandatory at the city). ||It was a small fee and honesty I wouldn’t mind paying had I been told before. It was a matter of wasting my time being poorly treated at a “5” star hotel! ||I was promised to be sent the receipt today during business hours and it is now 6PM and nothing is sent.||I will never return to the place. As I said, I never expected to be treated the sai I was at five star “signature” place! ||Having to tell the receptionist I was going to call the police to have a manager as rude as she was to come talk to me it’s absolutely unacceptable. Not the Marriot treatment I am used to! ||When we left we also noticed the restaurant was not fully occupied, so again it shows no care for the guests!||One thing is for sure, I would never return and will make sure the authorities know about the fact that the hotel is going against the legislation.||Very sad since last year we had a great experience.
