Space City Birria

I love the quesabirrias. I had to ask for their lunch special because I wanted to try their rice and beans. The charro beans needed salt and the cosome of the birria was amazing once I added the radishes and cilantro and lime. The rice tasted like my mom and sister were in the kitchen. I really enjoyed it.

Tried Space City Birria for the first time and it did not disappoint! I ordered the Al Pastor tacos and they were absolutely amazing — full of flavor and cooked perfectly. The service was just as impressive. Everyone made me feel right at home from the moment I walked in. I dined in, and the vibe was great — relaxed, welcoming, and fun. The drinks are strong (in a good way!), and I happened to be there on Lotería night, which made the experience even better. Prices are fair and totally worth it for the quality and atmosphere. Highly recommend checking this place out — I’ll definitely be back!! H-Town Baby!

The meat in the quesabirria is not bad. Opting for shredded beef over ground elevated the taco’s texture and depth of flavor. My set came with flavored rice and sausage & beans, both of which tasted very good. I also recommend the tamarind jarritos soda that’s not too sweet but has a refreshing taste.

I drove 3 hours to finally make Loteria night with my lil brother. The atmosphere was a whole entire vibe! The food was top tier. I had a torta, chips and queso, rice, and the elote was a favorite. Beer on tap was perfect as well as my tequila sunrise with Don Julio! I won a prize also during one round! The service was welcoming. Don’t miss out on this we enjoyed it.

When I say this is the best meal I’ve had in Texas IT is not a lie. The Ramen Birria Combo is absolutely 🔥. Everyone working here is so friendly and welcoming and they care about the customers. To have a spot like this must be a dream and I Love IT. Ask for the Hot Hot Sauce

I came for the birria and was not disappointed. It was good and so were the drinks. Also, I tried the quesadillas and thoroughly enjoyed them. They have some good Jalepeno also, but I preferred the Habenero salsa for the extra kick. I was offered a hotter sause, but I was planning on walking g around the area afterward, so I opted out of the Chile oil based salsa. This Place is a must for Birria lovers.

YES, go HERE! Looking for a Birria place? This is the one. Finding a nice place where food is good and people are nice can be tough. And I was glad we found this gem. Luis (owner’s father) was SO kind and friendly and also everyone there. I called while trying to find a parking spot and whoever answered stated they could sit the 6 of us. And they did! We did not waited long to be seated after an Astros game. Quesa-birria and Birria Ramen were sooo good! Sorry, took pics of everything but the food lol ooops

What a place, definitely don't miss a chance to eat the best tacos in Houston! Great atmosphere, the staff is next level very friendly, when you walk in you feel like you're hanging out with friends. Great big screen to watch games. Can't wait to go back this place is not to be missed!!

We were getting picked up from here for a tour, so we had about a little under an hour to grab a quick-small, meal. My husband and I split the 4 tacos and queso and chips. I wished the queso was a bit more melted but it tasted great. The tacos, we ordered 2 al pastor and 2 carne asada. Flavor wise it was great and the jalapeño was the perfect spice. Both the red and green sauce were great as well. Would definitely come back and order other menu items. My only critique was that the menu was a bit hard to read because the background is an animated stars in the galaxy but the description were smaller font and in white. If they maybe did a white text box with black font, it would be easier to read. Overall though, we enjoyed the tacos.

The birrias were fantastic. They were very meaty, cheesy and nicely crispy shell. The cheese isn't salty, a nice balance with the meat. The ramen was nice, basically ramen noodles in the birria stew. Staff were friendly and helpful. Would come back!

Space City Birria I had this place on my "try" list for at least a year and I am so grateful I finally made it! I came here one night after a show and it was the perfect way to cap the night. I ordered the birria tacos duh!! And the accompaniments of the onions, cilantro and lime were perfect because you can add according to your preference. The staff was so friendly and checked in to see if I needed anything. I was so upset when I spilled my consume, but thankfully there was so much, I was still able to dip my tacos and enjoy them. I'll definitely be back again. I see they have a groupon deal for a taco flight, so I may have to take advantage of that. I also love that they are mindful of the impacts to their community!! I love the solidarity they are showing for others.

I loved coming here for Loteria night on thursday. On top of this place having the coolest atmosphere, delicious food, and one of a kind drinks, it is so much fun! We played several rounds of loteria. The host was awesome and very engaging. They even celebrate birthdays! The vibe is so cool here and honestly, it's one of the best places I've been to in a long time! Highly recommended. Their Birria has placed #1 in the city for two years!

Solid four. I ordered them via Uber Eats and they showed up quickly. They had a great deal buy two get two free I was with it. The food showed up quick and it was fresh. Every bite was pretty good. I dipped it in the cosome to give it more flavor. I really enjoyed the taste of the side soup. The salsa were pretty decent. Not my favorite salsa, but they weren't bad. They were just a little different. Overall is very happy with my experience. I'm willing to bet though it's better to eat these at the restaurant versus getting a few Uber eats. It's nothing like a fresh Mehl versus getting dropped off. All in all it was solid four stars. I would definitely go back. Also, they're open extremely late so that's pretty cool.

We are here and we are eating and drinking!!! Yesss!!! I heard great things about this place and the service??!! Yup great things! So decided to drive here... I called to ask about parking which we were told we could park at the garage above them for $5 and hour or street parking free after 6:30pm which we did!! Very nice to take the time to give us that info!! Great customer service, very welcoming and genuine I just saw on menu!!! Half off drinks 3-7pm so I am not sure if we did lol , we paid and didn't see We ordered the astronaut tepache, the galactic horchata and yummm it's delishiousss The horchata is strong so be ready to get tipsy if you don't eat beforehand lol and the tepache is just so refreshing and not overwhelming Now waiting for the galaxy trip which is 3 birria tacos (with or without cheese), consomé and the condiments!!! Can't wait and will for sure let you all know how it is!!! Ok the truth!!! They are good meat is tasty and perfectly cooked but a little overpriced for the size , the jalapeño toreado was bomb!! Cooked to perfection and spicy which is great!!!! If I was in the area I would definitely stop by.. The ambiance is very chill and background music is great! Not too loud but good enough to enjoy and not disturb a conversation

Went with two friends- we all ordered different dishes and all were super-impressed with the quality and presentation of our entrees. The tinga was my favorite! Birria tacos were goood! And the nachos were loaded pancho-style and were amazing! We all highly recommend! The owner and staff were kind and attentive to make sure that everyone was happy. I highly recommend this place!

Delicious Birria tacos! Not sure how I've gone this long without trying birria ramen, but I enjoyed that as well here. It's a smaller space, but it has a nice, casual vibe. Loved the queso and my Paloma too, and my friends enjoyed their street tacos that looked so good I almost got some myself.

Attended Loteria Night (Mexican Bingo) at Space City Birria last night and it was an absolute blast! The owner, Humberto is the one who hosted the event and gave away a bunch of fun prizes, from cute swag to a round of margaritas for the winner's table. There are usually 10 rounds and the winner of the last round walks away with $250! I ordered the Al Pastor tacos with a side of pineapple, avocados, and a cup of birria -- It was delicious! Love the vibe here and will definitely be back.

First time in Houston and was NOT disappointed. I'm a California girl through and through so finding good birria is always my favorite Not only is the food incredible, the staff is extremely friendly and attentive. Would come again :)

Awesome space themed atmosphere, great food, and wonderful drinks and service. We stopped here on a Wednesday afternoon just before a Houston Dynamo soccer game. It was a pleasant surprise and we will definitely be back for their delicious tacos and yummy picture worthy drinks! Highly recommend!

Good food for a late night craving! Visited around 1am ish on a Saturday night. Service was friendly and helpful, the cashier helped me pick between the many options. Place is cool and deck out in space themed decor. Got the chicken tostadas and the street corn. Tostadas were delicious but I wasn't very fond of the street corn. Had a weird taste that I couldn't put my finger on. My cousin had the birria tacos (not pictured) and she enjoyed them very much!

My friend and I were looking for a spot to grab some food after going to the movies. We came across this place and it did not disappoint. Probably the best birria tacos that I've had and I've been to quite a few birria places as I live in Vegas. Definitely worth checking out. I regret not buying one of the dad hats lol

For late late late night eats, Space City Birria absolutely hits the spot. It's exactly the kind of place you want when everything else is closed and you're craving something quick, satisfying, and no-frills. The drinks were great--solid options and just what you need to keep the night going. The food? It was okay for what it was. I'm not expecting gourmet here--it's street food, and it does its job just fine. Warm, cheesy, messy in the best way. If you're looking for fancy, this isn't it. But if you're out late and need something to soak up the night, this place is perfect.

Love this spot. Come here often for their Burria Ramen and Taco special. Perfect cold day treat. Flavor is consistent and service is great. It appears to be locally owned. Chill ambiance, only a few tables. Perfect lunch spot!

This restaurant was the first stop of our Downtown Houston food tour (Secret Food Tours) It's such a Cool Vibe spot! The photo doesn't do the tacos justice of how DELICIOUS THESE ARE! The meat was so tender & flavorful, the tortillas were fresh & the consomme was rich & flavorful. Our food came out piping hot( A+) and so good! The staff are frie& attentive! I can only imagine how fun & interesting the evening crowd will be. There are a list of events throughout the week. The decor is also cool & Photo friendly!

Easily FIVE STARS !!! While visiting Houston, found this spot and ate there 4 times! The noodles and tacos are amazing, the consomme sauce for dipping adds the perfect amount of extra flavor. The jalapeño salsa is super hot and satisfying. The staff were perfect, answered questions and offered suggestions. The bonus is Happy Hour drinks. Definitely check it out.

They have taco Tuesday for only $2, but you need to order at least 5 which is enough to eat for me but may not enough for others. Food is good, staffs are friendly . It's a small restaurant.

The service was great . A worker at the restaurant came around multiple times to check on us. The food I ordered was the space city ramen with quesadillas birria. It had all the flavors to make you want more. Will return .

My cousin and I came here for tacos and drinks on a Saturday afternoon. Immediately we were greeted by enthusiastic staff members that helped us order the best menu options. The bar tender recommended the Pina Candy cocktail. We also ordered the Birria tacos and the shrimp quesadillas. Both came out within 10 minutes. We sat there for a while and the waiter was attentive and friendly. We ordered a second round of drinks and kept the conversation going for about 2 hours. No one bothered us. Overall, we had a positive experiences. The parking situation was pretty simple. However, it is street parking only on a busy downtown street.

Review is for a catering order. Service was on time for an online order which is very convenient. Place is on the smaller side but good enough for small patrons. Ordered 2 trays of the birria tacos. 25 chicken and 25 tinga tacos. One order of rice and one order of beans. As per the party of 20 partaking in the order. No one liked the chicken mini tacos. Complaints on it not looking appetizing to tasting like boiled unseasoned chicken. The tinga tacos were "okay" as per the group. Beans and rice are a massive order all of which are again okay. The Birria tacos of course were the stars of the show. Other complains were no serving utensils. That is on me I didn't even think to ask because of a rushed timeframe. And no chips offered. Overall it's okay spot. Little pricey for a catered meal for lunch but overall okay.

The staff were extremely nice but the food was disappointing. The tacos lacked flavor and there was barely any meat and cheese in it. My first time walking away hungry from a Mexican food place because typically the portions are large. I'm disappointed.

Big things comes on small packages. This place may be small but it's full of flavor and fun vibes. The service from the the bartenders and owner was beyond amazing. When I tell you we felt like family there, we did. They made us feel right at home and I couldn't help but want to come back. The drinks we had was out of this world . I tasted the galaxy in my drink and my husband drink was Paloma fun.

The food is awesome. Have to try the Rocket Ramen with the birria tacos. The Loteria on Thursdays is amazing! Fun, great prizes, great entertainment. Highly recommended. If you've never been, get there.

When I went to Houston there was this restaurant called Space City Birria and it was walking distance from my hotel. Its space themed decorations were super cute and fun. The staff is extremely nice and made great suggestions regarding food/drinks. They have a small and simple menu but with a lot of variety. They also have alcoholic drinks. We ordered quesabirria, elote, tostadas de tinga, street tacos, and a quesadilla. Every food item was delicious and tasted like authentic Mexican food and the portions were generous. All of the drinks tasted just as good as the food and brought us back later on for more. You have to try the Out of This World cocktail, not only is it delicious but it's such a fun experience. Anytime I'm in Houston I will always stop at Space City Birria.

I had such a great experience here. It's a tiny place but the food is flavorful and the drinks are even better. The waiter was so nice and funny. I stumbled across this place while I was exploring Houston. I would definitely go back! Get the combo plate and get the margarita !!

The food was quite good. Didn't have super high expectations headed in but the menu was pleasing. I had the biria ramen and the chicken nachos. Both pleasing. service was good ambiance was solid. Not too loud at all. For a quick bite to eat for lunch I was pleased.

My friend and I were headed to The Houston Symphony but running late so we stopped here because it was right outside of the garage parking. It is located at the corner and screams come inside. The gentleman at the counter was knowledgeable of both the food and drinks along with having such a positive attitude. The place is super cute and bigger than you would think from the outside. I of course ordered two birria tacos and my friend ordered street tacos. I loved my Mexican candy drink it wasn't to sweet and the perfect amount of alcohol that would make you order one more. We both enjoyed our tacos along with the full experience. With birria it is all about the cup of juice or whatever it is and by far this was one of my favorites in the city. I am not sure the next time I will be back downtown, but when I am I will stop again.

Located in the north side of downtown Houston. Not sure how the parking situation is if you don't work downtown but I'm guessing it'll be paid street or parking lot parking unfortunately. The interior has a few tables for dine in and a larger central bar area. We tried a decent portion of their menu family style to get a good sample of everything they have to offer. You order and pay at the counter/bar and sit at a table. Service was friendly and it took about 10-15 minutes for the food to be ready. Nachos 2/5. These were pretty lazy in preparation and the taste wasn't much better. Street tacos 4/5. Flavor was good but the tacos were definitely the tiny street style and there's no way 5 will fill you up. The Al pastor flavor was the redeeming factor for this dish. Quesabirria 3/5. Have had much better tasting and aesthetically pleasing versions elsewhere in Houston for the same/ lower price point. This isn't bad for downtown but I wouldn't drive for it. Birria ramen 3/5. The appeal is understood but from a flavor perspective, I prefer their street tacos even on a cold day. Torta 2.5/5. This was honestly a torta that was very lacking in fillings (meat and otherwise). The bread was slightly stale but just not a very satisfying or filling dish, which is what a torta should be. Overall, we were a bit disappointed with the food quality for such a seemingly highly rated spot. I'd say better taco options are available in or near downtown. The upside is that this is an alternative option for lunch for downtowners.

I don't typically take time for reviews, but this place deserves it. I'm Mexican and when my family comes to town, we come here for the Birria Ramen Combo that comes with 2 quesabirria tacos. Phenomenal flavors in the consome! I won't stop coming back!

I enjoyed their steak fajita quesadillas (to go). The amount of cheese and steak is well proportioned. It is cheesy! I would like a little more heat in their salsas. They are open until 3 am on weekends. On Thursdays they play Lotería (latin bingo) where they call out the names on if the pictures. There are a few different bingo combinations to win and you yell out Lotería! Or Buena! It's $10 to play bingo and there is a $250 winning prize! Parking is not super easy downtown. After 6pm, street parking is free (if you can find one). Otherwise there is a lot right near the restaurant. The atmosphere is fun and the staff are awesome!

Tacos and cocktails are ok - they could use more spice and effort. The space is SMALL and free parking is difficult to find. Thursday night is Loteria night. You have to arrive at least an hour early to fit in that night and pray there's no emergency or fire because they'll pack people in blocking the exits and doors.

The nachos, soup, and rice were bomb! However, the elote was too salty and creamy--I couldn't even finish it :(Other than that, Space City Birria is a hole-in-the-wall that serves bussin food that is out of this world.

This was my first experience here and what I can say is that the food was absolutely delicious. I order the birria tacos and my husband ordered the street tacos and they were quite filling and flavorful. The meat was nice and tender and both the taco and consume had layers of flavor. I love that they carried spicy salsas and hot sauces which is a must for us! In addition to the great food , our service was great . Our food came out hot and pretty fast considering it was late at night . I recommend this restaurant specially if you are looking for more authentic Mexican food. Yum..
