As soon as I entered the store, the security guard fixed his eyes on my shopping bag and watched me closely. It felt as if he was waiting for me to steal something, mirroring my every move. Not wanting to be misunderstood, I kept my hands in my jacket pockets and only looked around with my eyes for the items I wanted. When I asked two female staff members, who were chatting away, about a product, they simply said it wasn’t available and showed little interest in helping. Having lived in this area for 20 years, I have rarely visited this shop, as I usually buy from elsewhere, and I have never really had a reason to come here. But after such an unpleasant experience, I will not be returning. Reading other reviews, it seems many customers have had experiences similar to mine. A thoroughly disappointing shop — not recommended.

I went in today looking for the perfect red lipstick and was warmly greeted by the lovely Serena. She was so kind and patient, spending a full 30 minutes with me and carefully walking me through different options at various price points. As someone who usually feels a bit intimidated trying new products inside a store, she made me feel completely comfortable and cared for. Her gentle approach and genuine warmth made the experience truly special. I couldn’t have asked for better help.

I had a terrible experience at this store. While testing a foundation with my own sponge, a staff member took me aside and accused me of stealing. She searched my bag even though I kept explaining I had nothing. As a foreigner in England, with a language barrier, the situation was very stressful and humiliating. When she realized the sponge was mine and I hadn’t taken anything, she simply said it was fine and told me to leave, as if nothing had happened. Very poor customer service. Of course I didn’t buy anything and I will never come back.

** warning it's long ** I had avoided this branch despite it being local after seeing reviews (when checking opening times), and so purchased gifts online. However on the 26th (yesterday) I had a skin camouflage 'emergency' and wasn't up to being belittled, judged or followed - so went to the Hans Crescent branch where I was warmly greeted by a blonde lady and a gentleman. I could not find the product so asked the nearest associate who just shrugged before commencing a 'love-in' with her reflection in the mirror beside me (short with dark hair).. the store had only just opened and an unseen manager called a staff meeting, and so all associates huddled like penguin chicks at the rear leaving me alone like an unwelcome predator, looking in vain for a product listed as 'in stock' but without even a sample to show that it ever had been. And so, I pulled-up my plus size pants and headed back towards the Duke of York branch, and braced myself. Upon entering the security guard smiled, and I didn't feel 'watched' despite the many free associates on the shop floor. Kadna (an employee) approached and I explained my predicament and she was only too happy to help - the product was not in stock (despite the website saying so - and I know it must be difficult the day after Christmas, but still it seems it never was stocked at Hans Place).. I digress, forgive me. Kadna offered advice on the product and its suitability for intended use, the appropriate shade and much more - even walking me through alternatives and advising each brand/products properties. However, nothing suitable was in stock - but I still purchased something based on Kadna patiently perservering in her assistance, and shall take her advice regarding its application. I would not hesitate to go back to be served and assisted by her, she knows her brands, can suggest suitability and other options and has the eye of an artist. Kadna (in the event I have misremembered her name) is an elegant young lady with a French accent, I have the impression she is also a new member of the team. I'd say she is Audrey Hepburn reincarnated and wearing a hijab, but I wouldn't want to insult her with comparison to another... besides I predict even greater things for Kadna. Space NK look after this remarkable petite ambassador and you'll earn customer loyalty and who knows - possibly a renewed reputation at this branch. ** sorry, I did say it was long..

Such wonderful customer service from the lovely lady with black glasses and red lipstick, and the one wearing the long hijab with the French accent! It’s so rare these days to meet people who are genuinely kind and give such thoughtful advice. Thank you both for your warmth and professionalism!! I’ll definitely be coming back!

I absolutely love the brand but today’s experience did not leave a great impression. The lady at the door looked bored and unbothered to greet customers. I looked at her when walking in, smiled and said “hello”. She didn’t even bother to look at me let alone greet me back. I picked up the item I came to get and was just walking around looking at other stuff and from the corner of my eye I could see the security guard always somewhere around me looking what I was picking up and just following me around. Honestly planning on avoiding the Chelsea branch. Better go to Battersea Power station one. The staff there are always friendly and helpful

I wanted to leave a review to thank Suleqa who just helped me with some Victoria Beckham Beauty products. I love the range, but was needing some advice about which colours to choose and Suleqa was super friendly, professional, and patient. Thank you Suleqa!

What lovely service from Vere! I popped in for a shade match in skin tints and not only is she knowledgeable but so very patient to try quite a few products until we found the absolute match. Nothing was too much trouble. Highly recommend!

OK, I admit it, I am a beauty product whore. If there was a support group for this, I would be a regular member. And this lovely apothecary carries a little bit of everything from beauty products, to make up, to scented room candles, all from specialty, boutique brands. Many beauty items that hit the UK can usually be found here first. With brands such as ReVive facial line, Rodial boby creams, Diptyque candles, and Poppy Lipsticks are all here. I always go in, -just to browse- and come out with something to make me feel good. And with no calories involved!

I love the wide range of amazing products! Such a bad experience with the staff though..
