Google
I may be a bit biased since my artwork has been featured at SPACE recently, but I love the look, feel, atmosphere of this gallery, the wall of windows and minimalist interior is really chic. As for exhibiting with them as an artist, the experience was great with their professional efficiency.

Sadly this place was closed while back when I was visiting Pittsburgh, so I all I saw from the outside was renovations and constructions happening inside through the glass. We didn't see any notice or news online about this place being closed for renovation at that time. A shame. I'd like to have seen what displays the had ...

Super interesting! Nice informative desk person. Very cool exhibit. Highly recommend

Google
This place was very interesting. The exhibits were we're definitely intrigeing and unique. Not quite what I was expecting. Not all of the pieces we're working/on when we walked through. There was a very interesting machine that would pick up randomly scattered pieces of rice and line them all up in a row, not quite sure the purpose of it but I was neat.

Super cool space! I went to see the Marx at 200 show just recently. Wonderfully curated, lots of interactive and multimedia works. I also love that the gallery is always free!

Google
Very interesting event! We went pretty early to avoid the mess and it was very pleasant. many curious shows. It's a little hard to find a map of the event there unless you got it somewhere else and the map is necessary because most of the shows are hidden

Google
The gallery space is a nice open industrial look, and the exhibit they have up now "taking up space" has a nice selection of local artist with installations, photos, surreal paintings, and sculptures.

Yelp
The gallery was really cool and the person working there was kind and welcoming. We were amazed it was free. The artwork was phenomenal.

Yelp
Space always has a sampling of rotating artists. Always a great time. Always great exhibits.

Yelp
A remarkable gallery located in the heart of the Cultural District. The admission is free, and the exhibits are thought provoking, and change on a regular basis. This is the largest of the Cultural Trust's galleries, and it's easiest to get to, it's highly visible and located on the first floor. Although a popular destination on the gallery tours, it's worth going back to see the exhibits when it's not so crowded. Fridays and Saturdays they have extended hours, so it's easy to combine a trip with a live performance and/or dinner.

Yelp
This is a nice part of the cultural district because they always seem to have different, thought provoking exhibits and events. I like that it's free admission and open during weekdays as I often like to walk through on lunch break to check out the latest installations. Really a lot of fun to come here and learn about the artists and their work while also conversing with other patrons on their views of the pieces.

Yelp
My latest visit to Space was during the downtown gallery crawl. I love this gallery. It is large and open with one main room and one smaller inclosed room that tends to have pieces with videos. This gallery always has great exhibits. Always a must stop on the cultural trust's gallery crawl.

Yelp
One of the best art galleries in Pittsburgh! Associated with the wood street gallery, space shows contemporary art - often very experimental art. Their shows are never boring and a must see especially during the gallery crawl when it is open late. It is super easy to find and a big space too- They show photography, sculpture, works on paper, video (check the special video room in the back!) depending on the exhibition.

Yelp
I went here for the second time during an Art Crawl. They had free beer. They had small tables set up with crafty clothes, plates and some prints like a flea market. Nothing really artsy or inspiring that I hoped to see.

Yelp
I really like Space, because it makes art very accessible and convenient for everyone. The gallery is free, changes every month or two, and is located right off of a busy downtown street. It's a great place to pop in for a few minutes, whether you're walking by or waiting for the bus. I don't always understand the art or necessary like it, but there have been gems. I really like the current exhibit - Check & Balances. It has what looks like a bed made of nails, but some of the nail heads are what look like Hershey's kisses (it smells like them). It's just fun to see the odd things people come up with sometimes!

Yelp
Space is just that a space but it's what fills this Space that makes it special. Its a large room that hosts some interesting art work. My favorite is a piece of installation art. It's tree limbs that are in the shape of Guns. Very interesting. The exhibits change regularly and if you like art this is a place to check out. I could see Space being a great place to host an event. This was my fist time so I can't speak to other exhibits but I will be back.

Yelp
I feel so fortunate to be employed and working downtown. Hell, I feel very fortunate to be employed! But working in town is awesome. There's a plethora of dining options, it's so convenient to stick around after work for a concert or a play and there's so much free music and art in this city. As for galleries, Space is my favorite. The exhibits, which change about every two months, usually lean a little on the avant-garde side of the scale but the art is always tasteful and can be thought provoking. I'm amazed more people in this city don't take advantage of all the free culture available to them. I personally love it!

Yelp
Yet Another cool gallery in the heart of downtown pittsburgh. SPACE - like the previous review mentioned is a large single floor gallery. Unlike the wood street gallery - SPACE usually features variety of art pieces including traditional art, paintings, photography and some unconventional art projects.

Yelp
This totally could be a cool space - it really could be. I have wandered through this gallery several times when I am in town visiting with family. It is just so accessible; free, street level, visible, convenient hours, ect. So it is a total a shame that the artwork almost never impresses. It seems to have one big group show after another of local artists (just a guess, no offense Pittsburgh) with a flashy title and a lot of videos. But the art and curatorship reek of low expectations and zero ambition. The Cultural Trust better step up their game if they want to continue identifying as the 'Cultural District.' In short, Space Gallery is a place for squandered potential.

Yelp
Yay, first review! SPACE is an awesome smallish (one floor, one large room) gallery downtown. It hosts a variety of different works every few months; I've seen installation art, photography, paintings... and during one of the city's quarterly Gallery Crawls, a live band even. Admission is FREE all the time!

Yelp
Always a great place to stop in on a gallery crawl downtown in the summer. They always have a bunch of creative, large, innovative pieces and what I would even call installations. A great "space" for the community and city.
