Delightful and imaginative food- we tried a little of everything on the menu. The veggie wurst is delicious and has great texture, the dumplings are homey and filling. I adored the fish and chips as well. The space is comfortable and cozy, I will absolutely be back!

Google
Eclectic, unique, and absolutely delightful Eastern European spot in the heart of Adams Morgan with solid vegan food and a really special vibe. I visited sPACYcLOUd during their month-long Mushroom Experience event in September, which meant I had the opportunity to sample a few of their limited-time creations! I had their mushroom barley soup, which was, admittedly, an odd choice for a super hot September afternoon, but still absolutely delicious and comforting. It felt like a hug in a bowl, and I really hope that the dish sticks around (or comes back) as the weather gets colder. The friend I visited with opted for their potato pirozhki with mushrooms, which were perfectly crispy on the outside, with a wonderfully soft, comforting interior and amazingly flavorful filling. I do think that the price is a little steep for the amount of food that you get -- you honestly might need to order 2-3 dishes per person if you want to have a fully satisfying meal. The pirozhki, for example, were $12 for just two, which certainly isn't an outrageous price point, but definitely does add up pretty quickly. Even so, the food was incredible, and the fact that it was vegan was shocking -- after all, "vegan friendly" is one of the last things that comes to mind when I think of Eastern European cuisine. It's awesome that sPACYcLOUd was able to provide a space for vegans and vegetarians (and, of course, meat eaters as well :) ) an opportunity to try out a cuisine that is generally too meat-heavy to ever be a viable option, and they add to the experience with their super unique decor and vibe. The restaurant is basically a skate shop, with spray paint and skateboards lining the walls, dim lighting and grungy furniture, and punk rock playing in the background. It, admittedly, doesn't quite fit my vibe, but it was still really fun to experience, but I can see why it would appeal to other people. Plus, there's always the option to sit outside and enjoy the wonderful weather if you're not into the grungy vibes and are just visiting for the delightful vegetarian / vegan food. All in all, highly recommend sPACYcLOUd for its unique atmosphere and fantastic plant-based cooking,

Google
Great food, lovely cocktails, and a good beer selection. Oh, and the music! I picked up a few new tracks to listen to while having dinner on the patio. In addition, the staff were amazing.

Incredible vibe. Eclectic and fun. Lots of cool art displayed by local artists and designers. Owned by two women who make you feel like family. The food is vegan inspired with some alternative options for carnivores too. The restaurant is focused on sustainability, empowerment and wellness within the community.

I took some of my friends here, it was a great place to get dinner and hang out. We were in the restaurant area but there was a downstairs bar/lounge area you can go to as well. Lots of cool art everywhere, I would say even worth checking out even if you don't get food here. But for the food, I thoufht it was really amazing. It's really great to be able to have an opportunity to try russian/ukrainian food that's traditionally is not vegan/vegetarian. My favorite was the stuffed cabbage and of course the pelmeni (dumplings) but everything we got was good. My friends liked the fish and chips and peasant potatoes the best. One note about the fish and chips - I've had a lot of vegan nuggets but these were the best I've ever had. They were freshly made and crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. They actually tasted exactly like Mcdonald's chicken nuggets, I couldn't believe it was vegan. The only downside is that it's a bit expensive probably bc it's located right at Adam's Morgan and finding parking was tough. I would come again (but maybe not on a friday or saturday night if I'm driving )

Google
This restaurant has really great food, friendly staff, and fun vibes. The plates are mostly small, although sandwiches and fries are larger portions. Definitely enough to share! I just wish that they had more of the menu available, because they have some interesting eastern European foods that are not always easy to find! I also recommend sitting outside.

Google
We were looking for a cool sushi or Asian Fusion place and this spot showed up on Google. I guess restaurants can pay to have good reviews now. Don’t believe it. You will be charged 20% tip. You order on your phone. The waiter brought water and didn’t even acknowledge us. Then we finally get the food randomly delivered with zero salutation. The most mediocre food I’ve had in a while. Mediocre food, TERRIBLE TO ZERO service that you will pay for no matter what. $150 later, I’m going for ice cream.

Google
Well the cook was out both days we tried to visit. The owner was super sweet but she kept making excuses as to why the cook was out. Overall the vibe was great! We had the kava tea which was relaxing and really calming. A place for skaters, misfits, and anyone else who considers themselves an outsider. Definetly my kind of spot.

Yelp
I love vegan restaurants (one of my all time favorite restaurants is Apteka in Pittsburgh... a must visit!) and was excited to try this cool space in DC. The interior is super cool and feels more like a place to hang than a restaurant--in the best way. The food was quite expensive and not quite up to par. My BLT was harmed by an insufficient amount of vegan bacon, a stale bun, and very few potatoes on the side. The yucca fries were good but bland. The peasant potatoes are good but no better than diner potatoes. The service was not particularly prompt, which added to the lackluster atmosphere. Vegan restaurants are great, but this one left me wanting more.

Krissy L.

Yelp
Here is my issue with this place, the food is overpriced and depending on what you order, it's too salty/oily. Granted, I have had some amazing dishes from this place and honestly, that's why I keep coming back. The food is good. The flavor is there and I absolutely LOVE their house-made sour cream. It's super creamy and not as sour as traditional sour cream which is why I love it so much but can the chef add less salt? It's better to undersalt than to oversalt. Give the customer the option to add more salt to their meal. The fried potatoes were salty which is unfortunate because I couldn't enjoy them. The bread cubes that come with the soup, extremely oily and salty. I couldn't even eat them. So if the manager/owner/chef sees this, please I beg, lower the salt on those items or give the customer the option to have the potatoes unsalted.

Morgan S.

Yelp
I've been here twice now and I think this is a solid 3 stars. The peasant potatoes, dumplings, and burgers are good. The rice pilaf is definitely lacking. All rice with 4 small mushroom pieces and even less fake meat.

Yelp
When you think of Eastern European food, you don't exactly think vegan friendly, but that's what sPACYcLOUd is. The restaurant serves various types of fried root vegetable appetizers and two types of dumplings, among other things. The Trotzky fries (made of yucca root) came wrapped in a cone of faux newsprint with Cyrillic writing and were delicious, even without the garlic sauce. The vegan "beef" pelmeni were delicious. And the potato pirozchki, fried potato balls with sauteed mushrooms inside, were delicious, but then potatoes and mushrooms are two of my favorite things. For those with more basic tastes, they do have Beyond Burgers and brats, as well as a vegan "fish" sandwich, but when I go again, I'm going for the dishes you can't find easily. I do wish they had nonalcoholic drink options, although I did enjoy my cider "mimosa." Also be warned that the Cuban coffee comes with dairy milk, and I didn't see a way to veganize it when I ordered on the Toast app (which is how you order your food). They should add that option. I remember the restaurant was not always vegan, although it was always vegetarian. It's also a bit expensive. I also wasn't happy about sitting outside on a mildly rainy day, and I'm not a fan of elevated bar seats, but I went with it. If you're in Adams Morgan and looking for something different, this is the place.

Yelp
Spacy Tea & Cocktails Lounge is a classy and cozy Eastern European lounge that uniquely crafted cocktails and a vegan fare. Shout outs to Kendrick and Kevin for good service. I liked how the atmosphere that gave off 80s and 90s vibes, how the aroma of burnt incense, and how we were seated by the fireplace on a cold February night. Among the three cocktails (e.g., Vytis Strudel, Belarus Fruit-tini, and La Femme Nikita) I tried, I enjoyed the first two more than the last one. Our party didn't come here just to drink, we also shared Pelmeni and Peasant Potatoes. The Pelmeni consisted of a plate of steamed Russian traditional dumplings served with a dollup of sour cream and dill. We liked how the Peasant Potatoes were crispy and was served with a garlic aioli. Another guest enjoyed the Beyond Meat Burger on a Pretzel Bun.

Yelp
Vibey spot in admo. Definitely get their vegiewurst, one of the best vegan meats I've had! The yuca is okay--a little dry so I would definitely get the peasant potatoes. Happy hour goes until 8 so get the $6 one for the same portion size as the normal dish. The potato mushroom soup was a little too rich for my friend but delicious nonetheless!

Yelp
I'm from Northern California and I really felt at home here. It gave me Berkeley, CA vibes all the way! Really nice bartenders and comfy chairs and couches. I had seen online that they had kava so I asked for that even though I didn't see it anywhere on the drinks list. The bartender gave us the powder to mix with pineapple juice and walked us through how to mix it. Super fun relaxing experience, I would love to come back here anytime I'm in the neighborhood.

Yelp
Pros: Good food, cool atmosphere, semi-friendly people Cons: Poor service, poor management, and incredibly pricey I have come here a number of times and have always really enjoyed the food. The last two times I went I was on my way home from a workout class very hungry and eager to eat. I asked how long it would take for my order and was told 15 minutes (both times). On both occasions, I waited for 45 minutes. Whatever, it's a small business and they do their best. Still frustrating. There are also a few little things I wouldn't generally dwell on but they've really added up. We were given no napkins, an incredibly sticky cup, and waited much longer than you really should have to at a pretty slow time, never given water, etc. I went today and was very excited. I called once they were open for about 30 minutes and no answer. No big deal, I thought I would just walk there. I did receive a call back to place my order which was nice. I specifically ordered an item because of the sauce that comes with it. So once I arrived I asked for an extra thing of sauce like I always do. They did not include it. I know mistakes happen but I paid $38 for my entree and a side of fries. For that price point, better attention to detail should be paid. I am disappointed because the sauce makes the meal. Really disappointed and turned off to this place now. I have really tried to give them the benefit of the doubt and have always raved about this underground restaurant that nobody seems to know about. I've recommended it to countless people at work, at get-togethers, etc. But unfortunately, I no longer will eat here.

Yelp
What an amazing place! The first thing we noticed is the owner talking to someone in such an open and interested manner. The place is delightfully eclectic and clearly filled with so much personal love and individuality and dreams. The music sets the vibe of a Progressive Eastern European venue. The food was unique and delicious. We especially loved the beet salad and the kielbasa to the point that we're still talking about the food weeks later.

Steve A.

Yelp
Cool place to eat, shop, and anything. It has a very casual atmosphere. Spacycloud is part restaurant, part store. All vegetarian food is on the menu. The staff is very welcoming. It seems to be a restaurant first of all. It also sells non food items. They're known for selling skateboards. It's more upscale than it looks. The kitchen staff is serious about cooking good food for you. It specializes in vegetarian cuisine. There's many vegetarian restaurants around here, so it's cool finding one. It also has lots of cocktails. They have a few food items on the happy hour menu. I like the black bean burger. It's $12 and comes with fries. It may have recently changed hours. It's open Tuesdays to Saturdays. They have a happy hour each day even Saturdays.

Andrew R.

Yelp
Great atmosphere and DELICIOUS FOOD! I am vegan and it has been such a great experience. The food and service are fantastic. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone in the area that might want a very natural food taste with an Eastern European twist.

Joshua G.

Yelp
I was hanging out in Adams Morgan last night and I decided to stop at Spacycloud for dinner and drinks. The vegan food was excellent and the atmosphere was quirky and fun. When I go out I like to find unique places to hang out and not boring corporate business. I really enjoyed it and I will definitely be coming back in the future.

MacKenzie G.

Yelp
I love this place! Yesterday was my second Time coming here and it did not disappoint. My friends and I were looking for a gluten-free and vegan spot to dine out that had a cute ambience and this fit that description perfectly. We got three different meals and shared between the three of us which worked very well based on their menu selection. I also tried the Kava drink which is very calming and made me feel great. The ambience of this place amplifies women and exemplifies women's empowerment. There is beautiful artwork all around with retro retro decorations. The service Is great as all the employees are kind and welcoming

Chris O.

Yelp
Very unique and personal location to the owner. It was very colorful and a relaxing aura. From upstairs to downstairs and to outside, there was a different vibe. This is a vegan location with a primary love for mushrooms. Take a look at the images and see for yourself. Outside of this, if you are driving, know that there is no parking on the main road and you might be at a distance.

Elizabeth R.

Yelp
This is a hidden gem in DC- unusual and authentic. They have fantastic vegan food and amazing teas and drinks. It's a quintessential Eastern European restaurant that is primarily vegan. Reminds me of the places I miss in east Berlin. I recommend the vegan sausages and fries, as well as the dumplings. They also have great live music and positive energy. Excellent spot!

Neile W.

Yelp
Fun atmosphere, good food. It's always fun to have a vegan restaurant, and this one, specializing in borscht and dumplings and mushroom dishes -- love it!

John P.

Yelp
After spending $55, my girlfriend and I had a bowl of what appeared to be 8 dumplings filled with tasteless boiled potatoes in a bowl of warm water, and 3 croquettes filled with more boiled potatoes without any distinct mushroom taste or either of the dishes. It was extremely disappointing, even infuriating after signing up for the following Eventbrite advertisement that we did NOT get to experience: MUSHROOM EXPERIENCE LANDING IN DC "Mushrooms dishes, Mushrooms artists, Mushroom djs, Mushrooms workshops, Mushrooms films, guest speakers, meetups, workshops, and much more! sPACYcLOUd, an eastern European vegan restaurant, is introducing a variety of mushroom dishes, educational events and community gatherings to learn about the fantastic fungi. The love and appreciation of mushrooms were cultivated in the early life of the founder of sPACYcLOUd."

Carly R.

Yelp
Hate to do this to a vegan restaurant, but the service was absolutely terrible. The staff only bring you your food. You order through Toast on your phone and have to get your own water from outside. The staff never brought us silverware. We were given fork skewer things with the appetizer and used that as silverware because it was hard to flag down staff. The staff may have been new because everyone was constantly checking the table number to figure out where the food was supposed to go. Food was good but not overwhelming. It was $66 for 2 entrees and one appetizer. No drinks. Honestly, left without feeling full. Additionally, the music was kind of loud. There was a table with the speaker directly next to the customer, and we saw 3 different parties pass on sitting at that table due to noise. The skate shop aspect of the restaurant was also disappointing. There wasn't much merchandise. I would not return to SpacyCloud. Food is not good enough for the price, especially when there is no waitstaff service.

Marc H.

Yelp
Vegan (and other!) Eaters Beware! Despite the fancy looking menu design and hipster looking venue, the food is not what a vegan, or any person with a normal palette, can describe as decent. Don't be fooled by the menu seeming to pay homage to authentic European cuisines- everything at the restaurant was store-bought. The bratwurst (13 dollars)  is made from beyond sausage, and isn't even cooked through. The fish and chips are made from gardein fish- and they charge a whopping 22 dollars for something I can buy at the local grocery store for 3 dollars. I'm not sure what the pierogi's brand is, but I bet my reputation that it is store-bought. It is also really bland (they just boil it in water and give you some sourcream). All in all, terrible food experience; enough to turn non-vegans/non-vegetarians off plant-based restaurants.  Nice staff though.

Ana A.

Yelp
Went here on a whim when I had my dog with me. It impressed! We had two beers, Trotsky fries and vareniki (pierogis) filled with potato and onion. As a Latina, I was really impressed with the Trotsky fries, they were basically fried yuca in bite sized pieces. The vareniki had a lot more pierogis than I was expecting. The beers are bigger than your standard American bottles too. We will come back again because a lot of the menu items were intriguing and we just didn't have an appetite big enough to try everything!

Brandielee J.

Yelp
I love this place so much. It feels like home. The owner is so sweet and very passionate about her lounge. The chef can cook and create new and fun foods. I came here and fell in love a much try is the Kava, coffee, food and just everything. The coffee is everything. They sell skateboards and put on many programs. If in DC pleas come here to just relax have a drink and can even play video games. Also there is an art gallery

Max B.

Yelp
Spacy is an oasis of renegade culture and creativity in DC. While this wonderful vegan lounge is known for its cocktail and Eastern European beer selection, it is just as much a spot to recharge creative juices and imbibe the artful atmosphere. I particularly love the plant-based takes on Eastern European classic dishes like bratwurst, vareniki/dumplings, and stuffed cabbage. And being from California, I crave but rarely see spaces in DC that step outside of the ordinary. Spacy does that boldly, festively, and with upside-down originality--there truly is no other place like this in the city.

Yiran H.

Yelp
The dumplings were really bland and everything were store bought. What a rip-off..... If you're in DC and you're vegan, try Lapis, try VegZ, try Zaytina, try Das Ethiopian, try Laos in town (they are also all cheaper too!) . These restaurants are not fully vegan but they put so much heart and effort in their vegan dishes. Spaceycloud just buys frozen food from the grocery and throws them in the fryer, and then charge you 5 times the original price.

Lauren G.

Yelp
Yes, yes, and Yes! Glad to have found a new Filipino spot it in Dc. Spacycould is super chill but classy at the same time. Don't let the skateboards fool you. Our host for the evening was also one of the rockstar co-owners--Kyla Hill. I loved her relaxed and calm demeanor. She and her staff made the experience earn an extra star all on their own. Speaking of staff, I've never, ever, witnessed such a focused and respectable kitchen. The chef didn't bark orders at his crew. He meticulously guided them with a firmness that was an art on its own. For starters, Kyla literally glided to our table when we arrived, and delivered our foot on a skateboard too. It tickled me but I loved every second. Babe ordered a FrEsH coconut. Fresh. He had pork bbq, I tried the port sisig. I'm a fan of offal so I had to try it. No lumpia for me today, but it's on the menu and our host said it was a best seller. Wish I could've taken a pic of a neighboring couples' halo halo. Looked like they piled clouds of ice in a tall glass serving dish and added some wonderful things to it. They also have ube rolls for dessert. My sisig was delicious, wonderfully spiced, but not too spicy, heavy on the pork, and maybe next on the snout, didn't see many pieces of liver :( Was topped with a sprinkling of fried pork fat which gave it a nice crunch. The dish was served sizzling hot topped with a raw egg. You mix up the dish to cook the egg!!! I tasted lemongrass I think, & a bit of thai chilies. The dish didn't come with rice so I ordered a side of it. That came topped with fried garlic. The bbq had nicely glazed pork belly with rice. Portion was a little on the small size. If you want to ease into Filipino food, try this. (Note: Price point may be considered high-ish for the amount of food you get, for some. Wish rice was served with every meal.) Keep it wavy, y'all!

Charlie M.

Yelp
Atmosphere would get a 5/5 and the food was good too. It's an all vegan menu, and each item we ordered was good. The vegan fish tasted just like you were eating deep fried fish. I ordered the Beyond burger, which was okay. Beyond burgers can be a cop out for many vegan establishments who don't want to try making a different type of vegan burger.

Jamila A.

Yelp
The food was super tasty and the outdoor seating was a great spot to enjoy people watching. I had the veggiewurst and trotsky fries and my friend had the vareniki. We will definitely be back to try more tasty vegetarian/vegan food

Mahin Z.

Yelp
The vegan food here is pretty good! The only problem is that there's barely any food per portion size, and it can be a bit pricey.

Jade T.

Yelp
I don't venture into DC very often so of course was in search of a good vegan food. Debating between a few options, I settled on Spacycloud and don't regret it. The food was amazing and the outdoor patio was small and welcoming. It also doesn't hurt that they have a skate shop and also had live music the night I was there. You can tell the staff members are all very close and they want you to feel comfortable directly upon arrival. Make sure to get the "fish and chips". I will be coming back to this cozy spot every time I visit DC!

Mirella C.

Yelp
Went here a couple months back and was not a fan. The place looked like a teenager's basement. No real place to sit and it smelled. If you are looking to for a place to vape/smoke or skateboard indoors, this is the place.

Emily L.

Yelp
In the heart of Adams Morgan it also has my heart. It's a safe place for women as the motto with vegetarian AND Vegan options on a growing menu, my favorite thing to eat there are the veg i tacos! They have taco Tuesday:) Also when I need to medicate from CBD this is my go to spot! With that and Kava Kava tea and chill vibes. It's my favorite place to hang out at the bar, or chill in the restaurant area upstairs and work from my laptop with the most beautiful artwork all over the place it's amazinggggg okay I'm done I could go on forever, LOVE YOU TATI! Love you spacyloungeDC!

Joshua J.

Yelp
Nice place to stop by for a drink and snack. The people are super nice and the environment is fun.

Nicole S.

Yelp
The folks were super nice and I liked the artsy vibe, however, the food was not a good value. I paid $24 for fish and chips which consisted of 2 small pieces of fried tofu and a side of potatoes (both inexpensive ingredients).

Madhu R.

Yelp
What a cool space! Groovy coffee shop, restaurant, bar, art space. Owners are super nice and welcoming, music is groovy. Definitely an awesome new spot to hang in DC. Lots of soul and love.

Kitty R.

Yelp
This place is awesome!!! They've got awesome vegan food, coffee, a full bar (complete with fresh fruit cocktails that are SO GOOD) and even serve kava? The space itself is super friendly, laid back, and full of art. The first time I visited I met the owner Tati, and learned that she is passionate about welcoming everyone and providing a safe place for women. They also host all kinds of cool events; Tati let me throw a release party for my new album downstairs at Spacycloud and it was a blast!! I am a queer girl musician (kind of a weirdo tbh) and I'm super protective of my fans (mostly younger LGBTQ+)...The entire Spacycloud staff made us feel so welcome and encouraged us to make ourselves at home. Anyway, it's definitely worth coming here for an event or even just to hang out and get a drink whenever. It's always chill, my favorite place in Adams Morgan. Oh, and my favorite veggie burger. Seriously!!

A S.

Yelp
Very impressed by the art and the food at this restaurant. Can't wait to go back. These staff works very hard to provide great service.

Angela W.

Yelp
Absolutely amazing food and vibes. We sat outdoors and got each of the happy hour combos (veggiewurst, Trotsky fries, and peasant potatoes, each with a beer) plus the Vareniki (dumplings). They were all delicious, though the veggiewurst was probably my favorite--great flavors on a super soft brioche bun. Staff were awesome. Highly recommend next time you're in AdMo!

Heba A.

Yelp
Hands down my new favorite vegan restaurant. My server was exceptional + the food was remarkable. (really great quality food here!) wish they had more food choices but loved what they had as well! Other than more options I wouldn't change a thing about this restaurant. Will be back again! AND SOON!

Sharon E.

Yelp
Came in search of good vegan food with my meat eating husband. Both of us were very happy with our meal choices. He loves a good hamburger and was blown away with how much he liked their impossible burger! In his words, "one of the best burgers i've ever eaten." The dumplings were amazing, a great comfort food. Fried yucca is perfection. Crispy on the outside and creamy on the inside. I also really liked the wurst. Buns are so good for both the burger and wurst. We will definitely be going back!!

Yelp
SUPER cute interior and super friendly staff. Good vegetarian options with large portions as well. We always have a good time here :)

Yelp
Nice place! The food and drink menu is eclectic! Eastern European dishes and drinks mixed with some Mexican food. We really enjoyed out meal and our drinks. The service was good too. The decor could be cleaned up a bit but I guess that's part of the charm.

Yelp
Great service, unique drink and menu selection. Met the owner when we ate there, she is the sweetest person ever. Def support this place.

Yelp
One of the coolest vibes of anywhere else in DC. They sell skateboards, clothing, food, and espresso. But I'd come back for the chill atmosphere any day. Very laid back and friendly staff as well.

Yelp
A delightful and cozy space with interesting art, very friendly staff, and tasty vegan food (and good cocktails)! We had the tacos and black bean burger, and highly recommend. A fairly limited menu but they make it with love!

Yelp
Extremely welcoming and laid back environment. Love that everything is vegan! My omnivore friends enjoyed it too I recommend the spiked kombucha and the yucca fries. My group was pretty sizable, so sometimes we would have to remind the servers about an order, but they were very attentive. Went on a Wednesday for open mic - cozy vibe. I want to go back and try the kava.

Yelp
Very bad service. It took a very long time to be severed. The food had hair in it. They made a mistake on my bill.

Yelp
One of a kind weird place with yummy vegan food, interesting drinks, fun staff, and an always friendly crowd. It's one of the first places we gravitated toward when we decided to move to DC both because the food is good and also because it's a good thing to have such a weird and undefinable place in the world so I'd like to do my part to keep it alive.

Yelp
Had the Georgian and Russian food for dinner. So good! The fried dough thing and the veggie dog and cauliflower were amazing. Try it!
