"Most Pacific Northwest hoteliers play it safe, perhaps to let the spectacular landscapes and seascapes have the last word. Sparkling Hill Resort, in British Columbia’s Okanagan Valley, is another story — it’s an impressive piece of contemporary architecture, and and an unapologetically luxe one at that. It’s a Swarovski project — hence the abundance of crystals — but it’s focused more on wellness than on glamour." - Mark Fedeli

Overall it is a beautiful place and was a quite relaxing stay however there are a few things that fell short of the luxury experience they are selling. Room: we were on the bottom floor next to the walking path where anyone walking by could (and did) stare into our room. Perhaps a privacy film on the windows would be nice. Food: The breakfast was excellent the first day but the second day, although hot, was bland. The fruit and pastries put out on the table were dried out. We went for desserts in the lounge one evening and we met with bar staff who gave the impression we were bothering him when we only asked for cake (no drinks), and the cake was dry. The day we checked out we went to get a coffee to go from the Cafe downstairs. It was $6 for a to go cup of Cherry Hill drip coffee, seems pretty steep to me for average coffee. Service: I would say the staff overall seemed like they were just going through the motions. With the exception of the server for our first breakfast, one of the spa staff and cleaning staff who greeted us it just seemed as though everyone was flat and really did not want to be there. Certainly, not many went out of their way to be welcoming and friendly. The saunas they ran out of fresh towels and water cups. The ceiling above the hot tub has streams of dust/dirt out from the vent. So while we did have a nice getaway it didn't live up to the exceptional experience we had heard we should expect.

Had a wonderful stay. Room was clean, service was great and facilities is well kept. We stayed 2 nights and the only thing we did not like was the food. Breakfast is complimentary but has limited menu options. I tried 5 different things on the menu during our stay and all of them were disappointing. We had dinner at Peak (main restaurant) and found it to be expensive for the quality of food served which lacked creativity and flavor. Not sure there is an actual chef or just line cooks making the food. The new German restaurant in the next building is a much better option. Please do something about the food at Peak restaurant since dining options at the resort is limited. I would book again for a longer stay but because of the limited restaurant options I am looking elsewhere for our next vacation.

First time guests at Sparkling Hills Resort. Beautiful place however the drive was tricky. Sparkling Hill does there best to notify guests with signage for directions to the resort. Although the signage is hard to see just be careful with the windy roads to the resort and the weather. We missed a few turn offs to the resort. Although beautiful area. The check-in process was slow but steady. The room we received was a issue. When it's quiet in the room we heard every conversation in the hallway especially when the room is right off the elevator. Not a big issue but something to consider if you want total relaxation therapy. The spa area was amazing. Very unique saunas and steam areas with different temperatures. Was shocked to find out the cold room was not cold but with so many people opening the door it was considered. However a cold plunge pool area would be a great addition. Overall a great experience, although the price doesn't outweigh the experience of visiting the resort. If your like us we saved for this experience and the money spent was worth it. We won't return again but the one-time experience is what we needed to start of 2025.

Stayed with my now fiancé and our stay was absolutely amazing! The front desk staff were all extremely kind and willing to answer any questions we had. The complimentary valet parking was amazing, the two valets that helped us were extremely kind one helped us with our luggage while the other explained a little about the resort we can't remember the one valets name but he was very tall.. we want to say his name was mark? and the other valet was Will, whose sister actually gave me a spa treatment! Maya was extremely kind and professional! I had a fig and guava scrub with her and it was absolutely amazing, I would honestly come back just to get a treatment with her again. The only complaint I would have is that they don't have water bottles in the room but have fountains in the spa and lobby. Otherwise my stay was perfect and we will be back!

To be fair, I have been here 6 times now and most of my disappointments are because of the changes they have made. They have taken away so many things. There used to be shampoo and conditioner in the pool bathrooms, they used to have a variety of teas in the tea room, they used to have towels in the pool area, they used to give bread before dinner, they used to have beautiful white linen table cloths in the restaurant, they used to have bottled water in the room. All of that is gone now. It’s disappointing when so much has been taken away but the price is still so high. The cleaning staff are SUPER polite and kind. Dinner was super expensive and definitely not worth the price. Breakfast is included but we tried 6 of the different options and nothing was that great. Every single piece of toast was so hard that it was difficult to even try to cut it with a knife. Peakfine used to be delicious but now it is awful. Mediocre food, at best. Gernis Farmhouse has great food! We enjoyed our dinner there! The resort is beautiful and relaxing but the cost for the treatments, the quality of the food and the cost for the actual stay is too much. Sadly as we sat having our breakfast (which neither of us finished because it just tasted salty) we were searching online for other resorts to try.

Our stay at Sparkling Hill was overall relaxing, but it did start with a few issues during check-in and with our room. Fortunately, the staff and supervisor addressed everything quickly, and from that point on, we had a lovely and peaceful experience. Breakfast was included and while it wasn’t anything extraordinary, it was decent. The restaurant staff were efficient and polite, which added to a pleasant dining experience. The spa, particularly the sauna and steam rooms, was a highlight. It was very relaxing, though I do wish it opened earlier – ideally at the same time as the other facilities at 7 am. One thing I’d recommend is rethinking the bring-your-own-bottle policy for water. Offering reusable bottles or having a more practical alternative to paper cups would be appreciated. Additionally, the pool and hot tub areas could use more hooks or hangers. Towels and bathrobes scattered along the loungers made the space feel a bit disorganized. We will be back.

As always, it was a lovely stay. The rooms, spa, and services are always top-notch. Staff are sweet, attentive, and really on the ball. We were there for my mothers birthday and it was her first visit. She was very impressed - the lady who checked us in wished her a happy birthday and housekeeping left her a little note and a couple of chocolates on her bed. Those little details are appreciated. This place is truly a little gem :). The only suggestion I have: Breakfast reservations - lots of grumbling guests were waiting to be seated on our first morning (two groups mentioned it had been over half an hour despite having reservations). Perhaps extend the breakfast window to 11 and remove reservations? Just an idea - it seemed to be worst during the last hour between 9-10am. We didn't mind waiting (our wait was only 25 min and there is a complimentary coffee bar you can utilize in the meantime), but there were some vocally frustrated folks around us, and unfortunately I could see it was affecting the hostess.

We stayed at Sparkling Hill a little while ago and were looking forward to it. It's in such a beautiful location and the resort is very stunning and imposing upon entry. When we checked in, we were informed that two of the steam/saunas were out of service. We were not offered a price deduction, despite the spa services not being available. We were not notified of this ahead of time. We came to the resort for the spa, so this was disappointing. We got into our room (supposed to be Lakeview) and were surprised when we saw that our window faced directly into a grassy hill and had no view of the lake at all. I wouldn't say avoid this place altogether, but definitely verify your itinerary and triple check that all amenities are working and which room you're in before coming. They are often full and won't accommodate you as most luxury resorts would.

Yelp
Very relaxing:) If you want to disconnect from your typical day to day routine this is the place. One thing I have to mention is make sure you know how this place operates. Ask someone to give you a tour and how to use the shower features built in at the spa. Theres rainforest, fresh, ect settings on it. They also offer massages, facials, fine dining and free breakfast. Plan way ahead and take advantage of the entire place, that way it will be worth it.

Yelp
The hotel is nice, staff was overall friendly (except one janitor in particular), but there's definitely room for improvement. The rooms themselves look like they were built in the 90s, dated design even though the exterior of the hotel is modern and it's only been around for 13 years. 2010 is not that long ago. Still, very clean and gorgeous views! But our room never got made up during our 2-night stay. Not sure why. The saunas are definitely the reason to come, there's plenty to do, unfortunately they don't open until 2pm, which is odd since the pool is open from 7am, but how long are you going to sit in a pool? The steam rooms in particular are wonderful, but I've heard there's been changes to the salt steam that people miss. Breakfast goes until 10am, and saunas don't open until 2pm, so there's really 4 hours to kill depending on when you eat. The pools are nice and all but that's a lot of extra time in between. Free EV charging, valet is hit or miss so I just parked my car by the chargers for the 3 days and only plugged in for the ride home. Breakfast was fine, it's included so not much you can complain about but goodness gracious THE FOOD FOR LUNCH/DINNER IS AWFUL. COFFEE IW TERRIBLE. And terribly overpriced. I don't understand why, there's plenty of food options in Vernon and even a few on Predator Ridge - eat there instead for lunch or dinner. Our 2 Caesar salads and side of calamari ordered to the room came to $60 CAD. No joke. I think they know the food sucks but "hey, where else you gonna go? Are you going to leave the resort?" Yes, yes I will. We'll probably come back since I'd really like to give this place another shot, and for the price it's worth it if you don't mind the drive depending on where you're coming from. I just really hope they extend sauna hours earlier and have better food.

Yelp
Definitely worth a visit! Book a full body massage for sure to get a good relaxing experience. The pools and spa amenities were great. Lovely to have tea, flavored water and fruit available. Would have loved to see the coffee available all day too. Included breakfasts were good each morning. The views were amazing. Loved the bathtub. Was very confused as to why there was not a coffee machine in the room, not even a kettle. I've never stayed anywhere that did not provided coffee in the room. Asking for towels at the spa area was awkward, the staff always seemed annoyed, I understand people are using a lot of towels going from room to room, but that should be a given when you go from pool to shower to steam to room, etc, so maybe just leave them out for ppl to take.

Yelp
sparkling hill resort's restaurant was unlike anything we had ever experienced. We dined there both nights and we received excellent service and tried numerous delicious dishes. The Peach Bellini Martini was so good...I had to control myself from ordering 3 more The Smoked Salmon & Beets was my least favourite dish...it looked pretty but it didn't sit well with my taste buds The Beef Tenderloin was so juicy and tender...it was by far the best steak we had ever had! It's hard to cook the perfect Duck Breast and PeakFine Restaurant nailed it! It was cooked to perfection and it had the perfect crispy fat layer!

Sam S.

Yelp
Spent a fantastic weekend here and couldn't fault a thing. The complimentary breakfast was surprisingly delicious and a generous portion. I highly recommend the eggs Benedict! The staff, valet, check in, Spa attendants and restaurant employees were incredibly helpful and nothing was too much trouble. We will be back!

Pam C.

Yelp
I loved Sparkling Hill Resort and Spa! They had Swarovski crystals all over the resort and in every room! We bought a hedgehog Swarovski figurine as a souvenir because they're so cute and we ate lots of Purdy's chocolate hedgehog on the way to Vernon from Vancouver. I loved the steams and saunas! I personally prefer steams more than saunas, so I would definitely recommend the Rose steam room and the Salt steam room! It smelled so good in there and so relaxing! I really enjoyed the Java coffee shop and other amenities. The only thing was that there were a few errors on the admin/staff roles. I think they are just too busy to accommodate guests and trying to answer many phone calls at the same time. Overall, loved my stay!

Amy T.

Yelp
There is honestly nothing I had to complain about while staying at Sparkling Hill. The valet parking was easy and stress-free. The lobby and areas within the hotel had Swarovski crystals hanging, which added to the name/brand of the hotel. I wanted to check in earlier, but I also understand that is not guaranteed because it's based on what's available and at least we were able to get in our room exactly on time. The room was beautiful and the view was even more so. Since Sparkling Hill is located high up on a hill, it was just breathtaking looking out the high windows while taking a bath. Unfortunately, due to the smog from the California and Portland fires, most of the view was foggy. We were also able to see part of the infinity pool, which was nice to gauge how busy the pool was at any given time. The infinity pool is salt water and the perfect temperature. I hate it when pools are too cold or too hot. I loved sitting in the hot tub inside and then slowly transitioning outside to the infinity pool overlooking Vernon. I didn't get a chance to swim in the indoor pool. Another huge plus to the hotel was that they encouraged walking around in your robe and slippers. It really added to the tranquil and relaxing experience. We ended up even going to the restaurant in our robe and slippers. The restaurant PeakFine was on the expensive side, but the food was delicious. I don't mind paying a premium if the food quality matches the pricing. The entire experience was and is something I'd like to repeat on a yearly basis to recharge from the daily stress of life.

Yelp
What a disappointing non-experience. Say non because I cancelled my 2 nights and dinner reservations. I wanted to spend a few days in a nice resort spa to reminisce about my late wife on the date of , what would have been, our 43 anniversary. The reservation was made, however it was impossible to get a hold of the spa to book some treatments. I called numerous times and left message's and received no call back. I even called the front desk and they said they would add me to the "quick response list", why would a different list be needed. Needless to say, I cancelled and booked at another resort in the Okanagan that actually looked after me. Don't booke this place if you expect to reserve spa treatments.

Tamara C.

Yelp
I never write bad reviews, EVER. However, I have been forced to share my experience with Sparkling Hill as a warning to others. I would give them NEGATIVE STARS if I could.... I tried booking a room online, but to no avail. After three months of online tries and no response, it took four days of power calling to get through to the front desk to make a reservation. The phone would ring tex times then hang up. Once I got through I asked if they were super busy since they were having a difficult time answering the phone. I was told they were actually slower than usual because of the fires and such. I requested a two bed queen room. They tried to set me up with their most expensive room. I requested something more economical. They decided that meant I should have a single king bed. Awkward because I'm sharing the room with my cousin. Either way, I decided to keep the room, since according to them there were no queens left. I figured something is better than nothing. Then, I tried to book appointments at their spa. I played their "game" and started booking spa appointments more than 8 weeks in advance. I called to ask the best way to book, and it was suggested I do it on line. I sent an email requesting particular appointments and waited. And waited, and waited. After two weeks, I reached out again to see if they received my email. And again, I waited. Finally, I called because we were getting close to 6 weeks out. Surprisingly (NOT), no one answered so I left a message. ELEVEN days later, someone called me back to let me know that of the 6 appointments I requested, only one was available. I was livid. I'm trying to book a girls' weekend and we can only get ONE APPOINTMENT!!! They told me the spa was fully booked. In a rage, I sent a strongly worded email back to the spa. Miraculously, the manager of the spa called me two days later to offer me another appointment, plus to additional massage appointments, which had "miraculously" opened up. I slept on it. Thought about my options. Talked to my friends and family about what I should do. As someone who lives in the Okanagan, I like to support local and have always wanted to try Sparkling Hill. Finally I talked to my cousin with whom I was going to spending time at Sparkling Hill, and asked her opinion on what to do. We both agreed that the service so far was completely unacceptable, so I called up to cancel our spa reservations, as well as our three night stay, FOUR WEEKS before our scheduled stay. The front desk asked why I was cancelling the stay, and I said that in all honesty, they service up to now had been atrocious, and that I didn't want to spend a ton of hard earned money at a place that doesn't seem to want me there. The clincher was when I was informed that I would be charged a $10 cancellation fee... I explained the difficulty I was having trying to even get a room, let alone book some spa treatments. I also said they should confer with the manager of the spa as she could corroborate my difficulties and frustrations with their establishment. I hadn't even stepped foot inside their establishment and they were making me pay!! I travel a lot for work and pleasure. It saddens me that the worst experience I got was from right here in my back yard. It is safe to say I will NEVER be booking at Sparkling Hill ever again.

Yelp
I love this place. It looks like a perfect place for couples to go on vacation, specially ladies will love this place since it's sparkly crystals on adrenaline! It's a little pricey so planning ahead is recommended. The environment, building, rooms, pools and all things at the spa are great. My favourite spots are: Rose steam Crystal steam Igloo Herbal sauna The massage packages that we got and enjoyed were: Empress Sissi Salt scrub The breakfast buffet was included in our package. The quality was very good and there were so many things for different tastes. At the bar/coffee shop, I had an old fashioned, which was pretty good. They also have a very nice view. The food was very good quality and I found the staff very polite and helpful. The whole experience is very relaxing. There are so many things to explore and experience here. I know based on my experience so far, I'll definitely come back here.

Yelp
After 3 nights at this resort, we are feeling very relaxed but in need of a GOOD MEAL! The hotel rooms were nice, the views were great, the spa experience was wonderful! However, food, food, food. We flew in which was our first mistake because no cabs come up here and there's no shuttle services, so we felt trapped. We ended up walking down to Predator Ridge which was a nice 15 min walk. Luckily, they have a shuttle back up to Sparkling! The food at Predator Range Lounge was better than all of the food options at Sparkling. I think it's ridiculous that Sparkling doesn't offer a shuttle down to Predator. 1) Peak Fine: if you're going to offer one main restaurant, change your menus daily on the weekends, at least!!! Offering the same menu for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, and room service is crazy. The room service is the same menu as Peak Fine so if you're looking for variety don't expect it. Sometimes people just want a light sandwich for lunch - not salmon or risotto. WAY overpriced. Bland food. Not worth it. 2) Barrique and Java: terrible customer service two times we went. First time, we waited 7 minutes for a drink. We were the only ones waiting at the bar while he was making someone else's drinks. Then some ladies came to settle up and decided they wanted one more drink and he helped them before us, even though we had been waiting 10 mins! So we left. Second time, waited again for about 7 mins for two hot chocolate. We were the only ones in line waiting while he made drinks for tables. When it was our turn he told us the frother was broken. Also, they only offer very few items. Mainly dessert. And then like chips and dip... and olives.. again, where are the sandwiches? Or light lunch options? No where to be found. Update: we went for a drink this morning, and the frother was magically working. Tips: Drive here if you come or rent a car2 nights max. Bring snacks with you. Eat out at predator or elsewhere.

Yelp
I wanted to go to this place so bad and went for my birthday and was not impressed. As a spa owner myself, don't get me going. The furniture in the rooms looked like commercial office furniture and the bed looked like an ikea bed. Very dull beige colouring throughout the place that maybe you could get away with in an Alpine area like Whistler if it was a ski lodge but did not suite the geographical area for a spa. The view was amazing and the food portions were decent at Peak restaurant but minimal selection and I almost threw up eating my fish egg omelette. The fish odour was so strong I almost vomited. I couldn't eat it. Ordered carrot honey ginger soup and we we both sent that back as well. Now don't get me going on the spa treatments. Cobwebs on the corners. I had a body wrap where she brushed me dry and barely with a bamboo brush that I felt like a horse getting brushed. She slaps some powdered honey milk powder she mixed with water and then o took a shower in a tiny plastic insert shower that is the kind in cheap basement suites of cookie cutter homes. The treatment was not good for either of us. I then decided to try something else and booked the crystal cratum massage and she poured hot coconut oil all over my head then rubbed my head for 30 min. Not a good job and zero wow factor on the spa treatments. The rose steam bath had a slimy floor and it smelled like roses and burned pee. The salt room was room temperature with no salt. You can't meditate in any of the rooms because it's so loud and you can hear everyone talking. I could hear so many people talking outside the spa door when I was getting my treatments and then she left me on the table naked as she opened the door and a bunch of people saw my naked body. The coffee shop has zero selection and slow service. Way better spas in Whistler. I have no clue why this is world renowned. Broken crystals everywhere and even the indoor pool area reminds me of a public pool. No calming music this place is way overrated for what you get

Yelp
This is long due to the SEVERAL issues ... Bottom line amazing property but complete missed execution on ALL fronts! Very disappointed Even before we got there.... I booked some spa services months in advance as well. About a week before arrival I started to receiving confirmation emails of spa treatments with different times that I originally booked, and cancelations of others. VERY CONFUSED!! I tried calling several times through the week as one treatment they changed, I wouldn't have even arrived in time for and the other one which was a couples massage wasn't even at the same time(how could that be a couples massage??). I finally did get a hold of someone after several calls, messages and voicemails. The lady that I was in contact was very nice, she was brand new and sounded like she was in over her head. She claimed that there were some "sick" calls and they were dealing with scheduling issues. I asked to speak to a manager and she stated that they were "too busy dealing with important things"... AMAZING! I finally received 1 treatment that would work and had to cancel the rest. On our day of arrival I received an email confirming the original treatment that THEY canceled on me..????? Upon arrival we get to the property from Vancouver (5.5 hrs) and there was NO valet NO bell hop or any type of greeting so I just parked right out front and checked in. We had to grab our own cart and bring in our bags. When I mentioned about the issues with the spa the hotel stated that there is NO communications from the spa to the hotel and I had to go into the spa and deal with it... Isn't this a spa retreat resort?? When I went into the spa to ask questions the girl stated that she was the only person there that knows what to do and there is no manager onsite. It was 3:30 on a Friday !! We looked for a drink and some food as our dinner reso was later. The "bar" they offer is a room downstairs and the bar snacks were VERY limited. Their fine dining restaurant felt like an airport lounge (albeit an amazing view when its not dark) and the food was very underwhelming and way overpriced. The menus and chairs were stained and old, and not a lot of wiggle room from the tasting menu. Tried to order some food from room service and the response was ... The kitchen staff has gone home and I'm really tired!!! WOW Bfast was well executed.. the pool was beautiful but not allowed any food or drinks (??) The rooms were very nice, starting to get a little dated, and needs some upkeep(lots of little things but nit picking things) no coffee or tea in rooms, some lights were out, but the view is amazing The spa was clean (a little loud) seemed like lots of room, but the sauna and steams were only open from 2-10 pm which was disappointing. Also for a "spa and health retreat" there were 0 activities/classes offered or even included for a fee (i.e. yoga, meditation, self healing, etc.) The German house (Gerni's Farmhouse) was amazing.. great staff including the bartender (Volodymyr) who was a standout ask for him by name he'll make your night!! I would recommend this place over there other dining Overall there needs to be a lot of work and training in customer service before I think about going back. The lack of the "happy hour" time for bar/cocktail service is shocking. The Spa is a total disaster!!! For the price they charge and what they market themselves as, in my mind they have completely dropped the ball in so many places. There doesn't seem to be any customer care, and just fallback on the property, which is no doubt gorgeous. Side note the owner just passed away (2021), and I am left wondering of there is something going on behind the scenes with al that. I hope they sort out the issues as I would love to come back one day, but until then I will pass and try the other beautiful spa retreats offered around BC. Dinner at there "fine" dining was way overpriced and very de

Yelp
Jordan Clarke was amazing and went above and beyond to help us for so welcome at this resort. My wife and I got engaged here seven years ago and we are now celebrating our seven year wedding anniversary, we have been coming here every year since, we have never had such friendly staff as Jordan. We highly recommend this resort and the lovely staff makes it all better!

Yelp
Having been a guest of Sparkling Hill Resort in Vernon, BC, since the very beginning, I have to say... Sparkling Hill has come into its own. Spent 5 nights at sparkling during Covid, and had some concerns prior to arriving as everyone does. The Management and Staff of Sparkling HIll have implemented a whole long list of covid protocols which are impressive and ooze confidence that they really know what they are doing. However, onto the really good things that Sparkling Hill offers, as one day Covid will hopefully be behind us. The dining experience has changed and frankly is AAA in ratings. You can tell the Chef knows what he is doing to be able to present such amazing gourmet meals, and the restaurant Managers know how to manage reservations to afford a great experience for the guests. The servers at both breakfast and dinner were always friendly, efficient and attentive. It was a true pleasure to dine at Sparkling HIll. Food is an important part of my travel experience, so very thrilled that they are now at the top end of AAA. I was not disappointed even for one day out of the five I spent at Sparkling HIll, rather I would say I was IMPRESSED and appreciative especially during these covid times that they can pull off such a dining and resort experience. The Spa is of course amazing, and even though the saunas were closed due to covid, the rest of the Spa was open and well managed, well staffed and a pleasure to hang out in. I had the luxury of a massage treatment early on in my stay with Chad, and WOW... I QUICKLY booked two more visits with him for my stay. Can't say anything more than excellent. The Spa reception is always friendly and eager to please, and work their magic to get you what you want if they can. However, do book early (preferably before your arrival) so you are not disappointed as they do get booked out almost all the time in my experience. Valet Parking - Quick, fast and the young men who jockey the cars are friendly, attentive and a pleasure to deal with. Please make sure you tip them, it is always nice to see young people with such energy and upbeat attitudes and they should be acknowledged. Housekeeping was on the ball, they understand the art of turning the rooms quickly and the rooms being 100% totally clean. Because of Covid there was not daily housekeeping, however anything you wanted or needed, appeared with a smile. Again a real kudos to management and to the housekeeping staff. The gift shop, well I will be honest and transparent, I go in there each visit to Sparkling Hill, to look for that special Swarovski gift that I need. I have never been disappointed and always come away with great gifts every time. The buyer for that boutique knows how to find the right changing products, and some are exclusive to them so you know you wont find them elsewhere. So make sure you visit them while you are there, even if you don't buy its worth looking at. The last piece is how friendly everyone is, always smiling, respectful and willing to help. It is obvious that the CEO Hans-Peter from Austria and his entire management staff pick good employees, and ensure that they understand european hospitality is with a smile and with the attitude of wanting to make the guest's stay a happy one. I hope you can tell that I am very impressed with Sparkling Hill and even more so because with the challenges of Covid they continue to be on top and show what they can do.

Yelp
Had an extremely pleasant stay here. We've been meaning to come here and finally have had the time to. We were very surprised at how well the staff are managing with all the new COVID-19 protocols. It definitely makes their jobs alot harder but they've been doing so well. The steam rooms were still closed but the rest of the facilities are open and well operated. Give this place a go if you haven't been, it is absolutely gorgeous here. And please be kind to the staff and have patience, it is hard to navigate under new protocols and they really are doing their best!

Yelp
My boyfriend and I came here for the long weekend, and I was very excited as I have heard good reviews. For anyone looking to visit, here are the pros and cons. Pros: -crystal decor in the room/resort -Infiniti pool is gorgeous -spa is well structured as well as the saunas. Cons: -for a wellness resort they really lack non-pork alternatives. Their complimentary breakfast was very underwhelming with not a lot of options -the crystal decor throughout the resort is cheap. Example: The crystals on the glass look like some kid glued it on -peak fine restaurant was not great, pricy for the quality of food (you should drive to Vernon or Kelowna for better food) -for an isolated location they don't have extensive amenities (had to go to predator ridge to buy snacks/drinks) -beds were not comfortable, pillows were cheap So yeahhhh, I wasn't super impressed and I don't think I would come back since there are better spa resorts in Canada, however, In the summer would be better as there are more activities (wineries, golf).

Deb L.

Yelp
Hotel room Pros: -View from hotel room was a beauty -bath and shower by the water -beds and duvet were very comfy -clean -service was nice enough -valet service Con: -some of the outlets charged super slowly - room service to deliver missing slippers for our spa night took more than 30 min - needs better lighting -spend less on Crystals everywhere and maybe more on the food offered (see my photos for some examples of where they include their crystals) -no lights along the road leading up to and down from the resort so if you wanted to leave at night to explore Vernon you may be deterred Complimentary continental breakfast: -oatmeal, a few cheap soft cheeses, fruits, eggs from a container, some carbs and desserts -very disappointed with the lack of selection especially for what I'm paying for a $400 a night hotel room Just for the room and the resort itself (not including Kurspa-rated separately) = 3/5 = I'd need incentive to ever come back. I wouldnt pay for myself to stay here again nor would I really recommend the hotel itself. It needs a lot in the way of improvements.

Yelp
If heaven were to exist in Canada, Sparkling Hill Resort would be the place! It was like discovering a little piece of heaven high above civilization, atop a secluded mountain top! Designed with the spirit and essence of Swarovski crystals, this palatial resort dances and sparkles both day and night with crystal bling seemingly in every corner! For example, guests are greeted under a magnificent, gorgeous and modern crystal chandelier. The desk management were superb and made the welcome feel personal and intimate. I arrived far later than expected due to a 7-hour flight delay (thanks to WestJet!), and it felt as if the team made sure that my accommodation needs were met. Unfortunately, I was assigned to a room (room 215) that I found to be less than extraordinary since it overlooked the parking lot! Similarly, there was a fabulous, window ledge bathtub that was meant to have a glorious view of the mountains, but similarly, it too had a view of the bustling parking lot where smokers also found sanctuary as it's a non-smoking hotel. I think that I even caught one nosy onlooker snapping a photo of my room with her cell phone! In my opinion, this room would be a voyeurs paradise, but not for me! On day two, I was graciously moved to a far more private and secluded room with an equally spectacular view of the mountains (room 231)! For the room prices that we paid and the promise of a 'Mountain View', this more private room more than met expectations! The restaurant food was delicious, particularly the inclusive buffet breakfast! The restaurant staff were extraordinary and went well beyond all expectations to ensure that we were well looked after. For example, upon arriving late in the evening due to flight delays, I found myself craving a nice, warm meal. I had heard from my travel companions that the chicken carbonara was out of this world, delicious! But, I arrived just minutes after the kitchen closed, late on the Sunday night. Therefore, the only food options were cheese platters and dessert! I begged and pleaded with staff team members, Nick and manager Wyatt, to please help me get a last, late order into the closed kitchen. They were both remarkable by sneaking in one last kitchen request for this weary traveler! The chicken fettuccine Carbonara is by far the best thing that I have ever eaten in Canada! Quite possibly, I would return to this resort just for this dish and the impeccable service! The coffee bar, turned wine cellar at night, was also a great haven! The staff, particularly Adam, were amazing! Daily happy hour from 4-7 is a treat! The window-side views are incredible. The abundance of gorgeous spas, meditation rooms, saunas, tea rooms, steam rooms, hot tubs and pools were out of this world, incredible! I loved the no electronics policy in the spa area, which really helped encourage silence and calm, which arguably you can't find anywhere else on this planet! I would seriously encourage everyone to stay at this palatial paradise, which undoubtedly will help bring peace and calm to our busy lives!

Yelp
Amazing. We were here in December as a pre-Christmas getaway and it did not disappoint. The rooms are spectacular - a lovely soaker tub for two, overlooking the mountains and lake. Absolutely stunning. The amenities included easily fill in your time without booking additional treatments, although we did book a massage. The infinity pool, even in the middle of winter was lovely. Again, the views from everywhere. I am hoping this becomes an annual pre-christmas event. It was amazing.

Yelp
Great spot for a relaxing getaway. Was here for a business meeting but would love to return one day with my wife for a relaxing spa weekend. Dinner menu offered limited but enough choices and very good. The views are impossible to beat. Five stars all around.

Yelp
stayed with my husband for a romantic weekend getaway and Sparkling Hills did not disappoint. The Room was beautiful, with a gorgeous view and a bathtub facing the window. We enjoyed an awesome charcuterie board when we arrived. The breakfast is no longer their a famous buffet, But I think I actually prefer the à la cart breakfast options anyhow, and we really enjoyed the pastries and coffee. The KurSpa Was a wonderful experience, from the saunas and showers to the spa treatment I had booked. The staff at all of the restaurants were exceptional. Can't wait to go back again.

Yelp
Came in late May this year with my partner and really enjoyed my time here. It is a spa resort so everything was created with the goal of relaxation (and maybe sexy times? There is a mirror in front/on top of the bed, and the shower/bath tub are in the open...). The rooms are smaller than the photos portray, but for two people it is sufficient. I stayed in a room with lake views. You can't beat having a glass of wine and taking a bath with an incredible view. It feels like the world is beneath you and all is calm; your stress just melts away. Note though, that the windows are not one-way, so people outside from the pool can look up and see you taking a bath... Barrique & Java is a coffee/cocktail lounge that serves small plates as well. Not my cup of tea for dinner because I love me a big meal. Peak Fine Restaurant serves buffet breakfast (free for hotel guests) and the selections were sufficient for me. We also had dinner here and it was overpriced in my opinion for adequate food. We only came here because we didn't want to leave the resort late at night (9 pm for dinner). The staff were courteous for the most part; the cleaning staff always greeted us, but some of the front desk staff were very curt and seemingly burnt out. I would definitely come back for special occasions. One star knocked off because the food could be better and some staff could be mindful of their attitude. Note about parking: there is free parking just before the main entrance. No need to valet your car. See my KurSpa review listed separately. (Also gave it 4 stars).

Yelp
Ok I'm not going to make this painfully long. I was not a huge fan of this place. It was ok but it's not the best spa experience I ever had. Clearly the fact that this hotel acts as a large spa, in terms of culture and environment serves a niche market, but it could be better. It's expensive, and I don't know if it's worth it. They have various reading rooms, tea rooms, and pools where people are expected to remain quiet so everyone has a relaxing soothing environment. First off, it's hard to do and not everyone follows these rules. Do these rooms make it better than any other hotel? No, it's just nuance to sell an experience. The spa itself is not the most beautiful and best spa I've ever been too. It is in no way better than Spa Utopia (if you're from BC). It's missing all the bells and whistles and luxury you expect. After each service they don't even offer you juice let alone wine! Just a messily glass of lemon water in a paper cup. Womp womp! The rest of the hotel is beautiful because it's adorned with Swarofsky crystals...like everywhere, even chairs at the restaurant. Which let me add is not worth the money. Take a shuttle and eat at Predator Ridge! We even ordered pizza our second night. In all honesty, you're better of booking a nice hotel in Vancouver, setting up a few spa treatments at your hotel and lounging and swimming there. You need silence...stay in your room.

Yelp
a very modern and nice resort perched on top if a hill! on the way up, one can see mice log cabins and other residential homes around the area, as well as a view of a huge and beautiful golf course. our room was very spacious with a crystal display and crystal like adornments which might up. very unique bathroom designs and beds were very comfty. bathtub had immaculate views of the valley and wine country...priceless in my opinion! also came with 2 bottles of free water. staff was very friendly and answered all our questions. infinity pool was huge and heated properly, so were the hot tubs and indoor pool. there is even a foot pool/bath...lol! pool opens at 7am and closes at 10am sharp! place even has a cozy library! bfast is complimentary and features a wide range of meats, vegs, oats, breads, spreads, etc... now why 4 stars from me? - bec the resort failed to mention beforehand that they were an adults oriented resort. kids are welcomed to stay and sleep - but NOT use the pools! explanation was bec the pools are located in the spa area...or to be more specific - outside the spa area!! we were informed only during check-in which came as a shock as our kids were looking forward to using the pools. another reason is location....to get to the beach/lake area...you gotta drive 20mins...and go down the hill...so its location nit that great! near pool area has a lounge/tea room with complimentary fruits , herbal teas, and flavoured water. very good place to just put your feet up and relax! cheers!

Yelp
This was our second time at this resort and once again we were thrilled with our visit. It is a health based resort with a chill vibe. The restaurant serves a variety of cuisine, which is delicious. The spa is excellent offering a variety of services. Don't miss a signature facial with Cherie!! The steam and saunas are so wonderful and relaxing. This is a place where you turn off your cell phones, take in the beauty and enjoy the phenomenal services. You won't be sorry.

Yelp
This resort is quite overrated. We had higher expectations for the price of the stay. PROS: - The hotel area and rooms were very clean - The views are amazing - The hotel is very quiet and thus creates a very relaxing environment - service at the cafe was good - The room service food is excellent. It comes from the same kitchen as PeakFine. Definitely recommend ordering room service instead of eating at the restaurant CONS: - The check in experience was TERRIBLE. We had arrived early at 115pm and they had informed us that the room would not be available until 4pm. Which was fine. We just went down to Predator Ridge and hung out around there. I called the hotel at 3pm (it took 4 try's until someone picked up the phone) and they said it would be ready in 15 minutes. We returned back to the hotel and was informed that our room was not ready. Even though someone had given us a time. We waited until 4pm and went back a THIRD time and this time we were informed that it would not be ready for our check in time. We spoke with the manager and asked that if we could go to the pool in the meantime to wait for our rooms. This was also not possible because our bathrobes are in the dryer! And this is the reason why our room isn't ready. I REPEAT. OUR ROOM WAS NOT READY BECAUSE OUR BATHROBES ARE IN THE DRYER. Can't make this stuff up! The manager was quite empathetic and offered us free drinks at the cafe. - The pools were nice. But not the best in my opinion for the price that were paying. - We were trying to order room service and our call got cut off. Then our telephone broke. Went down to the front desk and they gave us the direct number so we could call them if we needed anything. The number she gave us was a FAX NUMBER. - Went down to the front desk and asked for 2 extra pillows. They didn't bring it to us. 2 hours later... we tried calling down to the front desk (this time it took 2 try's to reach them). - Due to COVID, the staff could not help you with your luggage. However, they can valet your car. Which did not make sense. There was an engineer that also came into our room as well. It seems like Covid was the answer to everything that didn't make sense. - The valet staff in the front told us to move our car quickly so there would be room for other guests to check in. There were about 10+ spots that were vacant and we knew that we couldn't park there for a long period of time. - It seems like the staff were over delegating and dictating. Which was very unnecessary. Overall, would I stay here again?? Probably not. There are many high end resorts that I've stayed at that have better service and better amenities. Ooo

Yelp
We arrived at the resort at around 4 p.m.and our room was not available. We were asked to wait on the property until a room became available. We sat in the lobby and was not give any updates from the staff. We had to go to the front desk every 30 minutes to get an update. A little over two hours later, we were finally able to get into our rooms. Our room was spacious and we had an additional alcove in the room to lounge on a chaise. The room had sparkling crystals everywhere which was a little much. The shower area was a bit exposed to the room and does not offer complete privacy. Even though we did not have a view of the lake, we did have a gorgeous view of the valley which had rolling fog which made us feel like we were in the Scottish highlands. Due to weather, we did not spend time outside on the hiking trail and due to time constraints (we were there for a wedding) we did not have time to utilize the spa. I'm sure we missed out on the largest selling point of the resort. Based on what others in the wedding party told us, the spa was nice, but treatments were extremely pricey even for exclusive European spa resorts. I doubt we will be back for another stay, but it was nice that the resort provide complimentary bottles of water in the car for our drive back to Vancouver.

Yelp
Thanks for Jerico and Rizza for taking us to such a great resort for vacation. My family had fun there and we loved the place so I decided to write a review while my memory is still fresh. Hotel Booking: http://www.sparklinghill.com/ Jerico booked the hotel about a month ago since early booking could get 10% discount if I remember correctly. He double checked with front desk while we arrived the resort, so we were able to capture the best discounted rate. Preparation: The resort has really good steams & saunas and pools. You should bring as many swimming wears as you can because you may want to spend all your time there. Plan: It was about 4.5 hours driving from White Rock to Vernon, so we left home at 9:30 in the morning. We were like experiencing spring, summer, fall and winter within the 4.5 hours starting from sunny weather at white Rock, drizzling at Hope, raining at Merritt and snowing at Kelowna before arriving at Vernon, lol. I believe winter ties would be safe for your journey. Our first stop was at HOME restaurant in hope. It was about an hour driving from White Rock. I will share dining experience in a separated review. The check-in time is 4pm in the afternoon and check-out is at 11am. The bedroom is clean and big as it can fit in two queen beds and facing mountain that gives us more privacy. The resort is surrounded by mountains and lakes. There are always camera points for you to take pictures. The bar opens until midnight and has happy hour from 3 to 6. We had dinner in room the first day. I ordered Fresh Melon with Bauernschinken and Mixed Seafood Bowl. It was good but$10 was charged for delivery. Their staffs are all well trained, polite and very good-looking, lol. Traditional breakfast buffet is included. Nothing fancy but I liked their coffee. They have a café inside the resort and I had tuna salad sandwiches and chocolate croissants for lunch. Again, regular café food, nothing fancy. I made appointment for Fango Treatment for myself and my mom. If you want to do Spa with them, you'd better make appointment sooner than later as it is always fully booked. Fango is volcanic mud mixed with warm water into buttery form. It helps to detoxify your skin and allows your body to absorb the minerals from the mud. It's applied to from your upper back to lower back so you will need to take off all your clothes including panties. Then, your body will be wrapped for 20 minutes. The tempeture was just about right and made me fall asleep so quick. Towels will be provided after rinsing your back, so you don't need to bring your own. We were advised to drink lots of water after the Fango treatment so we decided to rest a bit at the Team Room where they served herbal tea. We spent most of our time at KurSpa Amenities include 7 Unique Steams & Saunas, Cold Sauna, Indoor Salt Water Pool, Outdoor Infinity Pool, Hot Pool, Kneipp Waterway, Serenity Room, Fitness Studio and Movement Studio. I didn't join the yoga class in movement studio since I've been doing Bikram Yoga, so I don't know their schedule. I didn't go fitness studio and cold sauna either. I was told cold sauna was appointment required. Kneipp Waterway is water-stepping between cold and hot waterways to help blood circulation. The cold waterway was so cold that made me scream but we had fun there. Indoor Salt Water Pool and Hot pool and Outdoor Infinity Pool opens from 7am to 10pm. The outdoor infinity pool is surrounded by breathtaking views of Lake Okanagan and Monashee Mountains. This is the best amenity in the resort I would say, lol. If I ever go Sparkling Hill again, I would spend all my time in the steams & saunas and pools. By the way, the steams & saunas opens from 4pm to 10pm. During the stay at Sparkling Hill, we also went Davison Orchard and Naked Pig for dinner but will share the experiences in separated reviews.

Yelp
I've been to the Scandinavia spa, Harrison Hotsprings and now Sparkling hills! If I have to compare the three, I would rank the resort higher than the other two. The rooms are beautiful! Crystals are decorated everywhere and the designs are so innovative. The sauna /steam rooms have many types and they have a scenic outdoor pool that is just so lovely! I do prefer if the temperature for the steam rooms to be higher. The service was prompt and I love how they provided us bath salts if we wanted to bathe in our tub!

Nancy F.

Yelp
Very close to giving a 4 but it gets a 3 from me for a few reasons. I did not find the staff overly friendly whatsoever. We go to the hotel for a spa treatment before check in time and the lady at the spa was a huge snob. It's not cheap to stay here...I thought the customer service would be insane and it was average at best. Pool was great, saunas were awesome. Room service was ok. The meat and cheese tray was good value and we brought our own wine. We went to the steak house at Predator Ridge golf course for dinner.

Yelp
I did not have the negative experiences as the other people. I was here two weeks ago. Here's the short end of it. 1. Check-in / Check-out was a breeze. Everyone was friendly and they moved through the line quickly. 2. PeakFine: Agree that sometimes the flavours left you aching for me (see my review) but it was still a solid and very nice meal with exceptional service. 3. Our Spa Service was very nice, also very clean, and everyone was friendly. 4. And here's why I'm giving it a five. The place was f&@^#Ing impeccably clean. | have never been in a cleaner pool, especially an outdoor pool that is prone to bugs and floaters. Our room was unbelievably spotless, even the baseboards wiped down. It felt worth what we paid per night. We did the introductory spa package (haven't been here? Look into this). Our room, two nights of dinner, two days of breakfast, 20% off spa services, access to all the spas and pools, and two nights of accommodations was only $710. Yes, we spent about 500 extra dollars while there on wine with dinner, a couples massage, and tips on all the aforementioned meals (you tip on the value of dinner, people, not what you pay for it!). So all in, it was about 600 bucks per person, per night, with all our food (and wine). Not bad when you put it into perspective and understand what you're getting with all that.

Yelp
This has long been one of my favourite places and as such I have gone several times. However, with this latest stay they seem to be noticeably cutting costs. The infinity pool is now cold, not warm (so we refrained from swimming and enjoying it- which we used to love doing), the hot tub is warm not hot, the -10 sauna seems less cold than it used to be, and even the breakfast buffet is not as extensive as it used to be. Food caliber was never top notch but seems worse than before, with prime rib cuts less than a centimetre thick (thin I should say). Prices are still high, and an afternoon snack in the cafe cost us $110. It appears that someone in management is trying to cut costs and that eventually catches up with a business.

Yelp
Review of Sparkling Hill Resort; disappointing, unprofessional and inadequate. Event: Parents anniversary. I personally booked and made hotel stay, dinning service and etc with Angie. Upon my parents arrival to the Resort my parents had to phone me as the front desk representative had no knowledge of the booking and could not even find the reservation. As this was a surprise for my parents - I personally made all stay arrangements and provided all my information for billing with strict instructions not to request credit card information from my parents but the front desk representative did. Also the front desk representative was snobbish to my parents and looked at my Mother then lowered her eyes giggling to herself several times. This alone made my parents feel uncomfortable and awkward. The planed dinner reservation & service failed miserably. First my parents were ask to wait past the dinner reservation time then the server and person in charge had no knowledge regarding the planned dinner service including the select wines. Again my parents contacted me while sitting at the dining table, then I had to speak with and explain the planned dinner service including pre-selected wines to the person in charge. It was also Mother's Day and Sparkling Hill Resort even failed to provide my Mother with the special Mother's Day package that was also to be included in the planned stay for my parents.

Yelp
Completely rude inconsiderate assholes on the phone. I called to book and come stay for four nights. I asked them if they are pet friendly. They said yes. Great! I book and give them all of my credit card information and after she takes my information then she asked me what breed my dog was. I told her it was a Boerboel and she never heard of it before so she googled it then told me I can't bring him because he's too scary looking and will scare the customers. Then I proceed to tell her he's a $50,000 professionally trained dog that does ALL of the stuff the Super Dogs do at the PNE, that he also works in prison ministry therefore he's highly trained in highly stressful situations and has a working vest and that I can also provide my ministry chaplain badges to prove it. Then she says he has to be under 60 lbs. I told her Pitbulls weigh under 60lbs and asked why they would allow untrained dogs that could jump all over furniture and ruin a room and allow untrained dogs but discriminate against mine. She wouldn't hear any of it! So she will let untrained pitbulls as long as they're under 60lbs but not my highly trained dog? So I asked to speak to the manager. I spoke to the manager and he too seemed to be just as closed minded and when I plead my case he said he'd look into it further and call me back and he didn't even extend the courtesy of a phone call back to me which is very unprofessional and rude. So basically if you have a yappy Tasmanian devil of s dog that will piss and shit all over the room and jump all over the furniture even if it's a bully breed like a bull dog, Pitbull etc you can bring your dog there but if you're a professional like myself that has a professionally trained dog that's highly skilled in stressful situations and knows how to behave and won't mess up the room, you can't have it there if it's over 100lbs and looks scary. I wonder if they discriminate against people that way too. Sorry you can't stay here because you look like a terrorist! What next! Big thumbs down and no decency to even call me back. Oops bet you didn't think you were talking to an Elite Yelper on the phone did you?

Yelp
For a hotel that seeks to present itself as a Spa destination, the Spa at Sparkling Hill is very disappointing for 2 reasons: 1) there are a handful of decent steam and dry saunas but patently lacking any proper cold plunge pool or other cold options allowing for the cycle of hot-cold-relax, as is fundamental to a proper Spa experience. The peppermint room at 10 degrees Celsius is a joke. 2) moreover, the Spa steam showers and saunas are closed from 11 AM until 4 PM!?! This is unacceptable. The whole reason we stayed at this hotel was to use the Spa during the full day between our 2 nights stay, but alas and unbelievably the saunas are closed during the day. It's absurd that a hotel that seeks to define itself as a Spa destination closes the main attraction for 5 hours in the middle of the day. Be advised that as of 2019, the hotel will not allow children under 16 on premises, because they seek to to focus exclusively on being a Spa destination... but for the reasons expressed above, this is not a good choice for anyone seeking a real spa experience.

Yelp
PeakFine: 2.5 out of 5, Stunning view. The food was visually amazing however the flavors left you aching for more. Muted notes and odd pairings. PeakFine's menu failed to capture the beauty of its surrounding. #lostintranslation #neededsalt

Yelp
Love Love Love Love Love this amazing resort! It's so nice and relaxing, staff is very welcome and friendly (except breakfast hostesses), facilities are great. We've been here for 4 days and don't want to leave! I would recommend this fabulous place to everyone!

Yelp
Simple, elegant and stunning location high above the lake. Arrived on a Sunday to meet my daughter and have a Happy Birthday weekend. We upgraded to lake view and with perfect weather it was a great decision. Food is decent. Drinks are pricey. The steam/sauna rooms are wonderful. Outdoor infinity pool is fantastic. Now for the bad...my husband had a welcome charcuterie placed in our room. The cheese was dried out and sweaty ( we checked in an hour early) so it was put out too soon. $84! Spa I wanted to love it. I was looking so forward it! Franco is meh. But, I had the best spa practitioner for my lymphatic drain (10/10), crystal cranium and relaxing feet. Everything was going perfectly. My treatment room shares a wall with the gym which is a terrible design. Some guests arrived and socialized at party level outside the massage area and then proceeded to blare rap music for 25 min. I'm tolerant but finally said something and my practitioner was mortified at the disruption. I kept thinking someone will shut this down. It it took us finishing my service so my girl could finally get a staff member to quieten the gym group. I expected the spa to find me and offer compensation because the girl doing my service did alert spa reception. I had services following but nope. Final service was reflexology which was a glorified foot rub. More training required. Drinking in the pool and steam sauna is out in the open. Pool noodles being brought to the pool. I'm a seasoned spa guest and this was unacceptable. Etiquette is not commonly know by few guests who get away with terrible behaviour. They need more attendants to enforce the rules. I flew in, rented a car for a refreshing zen get away. I ended up at Club Med Vernon. UPDATE: I checked out the night prior and went through our list of issues with the night manager. She heard me and offered compensation that was reasonable. She saved us from leaving with a bad experience overall. Stars updated.

Yelp
One of the front desk ladies (Cathy or Jacky?) extremely unfriendly!!!! RUINED our experience!!!! Otherwise huge spa, incredible view from every room. Nice infinity pool. Resort restaurant is very nice too with helpful, attentive staff!

Yelp
VERY DISAPPOINTED Not impressed with the service from this 5 star resort that we have stayed at a few times in the past. Our reservations were for Friday October 30, 2020. I received the confirmation email the day before confirming our stay for the following day. Check in time was 4pm and after driving the 4 hours from home we arrived around 430pm Friday afternoon. We arrived to find the parking lot empty and the doors closed. We assumed the electronic doors were just not working as there was no sign on the door indicating anything otherwise. We were finally greeted 15min later by who was assumed to be the front desk clerk. She greeted us by saying "Oh did nobody tell you?" You can imagine our confusion. She proceed to tell us that the resort had been closed due to a positive Covid case. (Which later after some investigation I found out had been the day before). She went on to tell us that they had "tried" to call everyone. We received NO phone call, No email, NOTHING. When we asked if there were alternate arrangements made she said that we could "try" the hotel at Predator Ridge but she "doubted" that there would be any room left. How nice. There was no other talk of compensation, no help in making alternate arrangements, nothing. We obviously proceeded to leave and as we did I received an email confirming my cancelation at the resort. There had been lots of time for a simple email anytime throughout the day. We understand the reason for the closure but do not agree with the way we were treated that day. I have reached out to the resort with our dissatisfaction and have received ZERO response. VERY DISAPPOINTED!

Yelp
This hotel and spa is 10\10. We enjoy the pools and spas. They're super clean as well. The only thing is the restaurant here is questionable. The complimentary breakfast is actually quite good....but anything else from the restaurant is terrible. We had multiple friends tell us the food wasn't food. Our first night we ordered dinner for room service and it was awful! Really too bad for having such a bad reputation for being such a nice place to stay. We ended up going out for the rest of our dinners.

Yelp
My husband and I are celebrating our 10th wedding anniversary and his 40th birthday and couldn't leave our kids for many nights so we opted to spend 2 nights at the sparkling hill resort. I just came across this on trip advisor as I was looking for something to do in BC. Anyways I booked it for 2 nights aug 21-23 using the Alberta promo code for better rates. We got the lake view master bedroom on floor 1. Our view was of the lake and mountains. We could see a bit of the infinity pool as well. The rooms are very beautiful. Great for couples. Absolutely no privacy . And beautiful views you get to enjoy sitting in the bathtub. The valet parking is very convenient to have. Initially when we got there, the valet guy just told us to go check in and after checking he came back and took our keys. When we were ready to leave we would call for our car from our room and upon going down our car would be waiting for us. I know I'm stating the most obvious but I wanted to bc I read some reviews where ppl had less then satisfactory experiences. We never went to their peak restaurant but did go to barruque & java and loved it. Day 1 Landed around noon. Picked up rental (very handy to have). Stopped over atgrey monk to pick up some snacks and drinks for our room for snacking purposes. We checked in closer to 3, their check in time was 4. Our first spa service was scheduled for 4:30pm. So we hung around, unpacked and checked out the infinity pool area. All very cool. The pool area was very busy and all chairs had towels on them. A lill after we got two chairs and off I went for my glacier mud wrap service. It was very good. I highly recommend it. Hubby had a power pedicure. We met back around the pool at 6. Hung out in the pool till 7 then went in our rooms to get ready for dinner reservations for 9. We opted to go eat out at Vernon at a restaurant intermezzo restaurant. Great experience. Although driving back in total darkness was a little nerve wrecking. Day 2 Woke up around 7am and were just lasting around. It was awesome. Headed for breakfast around 8am. Great choices available including gluten free as well... after that headed back to our rooms to change and today we started off our day at the saunas and steam rooms. Our spa services didn't start till 10 and 1:45. I liked the rose steam room and the herbal sauna. Their crystal steam room had a smell and it was making me nauseous bc I kept on smelling roasted chicken. Weird I know, but I couldn't help it. I tried the igloo one as well and I liked it as long as I went in it after something warm. There was this 5 button showers and each button had a diff theme. So thunder gives you ice cold shower with thunder. There was a fresh one which is misty. The tropical one gives you shower, with orange/citrus smell and birds chirping. I was rotating for about an 1 and then spend 30 min in the tea room relaxing with their flavored waters and teas before my spa service. Today I got a customized facial and a honey detox. Hubby is getting a cold sauna, facial, Fango and a massage. The honey detox massage was painful. And my customized facial was OK. Hubby liked his massage, and his facial gave him some bruising on the nose, but then he has sensitive skin. His cold sauna was very interesting and he liked his fango as well. We went into Vernon for dinner at a sushi place. We were back by 8, and then in infinity pool till 9 and did a round in the sauna and steam room around 9 for 30 min and ended the night with dessert in bed, that I had picked up at the bar. Overall, a day spend in full relaxation mode. Day 3 We were checking out today at 11am so headed to breakfast first thing in the morning, then infinity pool for half hour and sauna and steam room for half an hour. We checked out by 11:30 and walked the grounds for half hour and took a few pictures. We were both going over our days spend here and realizing that how important it was for us to have a couple getaway that was so relaxing. And now hubby wants to come here every 5 years. Overall, a great experience and I would recommend it to everyone out there to go check it out.

Yelp
Never has anything deserved 5 stars more than sparkling hill. Don't believe the bad reviews that had one off bad experiences. If you educate yourself about the operating times of everything at the resort and know what to expect, you will have the time of your life. The rooms were amazing, better than the Banff Springs. In fact better than any room we've ever stayed in around the world. The highlight though was the cold sauna. Definitely worth it for the unique experience. The regular saunas were amazing as well, with 9 different sauna and steam rooms to choose from. We tried them all twice, once in the evening and again in the morning after breakfast. The staff at every turn was super friendly and quickly responded to any concerns we had. We didn't eat at the restaurant for dinner, choosing instead to dine in our room. The breakfast was great, fresh scones made by their pastry chef was the highlight!

Yelp
Got back recently from a weekend trip here, and I had heard so many good things so I went in expecting perfection! It almost delivered. The room was beautiful, very comfortable beds and nice gym amenities. Buffet breakfast was excellent with a lot of variety. The heated outdoor pool and view are amazing and if it was warm enough outside I would have spent the whole afternoon sitting on a lounger. The negatives- a few spa issues the second day and the lady at the front desk wasn't very helpful. And I have to say is that for over 350$ per night i would expect better than scratchy single-ply toilet paper!

Yelp
Came here on their Winter Wonderland package. It was near the end of December with a screamin' rate so they were sold out - and incredibly understaffed. Dinner took hours and the staff looked exhausted. They would get 5 stars if they had the service and given what they are trying to be good service is expected. I will go back and anticipate things will be better.

Yelp
Sparkling Hill has always had an amazing location, great rooms, a luxurious spa, and stunning views. Up until recently I found the food and service lacking; but on my most recent trip I found that they'd improved both. A great place for a couple's retreat!

Yelp
We drove up August long weekend to stay at this resort. We really enjoyed our stay here the views from ever corner of this hotel is magnificent. We ate breakfast and dinner at the restaurant and the food was spectacular. When we first arrived we were exploring the resort and ran into a maintenance guy named Bob and immediately felt at home. He was so polite kind and genuine and went out of his way to give us a quick tour of the hotel and answered all of our questions. Overall we really enjoyed our stay and will definitely return in the near future.

Yelp
My fiancé was lovely enough to book me and my friend a stay at Sparkling Hills this past weekend. He did this as a surprise since he knows how much I love the resort and wanted me to enjoy a weekend before our wedding with my maid of honour. I was disappointed however in the service that was provided to me this weekend. Upon arrival I asked the lady at the front desk if my friend who was joining me the next day could come for breakfast and to the spa. She abruptly started telling me that it is only for guests staying over night. I know that my fiancé spent a great deal of money for me and my friend to stay there overnight when unfortunately my friend had a family emergency and could only come the next morning. I would assume since the room is for 2 people this wouldn't be a problem. Eventually the young lady spoke to her manager and determined that this was fine. This kind of service continued all weekend. I feel as though the staff at sparkling hills are constantly on the defence and are looking at ways to patrol every situation. A lot of spa and resort staff seemed to be in a very bad mood. I heard these sentiments echoed by other hotel guests as well. Perhaps they were not expecting the amount of people they booked over the weekend and were over worked. Another detail that I found unsatisfactory were some areas of cleanliness. The elevator from the spa into the hotel was filthy. As well as many of the ledges in the peak fine restaurant were dusty and un-kept. These are small details that to me, reflect a larger aspect of quality. There were however elements of our stay that were extraordinary. The steam rooms and saunas are amazing and so well kept! I also had a cryosauna which I will definitely be doing again and a fango service and a facial. All of these services were great and I would highly recommend them. We also had an amazing server named Adam in the cafe! He was the saving grace of the weekend. He was courteous and gracious at every opportunity! We actually opted to go to the cafe for dinner rather then the restaurant so that he could serve us. I will stay at Sparkling Hills again as it is still an amazing local get away for me.I just hope that there level of customer service and appreciation improves.
