Sparks Pinball Arcade - Premier Lanes

Fantastic line up of arcade and pinball machines. Fun information is posted on each machine. It is great to read. The walls are covered with interesting items. Great to visit and on my go to arcade locations in the area.

Be prepared to be overwhelmed by joy. If you have a dark soul might not be the best place for you as you will immediately be overtaken by a sense of wonder and a desire to press buttons and watch chrome balls fly all over the place. You can also throw larger balls down waxed wooden alleys and snack smaller numbered balls into felted pockets.

This is not a pinball only location. This is inside of a bowling alley. After reviewing the website, I was very excited to visit this location. However when I arrived there was NO signage or reference to the pinball arcade. I was initially confused because nothing says this is inside of a bowling alley. When i got inside you have to go through the bowling alley to get to the pinball machines. There was a nice variety but 90% of the machines were blocked by people playing billiards, crowding, and/or out of order or off machines. The machines are play per machine which was fine but the change machines were broken. I had to put money into the soda vending machine to get quarters. This is a cool bowling alley but when your showing up exclusively being advertised as a pinball arcade only, it's a bit falsely advertised which was very disappointing.

Sparks shares a building with a bowling alley, so if you’re looking for even more entertainment, you can easily switch between a game of pinball and knocking down some pins. Sparks Pinball Museum is one of my favorite places in the world, a true haven for pinball lovers, and a place that radiates passion and joy. I can't recommend it enough!

Thanks for the google reviews saying this was inside a bowling alley! Probably wouldn't have went inside since we couldn't see anywhere it said pinball. Great find! So much fun playing different pinball machines but I could have stayed all day playing pac man for 25 cents. Machines around the change your money into quarters. Loved that all the machines had write ups about them, enjoyed reading some of them. We will be back for sure

Wish I could rate it higher but probably 1 in 3 games are unplayable. It either eats your money or plays like trash. If you stick to a machine you know that works, its fine.

Williams/Bally pinball heaven. They have all the best machines from the pinball golden age! Once a month, they do a $10 freeplay event, which is an amazing value! This place is definitely worth the visit!

First visit. I hate leaving a bad review but this place was a huge disappointment. Don't trust the high star reviews. My husband and I came here for a fun date. The place was dead. We opened a tab, ordered some drinks, got our quarters ready. We went through and checked out each machine. There's approximately 20-30 going based on memory and they all have little blurbs on their history. I thought this was super cool. Then once we checked each one out and went to play this is where the buzz kill happened. The machines just ate our quarters! We tried 3 games and talked with the staff and they said they they don't own the machines and couldn't help. Then continued to hang out on their phone. Just a huge disappointment. I dont recommend unless you just want to look at pin ball machines and not play them.

i used to frequent Sparks about a decade ago -- then i fazed out of pinball a bit and moved out of the area (i mean.. only 20ish miles, but still. i'm a pud.) i recently went back with my renewed love of pinball and had a good time ... for the most part. some of the machines were quick to gulp up quarters (note: put one in at a time and make sure it registers), a few were beat up to the point of being pretty unplayable, a good number have ZERO ball save which is rough on newcomers... i was kind of bummed in a sense. especially considering the owner of these machines (who's a great guy, don't get me wrong) claims to enjoy fixing them up more than playing them. well, i play 'em, and so you know... some are a bit wonky! truly, that can be part of the fun and mystique of pinball though -- except the eating quarters thing. fuck that. anyway my favorite part about Sparks now is that Mike has a slew of new Stern pins that are Insider Connected, so you can track your progress -- i'm always a fan of that. plus, the truth is, newer really is better in the world of pinball. i've always loved many machines from the late 80s and throughout the 90s, but most of the new machines being put out now are just incredible and i appreciate Sparks having about 8 machines from 2015ish to today. all in all, i enjoy it here, and it wouldn't feel quite right without dropping $6 for a 32oz draft of labatt poured into a haggard and microplastic ladened mug. which reminds me -- a drink and a half. that's the sweet spot for getting loose and doing well on a machine. happy pinning!

Easily one of the coolest hidden gems in Metro Detroit! This place is amazing! I have wanted to visit for a long time, but I live almost on hour away on the other side of Metro Detroit. I had the day off, and decided to make the trek out. Spark's is located inside a bowling alley, and utilizes a space that I think was once where the pool tables were (there are still two pool tables within the museum). Sparks is LOADED with tons of pinball machines, ranging from the 1960s through today, it really gives you a great exhibition on the evolution of pinball. Each machine also has a cool placard with information about the significance of the machine. There are also cool historic signs on the walls from places that are long gone, including Major Magic's, which holds a special place in my heart since I went there a lot as a kid. Spark's also has many classic 80's arcade games. The bar connected to it is great and the machines have cup holders attached to them so you have a spot for your drink as you play. I thought I'd spend an hour max in here and ended up staying for two hours....and I only left because I needed to get home. If this place was closer to be, I'd be here often. I hope to make it back soon. Hopefully with some friends for a fun, unique night of pinball.

It was really fun and I really enjoyed playing all the pin ball machines! My favorite one was the terminator one.

First off their pinball collection is amazing. I understand the amount of work it takes to gather this amount of machines and try to make a viable business. That alone would make this a 5 star place. Unfortunately, the maintenance is lacking on some of the titles. These machines are a labor of love and some of them need just that love. I'll be back again. Now alittle more aware of what's in store.

The arcade it's self is an amazing time just wish you could grab a beer without be treated like an annoyance. Everything is good except the bartender who is always in a terrible mood no matter what time you go. She treats everyone like an inconvenience unless you're into being treated like crap I would suggest avoiding the bar if the older blonde haired lady is working.

When we pulled into the parking lot, initially we were not sure we were in the right place as the museum is hidden inside Premier Bowling Alley. And while there, you might not realize it is a museum since there isn't any signage (that I could see). There were signs on each machine providing information about the particular machine which I did find interesting. I would have liked some information as to how the collection was started.

Never in my life did I expect to find a Rollergames pinball machine in the wild. For me, this was the machine of my troubled adolescent years. It was the one at the mall arcade which I pumped with quarters when battling the teen angst of the moment. So imagine my delight when I found out on pinside.com that there was a place just north of Detroit with a machine in its collection! Sparks isn't quite a pinball museum, per se. It's more of a pinball centric arcade inside a bowling alley. And for me, that makes it even better. Because when I wasn't playing pinball at the mall, my teen years were full of playing video games at the local bowling alley. It also means there's a snack bar and a bar bar. And even better, the machines are fully equipped with cup holders for your beer, so they aren't precariously perched on top of these sensitive machines. The machines I played were in great shape, all things considered. And while they may cost more than they did 25 years ago, the price to pay is still cheaper than at my local pinball hall in Ann Arbor. Still, this is a long way to drive for pins. However, if you find yourself anywhere near the area, brave the sketchy strip mall parking lot and be transported to a magical place where the silver ball can take all your troubles away. While I wasn't there long enough to try the food, the pepperoni pizza looked remarkably good. The square pie was dotted with curled cups that had nicely charred edges. If I didn't have dinner plans, I would have totally grabbed a slice. FWIW, only one machine was out of order on my visit. And the Earthshaker machine played beautifully.

A little hard to find it is inside the bowling alley. The prices are reasonable. My only complaint is all the pool tables are in the middle so playing the games was complicated by people playing pool, there was not adequate space around the tables.

Definitely the best selection of good working order pins in the area. You would have to drive pretty far for better. It's at a bowling alley that often has live entertainment as well and of course drinks if that interests you. My only complaint is that the live music can be pretty distracting as it's in the adjacent room. That's probably not going to change though so..

I sure was excited to go to this place - LOVE pinball and arcades. I read on the pinball map that they had like 50 machines. I called and asked about them, and they corroborated the number. Issue is, a TON of them are out of order (esp. upsetting was the fact that Monster Bash was out of order - BOO.) Plus, there are some that aren't marked as "out of order" but they sure do take your quarters and you don't get to play. There's a sign that says "play at your own risk." Come on, WTH is that? So, overall pretty disappointed with this place. The bowling was slightly better, as the alley worked most of the time (lost a ball for a round, but back in action after throwing a different ball)... but the bowling balls aren't marked for weight and they aren't in any way organized - so was a major pain in the butt to find a ball I could use. I would probably put this place at a 2.5 stars, and I rounded up for just having pinball/arcade since that seems to be hard to find in Metro Detroit. :(

Highly recommend! Offers something for everyone from pinball machines to arcade games! Bonus was we got to meet the guys who own and operate the Sparks locaction and they hooked us up with a bunch of free play being our first time there! Thanks again! We will be back and looking forward to Godzilla!

Great place with an insane amount of 40 classic pinball machines.. Each game has the history of each game on the top it. Basically has games from the 80s and 90s.
