I was honestly worried after reading so many negative reviews about the food, but my experience turned out to be the opposite. The food was amazing, the brussel sprouts were some of the best I’ve ever had, the fried rice was great, and the sunset view made the evening even better. Drinks were solid as well. The only thing that felt off was the music. It was extremely loud and didn’t match the vibe of the place. This doesn’t feel like a spot where people come to dance, but rather to have dinner, enjoy drinks, and talk. That part was hard to do over the noise. Overall, though, the food, drinks, and sunset view really impressed me, and I’d definitely come back.

The Sparrow is such a fun spot! The food and drinks were legitimately so delicious. Allanna was an angel on earth and endearing. Eldon, the GM, was hilarious and made us feel so welcome. We had such a great time and can’t wait to come back! Edit: and McKenzie downstairs at the front desk had really great energy, I hope to see her again!

I came here opening weekend and was expecting a lot of delays due to it being very new but I was surprised to see this place running like a well oiled machine. The food came out quickly as did our drinks. The DJ was absolutely amazing and kept the vibes high. I really loved all the decor and the beautiful atmosphere. Our server was absolutely amazing and very attentive. I love that. They have a beautiful selection of cocktails to choose from as well. The only feedback is that I think the bow buns needed some kind of sauce or something, but that’s just my personal preference. I’ll definitely be back for some kind of girls night or a date. It just had that beautiful vibe.

We went to the Sparrow rooftop for a date night and it was such a great spot! We sat outside on the rooftop and the view was so pretty and music was great from the DJ. All the food was incredible! Our favorites were the spicy tuna crispy rice and the Central Ave Crunch Roll! Will definitely come back when we visit St Pete again.

Google
Beautiful place with top notch pleasant staff who were kind, efficient and welcoming. Only complaint was that the music at as early as 5:30 was so loud, we could barely hear each other while eating dinner. We think they are trying to do too many things. Trying to be a tapas bar, a restaurant, a nightclub, etc. My suggestion is that if you want to be everything, at least hold off on turning up the music until 8pm so people who come to eat at 6pm can have a conversation without screaming at each other. I will go back for drinks but not a sit down until the music decreases in decibels.

Google
Beautiful spot in Downtown St. Pete. Perfect date night, girls/guys night out or with the gang. The esthetics are beautiful inside. More of an upscale type of vibe. The food was delicious. I ordered the duck bao buns and shishito peppers and both were delicious. I look forward to going back and trying more menu items. You would want to make reservations to ensure a table.

Google
Had a great time! gorgeous views from the rooftop & cool ambiance inside. Rodnay and Raf were super kind and knowledgeable and gave great drink recommendations. Everything was amazing. 10/10 will be coming back

Google
Sparrow is an awesome spot! The atmosphere is amazing and the view from the outdoor rooftop section is great. The last time I went, Sam, the bar back, was fantastic! She made sure our table was clean, cleared our drinks, and even went out of her way to work with our server to help us order another round, even though her station is mainly behind the bar! We were all so appreciative of her accommodation since it was a very busy night as she was also juggling her bar back responsibilities. The food was really good too. Will def be going back to eat more fried rice 🍚

Yelp
Have been wanting to try this place since they opened! My boyfriend and I went here to celebrate my birthday. We made a reservation for 2 at 7pm on a Friday night. Had no problem checking in and was brought to our table indoors. The drinks were amazing and our servers were super friendly! The food came out quickly but was just okay! Nothing special but I would love to come back just for drinks!

Yelp
Sparrow is located on top of the Moxy Hotel right in downtown St. Pete. It has an inside with bar seating and comfortable couches, along with ample seating outdoors. We sat outside and enjoyed the great views. We ordered a Jameson ginger ale, a prosecco, chicken skewers, and Brussels sprouts. The Brussels sprouts were average, but the sweet miso glaze sauce that comes with them was good. We also don't know if the three chicken skewers was worth the $16 price. The menu here is on the smaller side and the food didn't particularly stand out to us. I recommend stopping by for a drink or an appetizer and getting a meal somewhere else.

Yelp
Okay so this place has amazing potential we dined here for dinner and drinks, our server was super friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. Online looking at the food menu there appeared to be many vegan and vegetarian options however they cook everything in beef tallow so that is super misleading and not the case. My vegan friend was able to eat edamame and we had to go elsewhere for food afterwards LOL. The cocktails I will say are fantastic. I am very knowledgeable about cocktails and the menu you can tell was made by a professional. Not for the basic crowd. Delicious! We did watch guests break a glass on the patio area and proceed to put it into a planter instead of asking the staff for a broom?? (Btw it was the plant in the corner) Very odd crowd here... The atmosphere is gorgeous, I recommend dining inside if you plan to eat, or just drinks you can stand or sit outside. Beautiful views of the sunset and they have an outside bar if you're just drinking. All of the staff was super friendly I just really really wish their food menu was diet friendly or at least not misleading.

Yelp
Heyyyyyy you guyyyys! Lets talk about it-the vibe is good the food is even better! The views are amazing!!! Sam and Dre at the bar hands down give the best service. Mixology bye Dre was 10 out of 10. Food was delicious. We opted for the steak and it did not disappoint. We had a great time, music was great as well. Great place to gather with friends or date night!

Yelp
I was really excited to try this place out for drinks before dinner however, I was disappointed. This place is suppose to have a dress code, but that was obviously not enforced. As a business, don't say you have a dress code and then let people in wearing athletic wear please. The decor is very nice and cute, which is why I wish they would enforce the dress code. I was expecting this place to be more of a bar that does not take reservations, but every single table was reserved. We had to sit at the bar or high tops which was fine since there were open seats outside. It was fine for a drink, but I will not be returning. I would rather go someplace nicer where I can sit at a table if I'm going to be spending $15 on a simple drink.

Yelp
Finally checked out Sparrow Rooftop at the Moxy Hotel. Loved the ambiance, great vibes with a live DJ, and the service was excellent. Our food came out quickly, which was a plus. I'm giving it 3 stars because the food itself was just mediocre. Everything we ordered was just OK--not bad, but nothing memorable. That being said, the Korean Fried Chicken Tender was a standout! Juicy, perfectly cooked, and full of flavor. I'd highly recommend ordering that. I'd definitely come back for drinks and the atmosphere, but I'd probably skip dining here next time. What I ordered: - Crispy Rice & Spicy Tuna Tartare: Avocado, Sriracha Mayo, Serrano Chili - Korean Fried Chicken Tender: Pickled Slaw, Gochujang Seasoning - Lobster Mac and Cheese: Maine Lobster, Shells, Lobster Bechamel, Bread Crumbs - Duck Bao Buns with Cucumber, Hoisin, Scallion

Yelp
Carolyn was 10 out of 10!!!! She created such a fun experience for us. Gave great suggestions, was fun to talk to and overall created a fun night. If you're thinking of going to sparrow ask for Carolyn you won't be disappointed.

Yelp
Note: I haven't dined or had drinks here yet, but I went to check out the new space when it opened. I took some amazing pics of the view and had to share! The staff was super nice, and the whole space has such a great vibe. I'll definitely be coming back with friends soon. Everyone I know who has been here has nothing but good things to say! Can't wait to try it myself--will review again when I do!

Yelp
New rooftop restaurant with 2 bars. We got drinks at both bars. Before sunset I recommend the outside bar. After sunset we went to have a second drink and dinner at the inside bar. My first drink was the dragon's egg. A unique frothy drink with sesame oil. Really enjoyed it, would def get it again. I ordered the duck bao buns and a watermelon margarita inside. My friend ordered edamame, sushi, and fried rice. All were great. The sushi was my favorite topped with masago. Service was great, both bartenders were checking if we needed anything and if we liked our food.

Yelp
After taking an absolutely kick Axx workout at Carve the New Pilates Studio in St. Pete and a short R&R break we headed to Sparroe for some bites and bubbles. Service was fantastic and food absolutely delicious, the ambience was trendy yet classy and club style music ( kind of continued after our Pilates workout :) such a perfect match . We had been staying at Moxy Hotel on several business trips in St .Pete with the much anticipated opening of this restaurant/ lounge. Very nice atmosphere and outing. Outdoor seating was great but empty today since weather was rather nippy :) Definitely be back to get some other tasteful samplings after another workday and a Pilates workout in St Pete. Love it!!

Yelp
Sparrow is not just for the birds!!! When you enter the Moxy hotel, you'll head right in and veer left to the elevators, there will be a host stand that can direct you up the dedicated elevator. From there you'll meet your host inside that will bring you to our table. They have a restaurant length bar and plenty of indoor seating, being as I was there on a whim I was sat outside. The views were phenomenal!! It was pretty windy and cold but so rate of Florida I don't think it's a constant problem. They do have plenty of space heaters to help combat that tho! There is a separate bar outside, plenty of seating and a full audio system to listen to music and enjoy the night with friends! I may have made this a solo trip this time but this is certainly a place to come with others! My server Thalia was very attentive and made sure I was with a drink in hand at all times, one of my favorite things when I'm out and about! If I'm brutally honest, I think both the guys and girls were both dressed in a professionally gorgeous manner! Everyone working just looked so good I loved the vibe, they really put effort in on every part of their job and there's something to be said about that! I did two rounds of old fashioned and I was very pleased with them, simple but perfect for me! For food my eyes went right for the lobster Mac and cheese, the Maine lobster was so yummy and they didn't skimp on the portion of lobster to pasta, overall very good!!! Honestly really liked this spot and would love to come back soon with others!!!

Yelp
A vibrant atmosphere with a rooftop view of downtown. The drinks are thoughtfully crafted with unique and complementary flavors. We tried the mocktails, which were amazing (they tasted like they'd be great with liquor added as well, if that's more your thing). The bartenders recommended the Disco Balls on Fire, which was sweet and refreshing with the right amount of kick from the habanero. The Old Monk was less sweet with bolder flavors of miso and ginger. The heaters make it comfortable even in winter. We'll definitely be back to try more of the drinks, bar bites, and enjoy the view.

Yelp
This beautiful rooftop bar is nestled on top of the Moxy hotel with great views of St. Pete! I've stayed at a Moxy hotel before and the aesthetics are unmatched. My meal was delicious but I'd love to come back and try their sushi! We loved enjoying the nice weather and happy hour on their rooftop patio. The only downside was their $50 shareable dirty martini cocktail that only ended up being two small ish drinks.

Yelp
Vibe is Amazing! Let's start with that! I went here on a Saturday evening with reservations for 4. We all arrived at different times and were allowed to sit and not wait on everyone. I started the day off with truffle fries and a Belvedere & soda. Our friend all eventually showed up and we had a variety of foods to eat. I had the steak medium rare and oh my god. Tender and absolutely delicious. The only thing I would complain about l, but it's probably how they serve their food was the Jasmine rice was cold. I did not expect that. That and the fact they serve it Tapas style and foods come out as they are made but I sat there and waited longer than anyone for my cold rice. Either way that was my only quirk with the food. Sushi was delicious, pork buns were amazing! The drinks we had were absolutely watered down and not worth it. Our entire table stopped drinking! The vibe and energy of this place is what sets it apart. They had a Dj on this night and he was playing some amazing hits. The music is loud, club loud so be ready. Granted we were seated closer to the speakers than most. st pete doesn't have this vibe anywhere else, if your looking for something fresh and new give Sparrows at Moxy's hotel a try.

Yelp
First off, food was good! Brace yourselves bc you're in for a wait that will feel like a CVS receipt if you do not have a reservation. So unless you're into being roasted by the host who could give Gordon Ramsay a run for his money in sassiness (seriously, they're a character!) just reserve a table. The view? Absolutely stunning, like something straight out of a postcard. Our waitress (possibly the manager, because she was running the show like a boss) was not only beautiful but also as sweet as pie. She made our lil wait feel like a breeze--though to be fair, we had a late 10:45 reservation, so things had understandably slowed down by then. Will we be back? Absolutely! See y'all soon with an early reservation in hand

Yelp
Sparrow is the newest edition of the moxy and in downtown St.Pete. We went here on a Saturday night with reservations and those are definitely needed on a Saturday. When you first walk in, there is a line in the lobby to go up. The atmosphere itself has a nice 360 view of downtown St. Petersburg. There is alot of seating with an indoor and outdoor bar. They have a live DJ as well. Because they are new they do have some kinks to work out. They have delicious unique drinks that are Asian inspired with their take on a spicy margarita which I enjoyed. I also got their bang bang shrimp tacos and those were tasty as well. There were some inconsistencies with the kitchen when it came to our orders. The waitress was good about it but several of our orders were not timely some cold food or waiting a long amount of time for food compared to others at the table. This place does have potential to be a good vibe when they work out the inconsistencies in food timeliness. It is an enjoyable lounge atmosphere with DJs and music into the late night. Depending on your music tastes of course!

Yelp
The place is super cute with the DJ playing great music. Would recommend this place for drinks, vibes, and views on a Friday night. Would not recommend this place for food. As soon as we walked in they let us know the kitchen was backed up for sushi orders and it would be a long wait. We were a party of 6 and only 4 of us got some of our food and was done eating before the rest of the food came out. They were out of crispy rice and brought out a sushi roll to offer instead (on the house of course). The Brussel sprouts were hard and bland, which they took off the bill. The service was rather slow but our waitress was nice and understanding.

Yelp
I wish I could give a higher rating for this place...the location and ambiance were the highlights by far. Would still make a great stop for a date or place to bring out of town guests for a rooftop (pricey) drink. We had reservations for a table, and were greeted by a red velvet rope and security guard to enter the elevator from the lobby. Upon reaching the 6th floor, there was a hostess station (similar setup to Cane & Barrel) managing all seating, including access to the bar. Once seated, we were offered food menus only and had to ask for drink menus. Our server said she would "go find us one," as though this was a big undertaking. After an extended wait, our party of 4 was presented with ONE drink menu to share. It was a hefty menu, which was poorly designed because it did not stay open without considerable effort. We ordered a Dirty Is A Safe Word martini from the 'group format' page of the menu that was supposed to serve 2-3. It had a strong yeasty aftertaste and we didn't finish it. After ordering several other cocktails from the menu, the Sex in Tokyo was our favorite. Will stay away from ordering any of the drinks from the menu and stick with the classics next time. On to the food...we ordered a mix of items from each section of the menu to get a good feel of the kitchen...from a very standard/simple edamame starter (which did not end up arriving until almost the end), chicken skewers (nothing special and absurdly small portion), duck bao buns (comes only as 3 and unable to add a 4th when we asked the server, did not have hoisin as described, pretty ordinary), crispy rice and tuna tartare (which was the winning dish of the night by far!). We also ordered 2 of the sushi rolls, but they took so long to come -- we had ordered everything together -- so by about an hour and a half in, we told the server not to worry about figuring out where/if our rolls were coming. The same thing happened with one of the last drinks we ordered...it never came, so we asked for the check and called it a night. Keeping in mind they have only been open a few days, I'll give them another shot for a classic/standard drink, but will give them some time to work out the kinks. Has the potential to be great, so I'm hoping they make the necessary adjustments to be successful! Meant to take more food photos, but forgot!

Yelp
I got in late to the Moxy hotel and didn't feel like dressing up too fancy and wanted something good with a beach vibe since I was in St.Petersburg... this place was conveniently located on the rooftop of my hotel. Food was delicious. It was packed with people so I took a seat at the bar. Bar staff were ok to be fair I was not drinking so I am sure I was no fun to have at the bar lol.

Morgan K.

Yelp
The vibes at sunset are 10/10. The snapper was good and Brussels and Caesar salad were good. The spicy edamame were not edible there were so spicy, the duck bai bun had good flavor but very overcooked, the yellowfish tostada barely had seafood and was all sauce and needed more salt. For the price point I expect better. We had to ask for water 3x in the hour and a half we were there so safe to say service was not great either. I suggesting going for a sunset cocktail and that's all

Yelp
I have to say my favorite part of this restaurant was the service. From the hostess to the bartender and server. They were all very kind and knowledgeable. The hostess accommodated us even though we didn't have a reservation (blonde woman) and the bartender (tall, blonde, young man) offered us recommendations and checked to make sure we liked our drinks. When we got our table, the waitress (freckles, brunette) even crouched over to speak to us, felt very personal. I loved the ambiance. It was a little chilly so no one was outside, but the outdoor deck looked beautiful and well furnished. I tried two cocktails. The 'Modern Gaysha' and 'Dragon's Egg'. The first was light and just the right amount of sweetness. The 'Dragon's Egg' was so unique and bold. I really enjoyed both. To eat, we ordered the brussels sprouts and lobster roll. I ate the brussels sprouts before I could take a picture, but they were yummy! The lobster roll had a good amount of lobster and the person I was with (who is an avid sushi lover) said they also liked it. The floral arrangement at the entrance is a nice touch.

Yelp
I WAS WRONG... We saw the balcony from the street and I thought this would be an ideal place for my wife's birthday dinner with six of our closest friends. Two weekends before her birthday, we went in person to speak with the manager and make a reservation with seating for six on the outdoor balcony for dinner on her special night. The manager was not available, but the lovely hostess took down our information and assured us we would be accommodated for outdoor seating on the balcony. I was wrong We showed up with our party of six at 6:15 on a Friday evening and we were promptly ushered to a dark, uncomfortable indoor lounge type setup right next to the toilets and and under a loudspeaker blaring EDM. Like a full on European disco at 6:15. So we approached the hostess and asked for our promised seat outside since we had made the reservation in person. I thought they would realize their mistake and make it right. I was wrong... After waiting there for 15 minutes while they checked their records, they finally said we could sit at a bar table outside until a larger table became available. It was a cocktail table the size of a large pizza made to seat 3 people. So we all squeezed in and sat there thinking we would have a cocktail until the table opened up. I was wrong... We ordered two beers and a bottle of wine and waited 45 minutes to get our drinks. After a glass of wine, we were hoping our table would come open and we could order food I was wrong... An hour and a half in, we went ahead and ordered what we could fit on our minuscule cocktail table. After another inexplicable long hiatus from our waitress, they brought out Applebee's style fried rice, some burgers, and lobster Mac and cheese. Since there wasn't enough space on the table, two of us had to balance plates on our lap and eat like we were at a lower Alabama fish fry. I thought the lobster Mac and cheese had a strong fish odor but it would be ok to eat since I was so hungry at that point. I was wrong (read on if you dare) I was so embarrassed this was my wife's birthday and thought the experience could not be any worse I was wrong ... The waitress finally sauntered back as we were apologizing to our friends and then refused to separate our checks. When my one female friend, who was upset already from the experience, demanded she split the check, the waitress said "you will get one check and you will pay it". They then got into an argument and the waitress stuck her finger in my friend's face. The manager came over, and I thought he would do something to compensate us for our humiliation I was wrong... He did nothing but say he would deal with the hostess that ruined our reservation and the waitress who was horrific. I was so humiliated at that point I picked up dinner for most of my guests and profusely apologized. We left and tried to have a drink somewhere else thinking i could salvage what was left of my wife's birthday. I was wrong... We walked down the street to Dirty Laundry and ordered cocktails. As I walked in, I felt some stomach pain and hoped it was just gas. I was wrong... Please don't put yourself through what we did. If you want to go to this place and enjoy the view, order a drink or two then move on.

Yelp
Walked into the bar on a Friday night and while waiting to order a drink, a glass shattered right next to me--sending shards all over me and resulting in a cut on my finger. Not only was there no apology or concern shown by the staff, but the only response I got was, "Here's a Band-Aid." No follow-up, no compensation, not even a basic acknowledgment that it shouldn't have happened. For a place that presents itself as upscale, the lack of accountability and care was honestly shocking. I even have photos of the glass and cut. Would love contact from management because the managers present didn't care. They cared more about partying with the DJ and enjoying their night.

Yelp
Ugh. I wanted to love this place we were so excited to go but the staffing is terrible. It seemed like no one really wanted to work even at the bar. Like you know your opening a new restaurant it's the weekend in st Pete have the proper staff. Hawkers literally serves in half the time. And thennnnnn the worst part my chicken was not fully cooked!! Even the waiter was like omg and I was just offered free shots. Just disappointing. The ambiance is ok but yeah.

Yelp
Went here for dinner & the service here was just horrible. I ordered an espresso martini & crispy rice at the same time as my friends. They all received their food - one of my friends even ordered the same dish as me, she received hers and I didn't get mine and had to wait at least another 30 mins to receive mine. I was told they had ran out of tuna but they'd still figure it out and give me the crispy rice. Another friend had ordered chicken skewers and it took them at least another hour for her to get them as there was a mixup, she ended up getting them and they were COLD. we closed out our check and decided to sit elsewhere on the rooftop for the DJ. We sat and had another server who we had asked to order shots with and then had closed out our bill. Some of our friends decided to leave so we wanted to order more shots and did. Then the waitress decided to overcharge us for the same shots we had just ordered, then got irritated that we noticed. They decided to comp those shots for their error and we decided we would order more drinks instead. We asked for another drink and were given the wrong thing- we got more shots instead and got overcharged for the same shots we just ordered AGAIN. The server seemed irritated and was more interested in flirting with the group of men across our table instead. We were then given our original server from dinner where we decided to order the other drink with her. When it came to checking out the comped mistaken shots were on the bill. We let her know - and then my friend wanted to order a 1 bottle of water as well to go. Why did she charge us both for the water.. we reached out to another girl working there or I should say twerking to the DJ as we couldn't find the server to let her know she made another mistake. she came over and said she didn't know what she could do at that point - and that my friend could just Venmo me for the water instead of them having to void out the order and "create more bank statements". I just have never received such a bad experience like this before. I'm trying to give grace as it's been like 2-3 weeks since their rooftop bar opened but I just don't know if I would take the time to come back here. The music was just too loud at points you had to literally scream at the person next to you to hear. They also switched dj's at a point and the music was just so much house music - like please read the room and at least play a top 40, it was getting boring. In regards to the crispy rice it was okay nothing too much to rave about and the espresso martini was fine.

Yelp
Oh Sparrow. So much potential. Gorgeous space Service was delightful-Ty Meg Drinks were fine. The strange rules surrounding tequila-are well strange. I'm sorry that the creative director is against tequila with additives. Weird hill to die on. View is stunning. It is loud. Didn't bother us but at 5pm music is pumping. The food is a problem. Sushi looks like grocery store. Nothing had flavor. NOTHING. CRISPY rice was stale Tostadas were stale It was very sad. We are not Miami. Thank goodness. I don't see a bottle service style club sustaining any real traction. Will def be back for drinks. Will be interesting to see how the sparrow vision evolves as it realizes who and what St. Pete is

Yelp
Beware this place is very racist Went Friday night for dinner and was told there is a waiting of 45 minutes to even go up to the restaurant. We sat and had drinks at the lobby bar and waited for a text to say our table was ready . When in line to go up to the restaurant they were letting anyone and everyone go to the restaurant bar . We were told to stay down for 45 minutes while ( we are brown) all whites had no waiting . Once we got to the restaurant the hostess told us that we can only go to the bar and there is no table for us . Again people coming behind us were seated . We were ( my wife and I ) were very puzzled that white people were given tables and did not have to wait like us . When we asked the hostess about the fact that the person / hostess on the ground floor said our table was ready ... she just said we have no tables for you and called security who were abusive and basically showed us back into the elevator We are a professional couple in our mid 50ties and were radically profiled and discriminated by the staff and the restaurant In hindsight sight the entire ground floor and the dinning room had no personal of color in the entire place Please be open to be blatant discrimination when going to this place

Yelp
This place is a must ! From the crispy rice appetizer to the ribeye. Everything was delicious. The menus were extensive and definitely curated, our server Thalia expertly led us through courses and cocktail pairings. We will be back thank your for a great evening Thalia

Yelp
We were a group of 6 (3 couples). The music was so incredibly loud. You could not even talk to the person across the table from you. We had an 8 PM reservation. It was actually a DJ playing music. WTF!?! DJ at 8 PM? It was like the loudest nightclub you can imagine. Would not recommend this place for dinner unless you just plan to eat and stare at the people at your table.

Yelp
This place is sexy, beautiful and all the things aesthetically. The music was good and the drinks even better. We had a reservation. Unbeknownst to us, food service ends before 10 which was surprising because of the closing time and the fact that we could make the reservation. It would be nice if they at least had a late-night menu. Will be back at an earlier time to actually eat!

Danielle G.

Yelp
Overall, the vibe and the views are the redeeming qualities of this place. The music was VERY loud (like yell across the table loud). Beautiful restaurant and we had a great time just hanging out. However, the service was awful. Took 20 minutes before our server even came to get our drink orders. She forgot to put not one, but TWO food items in. We had to ask her to remove empty plates/glasses from the table as they just started to pile up as they'd bring out more. The food was NOT good. They were out of almost all of the sushi rolls, except literally the salmon roll and veggie roll. For a restaurant that's only open a few days a week, this was really strange to me. The quality of the fish was not good. The salmon was fishy and warm. The bao buns were overcooked. The crispy rice was not crispy. The drinks were fine. Again, vibes make this place worth checking out, but I wouldn't eat here again.

Yelp
We were there on a Friday night, and it was busy. We were glad we had reservations. The overall aesthetics of the place are the only reason I gave this location 2 stars. The service was decent for a busy night. The biggest issue was the volume of the music! Thank goodness the playlist was decent because the volume was so loud, especially inside, that you could not converse without shouting at each other. Several other people we encountered felt the same way. I also can't speak too highly of the cocktails. We ordered four total; two were okay, but two had no flavor other than straight alcohol. I ordered the Mariachi made with Mezcal, which is fine, but it tasted like that was all in it. There's a great deal of potential here, but the music volume (appropriate for a night club) needed to be less, and the cocktails definitely need a flavor injection.

Yelp
The hostess was extremely rude. We started downstairs at the bar and then worked our way upstairs after we put our name in. They don't let you bring your drinks from the downstairs bar upstairs. The hostess yelled at us immediately after we walked off the elevator. Good vibe but awful hospitality. Way better roof tops in the area.

Yelp
Sparrow Rooftop Bar at Moxy So disappointed with this place. Our experience was terrible. My husband and I (in our fifties) decided to take our 25 year old son who is visiting for the holidays to this new, highly anticipated and talked about venue last evening, Friday, December 27th. We got on the waiting list after informing the host by the red velvet rope in the lobby at least 3 times that we were there for dinner as well as drinks. He told us that the wait could be close to 40 minutes and that we were welcome to go to the bar in the lobby and wait which we did. I got a text informing us that our table was ready about 30 minutes later. On the way up to the 6th floor, we were escorted up by a security guard who grumbled about the crazy people that frequent this establishment and the "crazy a** s***" he has to put up with. Not exactly what you want to hear when going to a new place for the first time! We were greeted by two hostesses on the 6th floor where Sparrow is located. The music was really loud here so voices had to be raised to be heard. They yelled that we would not be seated at a table yet as there were no tables available but we could sit at the bar and order drinks. I tried to explain that we had requested a table for dinner while making the reservation, and that we had received a text informing us that our TABLE was ready. We were told that this is pretty much what we were going to get and that they also couldn't promise us that we would be seated in time to order dinner before the kitchen closed. Obviously, we were not happy. I leaned in to let her know that we had especially requested to be seated for dinner and before I knew it, the other hostess came forward and told me to stop yelling. Mind you, everyone has to yell to be heard here. They informed us that security was being called up and sure enough, the same security guard came to escort us downstairs and out of the establishment. We were in complete shock... we have lived in St Pete for the past 6 years and have never ever experienced anything like this. Please don't waste your time and money by going to this establishment.

Yelp
great ambiance, everyone that works here is so nice and beautiful! came here on a Friday night around 7, amazing music by DJ Ari. Great drinks by Dante, and delicious sushi rolls. Definitely will come back. Great place to start your night with dinner and drinks. They ask you if you have reservations at the door, so it's better you have them, easy to do on Open table! although the bar seats are so comfy and nice!

Yelp
Great atmosphere! Service could have been better, long wait to get drinks at the bar and even after being seated. Even though it was Saturday night it shouldn't have taken as long as it did. Definitely make a reservation! First come first serve at the bar indoor and out. Ended up making a reservation while we were outside. Totally different service once we were seated at our table. The limited food menu was mediocre at best. Hostess was very accommodating after I made a reservation at wrong location and the DJ was awesome!!!

Yelp
In reviewing all the bad reviews of this place with absolutely ZERO response from management to any comments, I wonder where the Moxy/Marriott/Bonvoy executives are. Do they not care that this property is so deficient in any quality of food or customer service? All should be fired, this place should be gutted and the ground treated with lime. Start over.

Yelp
Lovely spot. Awful everywhere else. Food was both burnt and raw (there's a talent). Tartare wasn't even solid Tuna (a paste). And the staff is about as unhelpful as they come. I sent my food back it was raw inside and she "took it off the bill". Gee thanks. How about compy'ing the lame TarTare as an im sorry we almost gave you samonella

Yelp
If you have money to bribe the host, you don't have to wait in line. We were given an hour wait time to go up to the rooftop bar Sparrow. As we were waiting we saw a group of 5 people given a 2-hour wait time when one guy handed over cash to the host - they were immediately let up. Once we got to the rooftop it was not full. It would have been a more fun experience if they allowed more people up at a time. It's a nice bar but they are wasting space.

Yelp
I really wanted to like this place but I was so disappointed :( the music was LOUD, and I like music but wow it was overwhelming. Inside you were yelling, and outside you were still yelling. My voice hurts from just trying to have drinks with friends. The bao buns were so bad I can't believe anyone approved them. The pork was the tiniest piece of chewy and terrible meat, maybe the equivalent of one bacon strip amongst 3 buns. The drinks were meh, like even a regular marg was not good and cost $16+ dollar ($3 extra for watermelon??). $66 dollars for 2 drinks and 1 thing of terrible bao buns. Service was nice and I like a good rooftop that's why it isn't 1 star. Overall it's just not worth it because the drinks and food are bad and you're yelling the whole time and can't hear anyone.

Yelp
Came to check this place out a few days ago after hearing all the buzz on social media, and it was undoubtedly worth the hype. Sat at the outside bar on the patio and the views of downtown were unmatched, along with the prettiest sunset. Everything about the place adds to the experience, from the small shareable plates on the menu, to the excellent service, and the unique cocktail menu with an asian twist. The bartenders Dre and Dom were an absolute delight and never left us with an empty drink or a dirty plate in front of us. My husband and I were thoroughly impressed and will definitely be making this a routine date night spot!

Yelp
Let's start with the 15 minute wait for our RESERVED table. This didn't sit well with any of the 4 of us. We were finally seated at an oblong table, with 2 seats on banquet and a chair at either end. The banquet sits high, chairs low. It was weirdly uncomfortable and the relentless music didn't help, but we agreed that the $17 cocktails were at least OK. Then the fiasco with the food; of 4 dishes, nothing came out simultaneously. There were shrimp tacos, 2 different sushi, and Korean chicken, each arriving MINUTES after the previous!! My sushi came last, after I had encouraged everyone to eat, and I ate alone!! Our server, Angela, was the ONLY high point. Seriously, she was so apologetic, but nothing was in her control. We were offered complimentary desserts, ordered 2 to share, and only the Lemon Cake was good. Creme brulee was very disappointing. Wish we had walked out!

Yelp
My friends and I were so excited to try this new rooftop to celebrate a birthday, and we were extremely disappointed to say the least. Our waitress acted like taking our orders was a chore from the very start, drinks came out sporadically and slow, but we were willing to give them the benefit of the doubt. Once we ordered our dinner, it got even worse. One persons burger came out first, followed by appetizers, 10 minutes later another dish, 10 minutes later another, and so on. 4 of us ordered sushi rolls and waited 50 minutes for them while everyone else had finished eating their meal. The entire time we are waiting our waitress is no where to be found and clearly avoiding us. I finally managed to call another waitress over to tell them how disappointed we were and how we were ready to leave. The manager ended up comping our food, but unfortunately that was not even enough for us to ever return. Don't let the aesthetic ambiance and rooftop fool you- it is NOT worth your time.
