My friend and I went to Spartan Alehouse for lunch. It was recommended by someone in my neighborhood, so I suggested it to her. When we got there, it wasn't busy. It was about 1pm on a Saturday and there were only 3 other parties in the restaurant. We were not promptly greeted, but perhaps the hostess took advantage of the slowness to get other things done. I suspect the bartender went to let her know someone was waiting to be seated, so it is nice to see the employees working together. The inside is pretty basic. The furnishing wasn't quite as up to date as you would expect of a newer restaurant. Some of the booths already looked a little worn, but it felt clean. Our waiter was very nice. He greeted us with a smile and served us promptly. We ordered the nachos for an appetizer, and they were actually really good. The meat was flavorful and there were enough toppings to coat every chip. For my entree, I ordered the hamburger, which was also good. It may not have been the best burger I have ever had, but the meat had a ton of flavor, and it was very juicy without being underdone. The fries were good as well. They were super crispy and yummy. It is hard to go wrong with fries though. My friend got a wrap. You are able to make any salad they offer into a wrap which is always a great feature. I didn't try it, but she said the wrap was good and the ingredients looked pretty fresh. I didn't get any cocktails as I was pregnant at the time, but my friend ordered something. She was describing what she liked, and the waiter gave some suggestions. She ended up getting the old fashioned, but I loved the way some of their fall drinks sounded (pumpkin white Russian.. yum!). She liked the drink, but thought it was a little heavy on the bitters.
Overall, it was very good, and I wouldn't mind going there again!
