I've seen Speedy's on quite a few top taco lists on Yelp, so I was excited to give it a try. Happy to say the tacos didn't disappoint, and probably went above my expectations!
At first glance, you might double check that you're in the right spot and not think you're at a restaurant, but don't judge a book by its cover. Once you head in, and maze around the entry way, you're greeted by a big opening dining room, a counter to order, and a door to their outdoor patio.
After ordering, we headed out to the patio and grabbed one of the few open tables - this place was poopin'! Seems to be very popular for the tech crowd at lunchtime. The patio was nice and provides a lot of shade. There were also a lot of plants and greenery to take away from the fact that you're right next to a road.
We started with chips and guac, this also came with salsa. The salsa packed some heat without being too too spicy. Guac was good and had some nice avo chunks.
Now the main reason we're here, the tacos! Tacos came two tortillas to each, loaded with meat, salsa, red onion, some cilantro, and a few jalapeños, radish slices, and a lime. I went with the Carne Asada, pulled pork, and al pastor tacos. The carne Asada was probably my least favorite, the meat was tender, but the pulled pork and al pastor were so good and flavorful that they overshadowed this one.
Tacos really were loaded up in the meat department, no skimping here. At ~$3.50 a taco I feel like I was getting a good deal and actually got my moneys worth.
Definitely would come back here, and excited for the next time I do!
