The People Behind Campana and Spella Caffè Are Opening a Portland Gelateria - Eater Portland

"Spella Caffè offers gelato affogato with flavors such as stracciatella, hazelnut, and Campari-grapefruit sorbetto. The cafe is known for its high-quality gelato, originally sourced from Stella Gelato and now made in-house." - Brooke Jackson-Glidden

Portland Restaurants and Bars to Visit During Feast 2018 | Eater Portland

"Step into a tiny, traditional Italian cafe for some caffeination. Andrea Spella serves what is perhaps the best affogato (espresso over ice cream) in Portland, but you can’t go wrong with anything made on the fully manual Rancilio espresso machine. Close to: Pioneer Courthouse Square" - Mattie John Bamman

What a lovely place! A tiny coffee shop that is almost hidden in the downtown scene but you'll definitely keep coming back to it (like me) once you discover it. In a time when coffee shops look fancier and swankier, it's almost refreshing to have such a classic and unique place that sticks to its core, serving people with wonderful coffee, friendly service, and a small but delicious selection of pastries.

Truly one of the best pastries I've had (almond ring). Cappuccino was an actual cappuccino, so if your expecting a late, buy the late. Cappucciono foam was almost merengue like, super tasty. It's a unique stop that I can't wait to get back to.

I seek out Spella whevener I’m in town. This is as close to a European espresso shop as you can likely find in North America. Tiny, stand up sipping. None of this wood paneled 3rd wave coffee where the drinks and decor are the same from Bangkok to Bangor.

I'm on a motorcycle trip across Canada, the US and Mexico and stopped here for coffee. Best almond milk latte I've had since I left Montreal 6 weeks ago. Charming, tiny coffee bar. Super friendly (and incredibly cute) barista. No tables inside but couple of small bistro tables outside.

Such an amazing little cafe... tried their shaken iced espresso and it was really good

Hidden gem in downtown with awesome tasting coffee. I had the latte and the foam was very creamy and the espresso was strong with no bitter aftertaste.

Some of the best coffee I have ever had in my life! I seriously think about this coffee all the time. Each cup has a delicious, gentle taste with perfectly ground beans. It feels like I am drinking authentic European coffee. The resturant itself is very small with minimal seating inside or out. Luckily the coffee tastes great on-the-go too. Expect a decent wait, they make sure each cup of coffee gets the attention it deserves. A must try for any coffee lover and a great place to bring visitors.

Absolutely the best espresso I’ve had anywhere in the US. I attempt to avoid coffee drinks as much as possible- my partner is the coffee person, however, I would love to start everyday with a drink from here. The workers are also always so pleasant and easy to chat with. A true gem here in Portland.
