"This is a casual dining, family-oriented restaurant and bar in the heart of the neighborhood of Spenard. The roadhouse dining room is decked in Alaska kitsch and its menu goes heavy on bourbon, bacon, and tricked-out tots. Offerings include small plates, like deep-fried brussels sprouts, pimento cheese dip with saltines, and mac and cheese as well as sandwiches, soups, salads, burgers, pizza and changing local food specials. The hot honey salmon is a standout and the tomato soup has a following. There are lots of accommodations for vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free diners, and a changing drink menu with lots of fun cocktails and mocktails. The kids menu – which includes a drink, popcorn, dinner and dessert — is one of the best deals in the city." - Julia O'Malley

Google
All 5 stars across the board! I had the Schnitzel dinner, and coming from a person test was raised in a German household, this was as good as I've ever had it! They have a great selection of local brews and I tried an IPA with my dinner and afterwards polished the night off with a top shelf whiskey and it couldn't have been smoother. I really enjoyed my night here and will always be one of my favorite eateries in anchorage.

I came here for lunch one day and their menu has good variety for a lot of different moods. Across the whole table, portions were huge and satisfying, even with just a salad, everybody I was with was happy. I had the Korean rice bowl with shrimp and it was excellent for me -- sweet with a little bit of heat and lots of good flavors. The green curry soup seemed to be another hit dish. I'll happily come back and try more next time I'm around.

Google
Food was just delicious. Hands down one of the best chicken sandwiches. The banana cream pie with bruele bananas totally hit the spot. The service wasn't the greatest, but I would eat there again anytime.

Google
Amazingly delicious! This is now going to be our place to go every time we visit Anchorage. The waitress was very friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. The fried chicken sandwich was the best I've ever had. My husband got the spenard stack, which is sadly not on the menu anymore, but was still able to ask for it. We were only able to eat half before we couldn't take another bite from being so full.

Took myself out to dinner tonight as a bit of a celebration, and landed on a new place to try (in part because I got on the wrong bus). Nicholas was my server, and he was fantastic. I tried the avocado melt with bacon and fries and really enjoyed a nice, flavorful, simple meal. The rhubarbie soda was also very good. 10/10 will eat here again.

Google
Awesome dinner. Ate here twice on our vacation. Great service and large portions of food. I had an amazing fried chicken sandwich. The only thing both times we were there we had a wait time. But it was worth it. Parking is limited. We had to park next door in the bank parking lot.

Google
Stopped by for an early dinner and overall it was good. The pizza and salmon burger were a solid 5/5! However, the halibut fish ‘n chips was a really skimpy meal, which was disappointing and definitely not worth the amount we paid.

Jackie Clark

Google
Our waiter was awesome. The food was fantastic. We ordered a BLT. It's not on the menu, but you can order it. It's delicious. I got the Tomato Basil soup with mine and my husband got the Super Tots and a side salad with his. The soup was delicious also.

Yelp
Spenard Roadhouse is an absolute gem, especially if you're looking for an elevated brunch experience. They seriously have the best Bloody Marys in town--hands down, no contest. It's the perfect spot to kick off your weekend with amazing food, great drinks, and even better vibes. Their support for the LGBTQ+ community is one of the many reasons I love this place--it's such an inclusive and welcoming environment. And I have to shout out Chris, aka "Sweet Tea"--he's my favorite! The kindest, most fun energy, and always makes my visits even more special. Now, let's talk about the food. It's sublime. I can't get enough of their Loaded Tots (seriously addictive), and the Grilled Cheese and Tomato Soup is next-level comfort food--it may sound basic, but trust me, it's amazing. The Mac and Cheese with Chicken and Broccoli is my go-to when I want a small plate turned large--it's hearty, cheesy, and everything you want in a meal. And don't sleep on their Calamari, either--it's so good! Spenard Roadhouse is easily one of my favorite spots in town for brunch and beyond. The food, the drinks, the people, and the vibe--it all comes together perfectly. Highly, highly recommend!

Yelp
We both enjoyed our dinner, I had the halibut spaghetti and my partner had the halibut fish and chips both were great. We sat at the bar and met a nice couple traveling too. The bar tender could have been friendlier and nicer while giving us recommendations on the menu, he eventually warmed up to us :) He was very busy and distracted... The food and drinks were great!

Yelp
Overall: 5/10 Food: 5/10 Service: 5/10 Atmosphere: 5/10 Value: 6/10 Food is editable yet forgettable. Typical diner fare. There was nothing wrong with this place except maybe the service was a bit sporadic. The best thing about this place is that they serve breakfast all day, so that's a plus.

Joanne P.

Yelp
I had the Three Carnitas Tacos and they were absolutely good, well-seasoned andd flavorful with fresh toppings that balanced each bite. The ambiance is relaxing and the servers are attentive and nice. A satisfying and delicious experience highly recommend!

Yelp
We returned to SR on the last night of stay in Alaska. So glad that we did. Sarah made the experience memorable. Five of us ordered Old Fashioneds. Sarah suggested we let the bartender go wild with various bitters, which was a taste treat. That allowed us to zero in on a favorite for a second round. The bartender even came to our table to meet the group who entrusted him with creating unique flavors. Of the five entrees, all were delicious. The halibut sandwich was superb. Shrimp and grits and the jambalaya are both true comfort food loaded with flavor. If you can find a little room for dessert, get the peanut butter pie. It's beyond decadent. And one piece will satisfy at least four people. As was the case in our first visit, great service, good food and just a delightful dining atmosphere and experience. Cheers!

Alexa S.

Yelp
My favorite spot in Anchorage! The service was on point & our server was so nice and personable. The food was so tasty! We had the calamari and Thai chicken lettuce wraps. My mushroom ravioli with added salmon was *chefs kiss* and my bf enjoyed his burger a ton! The bar area looks super cute & I want to come back and sit in there. The Christmas decorations are a nice touch too!

Anni V.

Yelp
We came back to give it a second try, the first time was very good sans 1 meal. The manager was kind enough to send me a gift card for the price of that meal. This time we tried a couple different pizzas. I had m y mind set on the shrimp and grits again but we saw a pizza go by that looked super good so we changed our minds. We had a roadhouse classic and a prosciutto Fig. I went totally out of my comfort zone on the prosciutto fig and I sure am glad I did. What an awesome pizza! The Roadhouse classic was great as well. I'm a fan of thin crust and this was perfect. Our server that night was great as well. No complaints at all, only praise. We will be back.

Sue C.

Yelp
Food is always delish and service is great! Would definitely recommend the roadhouse!

Stay S.

Yelp
5 stars for service and the food was pretty good too. They do stop brekkie on Sundays at 3 and the menu is a bit pricey, but overall we had a good visit.

Kayla C.

Yelp
First of all Wesley was an amazing server. Perfect timing, and friendly. The ocean sticky roll was great. I'd suggest adding ice cream. All of their food was awesome and scratch made. Get the bacon of the month!!

Andres D.

Yelp
Classic all American food is the way to go here. They do a good job, though nothing exceptional and I wouldn't go for anything too outside of diner food (for example, the jambalaya was the worst thing we tried). Roasted veggies were surprisingly nice.

Sheryl S.

Yelp
Always one of my favorite local restaurants to go to. Great food, fun drinks, and good service. Tots are a must!

Erryn D.

Yelp
Bartender was slow with helping us but the food was amazing. We didn't wait long and our food was quick

Jacy J.

Yelp
My family and I have come here two different times and both times were spectacular! The hostess was able to get us seated immediately both times. The waiter was attentive, patient, and checked on us frequently but not overbearing! The food was amazing both times we came, we all ordered different things each time and all the dishes we've tried have not disappointed. It tasted fresh, homemade, and the portions were generous so we felt we were definitely getting our money's worth. Great experiences and we will return again in the future!

Jay C.

Yelp
I had the Korean rice bowl with tofu. My colleagues had salads and a grilled cheese. The food was definitely homey and delicious. My tofu rice bowl - perfect amount of spice and great flavor. I had to post a picture of the menu showing bowl of lucky charms! Love it! Anyone who has kids - this will definitely help. Great experience and definitely recommend.

Laurie B.

Yelp
I stopped in after a local recommended this place.Trendy Alaskan Diner is the feel. Got seated right away and promptly served. I had the bacon of the day. A brussel sprout and bacon salad. I was going to have it as a starter but was full after this so I could t get to try the other great looking burgers and sandwiches that I saw come by my table. Def a great spot to eat in Anchorage.

Mary Y.

Yelp
What a disappointment last night. I brought my friends from out of town to enjoy the local fare and we experienced a mediocre meal. Let's start with dessert, I was hoping it would counteract the blah meal but it actually reinforced the disappointment. Strawberry shortcake. Two 3/4 high small squares of shortcake that hosted maybe one strawberry that had been sliced so thinly one could barely taste it over the nutmeg(?) spice that dominated. The frugal amount of whipped cream on top didn't alleviate the dryness. It left us discussing the need for a strawberry syrup. As for the main courses, we'd ordered sandwiches. The bottom piece of bread on my avocado sandwich became a soggy sponge before I finished the first nearly tasteless half. The bread reminded me of the cheapest brands found on grocery store shelves. The avocado and sprouts were fresh. But for the bacon it really was nothing better than an elaborate yet tasteless BLT. My friend ate half of his Cubana Sandwich and was too polite to say anything about leaving the second half. Probably because I'd talked the place up so much before we arrived. The little girls pizza looked tasty but was mostly a boring crust covered with too strong a taste of Parmesan cheese. There was a tasty sauce located just at the brim of the crust, but if your first bite was the pointy tip, you had to work hard to find the sauce. Yet another dry food experience. My hubby ate his turkey sandwich in silence. He was hungry and usually doesn't critique his food unless it's particularly good. We did have appetizers. I looked forward to the roasted Brussels sprouts which arrived truly blackened. They were so well done, one could hardly find an intact sprout! Just a bowel of salty burnt leaves that managed to visit me long after the meal. And, chewy breaded calamari with a boring dipping sauce. Looking back, I recall being pleased they weren't 'that busy' especially for a Saturday night. Yet, they sat us at the table near the bathroom. I regret my friend's view was people heading to the John, when there were plenty of seats available in the main area. What was I thinking! I could've asked for a nicer seat. The waitress was friendly and I don't think it was her fault that our meal took a rather long time to get to us. We didn't get the 'specials menu' until I inquired after we'd pretty much decided from the main menu. All in all, a waste of hard earned money, an embarrassment of 'local fare' for me to offer to our friend who'd driven 5 hours to our fair city, and a disappointment as in the past I'd always been happy to come there. Oh,...the music! It was a loud heavy beat throughout. Maybe the speaker was directed at us? Very annoying. Now I know why on PFD Saturday night the place was nearly empty. Sadly, the roadhouse has let us down.

Yelp
The halibut spaghettini was divine!!! Order it - you won't regret it!!! This place is popular, has great service, quick, with amazing food!

Joey G.

Yelp
This is one of my favorite restaurants in Anchorage. They nail southern comfort food. The fried chicken and shrimp and grits are amazing. And good beer, to boot.

Jo L.

Yelp
Great service and food! My husband had the Cobb salad and I had the Reuben. Recommend them both. Will definitely be back!

Joshua R.

Yelp
I stop in here every time I'm home visiting family. The food is always delicious and the drinks are always good. Never been here and had a bad experience. Consistently good no matter what ya order. Absolutely gotta check it out when in Anchorage! Great for all meals. Been here for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Always leave satisfied and happy.

Tina V.

Yelp
So much quality and flavor with each dish. My kids said 10/10 for their food-- includes starter, entree, drink, and dessert for $9! I especially liked the chicken tenders breading (yes i ate off of my kids' plates). My wild mushroom ravioli was super tasty.. each bite was perfection and nothing was leftover. Awesome and all around selection of food on the menu. Pleasantly surprised! Also, that bar! Too bad the Bacon of the Month was all out. Wanted to see what the hype was all about, I guess I'll be coming back! Happy to see that through the month of November there's a 10% discount for all service members and their families! Loove it.

Becca S.

Yelp
This is a go to restaurant in Anchorage. I love their monthly specials and brunch! One of my regular orders is the half sandwich combo with avocado melt and salad, add a side of tots with the aioli. The burgers are delicious, the entree salads are huge, and the fried chicken sandwich always looks amazing. I also like their bar options. This is a great crowd pleaser!

Michael D.

Yelp
An Anchorage landmark. I really want to like this place.....Review to follow Great location. Ambiance is super fun. They have a Bacon of the month AND the bar often has Blantons!! The food isn't bad. I'd say it's good. It's not great but not great doesn't mean not good. I allowed (food nerd here) my daughter to try her first Cubano here though I had them hold the BBQ Sauce cause, sorry but, BBQ doesn't belong on a Cubano. It was good. It wasn't little Cuba in Miami but we are in Alaska for heavens sakes. I keep going back. Spenard s is consistent. The Servers are friendly and attentive. Give it a try. They're in Midtown Anchorage so they're close to literally everything

Alexandra B.

Yelp
I've always had great experiences ordering from Spenard roadhouse. My go tos are the Spenard stack (brunch) or the shrimp n grits! So tasty and the portions are generous! Seriously...the shrimp and grits are breathing new life into my SOUL! Perfect for a dreary day.

Taylor N.

Yelp
Highly recommend this restaurant! Food always comes out hot, servers are wonderful, and the food is amazing. I normally always order the spicy green curry but it had no kick to it. I still really enjoyed the flavor. But it also seemed like they skimped on the curry sauce. We loved the calamari. And my boyfriend enjoyed his chicken sandwich.

Abirami K.

Yelp
What an absolute treat! It was nestled in a cute spot and was really charming to see. The place was crowded, but the wait time wasn't bad. I tried French toast and egg benedict. Egg Benedict was out of the world. The right amount of sauces and the perfectly cooked poached eggs made the entire dish outstanding. I will visit in the future whenever I'm going back to Alaska.

Justin F.

Yelp
The Bernard roadhouse in Anchorage is a local classic restaurant. That is a lot of fun and I highly recommend it. Truth be told I rated the three stars out of five based on my hard food judging that restaurants need to pass. I was told that I needed to get the bacon, jam burger and of course because I always do what the locals say and so you should, I got that burger and all in all it was OK. I personally did not like how there wasn't bacon strips or large pieces of bacon it was a bacon type of sauce mix with another sauce on the burger. It made some of the burger soggy, which I did not care for. However, this may just be for this entrée. It may be a few others, overall in the vast amount of entrées that I saw all of them looked great. I also tried the jambalaya and was extremely impressed with the spicy sauce. It was cooked and prepared. They have a rotating IPA and IPA hazy know what you get but that's OK for some adventure. I was glad that they also had a Stout and other options on the menu as well. The menu was average price. One of the best acts about this restaurant is the atmosphere. It's a great place to bring friends kick back and relax. I was really impressed by the local decor that having a cabin type feel to it. The bar set up was very attractive as well. All in all this is a place that I would recommend for anyone to try out in Anchorage..

Dixie D.

Yelp
I have driven by this place for years and never stopped but now it is on my regular beat. I went with a crowd of friends and we all enjoyed the menu. I tried the jambalaya. It was very tasty. Several in my party commented on the enjoyment of being able to order breakfast at lunch. I found the soup of the day tasteless and runny for a cream soup but that is always a gamble. The place is loud and crowded but overall serves great food with the menu being extensive. Definitely a good choice for any time Of the day.

Sarah P.

Yelp
Spenard Roadhouse is a classic in the Anchorage casual dining scene. I've always enjoyed my meals here and the one last weekend was no exception. To start, they always have fantastic cocktails; I had the Rhubarbra Streissand which was delicious and perfect for summer without being too sweet. For a main, I had the Alaskan Seafood Jumbalya, which so good I couldn't put my fork while eating it. The service was a bit slow during this visit, despite the restaurant not seeming packed, which is the only reason for 4 stars. Otherwise, can't recommend Spenard Roadhouse enough!

Kristine Y.

Yelp
Had a great time at Spenard Roadhouse. The experience did live up to ratings. Fast and friendly service. The servers know the menu and are very happy to make suggestions. The ambiance is fun and they offer outdoor eating, which is great on a nice day. This restaurant is quite busy so expect a wait. The downside is the parking. There is just not enough for the crows it gathers. We parked in the adjacent parking lot. Since the businesses were closed during the weekend it seemed okay. Be warned that in the adjacent parking lot there are many homeless living there. :( The food was good portioned and delicious! Definite comfort food at its finest! The menu was a great size. Large enough to be easy to find what you like yet small enough to not get overwhelmed. Overall a great experience!

Loren R.

Yelp
First time here. Ambiance...a little too energetic fir this old guy. It's pretty hip and energetic, might be perfect for you. The service was Exceptionally fast friendly and engaging. Super. Super friendly. My tap beer was pretty flat and not all that cold. I didn't drink it. Salmon great. Except cooked to dry. Sinful Stuffed seafood ravioli. Good...not great. Asparagus ,beets,Brussels. Average to good We'll be back. I think we will give the burgers , sandwiches a shot.

Carrie G.

Yelp
August 2023- still a hit or miss on service and food. Sweet potato tots definitely still my fave and sad I didn't get them this time. I got an espresso martini- good. Try them around town and it's your standard. Drinks are good and they have a wide variety, like their sister restaurants, and the price point is around $14 which is a little overpriced but people pay i guess. Bacon of the month- bahn mi sliders with shredded bacon, pickled veggies, and a potato bun(?) the bun was almost too sweet and it should have been a French bread of some sort. Was fine. You get three small sliders. Caesar salad- they no longer use the big shavings of Parmesan that made their salad stand out. Also no croutons. Weird. Mac and cheese. I feel it was less creamy then I remember and more rich. They put bread crumbs like everyone else and not potato chips like they should. We also got dessert. We got the bourbon chocolate pie. Was not rich at all despite the server saying we need the vanilla ice cream added to cut the richness. Nowhere near the level of a flourless chocolate cake is. Was good with the cherry sauce, the crust was very off though. I think next time I might get the fried chicken I haven't had that. Menu is the same and drinks too. I like that they always have a fresh sheet. Our server took a good while to even greet us. When she came she was forgetful and had a scattered head. Maybe a long night for her. We went on a Friday night and took a walk around the block (to which a random person said you look like you took a wrong turn, I in turn should have yelled back we love spenard!! Haha) They said 25 minute wait and it was only about 15.

Jocelyn F.

Yelp
Love this place. The food and service are always great. Wide selection of options including many vegetarian. Went for brunch and the server went above & beyond letting us know our 8 year old could order a kid-size plate of French toast (instead of large adult-size) AND popcorn for breakfast(!). The gravy this morning was top-notch and a little spicy (perfect). Biscuits are delish and served with delicious freezer jam. Another great experience.

Lindsey P.

Yelp
Spenard Roadhouse continues to be one of my favorite restaurants in town. They recently switched up their menu a bit and it's really good! The Hawaii 4-9 pizza is great. Pineapple belongs on pizza! I was also elated to see they brought their green curry back. It is phenomenal! The bacon jam burger will forever be my favorite elevated burger in town and the beef short ribs are great! For brunch, you also have to try the short rib hash. I consistently have good service here and find the atmosphere pretty cozy. Highly recommend!

Christina S.

Yelp
We tried the fried Brussels because they said everyone loves them and raves about them. We were a little disappointed because they tasted like straight oil and no flavor. But the rest of our food was great! The breading was a little thick on the fish and chips but was still good. Service was great for them being as busy as they were. Restaurant was a good balanced environment for having a bar but still being family friendly.

Taj M.

Yelp
Great stop on our way out of Anchorage. We came at a slightly off time and were seated right away. Lots of light and Alaska inspired decor made the interior interesting and pleasant to spend time in. There was uncovered outdoor seating, but it was lightly raining so we chose to sit inside. Biscuit basket came out quickly and the honey butter was not too sweet. Coffee was great and the staff was quick on the refill. The menu is eclectic with plenty of options that include Alaskan ingredients...they highlight them so they are easy to find. My wife and I tried the avocado melt with tots and the seafood ravioli. Bathrooms were clean and staff were friendly. While we were on one check, they accommodated split checks and larger parties. Bar looks to be fully stocked.

Wendy C.

Yelp
I never used to rate Spenard Roadhouse highly, mainly because i didn't see any french fries on the menu - they're all about tater tots, and I don't like those. I have been back sometimes where they did have french fries, so i know they do have them now. Anyway, we went today, on a spur of the moment decision. It was exactly 5pm, and loads of tables available, and parking spots too, i think we were lucky to be there at that time. We got seated right away. Had to wait a few minutes for a server, who brought us water. Another 10 minutes for another server to take our order - I got the wild mushroom, leek and ricotta ravioli, and he got tacos de carnitas, with super tots on the side, my drink was Innocent Love, and his was Rhubarbie. And the place started rapidly filling up. The drinks were brought over, unfortunately I'd forgotten to tell them to hold the ice, and started getting brain freeze almost immediately. I enjoyed my husband's Rhubarbie more than i enjoyed my Innocent Love, which wasn't sweet enough for me, also i could really strongly taste the basil, and not too much grapefruit. But my ravioli was absolutely delicious, also liberally studded with fresh basil, however it tasted right in the pasta, and the cream sauce was perfectly seasoned, the pasta was perfectly cooked, and the filling delicious. There were 3 carnitas tacos, i asked husband how their carnitas compared to mine (I make carnitas frequently) and he said mine were better, and gave me a taste to show he wasn't just trying to butter me up. I had to agree with him. We both prefer my carnitas. The super tots, though not my favourite style of potato, were nice when dragged through a pool of my leftover cream sauce. He said he wouldn't get the carnitas again. I definitely would get the ravioli again. Superb. And by the time we left, people were stalking parking spots, that's how busy and popular Spenard Roadhouse is, so i would suggest to time your visit perfectly.

Celine B.

Yelp
The food and service were so delicious and great! It was a great ending to my trip in Alaska before going home! It was great that it was close to the airport.

Craig B.

Yelp
A little expensive, but some decent vegetarian options. The Mac and cheese was the hit for me. avocado sandwich had questionable veggies that were borderline past being ok to eat. Super brown Avocado for example. Fries were nothing special but fine. This place borders the vibe of a chain, but not in a bad way. Parking can be tough as the lot is small for the restaurant. Overall go there with your non vegetarian friends as a good compromise, but maybe not worth seeking out

Patricia H.

Yelp
The food was good, my family really enjoyed it. We got a couple of signature drinks that knocked our socks off. The carrot cake was good but not the best we ever had but still worth a try. I got the black bean tostada which were okay i didn't finish it, but I'm not a big black bean Person, but decided to go outside my comfort zone. My sister loved her bacon cheese burger and I'll admit not being a big burger person it was tasty.

Olena V.

Yelp
Best food I've had in Alaska so far - everything was so flavorful and well spiced, especially the mushroom tacos.

Joy L.

Yelp
This was, for a decade around the corner from my home, and it was my escape. I've eaten here more time that I can count. I often didn't check in or take pictures because it was my escape... Spenard Roadhouse is one of those places that has always been a genuine "hipster paradise" as someone called it WITHOUT TRYING. It just comes naturally. Back in the early days of YELP, when I, and people like me were looking for people that for those hidden gems in our community - THIS - this beautiful AUTHENTIC comfortable but hip neighborhood restaurant with excellent, unusual modern food is what we were hoping to unearth. Spenard Roadhouse will always be my first love in Anchorage. It's stepchild, Southside Bistro... it just... tries to hard. Spenard Roadhouse was cool before it was cool to be cool, and the restaurant ages, she/he/they gets more attractive with age.

David H.

Yelp
Another popular restaurant in the greater Anchorage area that was filled to the brim with locals. Their whiskey wall was extremely impressive. Food wise the highlights were the shrimp and grits, the monthly bacon, the turkey Reuben, and the superior highlight is their tator tots. They were cooked and seasoned to perfection. I had the carnitas tacos, and they were ok, a little salty for me, but I was still able to eat them. I seriously would come back here just for the tots.

Jamilett A.

Yelp
Let me start by saying Chris EXCELLENT SERVICE!!! Thank you, you are a spectacular person. The ambiance great, Clean, Fast service and the restaurant full. How does Chris do it?? Came by our table a dozen times ... Love it here. First time visiting and will RETURN THE FOOD WAS GREAT !!

Lucas K.

Yelp
I come up to Anchorage on a monthly basis and I'm always looking for a new place to eat. I ended up at at the Spendard Roadhouse with a couple co-workers and was pleasantly surprised to see a comfortable interior that was very busy. Always a great sign! Two of us ended up getting the Fried Chicken Sandwich, which is a must! This perfectly battered and fried chicken breast came with honey bacon, lettuce, pickles, and a housemade mayo on a ciabatta bun was perfect. Another co-worker had the Fried Chicken Dinner which looked and apparently tasted equally as good. With other menu items like the bacon of the month, their pizza's, and bourbon I will certainly make it back here. These service here was extremely friendly as well. If you find yourself in Anchorage and are in the need for some great comfort food and a cocktail, give the Spenard Roadhouse a try. You won't be disappointed!

Jezebelle H.

Yelp
Visited Spenard Roadhouse with my husband for brunch this past Sunday. We just moved back to Alaska with our 3 little ones, but had a morning to ourselves as we finished unpacking/moving into our house while they were with a family friend, so we decided to treat ourself to an outing. The veggie Benedict did not disappoint, and the ghost pepper Bloody Mary was probably one of if not THE best I've ever had. I love a nice kick, and that bloody really did it for me. Also, the house pickled green bean garnish was delish!! Hubby got some sort of avocado sandwich that he killed in what seemed like 3 bites! This was probably our favorite spot we've had the pleasure of visiting since we moved back. We will definitely be bringing the kids by for some more brunch or dinner sometime soon! Thanks, Spenard Roadhouse!!!

Yelp
Excellent menu choices of Contemporary Comfort food: wide variety available all day, lots and lots of healthy gourmet flavor combos, top level service from staff. This is top shelf for casual dining. Outstanding and so glad we dined here!

Yelp
I ordered dinner online for my husband and I and went into the restaurant to pick it up. The parking lot was completely full so I parked along the curb since I wouldn't be long. I think the parking lot on the other side of the fence is overflow parking but I wasn't sure. I ordered the Mediterranean salad with extra of the lemon basil vinaigrette. I really enjoyed my salad! It had tons of toppings and the dressing really went well with it. I shared an appetizer order of the fried brussel sprouts. Super yummy! My husband tried to keep it plain tonight since he wasn't feeling great. He ordered the fried chicken sandwich but subbed it out for grilled chicken which was a menu option. He opted for the side of tots. He enjoyed his meal. He also ordered a side house salad with the lemon basil vinaigrette. It really is ridiculous that they charged eight dollars for this tiny little salad. A few bucks too much for sure! I ordered a slice of the carrot cake for dessert which looks delicious. I am totally writing this review before I try it but I have high hopes for it. The host who greeted me was super friendly and checked on my order when I arrived. She said it would be a few more minutes so I stood in the lobby reading advertisements on the wall. She brought my order out moments later when it was ready. The restaurant appeared clean and inviting. The decor seemed fun. I would have liked to dine in but my togo experience was just as great.
