Just found out about this spot today. Trying to find more local coffee spots. The coffee they use is amazing. Drinks were ready super fast and there was no wait. A decent amount of space to come and hang out and talk. Staff was all overly friendly which is very nice and welcoming. It is not generic corporate script "Welcome in" without looking at you. Some wonderful people working here and a wonderful mission. Thank you for the awesome drinks and the friendly smiles we will definitely be back soon.

Great coffee shop for a great cause! Love that they have tons of GF options in their case. They almost have fun like toys for kids and local merchants clothes and jewelry displayed. V cool place!

Delicious coffee and tasty baked treats, including an impressive variety of gluten-free options. I had the latte flight of some “Christmas in Summer” offerings: Hula, Mint Chocolate, Sandy Beach, and Christmas Cookie. The service was friendly and the atmosphere was nice.

This place is really cool, the service is amazing, the drinks are really good the food it’s not bad but they can improve, the services is really fast. I recommend this place!

Everything is amazing here! They can customize the drinks how you like. We have tried the mochas, the regular coffee, a few of the bakery items and everything has been 5 / 5. The environment is so relaxing and beautiful..... I have been looking for a replacement coffee shop since my usual place changed their coffee recipe and I found a definite replacement at Spencer's! They recently celebrated their 4th anniversary and opened a second location nearby as well. The front doors were wide open on a beautiful Arizona spring day, and Racquel and Heidi greeted me with big, friendly smiles. I was eyeing the pastries on the counter when Racquel started talking to me about the pop tarts. I decided to have one, and she recommended I have her warm it up. It was like eating a warm peach cobbler... comfort food. Heidi walked me through different drinks and helped me decide on one of their specials this month. The sign board of specials changes theme with each month, and being that it was April, the theme was all blue drinks in honor of Autism Awareness month. I enjoyed my berry breeze botanical with lotus natural energy and added coconut milk. It was bright and refreshing...thank you Heidi. As I was taking photos and video of the shop, Racquel continually smiled and waved. She came over to check on how I liked my order, and we got to chatting. She even walked me over to show me her portrait on the wall of staff caricature photos. Her energy was so positive and electric, and it really was much needed light in my day. The majority of the customers left with the baristas waving goodbye and saying their name. So the shop obviously has loyal customers. Raquel definitely made me feel special when I left as she remembered my name and gave me a big smile to go.

They have coffee flights that change fairly often and I love to bring g my girls and mom friends here to try them all. The location is clean and fun. There are toys for kids, pastries from Suss Pastries a local baker and I’m obsessed with the pop tarts. Service is awesome and it’s one place that feels like home.

Spencer's Place, a second home. Outstanding staff who always greet you with a heart warm and welcoming smile. A very stylish ambiance that's perfect for your local study spot, or if just looking to catch up over some coffee. Offering tons of sweets that all seem to be locally made, a standard drink menu, and a monthly rotating menu as well to switch things up a bi. My Fiance and I fell in love with this place since the first day we stepped through their doors, and strongly urge you to give this place a try if you haven't done so as you won't be let down.

Can't believe I've never been here before, especially when it's so close by! I love the mission behind this coffee shop and how inclusive they are to people with disabilities. They have a variety of different menu options alongside their seasonal selection. I tried their rusty spur latte, which did not disappoint! The blackberry flavor complemented the richness of the coffee very well, and was super refreshing. There were a ton of GF and sugar free sweet options available. They're located right next to sanity salon which appears to do collabs with Spencer's place. For June, they're offering a $65 enzyme facial with a complementary refresher from Spencer's!

My wife and son love this place. This is one my my wife's favorite coffee shops in the west valley. I am not much of a coffee fan, but I really enjoyed how bright and smiling all the employees were and the interior of the building is very welcoming and smells wonderful. I recommend a stop by if you are in the area.

After hearing about their mission, I always make it a point to support local businesses plus they have some interesting coffee creations and served in a coffee flight to sample a few. My mother-in-law really likes this place, so we came here on her suggestion! This is sort of a big deal because she rarely likes to buy coffee out. She likes brewing it at home. :) On the way there, I Yelped it and was thrilled to read that it had a five star average rating. It was a Tuesday morning around 10AM. We were immediately greeted pleasantly by a young woman cleaning the tables outside. Once inside, we saw that it was pretty busy. There was a mixed bag of all ages, individual and in small groups. The decor is warm and inviting. I saw from the photos on Yelp that there were coffee flights. I'm glad I saw that because I didn't see it anywhere on the menu. I asked the person at the register about it (who, by the way, was super friendly, helpful, and overall very pleasant) and she said they absolutely do have flights and pulled out a tray that had pre-made flavors (see my photos!) I ordered one as iced. The flight was super cute and so fun to try. I'm not a flavored coffee type of gal, so this was a nice way to try flavors I might not have ordered as a full size. My daughter and I shared the flight and each did a rating in order of which we expected to like in what order and also in order in which we actually liked them. Silly, I know, but again, this was so fun. My mother-in-law ordered a chai latte which she really likes. She does not like it really hot, so we asked if we could order it warm and they said absolutely. We also ordered a couple of pastries which were fine. I ordered a toasted plain bagel with cream cheese. There was a lot of cream cheese in it, but that's not a big deal because I just scooped some aside. Everything was good and the service was outstanding. I read while in the shop and also saw on their website that they employ adult persons with intellectual and developmental disabilities. As a former special education teacher, I love love love this. Five stars for Spencer's Place!

My bf says this is his favorite chai in the valley! Nice, spicy, and much like a coconut curry. I look forward to each time I get my iced coconut matcha!

What a fun find! The mission behind this place is definitely near and dear to my wife's heart, she's a nurse. The fun vibes and eclectic seating options made the feel of the place so special. We also can't say anything bad about the food and beverages - they were delicious (try the sourdough blueberry coffee cake!). Also service with a smile from staff who love what they are doing!! By the time we left the line was out the door and we can definitely see why! Can't wait to be back. If you're near by don't miss this place, it's a special one!

LEMONADE FLIGHT You need this in your life... and Spencer's in Surprise has it! Four glasses, four flavors and FOR you this summer! Lavender Blue Raspberry Blood Orange which tastes like a creamsicle with that heavenly foam on top! Desert Pear We wish we could tell you which one was our favorite and we'd order again... but truth is... they were all delicious. The right mix of sweet and sour and oh so refreshing on a hot Arizona summer day! We actually split them and downed them in seconds. We could have easily ordered and enjoyed it solo, but it was fun to share and taste test! We enjoyed the flight outdoors on their patio today because the inside was packed with Saturday morning meet ups, but the service is fast, staff are friendly and the atmosphere is energizing!

This place is truly wonderful. I've come twice now since I've been in town and everything I've tried has been so good. They have a nice selection of drinks and food. The service is quick and efficient. The staff is very friendly. The store is clean and well organized too. I really enjoyed the crème brûlée latte I had.

While visiting my son and daughter-in-law they told me about this place and then took me there for breakfast. What a delight! We were greeted by lots of friendly welcoming faces. When they heard that I hadn't been before, I was treated to a quick rundown of the menu and the specials. We all chose our drinks and food and it came out accurately and cheerfully. I picked the blueberry coffee cake but was tempted by the cinnamon roll. Everything was delicious and the atmosphere just made me happy. Well done Spencer's Place!

Mom and I decided to try a new spot for coffee and came across Spencer's Place. This place was FANTASTIC! The coffee, food, and customer services was refreshing. While we were there, the Mayor of Surprise stopped by with his team to present Spencer's Place with an award. We will return.

My husband and I visited here once for coffee and pastry. My latte was good but the packaged peach danish was bready and had thick dough. We visited on a Thursday, a children's story day. The store had lots of little toddlers and the atmosphere was festive. The shop offers a huge list of lattes and flavored drinks. The house coffee was medium or dark roast, which was good. They offer egg sandwiches but they are premade and then heated up. I wouldn't go here for the food. Spencer's Place was very busy with mothers and kids, at least on the day we visited.

Spencer's place is an awesome shop that employees those that are differently abled. I was greeted with a "hello!" When we walked in. It's a cute little shop tucked away behind Bashas. They have all of your standard drinks and specials as well. We ordered 2 drinks, snickers and a white mocha latte and a cinnamon roll. The drinks were really good!! The cinnamon roll was great once heated up. I definitely need to stop in again and would more often if it was closer! Keep up the great work!!

Overall: 5 Food: 4.5 Beverage: 5 Service: 5 Ambiance: 4.5 The peach poptart had a super tasty filling - almost like a mini slice of peach pie. My drink order consisted of an Iced Milkway Latte and a Strawberry Iced Tea. The latte was as advertised - very sweet and hit the spot. The iced tea was delicious because it was light and refreshing - didn't taste artificially flavored. The staff was super nice and I overheard management requesting their team members pay extra attention to ensure accuracy in future orders - it was done in a respectful and constructive manner and that kind of leadership will have me coming back! Inside the shop is nice and clean. Their side patio is awesome! We decided to sit in front as we brought a 10 week old pup and didn't want to disturb the other customers. I did a little more research on Spencer's Place and they actually have a really cool message behind them too. I originally dragged my girlfriend here as my name is Spence, but I was pleasantly surprised by every aspect of the shop. Will definitely be back!

Wow. I wish I had a Spencer's Place near me! This is definitely the type of coffee shop I can see myself coming to multiple times a week for a pick me up. From the service to the lattes themselves, everything was really great. I also love their mission to provide training and skill development to those with intellectual and development disabilities. Everyone working here was so sweet and always had a smile on their faces. Stopped by for a latte when I was in town visiting and friend and ended up with a flight. I like how they switch out their flights monthly. Out of the four I tried, my favorites included To the Moon and Back as well as the Creme Brulee. I liked how they weren't super sweet and had just the right amount of espresso on them. Flights are definitely a must when you visit Spencer's Place!

What an awesome place! You can tell they're well loved because they were packed. Seemed that there were lot of regulars, which is always a good sign. I had a tea (I wasn't a fan of the flavor but I went out of my box & tried something new) I'll definitely be back to try other teas because they have so many options. It usually takes me a bit to find what tea I like at each place. They have so many coffees alternative options as well. Along with that they offer pastries, sandwiches, bfast burritos, & I saw a lot of gluten free options. I tried the date & brown sugar pop tart and it was so good! The #1 thing that makes this place stand out is they employ people with special needs & I think it's such an amazing thing to do! Everyone on staff was very friendly & helpful.

I had the crème brûlée coffee and we bought an assortment of baked goods the lemon raspberry cake and the cinnamon roll both were yummy and the staff were all so friendly!

2 stars for very friendly staff! Unfortunately bagel was inedible and I threw almost the whole bagel with eggs into garbage. Bacon was half raw, bagel was cold and egg looked like solidified vomit (I was afraid to even try it). Lemonade was pure sugar. Wasted $12 - will never go there again.

We absolutely love Spencer's Place!! They partner with our church and we were able to go and try them out for the first time after we were gifted a gift card to come get a free cup of coffee. We have now been several times and it is certainly a place we make a point to stop in to if we are in the neighborhood. Their flights of coffee are super cool and fun- deff get one! The cinnamon rolls that they have up my the register are to die for!! Service is never anything less than amazing. The staff have beautiful hearts and souls and the warmest happiest smiles. I love supporting small local businesses and will be a lifetime supporter of this establishment and all of the good that they do and love that they show the Lord's children.

I came in to get an iced latte and a quick lunch sandwich. They told me that they didn't have food anymore, I assume they sold out of everything, and it was like 2:00 so thats understandable but still sad. The issue I have is that they only offered single-use plastic for their cold drinks, even if we were drinking them in the cafe, they didn't offer any glassware or mugs to use. This is an issue because single-use plastic is horrible for the earth, and I'd rather not spend my money somewhere than use a plastic cup. If they changed this, I would consider returning :)

I've been following them since I first heard of their opening in Surprise, and today my daughter and I made the trek. Such a cute and cozy place. It was nice to see them quite busy on a Wednesday morning, yet they were still faster than chain places. Lots of drink choices, plenty of bakery items (a delivery came while we were there) and plenty of seating. Stop in and show them some love.

Special in so many ways! Delicious coffee and pastry (the cinnamon rolls were fantastic) with sweet ambiance that would be a 5 star stop no matter what. But as a bonus, Spencer's employs several folks with developmental and intellectual disabilities. Special needs employees are in all rolls from the kitchen to the register. Needless to say, it was service with a smile all around!

Awesome staff! Super friendly! Delicious coffee in 3 sizes. The decor was beautiful done! The turtle coffee was perfect as well as the strawberry pop tart. The blueberry scone unfortunately was not sweet at all and the apple fritter was just the dough no apples. All the Pastries can be heated up as well. Overall the staff was friendly, knew all the regulars by name!!! Must stop if u want delicious coffees!!

This isn't your ordinary coffee shop. Serving the community by hiring and training special needs adults. We actually were there on pay it forward day with each person in line doing just that! Such a cute little coffee shop. They are in the Bashas shopping center. Far left of the strip around the side facing east toward Marley Park. For regulars its a place where "Everybody knows your name...and they're always glas you came..." This mom and pop Cafe is a "Coffee Shop that employs individuals with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities." Jobs for those with disabilities are not so easy to find! This a definately a communty supporting based business. Everyone who works here is so welcoming and provides great service. The drink possibilities are endless here! They are always coming up with creative yummy drinks! Right now they have a coffee flight Thanksgiving board with 4 pie drinks! Omgee! They had plenty of gluten free baked goods here today to try! We started the day getting pur tots a gf strawberry poplars and a banana chocolate chip muffin. First off the service is amazing and top notch from the moment you walk through the doors. Greetings and smiles welcome you to this cozy coffee place. I felt welcomed and appreciated as a customer. I had the cold brew with sweet cream. It was delicious and definitely woke me up. The pastries all look delicious and they have Gluten Free options!! I had a cinnamon roll which was very tasty!

Great coffee and fantastic customer service! All the workers, even the young people, were diligent and not on their phones or just socializing. The pastries all looked incredible, but my wife and I did not try one. Maybe next time!

Spencer's Place is a cozy coffee shop in Surprise. It's clean and inviting. Their flights of coffee are yummy and fun, and can be made hot or cold - they have non-dairy (oat milk or almond milk) and decaf options available if needed. The pastries were beautiful and tasty. Most importantly, and the prime reason why I visited, they have a beautiful mission, it is so wonderful to see the people they are training working there with a smile on their faces, and that alone makes it worth it to go.

My favorite place for a grande decaf caramel Frappuccino with light whip. I also like their homemade pop tart. They have about 6 different flavors. I have them warm it up so it's easy to cut into with a fork. I come here once every 5 weeks when I have an appointment in the area. The staff are kind, always willing to assist, and want to learn to do a job well done. You won't be disappointed if you go here soon. Make sure you call first to see how busy they are.

The best coffee shop in the valley!!! They now have two shops, one in the little shopping center on Waddel and Reems and the other on cotton and Greenway next to Goodwill. Great service a variety of great coffees and the owner hires individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. A super place for your coffee

They allowed using part of the place as a recording studio for a talk show that literally there is no way you can talk to your friend, hear others, or listen to your own headset. This is very inconsiderate of others. I can't trust this place to plan and come and see there is a live show with loud talk and music.

My friend saw this on a video list of best kid friendly coffee shops in the valley so today we went to check it out with her young daughters! I will say the play area was smaller than we expected but not a problem. This place is awesome, they employ people with intellectual and developmental disabilities, and as a speech language pathologist who sometimes works with that population, I love to see it! Service was really good, super friendly people working here and they helped us out when my friends daughter knocked a drink over on the carpet. I got a cold brew with oat milk and butter pecan, my friend got a brown sugar iced latte, and got a muffin for her older daughter. We both really liked our drinks! Definitely a welcoming vibe in here too and surprisingly busy for a Tuesday morning which I think shows how great this place is. Definitely worth a visit if you're on the west side and in need of a caffeine fix!

Spencer's Place was the perfect start to our morning. The staff was exceptional, and the standout for me was Raquel! The coffee was well made and the pastries are exquisitely beautiful and scrumptious to eat. We will be back here next time we are in surprise, we've found a lovely place with such amazing energy.

What a great place. I'm visiting Suprise again and am bummed that I had not found this place earlier. Friendly staff, legit local vibe, excellent mission, and yes, great coffee. WiFi, plenty of seating, and enough power outlets. As long as the in-laws are living here, I'll be back again.
