Omg a gourmet chef/foodies dream place! Super friendly staff! Wide variety of spices that's relatively affordable for the city! Defiantly recommend!

There was a mix up with my shipped order and the staff at Spice Ace were so professional and apologetic about the delay in getting my correct order. I appreciated their sincere hand written postcard once my order arrived. The variety of spices is truly incredible and I've enjoyed playing around with both single spices and blends. A great place to branch out and try something new. Highly recommended.

I shopped at Spice Ace during a visit to San Francisco and was really impressed with the quality of the products - and with the fact that it is possible to taste everything before one buys. There is so much to taste! I liked the spices so much that I ordered dozens for Christmas gifts. The staff was so extremely helpful, packed everything so well, and even included boxes and beautiful ribbons. Don't miss out on some of the unusual products like the rasberry powder (great sprinkled on yogurt and dusted on chocolate) and the Nob Hill seasoning (it makes everything it touches better).

I arrived at Spice Ace right at opening, and they were a little slow to open, but very friendly as my friend and I came in. At least two people asked if we needed any help (but weren't overbearing by any means) and one of them noted the signage for us and explained the alphabetization of the spices. Given the extremely wide variety (which is great!) of spices, the organization was stunning! I was buying spices for making my won curry powder mixes, and everything I needed was easily found. The chile selection was very nice along with the spices. I didn't need any salts, but the selections looked quite extensive. The pricing on each and every jar was very easy to find (even though I wasn't keeping count), and the sampler jars (black lids) — for smelling or tasting with disposable spoons — were available, even though I didn't use them. After having been to Spice Ace, however, I suspect I will not be shopping my grocery store's spice rack anytime soon.

I first walked into Spice Ace after a Sunday Service up the street on Fillmore. I was going to catch the bus a few stops down when I passed by this place, there was a stand outside advertising 45 percent off everything inside. So I went and I met the owner a tall eager woman. She introduced herself and proceeded to tell me about her shop, it was the second day they had opened. I was overwhelmed with the huge selection of organic and non organic spices, chilis, extracts, powders, herbs that she showed me, I don'y know if this still holds truth but she also offered to personally acquire any spices they don't have for me. I thought damn this place looks nice and fancy, they prices are going to be insane, but no the prices are reasonable, the quality of the products are very good. I don't know how often they rotate the spices but it all seems pretty clean and well managed. I have gone back over and over because I love their products and they have very good customer service, there is also a gentleman now who actually knows a thing or two about cooking, he can help you out if you don't know how to use a certain substance. I've gone back to Spice Ace quite a lot and I always recommend them to my colleagues. What they are doing here at spice is is quite revolutionary, putting all those spices in one place at a reasonable price, I would stop by and see what your spice rack needs...Check it out you'll love Spice Ace. P.S. They did not receive an excellent mark because they didn't explain how often they do rotate their products, also they should have a system of categorizing their products it's kind of confusing but they know where everything is they can point it out to you, and some things are kind of expensive, not excessively but a little. The products are still good quality you get what you pay for. Either way they are good and friendly and offer a great selection and quality Alejandro Rodriguez-Garcia Chef at Eden Villa San Francisco

Absolutely my favorite addition to Lower Pac Heights in the last 3 years. Olivia is welcoming and incredibly knowledgeable. I've learned to much about spices over the last year thanks to her expertise and selection. For $3, you walk out excited to test out a new flavor/ethnic dish or thrilled to pitch your old generic cinnamon and drastically enhance your next latte or baked good. So reasonably priced, small jars so you always have the freshest spices & extensive selection. Even if you just walk in for salt & pepper, their expertise and eagerness for you to discover what salt is your new personal favorite - it will blow you away and keep you coming back for more. I finally purchased salt & pepper mills from their hand curated selection, very good choice - a kitchen staple I'd highly recommend. Tell your cooking friends, this spice store is a MUST.

This neighborhood store on Steiner between Post and Sutter is a gold mine of spices. The prices are really reasonable, the spices and herbs are so much fresher than the grocery store and staff is friendly and helpful. We have purchased some very interesting peppers there, hard to find Peruvian aji chile. They also have some amazing flavored sugars. There are sample jars you can taste and smell for every item. It's a great place.

The go-to place to get all of your spices. Like, all of them. From truffle sea salt to vanilla-infused sugar. A million different kinds of peppers and curry powders all packaged in a clean, signature Spice Ace container. The store is well lit and well decorated and I have to appreciate the excellent branding and execution of this small business. The owner is often the one tilling the cash register as well and you can definitely see the passion she has for preparing and discovering her products. There are little sample spoons and baskets so you can try and toss it in your basket for however many spice jars your budget allows, plus, it's dog friendly. I toted my pup there and they were more than happy to accomodate him with a basket and some special attention.
