How to Spend a Staycation in Atlanta | Eater Atlanta

"For brunch I make my way to Suzanne Vizethann’s blue house in Buckhead, where I try standout dishes like hot chicken and grits with Benton’s smoked bacon, the fried green tomato, bacon, and pimento melt with fresh-cut fries, or the folded egg frittata with mushroom confit, roasted tomatoes, and Grana Padano; I always order the biscuit basket to share (blueberry-basil jam, red pepper jelly, and local Banner butter) and consider sides like sawmill gravy or cornbread muffins with spun honey — reservations recommended." - Su-Jit Lin

Went there earlier this year and I had a great dining experience. It was a Monday night and not busy so the bar and kitchen service was attentive and quick. I thoroughly enjoyed my meal and drinks! The chef even came out and took the opportunity to talk to the patrons. They did have hookah available as well. I was hoping to go back soon, but see they're temporarily closed - hope that changes because it could be a gem!

The food was good. The service was good. I didn't like sitting next to a table that was smoking hookah. I don't smoke and the smoke kept floating to our table. The restaurant was spacious and clean. There is ample parking at the Home Depot lot behind the building. We stopped a security guard to ask about parking. You could also valet in the parking deck. There are signs in the deck for the retail shops in the building saying you can park there if you are a patron, but the security guard said the signs were not being used. There are also signs in the Home Depot lot warning you not to park there. I would definitely ask about parking as the signs were confusing. The menu does not have a lot of food items on it and it says no substitutions, however, when I ordered the burger I was told they did not have shredded oxtails so the burger would not have that on it. Did I still want it? No. So, they can make substitutions, but you can't. Our server, Keemauri, was pleasant and accommodating. She did offer to make substitutions for us if needed. She said it would depend on what it was. The offer was kind. My friend got the oxtails and chicken egg rolls. I got seafood dip and veggie delight with shrimp. We both enjoyed our food. It took over thirty minutes to be prepared, but was hot and flavorful. We both agreed the egg rolls needed a dip. They were good, but that would have made them better. The seafood dip with homemade pita chips was awesome. My veggie delight was bland, but okay. I wouldn't get it again. I used the bathroom and it was not okay; towels on the floor, the toilet was actively leaking, and the floor and toilet were wet. It was a cute bathroom; decorated nicely with pretty rocks in the sink. It just needed to be e cleaned. There were two DJs on the night we went and both were really good. The music wasn't too loud either. We wanted dessert, but they don't have any on the menu. We shared a 16 ounce bottle of their homemade rum punch. It was really good.

Stopped in on a Sunday, the place was surprisingly empty. We were seated quickly by our amazing host/waitress. The appetizer and entree was amazing, and again the customer service was excellent. The only thing that bothered me was the hefty gratuity placed on my bill at 16 dollars, nevertheless I still tipped nice because it was an overall great experience

Me and my husband went here for our Valentines weekend dinner!! I gave this place a five star review because of the customer service, the food and the vibes!! The only downside I will say is it took us an hour just to get our food, including the appetizer! I was told that their kitchen was very backed up which I understand but because of that it put a bad taste in my husband’s mouth and he doesn’t wanna go back to this place because of that. Hopefully they can get some more kitchen staff because for us to be “first timers” at this restaurant it didn’t really sit too well with us having to wait that long. Our waiter was amazing at keeping us updated on what was going on the whole time though!! I’m not sure what the young man’s name is but he did amazing!! Overall, this place is a 10 out of 10!! The DJ had all the GOOD MUSIC playing!! 🙌🏽

Updates: I've been here 2 additional times and gotten the jerk chicken rasta pasta and asked for it extra spicy. It is definitely spicy but wow it's delicious. They were out of rum punch this last time but the mango mojito is a really solid choice as well. Every experience has been A+, it's tough to find food like this anywhere. GREAT time. Servers are awesome. Get the rum punch 100%. The jerk chicken was excellent, but it wasn't very spicy sadly. The server told me that if you ask for it spicy, you'll get it spicy - would recommend. Great vibes, great service, great food. Some of the most flavorful rice and beans and veg I've ever had. A little pricey, but 100% worth it!

Good food and the atmosphere is a vibe! We did valet for $10. The sampler appetizer was good. The seafood dip was excellent with the pita strips. Plantains were juicy inside and crisp on the outside. We ordered the turkey wings and the rasta pasta with oxtail and jerk chicken. They were both good options. The jerk chicken on the pasta was top tier. They offer hookah but we don't smoke.

My wife and I visited Spice House for our anniversary. The ambiance was nice. Nice music and quick service. Drinks were delicious. Had the Turkey Wings with the black rice. Turkey Wings needed more seasoning and loved the black rice. Rasta Pasta was really good as well as the Jerk Egg rolls. Only thing I need them to do is update the menu on their site as it is not the same as the menu in the restaurant.

This restaurant is amazing! We went on a Tuesday and was greeted and seated right away. We decided to sat outside and it was perfect. The green tomatoes were yummy. The Rasta Pasta was perfectly cooked, not too spicy. I choose to have no meat. The tropical seafood paradise is not only aesthetically pleasing but also delicious! They have hookah if you like. The service was great! I have no complaints and will be returning to try other things here.
