9 Flavorful Indian and South Asian Restaurants in Denver - Eater Denver

"This cozy, dim-lit Sunnyside spot (which recently opened a second location at 3100 E. Colfax) takes some liberties on its lengthy menu; note, for instance, the nontraditional use of salmon in a smattering of dishes, or the occasional nod to U.K.-style Indian food. That’s all part of the fun. Try the pani puri — paper-thin wafer shells that crack open like eggs for filling with mint water and a sort of chickpea-potato relish — and the pungent shrimp aachari." - Ruth Tobias

The Vegetarian’s Guide to Dining Around Denver - Eater Denver

"Opened by a few friends in 2017, a collection of family recipes combine with a fascination with vegan, vegetarian, and gluten-free cooking to produce one of Denver’s most vegetarian-friendly Indian dining experiences. Even the traditional saag paneer can be made vegan with a tofu substitute upon request. The sweet potato masala is a crowd pleaser, as is the mushroom saag." - Eater Staff

Google
We were looking for some good Asian authentic cuisine on our way back down from the slopes in Breck. Google recommend this restaurant. Coming from Texas, this place is pretty good in terms of taste, quality and service. Highly recommend this place. Our server Sobi was great! She has great customer service skills. Will be coming back whenever we are back in town.

Google
Cozy neighborhood spot with lots of charm and delicious flavors. The staff were friendly and warm. I had a masala lemon lime soda, which is like a sparkling lemonade with lovely added spice, unlike any drink I’ve had before. For dinner, classic lamb korma with butter naan. Large portions and everything was delicious. Will absolutely be back here on my next trip to Denver.

Google
Came here for a birthday dinner with 8 people, they were able to give us a reservation and were very attentive throughout the entire meal. Food and drinks were both delicious. Would definitely recommend to anyone looking for authentic Indian food with pleasant atmosphere and a large menu. I’ve been to the location on Colfax as well, they are consistently delicious.

I came here for a birthday dinner with my Indian family, and we all loved it here, which isn't easy! Honestly some of the best curry dishes we've had at an Indian restaurant! They had all our favorite classic dishes and more so everyone was happy. The servers and owners were incredibly sweet and attentive, and all smiles from the minute we walked in to when we left. Highly recommend!!

Google
My husband and stopped in here for a late lunch after a spa day around the corner at Indulgences Day Spa. I am not usually a huge Indian food fan, but Spice Room was outstanding. Everything tasted fresh, was served quickly and was very tasty. I had never had Korma and the vegetarian version was excellent. We both raved about the naan, as well as the biryani. The restaurant was clean, nicely laid out and the service was great. Very impressed with Spice House. Would definitely go back next time I am in Denver!

Google
First time here and the food was absolutely amazing! The honey curry is a wonderful sweet flavor with a hint of heat. Our server was attentive and took care of me and my wife promptly and answered all our questions about the menu. I will definitely come back again!

Google
We are so lucky to live near the best Indian restaurant in Denver. The staff are great. The menu is getting more and more exciting. Today we had spicy chicken 65, amazing jackfruit curry and the outrageously good sweet and savory garlic naan. You have to try it.

Google
This Nepali Restaurant was on top of the Google searches when we visited the Denver Area. The experience fell short of the expectations due to multiple reasons: 1. The restaurant lighting was so bad and it felt like we were in a dark room with yellow lights. 2. The music selection was created headache honestly. 3. The seating can be improved as well. And now most importantly the food: 4. The food was extremely spicy and it was filled with red chilli powder. The service was really nice with the people who managed the customers being courteous. That was the reason why they get 5 stars for service.

Yelp
I just tried this place for the first time and it was great! Definitely a local independent restaurant and you can tell how much passion and care they put into the food and service. Get ready to be overwhelmed by yummy sounding options, just be sure to order the naan! Don't be turned off by the converted diner building, this place is the real deal!

Yelp
The Spice Room did it again-amazing Indian food! We ate way too much went to bed extra full but when the food is that good how do you stop? The chicken Shahenshah is our favorite dish and we always get that with naan and we've started getting the french fries because french fries and curry is just an unbeatable combination. I'm a big fan of their Chana saag and the sag paneer also very good. In fact I've never had a bad meal there. Lately we order all of our spice room online and pick it up and eat it at home and I've been really impressed by their commitment to using sustainable packaging. Everything almost everything that they use is compostable, which is amazing.

Yelp
From the moment I parked my car, I knew Spice Room was going to be good. The delightful aromas wafted out of this little gem and floated in the air! The dining room is warm and inviting, casual and comfortable. Service is excellent. Our meal was very good, priced well, and was served in pretty dishes. We wish there was more sauce in our food. The chicken dishes were a tad dry.

Yelp
I love spice room! Their food is so flavorful and delicious. I ordered the tikka masala & momo soup. The momo soup was AMAZING - perfect for a cold day. The service was great, we had multiple people check on us and even say "see you back here tomorrow" as we left which was cute. Can't wait to go back!

Yelp
Spice Room is my favorite Indian food in Denver! I enjoy both takeout and dining in. They have quick and friendly service and tons of great options. I love all the curries but my favorites are the aloo saag and paneer makhini! Their naan is not my favorite as it's often hit or miss.

Yelp
My experience at this Indian restaurant was nothing short of a culinary disaster, marking a new low in my global quest for good food. As a frequent traveler and a fervent admirer of Indian cuisine, I've come to expect a certain level of quality and authenticity. Unfortunately, this establishment not only fell short but managed to redefine tastelessness. From the moment I entered, it was evident that this place would be a letdown. The waiter, seemingly oblivious to the nuances of the dishes on the menu, failed to provide any helpful insights or recommendations. This lack of knowledge set the stage for what would be an utterly disappointing dining experience. Our order included the staple yellow dal, a dish that should be a straightforward testament to the flavors of Indian cuisine. However, what arrived at our table can only be described as a culinary crime. I pointed out to the server that we had ordered yellow dal, and his response was baffling--he claimed the dark brown concoction before us was, in fact, yellow. I was left speechless, grappling with the audacity of such a claim and the blatant disregard for authenticity. The methi malai mushrooms, a dish known for its rich and flavorful profile, were shockingly devoid of taste. The absence of seasoning rendered the dish not just tasteless but downright unpalatable. It felt as if I were chewing on plain naan accompanied by water, a culinary offense that defies the very essence of Indian cuisine. The disappointment didn't end there; it extended to a paneer dish that reached new heights of mediocrity. Lacking the vibrant spices and flavors synonymous with Indian paneer preparations, this dish was a profound letdown, further contributing to the overall dismal dining experience. To add insult to injury, observations of the owner and staff eating and then directly handling food without washing their hands left me disgusted and concerned for the well-being of anyone daring to consume a meal here. Such blatant disregard for basic hygiene practices is not only unprofessional but poses a serious risk to the health and safety of customers. In all honesty, I cannot, in good conscience, recommend this restaurant to anyone. It not only falls short of the standards expected from an establishment serving Indian cuisine but also raises serious concerns about food safety practices. Save yourself the disappointment and potential health risks--steer clear of this culinary catastrophe. This place, regrettably, deserves no stars.

Yelp
Food: this place is so good! I love their naan so much. They bring out garlic naan and it just envelopes you in all of its garlicky goodness. I got the garlic cheese naan last night and it was phenomenal. My friend got date naan, which is turning into a new craving of mine. The sweet and savory combo is lovely! The chicken Tikka and makhani were both superb! The food came out piping hot. The rice was yummy too. Service: The service was good too. My water glass almost never had the chance to get lower than halfway. We were served within 15 minutes of arriving even though it was Diwali and we didn't have a reservation. (Save yourself the stress and call ahead!) Our server ran a tight ship and got us out of there in less than an hour which was perfect so we could make a movie across town. Ambiance: it's a bustling palace when it's busy. I had only done pick up before and didn't realize it is a pretty small restaurant. It was lively though on a holiday and a Sunday night. It was loud so conversations were a little louder than normal.

Yelp
I'm in awe with Spice room! It's been awhile that I've had Indian, had crazy cravings, and Yelp came to the rescue! I've ordered samosas, tikka masala chicken mild, shrimp vindaloo medium, tandoori chicken wings, malai kebabs, an order of butter naan, cheese and jalapeño naan, roti, and a tall glass of chai iced tea. The portions here are generous and the samosas are generous in size and filling, tikka masala chicken was buttery and creamy, and the shrimp vindaloo was spicy. The tandoori chicken wings and malai kebab was tender deliciousness! I didn't care for the roti as we've ordered it plain and was a bit dry, but overall dinner here was amazing!

Yelp
Pleasantly surprised by this joint. Mostly happy because open on Christmas day. Cozy / homey feel restaurant with a very Napal like decor. We tried the Momos, along with Tandoori chicken & Chicken tikka masala. Chicken Momos with dipping sauce delicious! We felt satisfied with meal but felt that the tandoori chicken lacked that authentic flavor. Service was exceptional.

Yelp
Spice room was the best Indian food I have had in a long time! Everyone worked together and was very attentive and it is beautiful inside! It's right where the old Gunther Toodyss use to be off Ralston and Wadsworth so very convenient and great for a date night! Didn't take a picture of our food cause we devoured it but 10/10 recommend!!

Yelp
I recently visited the Spice Room for lunch. I was happy to see they offer an extensive lunch menu. The complimentary pappadam with sauces was also very nice. I ordered the vegetarian Rajma and aloo masala. This dish was a little disappointing because the potatoes were undercooked and flavors were not particularly remarkable. It was spicy, as described. My dining partner was not overly enthusiastic about his honey chicken. Not super keen on the electronic billing system. While the waiter stands there, you are trying to figure out what percentage the suggested tip amounts represent-didn't see that this info is presented (eg, 20%,etc). Would be open to trying other dishes but not rushing back.

Yelp
I ordered 225 vegetarian chili momos for a company event and they were made to perfection. Everyone ate it up so quickly! Spice room had it ready right on time & they were great to work with. I feel like their quality got better again! :) Thank you!!

Yelp
My first impression from outside was little misleading. However as soon as we entered the place I had a good feeling about this restaurant. The ambiance was pretty and the lighting was just right. We took a nice corner booth and tried their cucumber salad ( i was so happy to see this! In india most restaurants have fresh cucumber salad on the table). The salad was refreshing with hint of chaat masala and tamrind. They also provided complimentary papad with some amazing sides. They had 4 but my favorite was the mint chutney. We also enjoyed their pani puri, lasuni gobi, daal makhani. But the highlight for me was their garlic naan and roti. Its so thin and perfect. It was awesome. All the flavors are really authentic. I ended the meal with their masala chai which felt comforting and much needed after a long day! The food service was really quick. We got everything in a short time and the staff checked in regularly to see if we wanted anything. For a long time I have been looking for a nice authentic Indian restaurant and for me this is it ! Cant wait to come back their cocktails which also look delish!!

Yelp
We've been here twice now, once when it was very busy and once when the restaurant was only 1/3 full and what's very impressive is that the service was equally as great both times. The food is phenomenal and the vibes of the restaurant are great. We got the chicken tikka masala (the best I've had) and the garlic naan which paired very well. The complementary sauce/cracker combo they give is BOMB and we asked for more because of how good all the sauces were. We will definitely be back and recommend it to anyone visiting!
google avatar

Yelp
We wanted to switch it up from our usual Little India and Himchuli take out and gave Spice Room a try. The food was excellent and was prepared quickly. We got the chicken makhani and chicken vindaloo. I loved the amount of heat in the vindaloo and the chicken in the makhani was very tender. We ordered garlic naan and were disappointed that it was one small piece of it. However, it was very tasty and soft! Overall, Spice Room is a great spot for Indian food and I'd like to dine in so I can try a bunch of the authentic Indian street food appetizers! The portions of naan and rice were much smaller than local competitors, but still very high quality.
google avatar

FallonRaye S.

Yelp
This place is pretty good. I do know a couple slightly better Indian food restaurants, but this is pretty high up there. Let's say, top 3. I got the butter chicken and it was actually overwhelmingly butter. Yes, I know the name of the dish is Butter Chicken, but I've never in my life had a butter chicken where the before taste and after taste was butter. It wasn't disgusting. It was just subtle and noticeable. The garlic naan though!!! Yum! And they also give a great portion of rice. Didn't eat in, I did to go. So can't really tell you if the people that work there are nice or not. So yeah, it's cool. Definitely check it out and make your own opinions.

Ekshika P.

Yelp
As an Indian person, I'm shocked that this place has so many good reviews. This Indian food is very bland compared to traditional authentic Indian food. All the spices and flavors that make up the rich cuisine of Indian food have been quartered in all the dishes. I was disappointed and saddened to see this muting of traditional Indian food at this restaurant. This is not authentic Indian food, this is Indian food that has been muted and transformed to be flavorless. The service was excellent, everyone working there seemed so sweet and were very attentive.
google avatar

Geffrey Q.

Yelp
Really enjoyed the flavors, the spiciness and seeing the different items on the menu that arent on other restaurants menus. Smaller restaurant gets packed quick and is a great energetic atmosphere. We all shared our dishes and we all liked everything we got. Service was also very good. Not much parking

Emilie G.

Yelp
Great food and quick service! Best Indian food I've had while living in Denver. We always over order so we can have left overs for lunch or dinner the next day. Highly recommend!

Yelp
BAD KARMA I recently discovered that these restaurants (Spice Room ) are a total ripoff off of family recipes from the great GREAT & ORIGINAL YAK & YETI The owner, Rustam Gindullin worked at Yak & Yeti posing as a loyal employee all the time he was scheming to learn how the owners of YAK & YETI Dol and Maju Bhattarai made such a successful brand and delicious food, simple really they spread GOOD KARMA . So Rustam spent years accepting their generosity and acted as a loyal and honest person and employee, Ha ! RUSTAM, KARMA IS A BITCH If you love this food, go to any of the great YAK & YETI locations, enjoy fantastic food, and get GOOD KARMA!

Yelp
I was really looking forward to trying a new Indian spot in the area, but I was massively let down by this location. Let's start with the good: The service was great. I was sat down upon entering even though it was a busy Thursday evening. There were multiple workers who checked in on us from time to time and we appreciated their attentiveness. The papadum cracker was perfectly crispy and I loved the flavors of all 4 sauces that it came with, especially the yogurt sauce with onions. I was expecting to be wowed by the food after eating the papadum, but it was all just meh. There was definite lack of spice and flavor within my vegetable korma. And perhaps I could have ordered up from mild to intensify the flavor, but my usual mild veggie korma at Himchuli is always flavorful. The korma only tasted of creamy coconut, and the vegetables were a little mushy. I did appreciate the variety of vegetables. My friend's chicken tikka masala was also described as just being okay and lackluster. Then the cheese and garlic naan came to the table and I thought it looked a little greasy but was hopeful for a punch of flavor to save the day. The cheese was there, but it only vaguely tasted as if the naan had once met the essence of garlic. I'm willing to accept that I might have come in on an off day, but overall I prefer Himchuli

Mei B.

Yelp
This is Indian food for non Indian people. The fact that it has so many positive reviews makes me want to cry. Denver needs to up its Indian food game. It's run by Nepalis--not Indians, which explains why it tastes nothing like actual Indian food. No flavor. Overpriced and bland for what you pay for. Depressing.
google avatar

Glenn G.

Yelp
Great food as Togo!! Yummy , Always consistent. The food is delicious. I don't remember what we ordered but we've ordered there from a few times and picked up. It's always ready and the staff nice foods, delicious and fresh and yummy.
google avatar

Hang L.

Yelp
I have heard nothing but good things about this place and it did not disappoint! Everything we ordered was good, only complaint is their spice level isn't as spicy as I wanted. But I understand the audience they are catering to. This restaurant is very small and parking isn't the best. It's best to make a reservation or come on a snowy day like we did. The service was great! I would definitely come back and try some other things on the menu.
google avatar

Joy Q.

Yelp
Love the mushrooms This is a neighborhood spot for Indian food very authentic and satisfying especially for a cold day in after the mountains

Cam H.

Yelp
So let me start with the positive - the food is quite good. I have been here a number of times and everything has been fine - good food decent service. Tonight, a Tuesday so not a crazy weekend, we had a party of six and the service was pretty bad. Took forever for the waiter to come and take our order. I had to flag him down and he seemed surprised when I joked that "we thought you'd forgotten us". This was a nice way of saying this service aint makin it. Takes our order and then we wait and .... wait. They serve only one persons food and then it takes another 20' to serve the other entrees. When I ask about the appetizer we ordered for the table the response was "it will be here soon". After the entrees - I said forget it. Now I appreciate that they comped it but we didnt eat it as - we already had our entrees. We ordered more drinks - nothing came. When it was time to pay the bill the waiter asked - "did you get your drinks?" No of course you know we didnt. Again I said don't bother. The server was nice and apologized and while I appreciate that the service didn't meet basic levels of competency while the bill was hundreds. There are other good Indain places in Denver - not sure I'll bother to come back here.

Yelp
The chicken vindaloo and butter naan were phenomenal and the service was absolutely top notch. Definitely found my spot for Indian food here in Denver!
google avatar

Abhishek S.

Yelp
I liked the ambiance and the food of this place a lot. really authentic food that's a mix of indian and nepalese dishes. I ordered their chicken karahi and the chicken kebab. The rice given with the chicken karahi was really fluffy and the portion was great as well.
google avatar

Prakriti K.

Yelp
We went here after a long day of travel around Denver. Great staff! Extremely fast service. We got everything we ordered in about 6 mins flat which was wonderful! Tried their lahsuni gobi (wasn't crispy as described), creamy tomato soup which was unique but more chunky than creamy but yum, malai kofta was really good and butter naan! They also gave a complimentary papad platter which was nice. While the food and staff were good, I feel they can definitely put more effort to keep things (tables and washroom) cleaner, which is a major contributor to the ambience!
google avatar

Fanzi P.

Yelp
Best Indian food in Colorado! We love dining in, but with young kids this has been a delivery staple for us! Our go to favorites are Appetizers: Samosas, and Dahi Puri (I've been obsessed with these since attending an Indian wedding and they are so hard to find - if you ever see it on a menu, this is a sure sign it's a legit Indian restaurant) Main dishes: Lamb Biryani, Chicken Tikka Masala, Aloo Gobi, Saag Paneer, Green Beans Lunch combos in person are also spectacular and authentic. We've tried many things on the menu over the years and never been disappointed or had a bad experience!
google avatar

Lea S.

Yelp
I've been to the Spice Room twice in the past few months, and both times have been wonderful. Not only is the food great, but so is the service. Although it was sad to see Annie's leave this location, Spice Room has definitely come in with amazing offerings. The Chicken Tikka Masala has been my go-to each time because it's just incredible. It's like a warm hug on a cold night. I've shared some of the other menu items that my friends have ordered, and I don't think I've found something that wasn't great. Located on Colfax, there is parking in their lot and on the street. If you want to visit India without leaving Denver, check out this new spot.
google avatar

Bennett P.

Yelp
They have a small free parking lot in front, 5 spots. Street parking is also free. I came to get small plates of street food + dessert. This is their original location in West Denver. Very inviting with wood tables and floors and cool inside with soft music being played. I tasted with my favorite drink, Mango Lassi. They sprinkled cashews on top. Nicely sweet and soothing. Which helped when I got a bowl of Spicy Dahl soup made with yellow lentils. Very spicy (great for your sinuses)! Next was the Chicken Malai Tikka kebab. I got 6 pieces of well seasoned chicken on a bed of fresh cabbage. My server was Indira N. She was pleasant to speak with. Other staff kept my water glass filled constantly. For dessert, I got the hot (freshly cooked) Gajar Ka Halwa. It is made with grated carrots, milk & sugar simmered over low heat. It was garnished with cashews & coconut. Indian food is almost always gluten free and they always incorporate vegetables, beans and spices.
google avatar

Montana P.

Yelp
The service was extremely meh. But the food was great! They actually held onto fresh naan before serving to us, and it was cold. A little weird to hold onto that. Service. So we had two curries that at the end of service we wanted to take home and they gave us two general fold non liquid containers. Maybe mistake? When pressed "yea that's what we give for Togo" and I'm like, wait, you give these also for your door dash deliveries too? "Oh, no, we give different ones". "Yes please, can we have those sealed/top close containers please" and the look of bewilderment or "god what lousy customers" look they gave. Like really? Also, no receipt to proof read. I know this is hit and miss for everyone, but I hate places that don't give us the receipt to look over. They literally gave us their POS (point of sale) device to look through. What a horrible way to cap the entire food experience. Food was great (albeit slow and cold naan), but the overall service and infrastructure was just extremely lacking. I'd still go to this place, but with a more guarded mental experience to "get what you need" kinda thing. Great places don't have to make you think for what you need. Just a lot of miscommunication and potentially missed training opportunities.

Yelp
I visited the original Spice Room Indian Bistro on 38th street for lunch (we went to the colfax one twice) and had a great meal with my boys. One of the highlights of the visit was that my son, who has a peanut allergy, was able to eat at this restaurant. He loves some of the Indian dishes and especially enjoyed the Indian version of a lunch wrap. It was pretty good, even for my two (admittedly not picky eaters,) who are 10 and 13 years old. I decided to try the Lunch Biryani and it was average and I've had better. However, the - just okay- lunch biryani won't stop me from coming back to this restaurant. Overall, I would recommend the original Spice Room Indian Bistro on 38th street to anyone looking for a good Indian meal, especially those with dietary restrictions. The lunch wrap was a hit with my kids, and the restaurant was easy to sit down and enjoy a meal
google avatar

Justin G.

Yelp
This restaurant doesn't look like much being next to a liquor store, but this Indian food is excellent. I got chicken pakoras, chicken tikka masala, & shrimp curry. The chicken pakoras had generous sized chicken strips with a nicely spiced coating to it. The chicken tikka masala & shrimp curry had abundant flavors & fine kicks of spiciness to it. I ordered them at medium intensity. It may be the best Indian food I've had, but there's another great Indian restaurant named Ashoka in Troy, Michigan. Update 7/10/22: I came back here again for chicken pakoras & tofu masala. It was again fantastic.

Chia V.

Yelp
Food was delicious and waitresses were very kind. Will be going back very soon but may consider doing takeout as restaurant was a bit small and crowded.
google avatar

Joseph S.

Yelp
Wow...love the multilayered flavors that is Indian food. As always we over order so we may try as many new dishes as budget allows and it always makes for a great feast on day two +... Lentils, okra, veg rice, methi shrooms, garlic naan and one of the nicest masala chai's I have ever had. The best part was the people. It is truly a gem and the review ms that brought us here were spot on...!
google avatar

Keanna M.

Yelp
We ordered the saag paneer, chicken tikka masala, and dal makhani. We ordered all of them medium hot. They were spicy and flavorful! The naan was a little bit sweet and just delicious. Everything was good.
google avatar

Lily S.

Yelp
It's really mixed for me. I was first swept off by the Chai. Something about it being served in a mini teacup atop a saucer and although it didn't taste too milky, there was a visible film of milk fat on top. I LOVED how balanced the tea-milk-sugar levels were. It was the perfect cup of Chai. If they sell it to-go, I'd come here just to pick it up! Maybe with another to-go item - the Tandoori chicken. It is so different from other Indian restaurant's ubiquitous tandoori chicken that's usually colored like Char Siu (Cantonese style BBQ pork) and super dry. Spice Room's version is super moist and juicy, served on a piping hot fajita plate! From there it's downhill... The Appetizer platter was ok, nothing to write home about. But I also had to write home about how salty the Chicken korma was. I thought maybe that's how they do saucy meat dishes, but no. My friend's potato curry was also loaded with sodium. And the worst was when you think you can wash it down with some nice naan, the bread was all burnt, dry and hard. I can't believe they screw up something as simple as naan. Hubby's Chicken Biryani tasted funny. Perhaps that's a very regional dish that requires some special skill to make good. I want to say I'm scared to try anything else. Especially with difficult parking, The Spice Room won't be a place for me to dine in...

Harold H.

Yelp
Had an unpleasant experience for my first time at Spice Room. Entrees took about 40 minutes to get to our table and the chicken biryani I ordered was insanely spicy even though I ordered for mild. My stomach was hurting from how spicy it was after. I didn't want to return the dish since they were packed for NYE service so I decided to eat what I could. The garlic naan and the vegetable samosa were the only good things I got to eat without a problem. Overall bad first experience but I'll give it another try down the road.
google avatar

Christin S.

Yelp
Spice room doesn't disappoint! Make a reservation if you plan to go at peak hours. But if you go before 6pm they have really good happy hour drink prices. The mushroom manchurian had lots of flavor and wasn't too spicy at all. Garlic naan - a must! This time we also tried the cheese jalapeño naan and really enjoyed it For mains we had the lamb vindaloo (spicy) and the lamb makhani (medium). Absolutely loved them both. The spice levels do not disappoint!! Pro tip : you'll almost certainly have leftovers so don't forget to bring your own Tupperware from home!
google avatar

Laura T.

Yelp
I've had the spice room twice now, both carry out. The garlic cheese naan is good, honestly I haven't tried just the garlic naan to taste the difference the cheese makes because it does not taste overly cheesey. The saag paneer is my favorite, and the chicken tikka masala was delicious as well. Samosas are large and good sauce with those

Yelp
My FAVORITE Indian food in Denver- and they just opened up a new location on Colfax closer to my neighborhood! This place is just absolutely amazing- portions are huge, food is incredible. The crust on the samosas is thin and flakey and deep fried to perfection. The paneer dishes (my usual choice as a vegetarian) are creamy, smooth and irresistible. Pictured below is the paneer pakora- the best I've had ever. Staff is so helpful and friendly and the ambiance in the new location is impeccable. I am always excited to come here!

Yelp
We got takeout from here. Very disappointed. The food is not authentic, saucy, salty and heavy. Not at all what real Indian food is.

Yelp
My new obsession. I've ordered take out from the Spice Room for the last two evenings. First of all, I love that they offer Deliver Zero containers. These are re-usable to-go containers so we don't have to put additional items in the landfill (I don't trust that plastic actually gets recycled). So this is a huge plus. Please join me in using this cool service. The first night I ordered Chili Paneer and the Aloo Green Beans. Wow-really wonderful, crave-able food. The second night we got Aloo Tikki Chat and my bf got the Chicken Curry, which he loved. We tried both the cheese naan and the garlic cheese naan which had a lovely flavor. Not as greasy and cheesy as I normally like, but cheese naan isn't traditional anyway. We both agreed that the big stand out was the Aloo Green Beans. It was exceptionally delicious and we can't wait to order it again.

Yelp
We love the Spice Room and it is our go-to for Indian food. A very friendly, attentive staff paired with awesome vegan/vegetarian options. I wish they had more locations but we drive down to the Highlands just for this place.

Yelp
Discovered this place through Tock - the food reservation website, which recommended this place to be one of the best Indian restaurants around, so naturally I had to try this out. I made a reservation for 4 and was genuinely excited to try this place out. For appetizers we had - aloo tikki chat, chicken malai kebab and onion bhaji. For main course - chicken vindaloo and veg makhani. We paired the food with some wine and bullet naan. Overall, the starters were great. The chicken was soft and tender, the aloo tikki chat had the distinct Indian tangy/ spicy flavor and the onion bhaji was crispy and well done. The chicken vindaloo was decent, although it didn't have that spice or that well defined rich flavors that a vindaloo is known for. The veg makhani was spot on with all the veggies cooked properly (many restaurants miss this dish by undercooking some veggies and it comes out crunchy which is a big NO). The restaurant s on the smaller side so I'd recommend to make a reservation if you're planning to go on a weekend. There's limited parking outside so be prepared to find a parking spot nearby on the street. The servers are polite and knowledgeable, and the service was good. The prices are honestly very reasonable which was a huge surprise and a big plus. I'd love to visit this restaurant again and try out some more food. A solid option to be among the 'one of the best Indian restaurants around' indeed!

Yelp
The food here is amazing. Every dish is packed with flavor. I was able to try a lot of different dishes since I came with a bigger party and I don't remember any dish being disappointing. They have a huge menu and there is something for everyone. We dined in on a Friday night and it was super busy. Honestly, I would recommend ordering takeout from this place vs dining in. It's a little cramped, warm, loud and service was incredibly slow. They do take reservations if you do decide to dine in.

Yelp
We tried this place last night and loved it! My sister and I are usually hesitant about Indian restaurants because home cooked is so much better but we had a craving for butter chicken last night so checked out this place and it definitely impressed. We ordered the mushroom and peas curry, the butter chicken, samosas, garlic naan, and jalapeño and cheese naan. The curries were creamy and spicy without being oily (tough to find in Indian restaurants) and the samosas and naan were super flavorful. Highly recommend checking it out if you're in the Denver area!

Yelp
I'm pretty sure I discovered Spice Room during a short stint driving for Postmates. I had just moved to Denver and was looking for a reliable spot to get Indian food. Walking in to pick up an order, I fell in love with the ambiance and aromas instantly. Throughout the pandemic, I ordered several different curries and naan, both for myself and group game nights. My favorite dish, as always, is Rogan Josh. But everything I've tried tastes so carefully crafted and homemade. Perfect amount of flavor, spice, and proportion of curry to meat. I recently dined in with a few friends, which was a special experience after getting delivery for so many months. I didn't realize how many curries they offered until I held the physical menu in my hands, and it's fun that they recommended beer & wine pairings. Service is fantastic, and they're so accommodating of dietary restrictions. Just ask the wait staff if you have questions because the icons on the menu can be confusing. Make reservations since it can get busy. Next time I'll have to get the mango lassi, which I often crave. I can't wait to come back!
