We had Swayam Ranu and he’s the best server. From beginning to the end I was so impressed. If I did not live 3 hours away, I would be here a lot! The food is beautiful, tasteful, and just simply amazing, straight down to dessert. He presented the Red wine professionally and it was delicious! Thank you so much for your service. We’ll be back again when we’re in NY.

Highly recommend this restaurant! We had a Girls’ Trip to NYC and had a wonderful and delicious experience at Spice Symphony. The owner (Prim?) was gracious and knowledgeable and made suggestions on food choices at our request. Our server Falak was kind and attentive. The atmosphere is great, the food was delicious. We had mainly the Indochine options, but there are also Indian and Chinese options separately. Overall, a wonderful and flavorful experience! We hope to be back!

I went there two nights ago while visiting New York to celebrate my sister’s birthday. They had the best food, and everything was so nice and delicious. The staff was amazing; they made sure to make my sister’s day even more special by giving her a cute Indian dessert and a kulfi. Thank you to Nisar and the team! I also want to thank the guy with the British accent ( sorry we forgot your name) but thank you for making my sister's day special. They even gifted her a happy birthday card. I highly recommend this place for the best food and staff!

Truly enjoyed Spice Symphony. The restaurant was welcoming; the food and drinks were delicious. Everything was flavorful, bold, and beautifully presented. The staff were attentive and considerate. When returning to New York, I will be sure to make another reservation here!

Terrible terrible terrible experiences in my whole life. I have never left the restaurant leaving food like this. I have to say I'm not a Indian curry expertise. But, Lamb Rogan Josh that I ordered was salty and imbalanced for me. Basically, it tasted like I couldn't taste any more spoons. I was asking a waitress for help if I could have something creamy or sweet to add. But, she was not helpful at all and didn't really care. It wasn't completely for me.

We had the BEST experience at the 50th street Spice Symphony! The manager Nasir and all the wait staff were so kind, welcoming, and helpful. The food was wonderful, we tried new things and some we’ve had a hundred times and it all hit the spot! Please get the chicken lollipops and samosas for appetizers they were the best I ever had! Each dish came with an assortment of dipping sauce and I am a sucker for dips that enhance flavor. The garlic naan is a must! The staff even surprised me with the coconut flan with a candle for my birthday. The flan was a flavor I never had before but I will be back to have again and again, I really loved it! Thank you to all that work here that made this night so memorable, I cannot wait to return for another fantastic dinner.

I had a wonderful lunch experience at Spice Symphony with my colleagues! This place offers a delightful array of Northern Indian cuisine that is absolutely delicious. The restaurant itself is spacious with a welcoming bar area, perfect for both casual and formal gatherings. A pro tip for anyone visiting during lunch hours: make sure to ask for the lunch menu. They offer unlimited servings, which is fantastic for enjoying a variety of flavors. Highly recommend for anyone craving authentic and tasty Indian food!

We are so glad we came here for drinks and food! Incredibly welcoming and personable service. The food was on point with flavor and comfort on this super cold day. Extensive wine list for any wine enthusiasts from European to California. And the drink list includes classics to handcrafted. I left happy and thankful we had the opportunity to have dinner here. Had a great experience at Spice Symphony. I was a bit skeptical at first given the midtown location (clearly a lot of tourists here) and the unassuming interior (the restaurant is garden level). The food is delicious and they have an extensive Indian-Chinese menu which is less common in Manhattan. The service was extremely attentive. Food was good although portion sizes were a bit small.

Been there to this place on Saturday evening. It was not very crowded and we were easily seated. Food is good but portions are very less and it's pricey . Ambience is dark and gloomy and music was not going with the decor. They could have better lighting and increase the portion size. Taste of food was good

Food was a mixture of okay and very good. We started off with the New Delhi chaat, which was alright but I've had better elsewhere. The chutney sampler was also just okay, would skip. However their Tandoori chicken and lamb chops were both really tender and flavorful, not dry at all. Service is also great; staff were really friendly and attentive.

Spice Symphony is a great name for this spot - delicious, spiced Indian cuisine in a very harmonic atmosphere that makes for a great dinner out. The quality and flavors here really stand out in the NYC Indian scene. Even more impressive was their quality vegan and vegetarian menus (separate mind you!), which used ingredients that I normally don't find at a lot of Indian restaurants. I started off with their Gobi Manchurian, a classic Indo-Chinese dish and these did not disappoint. Baked cauliflower doused in a tangy sweet-sour sauce while still being mostly crispy is a huge win. For my main, I had their Soya Kheema Mutter ($20) and it was absolutely divine. The creamy tomato base had amazing spices and the ground soya pieces were a wonderful touch to add plant-based protein into my meal. Order it spicy because it was just what I needed. I enjoyed these with a side of roti. The service here was great and they continued to check in on us throughout the night. We closed out the restaurant yet did not feel rushed or pushed to leave, which we appreciated (and of course we left soon after closing). Very impressed with our experience and would be happy to return one day.

I wasn't vibing with the chicken tikka masala but it's probs my fault, not theirs. I didn't hate it but I didn't love it either. It's something about the sauce. I've only had lamb curry from Indian restaurants before and was ready to venture out so I'm glad I tried a classic just not a huge fan of this spot. Other things on the menu seemed really good though, and the staff was so nice and welcoming as I waited for my pick up order. The space was beautiful and there were a decent amount of people sitting down in the middle of the workday. This was on the pricey side too, at $23.

Absolutely LOVED my experience at Spice Symphony - one of the only places I trust with Indo Chinese and they truly do bring the spice if you ask for it! Ordered the triple szechwan, paneer chili, and the vegetable manchurian and they were all tasty, unique, and flavorful! You're seated promptly and they have an even larger menu that's got Indian as well. The interior of the restaurant looks like a pretty standard Indian restaurant, but there's enough options to be able to find whatever you are in the mood for! Their lunch special is also a great value if you're around!

Restaurant is beautiful and great decor for date night vibes. Service 5/5. They gave us free appetizer kebabs to try. The servers were attentive to the minor details and served water frequently. The food was disappointing Chinese bhel: 1/5. Super sour and spicy. The papad made it edible but absolutely disgusting Vegetable Manchurian: 2/5. No taste whatsoever and bland Hakka noodles: 2/5. Vegetables even lost taste The saving grace for this restaurant was its service but would not return due to disappointing food for south Asians

The food is amazing. Such unique and flavorful cuisines. Variety of items in the menu. Service was great. Feels really welcoming even during busy hours. Ambiance is more on the noisy side. The restaurant is well lit and maintained, but can get very loud.

I came here for the first time on a Friday evening with three friends who have been to another Spice Symphony and highly recommended it! The restaurant was also very homey and ever so slightly moody. The front door leads to an intimate lower level that is the restaurant and most of the light comes from the front desk and the bar. As you go further towards the back, where we sat, most of the illumination comes from the candles on the table. Only thing is that this can cause for minor messes, as we had a spill from a server refilling our water glasses and a candle that was knocked over during table cleanup. Regardless, everyone was incredibly friendly. The servers were very kind and accommodating of us, especially when we were first figuring out what to order since some of us at the table could handle spice and some of us couldn't. The food here was absolutely delicious, with just the right amount of spice. Among the four of us, we ordered the Gobi Manchurian, Malai Paneer Ke Tikke, and Hakka Noodles with egg. The Gobi Manchurian was so good that we ordered another round of it, along with an order of the Paneer Chili Dry. Definitely need to come back to try more dishes!

This place was absolutely delicious!! I actually found my meal kinda spicy at first but then asked to dial it down a little which was even better. The flavors are fresh and unique to each dish. Staff was very attentive and the space itself is also charming. We came here with family to celebrate my brother's MBA graduation and we all really enjoyed ourself. The indian chinese dishes were fabulous and highly recommend this spot to anyone.

Just stopped here on a whim this night after thanksgiving & we were pleasantly surprised. Food & service exceptional. We were lucky to get an excellent server Monji who with witty remarks guided us on everything. Would recommend trying their spinach fritters, tandoori chicken, chili lamb , Tandoori Nan, Kerala fish curry. Don't leave without trying the mango kulfi!

A few high spots and a few disappointments. This may have been my bad, but I had originally thought Spice Symphony was a Chinese-Indian fusion restaurant. It actually seems to be more of a Chinese and Indian restaurant. There are dishes from both cuisines, but not much overlap. We ordered the Chinese Bhel, Chicken Tikka Masala, Aloo Gobi, and Garlic Naan. The standouts were the chicken tikka masala, which was full of flavor and noticeably really creamy, as well as the garlic naan, which had plenty of garlic and were the perfect combination of chewy and crunchy. We saw an ad for the chinese bhel outside, so my friend and I decided to try it. It wasn't bad at all, but it was a bit underwhelming. It's essentially crispy noodles tossed in a sweet and sour sauce. The sweet and sour sauce tasted like one that you might get at an Asian supermarket rather than one that was house-made. I have no idea if it was house-made. I'm assuming it was, but there just wasn't anything about it that told me that it was fresh or that something was added to it. And the aloo gobi was way too salty. It was really difficult for me to eat it, and the only thing that saved it was mixing it with the sauce of the chicken tikka masala. I truly could not believe how salty it was. I saw another reviewer mention that they're too attentive with refilling water, and I have to agree. There were a number of times when my water had barely been touched, and they still poured a few drops into my cup. Not refilling water at all is one of my biggest pet peeves, but refilling it too often is now another one. My friend and I were trying to catch up, and having the waiter come by with a huge pitcher of water made us lose our trains of thought a few times. Finally, they were kind of rushing us out of the door. I didn't realize they closed between lunch and dinner, so that's just something to keep in mind if you're coming in for a late lunch like we were.

Great food, location & service. We were at Spice Symphony on Saturday, January 25, 2025 for brunch. It was a grad school reunion of sorts for 12. The food - samosas, soup, paneer tikka, haka noodles, chop suey, gobhi manchurian, chai & rasmalai - was delicious. Led by Nisar the team of Swyam, Ranu & Suresh took care of our group. Thank you. Highly recommend this restaurant.

I was craving Indian food and discovered this restaurant close to work that offered delivery. I decided to try their chicken biryani, specifically requesting it extra spicy--and they certainly delivered on the heat! The dish was intensely spicy, just how I like it, so I had to pace myself while eating. Despite the spice, the flavors were fantastic, and the accompanying sauces were a perfect complement. However, I have to dock a star because the chicken was a bit dry, and the delivery arrived 45 minutes late. That said, it's still great value for a lunch special, and I'd definitely recommend it. Next time, I plan to dine in for a better experience!

First time visiting and they were absolutely incredible- food was delicious but what made the experience was how kind the staff was. They gave us complimentary appetizers and dessert and everyone greeted us so kindly upon entrance and exit. 10/10 recommend we got the chicken tikka masala and lamb chops

I came to Spice Symphony for a weekend dinner and was seated promptly. The servers were very friendly and happy to answer our questions and tend to our specific asks. The restaurant was nice with normal and booth tables. The Palak paneer was my favorite dish, with high quality paneer and a creamy sauce. The chicken was tender flavorful and cooked well. We paired these with garlic naan, which was served warm. We enjoyed the New Delhi chaat which we got as an appetizer, as well as the desserts we ordered. My favorite was the Rasmalai, although the Mango Kulfi was also fresh, sweet, and tasty. Would definitely come back to try more dishes!

This place can be a hit or a miss and in my opinion though spice symphony is known to dish up some of the best indo Chinese in the area, I would argue that the food is decent but didn't really blow my socks off. The hot and sour soup was probably my favorite thing we ordered since it was the perfect blend of hot sour and spicy so if I do come back it will be for the soup. The paneer schezuan we ordered came with rice and we also got a plate of Hakka noodles. The paneer was kind of rubbery and the sauce felt like maggi hot and sweet and the proportions of sauce to paneer didn't make sense. The noodles were also just okay but didn't have much flavor which I was hoping for. Definitely go for the soups and apps here!

The food was so tasty that I literally laughed out loud after my first bite. I ordered the Lamb Rogan Josh and my husband got the chicken and broccoli. We will definitely be coming back again. The servers were also delightful.

The restaurant truly delivered with its exceptional service and delicious food. Over the course of two days, the manager took the initiative to recommend dishes that accommodated my allergies, making for a wonderfully inclusive dining experience.

The service and manager at this restaurants is always such a pleasure. The manager was able to adjust the spice level perfectly to my requirements and to the palate of my diversely hot tolerant friends.

Every time I go to this place, their execution is just perfect. The ambiance, the friendly staff, & oh-so-delicious food. either lunch specials or dinner. Fresh, warm, spicy, exquisite. The husband ,who used to live in India for three years , commented that their food was much better than the food he used to have in India. Their fresh nans are to die for. Today, I had their lunch special - Manchurian Chicken. So good . So good ! Highly recommend. Must try it!

Food was great and the service was really nice. If you want the food spicy make sure to insist but other than that had a great time and the music choice and ambiance was great will be back when back in the city.

Literally the best indo Chinese food EVER. This is one of my favorite restaurants in the city and I honestly love the food. The Delhi chaat is awesome - it's basically sev puri with a drizzle of yoghurt but so so flavorful. The Chinese bhel was also amazing but could skip if you'd like. The lasooni go I was absolutely amazing, I loved it and would def recommend. It's basically another and more spicy version of buffalo cauliflower. For mains we got the tripe Szechwan noodles and rice - so so so good! Absolutely my favorite. We also got the paneer szechwan and stir fried veggies with rice. That was pretty good! My only recommendation would be to flag if your spice tolerance is low. The food here is pretty spicy!

My husband and I took my brother and sister in law to Spice Symphony in Midtown East in New York a couple of days ago. The food was excellent, the presentation was fabulous, the environment was quiet and calm and the service was outstanding. I highly recommend this restaurant to New York visitors and residents.

I was pretty disappointed by the food here! Food: I came here for dinner and was really excited to try an Indian Chinese fusion. But I was disappointed. I started with the spinach chaat, which was like a spinach tempura! I enjoyed this, compared to the main! For our mains we got the chicken Manchurian and the chili chicken- both of which were not good! My stomach also hurt pretty bad after eating here Ambience: it's very calming! They had music similar to what you would hear at a spa, which was a bit tiring! Service: they were attentive! Price: a bit expensive for the quantity of food!

The food was well prepared and presented in an elegant manner. The serving staff were very respectful and pleasant to speak with. I really liked the biryani here, which had the appropriate ratio of rice, chicken and veggies (most places tend to overdo the rice because its cheaper). However the night was ruined by the waiter who was needlessly annoying and messed up multiple allergies at the table. They clarified that items did not have soy in them when I felt noticeable reaction happening.

I would rate the Hakka noodles 100 out of 10! Got very spicy and it didn't disappoint!

I've never sat down here because I order for takeout whenever I crave Indian with a flare. The Indo Chinese flavors are mindblowing. My absolute favorites are the Chinese Bhel, Spicy Wings, and as of late the Chicken Tikka Kebab (the chicken was so juicy and flavorful). I'm actually scooping the tangy, slightly spicy, crunchy Chinese Bhel while I write this. The staff is always so kind offering me to sit at the bar and accomodating me with a mango lassi immediately. Truly a hidden gem of Turtle Bay with the Second Ave restaurants garnering all the spotlight. Additionally the older gentleman who I've always assumed is the manager or owner is always so kind! I wish I had photos, but I always eat everything too quickly.

Food , service , ambiance this place has it all. From the second we stepped through the door we were treated with the utmost attention. The chicken tikka masala is EXCEPTIONAL. Paired with a nice glass of white wine and cheddar naan you are setting yourself up for excellence. If only I was not visiting the city for just a day I would be a regular here. THIS IS THE SPOT TO BE!!!!!!!!

I'm generally not an Indian food lover because I don't like spicy food. Spice Symphony made an Indian food lover out of me. I explained to the server I don't like spicy and he helped me decide what to have. My husband loves spicy so he was very happy too. The food, service and ambiance were all on point. I would definitely go back again.

Came here with my parents on a Saturday evening. Mostly positive things. Daal makhani and malai chicken kabab were both outstanding. The chutney served with the kabab was really unique - a hint of sweetness that supercharged the spicy and the tender chicken. The chicken was absolutely perfectly cooked and flavorful. Garlic chili naan was flavorful but a bit burned. Service was okay - a little choppy and not too warm or inviting. Would def visit again as the food is great and I'm excited to try more dishes but hope they'll brush up the service

A surprising hidden gem with some amazing Indian food. Their samosas, eggplant curry, and tandoori lamb chops were all delicious! The ambiance was intimate and the service was amazing and super friendly.

I was dining alone, and aside from putting me right in the middle of the dining room near the front door, a rather conspicuous location that was a bit uncomfortable, I thought the ambience and the food were quite good. I can't really speak to the ambience since I was facing towards the street and away from the dining room, but it seemed very peaceful and very clean. I only was able to try two items, the garlic naan and a chicken dish (forget the name). It was amazingly delicious. And it would go back in a second. It was not too overpriced, but it was not cheap either. The service was very good. Highly recommended.

We spent a long weekend in NYC and ate out a lot. We ate great food all weekend, but this was the best. After spending 2 weeks in China earlier in the summer, the difference between Chinese food in China and the "American" Chinese that we are used to became very apparent. It never dawned on me that other countries like India have Chinatowns with their own take on Chinese cuisine. After trying Indian Chinese food at Spice Symphony for the first time, I was very impressed. We started with the chicken lollipop appetizer, which was delicious. We ordered a combination of dishes that were more Indian in nature - tikka masala.- and more Chinese in nature - salt & pepper shrimp. All were amazing and complemented one another. The portion sizes were large and everything was very shareable. We made a reservation, but it was not necessary. The ambiance was nice and intimate and quiet. All of the seating was nice. The servers were very attentive and very nice. The bar was well stocked and there were numerous interesting cocktails on the menu along with a great selection of beer and wine. We will definitely be back next time we visit the city.

I got the tandoori chicken, garlic naan, and tried my friends chicken tikka masala. Great dining experience with delicious food and fantastic service.

This restaurant seems to specialize in Indian and Hakka Chinese food. Everything that we tried was tasty, especially the appetizers Only complaint was that the chilli lamb was not flavorful. To me this didn't really have any Indian flavors, apart from being spicy. Service could be improved. We came in a large group, and ended up significantly over ordering food (basically we didn't realize that each curry serves multiple people). No warning that we over ordered. The waiter didn't warn us about this. Also, it was a little disorganized

I came here with a friend on a Sunday night of a holiday weekend. We didn't have a reservation but got a table without a problem around 6:45pm. I ordered the Hakka noodles with chicken and my friend got the palak paneer. My dish was great- the noodles were great and there was a healthy serving of chicken included. My friend did not enjoy her meal as much and said it was much spicier than she anticipated (and she enjoys spicy food). There is no indication on the menu of how mild/spicy each dish is, and the server did not ask what heat level she wanted, so beware of this if you're not a spicy food lover. The place itself is nice but quite dark. There was ambient lighting behind the booth side of the table, but it was flickering ever so slightly the entire time we were there, which was distracting. As other reviews have specified, the staff are vigilant about topping off your water glass, but I appreciated this. While they were quick to take our order and the food arrived quickly, we sat for quite a while waiting for someone to take our plates away and deliver the check. My friend had to flag someone down. While it was a fine experience, the pitfalls would make me a bit wary of recommending this place to a friend.

Spiiiicy! We had takeout and naively figured that heat choices (mild, med, spicy, very spicy) would be indexed to Anglo palates. Wrong! "Spicy" was over the line for folks in our group who like the heat. One imagines that "very spicy" is solely for native palates. That said, the food was delicious. Chicken Manchurian was a terrific savory dish. Garlic spinach was also great. Just be aware that Spice Symphony is no joke when it comes to heat.

This restaurant is honestly one of the best indian restaurants I have ever had the pleasure of dining in. The food was excellent, and the drinks even better! My husband had the lamb vindaloo, and I had the lamb biryani, and we were very happy with our choices. The meat was very tender and deliciously seasoned. And the ambiance of the place was very classy. The cocktails were also spectacular: my husband had the liquid gold tiramisu, and I had the roselo. Our experience was made even better by our wonderful server MONJI S who walked us through the menu and made excellent recommendations for cocktails. He was very attentive and pleasant, one of the best servers we've had here in NYC. He even warned my husband about the spice level of the spice vindaloo (not that it stopped my husband; he loves spicy food). We felt very well taken care of by MONJI S!

Interesting Indo-Chinese place with good food and a good wine list. I was looking for something fast-ish and easy after a long day taking the train up from DC and then doing things all over the city. This place stuck out as something that I wouldn't easily find in DC and was around the corner from the hotel. We got the lamb biryani, symphony chicken tikka salad, samosas and raita. The biryani had tons of great lamb (seriously, it must have been half lamb and half rice), but was a a bit weirdly spicy/salty. Eating it with the raita helped a lot. The samosas were good, but mostly just samosas. The symphony chicken tikka salad was the stand out dish. It was different, light and yummy with oranges and an interesting dressing. Maybe we should have leaned harder into the fusion than the Indian food. They also had a good wine list and the takeout was easy and fast, so everyone had a great meal back at the hotel.

Hidden Gem! Spectacular experience. The crew was so kind and helpful since I'm not very knowledgeable of Indian cuisine. Prices are very very reasonable for NYC, and food ... when I say how AMAZING the chicken tikka masala and garlic naan and tandoori shrimp were, is not even half of how good it was. Great date for night and even for a family dinner or friends gathering. I found my fave Indian food place.

Interesting variety of items, some executed well, some bland, thus an average score. Got delivery of several items for lunch today, mostly off the Indo-Chinese menu: -Garlic Naan $7 -Paneer Szechwan $21 -Samosas $10 -Tellicherri Pepper Chicken - $23 Meal highlights were the Garlic Naan and Samosas. Really soft bread and well seasoned with garlic and spices. The samosas were perfectly crisp on the outside and soft on the inside. Really well executed and they give you the full accoutrements for the samosas - Kheera Raita, Imli (Tamarind Chutney), and Hari (Green Chutney) The Tellicherri Pepper Chicken was new to me, but it was a peppery sauce that built on the heat the more you ate it. I enjoyed it, but would probably aim for a different sauce next time. The disappointment in meal was the paneer szechwan. The dish was rather bland, similar to getting chicken szechuan style at a local ACF food that doesn't specialize in Szechuan food. Cheese was on the tougher side. Would probably go back to try something else, but maybe stick with someone that many others say is done well.
