Three Montreal Restaurant Chains Expand to Toronto in January 2022 | Eater Montreal

"Starting in Montreal’s West Island in 2018, this Indian fast-casual street-food chain — known for pakoras, its “Frankie Rolls” (naan wraps filled with butter chicken, spinach paneer, chana masala, and more), and lemon turmeric cookies — opened its first out-of-province location in Toronto on January 29 as its eighth overall site, with plans for five more neighbouring-province locations over the next 16 months." - Valerie Silva

I visited Spicebros recently and as a vegetarian, I was excited to try Spicebros and ordered their Veggie Goodness Bowl. Honestly, I was a bit disappointed, the vegetables didn’t seem fresh, and the overall flavors were lacking. The portion of rice was also quite small for the price. The only parts I enjoyed were the rice, cauliflower, and chickpeas. There weren’t any good sauces or other ingredients that stood out. The place itself is nice, but they really need to work on temperature control , it was quite warm inside, and the air circulation didn’t feel great. I also noticed only one staff member was running the whole front, taking care of online orders and dine-in customers at the same time. She was working really hard, but honestly, a place like this should have at least two people to handle things more smoothly. On a positive note, I also tried the Veg Burger , forgot to take a pic! and that was the best part of my visit. If I had to recommend anything, it would be the Veg Burger.

I’ve been a customer since this place opened but after today I won’t be ordering from here again. I ordered two butter chicken bowls and both contained several pieces of completely raw chicken, mixed in with some that were properly cooked. This was extremely disappointing and a serious food safety concern.

We had food from here for the first time through uber ears. The quantity and variety within the butter chicken bowl was really nice. Samosas are great here. Spicy chicken was not that worth the money and it was too dry.

If you are looking for Indian street food but with a twist this is your place. They serve Indian fusion street food and it’s a gem. The ambience and service is amazing. You will find the traditional Indian dishes with a fusion twist from butter chicken bowls to Frankie’s you name it you got it. If you are around the area definitely give it a try just loved the food here and the service is super friendly🤍

I was very impressed by the food, service and the ambiance. I really loved their samosa chaat, chicken wings, mango lassi, and the bro bowl was excellent. Not too spicy and too salty just the right touch of spices. So next time you go to Etobicoke then do check them out. I still have more to try. Can’t wait to go back.

Was worried about the parking situation in the area, but I found it very easy to find parking. It's also very convenient for others coming by TTC as it's across the Islington Subway Station. And now for the restaurant: • Small place with limited seating, but great decor and aesthetically pleasing. • there's a hand washing station as well so you don't need to go to the washroom at the back to wash your hands • they're available on apps like Ritual and Uber • great selection of items and appetizers, from the Bombay Frankie's to their bowls, burgers, chaats and more • Great selection of drinks and desserts as well Food: • I really enjoyed their fish (originally had it as an appetizer then decided to get it as the protein on the main item as it was really good and well seasoned). • I loved that their bhel puri and samosa chaat was not too spicy (actually not spicy at all, just the right amount of flavor) • Mango Lassi tasted a bit watery but it was ok • Their kashmiri rose tea was good • Samosas were very filling The appetizers were a generous portion and super filling. The bowl also had lots of toppings and I like how you can select what you want + 2 sauces instead of one.
