"Spicket River Brewery (56 Island St.) made its debut this week in Lawrence, serving beers like a Smashin Pumpkin Ale. The brewery has two outdoor spaces, in addition to its taproom space, and there’s a mug club for regular customers." - Dana Hatic

Google
What an amazing find. First time in Massachusetts, looking for a beer, and we scored. The vibes are immaculate. The beer is some of the best I've ever had. And Oscar is great. He made sure I didn't miss out on anything, gave great suggestions for places to check out, and truly made me feel like a regular. I can't recommend this place enough.

I took me a while to process exactly what took place to me and my wife last weekend at the Spicket River Brewery. We we there for a girls hockey tournament in nearby Andover. The night before we had visited Oak and Iron Brewery nearby where the employees were warm and inviting on a winter cold night. We decided to go to Spricket the next day. We love visiting breweries all over the US where hockey takes us. As soon as we came in for a beer or two the older man with white hair running the pizza oven pointed us to go sit over there a little bit over aggressively. Weird because there were plenty of open seats. After sitting I quickly stood up and took a picture of the beer list and the large tv to post in reviews as people like to see if you can watch games there and what beers are being served. I walked back to the atrium and took picture of the entrance. As i turned around the pizza man was right up on my shoulder inches from my face.Aggressively, he says to me what are you doing? I said I'm taking a picture for my review. Half blocking my way, I asked him if it was ok to take pictures. He ignored my question and said what is it that you need? I said I just came to get a beer. For the next 30 minutes he keeps giving me intense looks from the pizza oven. Uncomfortable but I was watching the game and having a beer. Later he walks to the server serving us and I see he's asking her about us. I can see she seems uncomfortable with the questioning. The intimidating looks continued. Minutes later he send 2 slices of pizza to the table, it the server which I politely declined. We paid our bill and left. NEVER have I had such an experience at a brewery before. You would think this is an isolated incident but if you read some of the reviews her on google you will see it's a pattern that is repeating. People come to breweries to share in beer, laughs and sports. Color or race shouldn't be an issue but it's clear that in THIS place it is. Shame on you for this!

Google
Great atmosphere especially being there all day, the beer never disappoints & the service was more than exceptional. Family and pet friendly at its finest , I highly recommend this place for events, work parties or just some place to hang out after a long day of work Etc. 10/10 if I could rate it higher

Google
Super friendly staff. Had a raspberry sour and it was a perfect summer beer. Meat lovers flatbread pizza was also really good. Nice patio so no plenty of room in good weather. Seemed to be very limited space for rainy days.

Google
Good beers! Be aware that they don't brew very large batches, so if you want to try a beer, get it ... it might not be available in five minutes! We had read online that they served pizza. Unfortunately, we either missed the fact that they don't start cooking until after 4 on weekdays or they didn't put that on their website.

Google
Great beer, love the venue. Just got in from Texas and wanted to try the brewery. Got a flight of five. IDK IPA, CALAMASTA, BODEGA and a Cruel summer. Really interesting area. Probably a lot of history. The brewery is in the basement so look for the address and then park across from the brewery.

Google
Great place to go with friends or family. Outdoor patio is open, plenty of social distancing space. Amazing locally crafted beers.

Google
Great variety of beers. And they have one seltzer so far too. There is a kitchen and a food truck, which offer a variety of reasonably priced items. The staff are all very nice, and service is great.

Yelp
Stopped in for beer to go. They do not have beer to go. (Cute industrial patio area and plenty of board games.) Pretty dead for a Friday night. Super pop music playing- didn't fit the establishment. Fail.

Yelp
What a fantastic day! We had a graduation party at the Spicket River Brewery. We rented a room for our own party but had full access to the outside area and the main rooms in the brewery. Also, the food truck, which is permanently on site, had amazing food as well as their oven pizza! There were also 2 bands playing in the outside area which we want to see again, they were so good. This place is a hidden gem. The owner and staff were terrific! We highly recommend for a party or just to go and have drinks and entertainment. A+

Yelp
This was the last of about 15 breweries we stopped at over a week in the Maine/Massachusetts area. There was nothing "wrong" with the place just not located in the nicest area and the beer was just okay. They had 2 things on their menu that they were out of which was also a bummer. My wife and I shared a flight and had almost everything they had available. The IPA's looked like they'd be ones I'd enjoy but they just lacked a bit of flavor in my opinion. They were also out of stickers. Maybe it was just an off day?

Yelp
We have been going to Spicket for quite awhile now and have some good news. Live music! Good beer, some tasty foods, great bartending and music. Can you ask for any more? My only recommendation is bring back my Menace otherwise quite happily with Parade. Go and have some fun!

Yelp
Nice place for an after work event. Outdoor and indoor seating. Beer was good. Service was good. Very nice, friendly and smiling waitress. Would definitely go back. Plenty of free parking.

Yelp
*DOG FRIENDLY* this place is really great for hanging out and enjoying a beer and a light snack. The wings have really great flavor and the tostones are crispy and delicious. I absolutely love the outdoor seating area. There's plenty of space and lots of room for your dog to chill and not be too overwhelmed. It's a little bit more expensive than other breweries, but not overly expensive. The beer tastes great and they have friendly staff

Yelp
Such a great place!! Plenty of parking. A minute off the highway!!!! Hidden gem! Plenty of brews and other options. Great event space for private functions.

Yelp
Nice brewery, great vibe and pretty good beer. Can get a little packed on the main patio area and is a little confusing on where to go inside. I enjoyed having out on the side, little less noise and traffic. Inside is very rustic and has a cool feel to it. Service was decent, and the patio is dog friendly which was great for Odin. I stayed in their parking lot with Harvest Host, which was a little convoluted as they dont check their stay requests for that, you just have to call in and ask if there is room or stop by and hope there's room. That was a little nerve wrecking considering there was no else for me to stay nearby and if there had been others I would have had to drive a few hours away. All in all I dig this place and their beer, will be back when in the area.

Yelp
Great cool youthful funky vibe. Great beer and seltzer.we had afternoon drinks. Loved the music and decor on the patio. Beer menu was great.

Yelp
$12 for a sub par beer at best is unreal. Place was dead, beer ain't great. Will not be back

Yelp
We stopped here on our way to Maine. We had two dogs so we sat outside. They were very accommodating and the waitress was very attentive.

Yelp
Great beer selection. They keep a solid range from IPAs to larger/pilsner Building is great with and looks like they are expanding Only flaw is no Casks? Only 4 packs cans Something they should thinks about

Dan S.

Yelp
Great setting. Barkeep cute and friendly but beer is meh and food was so so. Great vibe.

Charlie A.

Yelp
Super cool brewery! The building and patio area is a very cool spot to relax and enjoy a pint. Dog friendly and food is served which is a plus. Not many beer options but enough variety to satisfy anyone. I had the Dreams which is the easiest drinking beer they had. Solid beer and would for sure come back. Cheers.

Yelp
Great place, cool vibe. Loved the reggae music, the outdoor seating. Beer was adventurous in terms of the selection of flavor profiles, crisp clean and fresh. The downside was the food. Beer hummus, give it a miss. Grainy and flavorless. Tenders, can't screw that up, but not that appealing. Beer cheese sauce that accompanies the pretzels, devoid of any flavor. Listen, it does not take much to elevate simple bar food. On a positive, it is a Dog friendly place and offered water and bowls for the hounds we bought with us. I will visit again and try the flatbread offerings with my beer

Kaitlin T.

Yelp
The service was ABSOLUTELY HORRIFIC. Our waitress (don't even know her name) was SO RUDE, she came to our table literally twice.. once to order beers and the next to pay our tab. Lucky we even paid as that's how long we waited for her to acknowledge us. We weren't able to taste the food- smelled BOMB but unfortunately our server was so poor we didn't want to give our business any longer

Yelp
I came here with some co-workers and the environment was great. It's a spacious and vibrant place where they have a variety of great beers that they make in house. The food smelled delicious but we didn't have time to order any, so I will be back to try the food and enjoy more beverages. Also Liz the bartender is amazing.

Yelp
Beer is great and delish food. Had tacos empanadas and fries. All excellent but the fries were on my top 3 list. Hard to see from the street but worth the drive for sure. Try the bodega IPA! Crisp and refreshing. We'll b back

Taylor G.

Yelp
Great vibes and atmosphere. Always ample parking and good music. Plus I live the beer. Glad this place opened in the valley!!

Scott S.

Yelp
The beer is great, and the spot is very nice. The two times we've been there the kitchen wasn't open for pizza - but last time there was the Tres Leches food truck and it was delicious

Abbie C.

Yelp
We visited the Spicket River Brewery with our kids over the weekend. We all had a great time. We sat outside in an area a little bit quieter from the main music area, and it was perfect for kids to stretch out a bit. The location in the old mill buildings is beautiful and interesting. The food we ordered was tasty and the beers were great. We will definitely be back!

Allison R.

Yelp
This place is so cool! The outdoor seating is absolutely gorgeous and the food is good, beer is delicious and ambiance is so funky and en trend. Can't wait to go back!

Yelp
This is one of my favorite spots to hang out in the afternoon. Awesome beer, and they often have food trucks and/or their own kitchen open (the pretzel sticks are possibly the perfect snack to go with beer). Dog friendly on the patio, friendly waitstaff. Orale is now one of my favorite beers.

Shari M.

Yelp
Fantastic employees. Very professional, welcoming, amazing staff. The food is artistically delicious and the brews are something to absolutely come back for.

Norman F.

Yelp
I won't return as both my beer & my buddy's tasted chemically from the get go, as in tongue-tingling. You guys really should look into cleaning and rinsing those lines thoroughly. Ambient is nice though.

Yelp
A couple weeks back I stopped in to grab a few 4-packs, the place was nice and the beer was pretty good. Fast forward to yesterday, a few co-workers and I decided to stop in for some beers and pizza. We were sat at a table surrounded by bees! whatever bees are attracted to puddles of beer I get that, then we were informed that the chef wasn't coming in till later so we couldn't get food till after four, fine we can be patient. We drank some decent beers while waiting for the kitchen to open. The pictures on their website have what looks to be cochleae brick oven pizza that looks incredible, we were brought out the doughiest thrown together rectangular pizzas, they were glorified breadsticks barstool would give the pizza a big fat zero. After all this happened my friend left early and paid for his two beers on my tab at the front counter, then I paid my bill upon leaving and later realized they charged me for his beers again, they didn't take them off when he paid, whatever looks like I lost $14 bucks ‍. The wait staff was nice but clearly understaffed and the communication is seriously lacking. I hate to give such a low review because of the current Pandemic but I was high on their beer as seen on my Instagram @timeatsndrinks overall, the dine-in experience is pretty bad. I would stay away for now until they get things changed.

Jay S.

Yelp
Great local brewery! Jonny and his staff know how to make you feel welcome & the beer is excellent. HIGHLY recommend the chicken tenders in their special monster sauce! My wife and I have already become regulars here!

Megan B.

Yelp
The beer is good but I would definitely not recommend ordering food. The atmosphere is nice, they have a great outdoor dining area and the staff is friendly.
