Spicy & Cloud - Review - Chinatown - San Francisco - The Infatuation

"Spicy & Cloud is a casual restaurant in Chinatown with a lengthy menu of Chinese dishes. They serve everything from braised beef noodle soup and steamed whole fish to stir-fried crab, spicy kidney, and housemade beef jerky. We haven’t been here yet, but want you to know this spot exists." - Julia Chen

A hidden gem at the bottom of a staircase. This was a truly incredible meal. The sweet & sour ribs were a real delight. Very tender and a delicious sauce. Great appetizer. My husband loved the wonton soup and seaseme chicken. I got the spicy beef in spicy broth and finally, I was served some spicy Chinese food. This dish blew me away. It's a very big bowl but it goes perfect over some rice. We got a combo fried rice and its some of the best I have ever had. I have a pretty high spice tolerance and this was the perfect level of spice and flavor. The waitress got me extra spice as well . I'm very grateful for the incredible service we received tonight. This was a fantastic dinner and one we will always remember. I just wish we lived nearby instead of visiting.

I can't speak for other restaurants in Chinatown. But We ate the best damn fried rice and eggplant garlic dish in my life. Fried rice was so full of flavor and the eggplants were melting in my mouth. The place is not fancy, and that's what we're looking for. Service was

We were looking for somewhere authentic to eat in Chinatown, did a search on Google and found this restaurant and it didn't disappoint. The food was plentiful, tasty and hot. The service was friendly and quick. The decor wasn't up to much but the food more than made up for it. If you're in Chinatown you definitely need to try it

Stopped in here because of such great reviews. They had a family of 4 special for $50 and it was def worth it! We also ordered crab puffs and spicy potatoes. They were both delicious! For the meal we ordered 3 veggies and 2 meats. It was so much food for the 4 of us! We couldn’t even eat it all! The chicken was so flavorful and moist. The beef was tender and juicy. And all the rice you can eat! The veggies were so good! They served it with soup too! And hot tea. The atmosphere was super relaxed and our waiter was very friendly and helpful. I would def recommend it! I couldn’t get a pic of all the food cuz we ate it too fast! lol

I am happy that I chose the right place for dinner in China town. I ordered one rice noodles and one dish, both are very delicious - as you can see in the photo that I finished everything except for the bones. The waiter Jiaxin is very kind and friendly - excellent!

We ordered the Stir Fry Lotus Root/Spicy and Fired Cauliflower. It was amazing. Light, textured, delicious. We are very appreciative to them for sharing their dishes and that we were able to have lunch here. We drove from the California Coast to visit San Francisco. This place we chose to eat at was wonderful.

We ordered the sour spicy soup, skewers, and stir fried beef. The soup and beef are great! Just that the skewers are a bit fatty. We learnt that the restaurant is new. So understandable that the service is slow. The staff are very friendly.

Super fast and tasty. We came for the reviews and they did not disappoint at all. We had the beef and broccoli and wonton soup and both were perfect with amazing flavor. I’m a local and will be back!

Yelp
I stopped by Spicy and Cloud and got the beef short rib soup--it came out fast and instantly reminded me of a real home-style beef soup. Rich broth, tender meat, and just the kind of comforting bowl you want on a foggy SF day. It was well-priced for a solo meal, super filling, and didn't feel overly heavy. The vibe is casual, and the service was quick and friendly, which made the whole experience even better. Definitely coming back to try more of the menu--this spot's a sleeper hit.

Yelp
If you're looking for Chinese comfort food, this is the place to go. Tucked under a few stairs, it's a newer restaurant in Chinatown and a welcome addition. With a wide menu and many classic Chinese dishes, it's become a go-to whenever I'm looking to get a filling, comfort meal. Some of my favorites include the fish fillet with pickled mustard greens and the rice balls in rice wine dessert. One other highlight you can find here is the stir-fried crab with ginger and scallion, by far the most flavorful way you can eat crab. The portion sizes are great for the price you pay and the quality is well worth it. If you're looking for excellent Chinese food while in the city, this is the place to visit.

Yelp
SATURDAY, JULY 12: As the restaurant's host seated us, we were told that the kitchen was backed up and it would likely be 20-30 minutes before our order could be prepared. But we were determined to check out the food based on the positive reviews here on Yelp. Our patience paid off! We didn't notice if the dishes came out slower than usual, because everything we tried was hot, delicious, and well-prepared -- and a good value! (Prices are very reasonable here.) We'll definitely return to try more items from their expansive menu. Maybe we'll see you there!

Yelp
This is my third visit. The fish filet with pickled mustard green broth is my favorite--so flavorful. The Mongolian beef is also excellent. The food and service are great every time. Highly recommend, and I'll definitely be back!

Yelp
Food took a while to come out and orange chicken did not taste like orange chicken. Other items like fried rice and crispy chicken dumplings tasted good.

Yelp
First visit did not disappoint. Large portion size so good that when I asked if I needed another smaller entree that the waiter said whoah whoah 1 entree will be enough Looking forward to trying out the other dishes. Delicious and good quality. Ambiance was calm since they just opened and the nice chatter of the ladies nearby made it a comfortable vibe. Service was solid with a good waiter.

Yelp
Great crossing the bridge noodles. Came here for a weekday dinner so I didn't order too much, but definitely excited to try the other food as well when I get a chance. The Yunnan noodles here had a lot more ingredients than I normally find, which was a pleasant surprise! The server was also really nice and helpful in explaining things, my friend had never had these noodles before but the server told him about them. Love the classic Chinatown vibe as well.

Yelp
I only tries the Wonton Soup. The soup was overprice and service was soso. They didn't even remodel after the previous owner of Chef Hung's left the business. The table cloth were about the same from Chef Hung's. The sign I think is a sticker covering Chef Hung's name.
