Google
Mostly a selection of Indian spices and many other ingredients for Indian cooking. They also have a variety of frozen heat-and-eat Indian foods. They also offer a smaller selection of Ethiopian foods. It's fun to browse - you're sure to find something good!

Meat price is totally over priced 9.99 lbs. Just conventional beef suppost to be 4.99 lbs. This totally unacceptable in USA.

Yelp
I've been eying this place for almost a year now. It's right across the street from the street my client lives on. I saw the 'Grand Opening' sign go up back then, but I kept saying to myself I'd go when I need some spices. Little did I know it's more than that! Spicy Mart is a packed little (just two rows and a wall of frozen foods) store that sells mostly Indian and Pakistani foods. Foods this unadventurous diner has never heard of. Yes, I know what Paneer Palak is. They carry that, of course. What really caught my eye was the variety of baking ingredients, specifically the variety of flours they have in this tiny place. They have a two pound bag of rice flour for $1.99! I paid double that at my local co-op. They didn't have sweet rice flour though. I'll have to stick to H-Mart for that. They have dosa mix, but I am not really sure how that is different than regular rice flour. So, I'll start my international dining adventure slowly. I bought a box of frozen uttapam, with chopped onions, peppers and cilantro and chutney. For $1.99 I think it is a worthy investment in culinary exploration. Spicy Mart is right next to the Fairland Animal Hospital, just past the Exxon (which always has cheaper-than-DC gas prices).

Yelp
Only place to find fresh Indian sweets in the area - and they got rave reviews! They are not made on the premises, but delivered fresh every week and very reasonably priced!

Yelp
Very friendly people at the store. They were extremely helpful and felt genuine about their recommendations. Spices here are from India. The ones I've gotten smell so different from the ones I get from the American grocery store. And the prices are significantly less! A whole bag of something costs the same price as a little container at giant or shop rite. Oh they sell fresh chicken that they actually have to pluck .. I think he said 1.99 a pound and you have to buy the whole chicken. And goat but I don't remember the price for that. This is a cool little shop.. It's been around for such a long time and now I understand why.

Yelp
I have tried buying meats and fish's at different Indian stores for many years and ultimately stopped buying from Indian Stores because of kerosene smell.About one month ago, I bought fish and meat from Spicy Mart and I am surprised to see how it tastes. Its an awesome store with all items can be picked up very easily, clean and tidy and all employees are very friendly.I recommend Spicy Mart to anyone who wants to buy international groceries and meats

Yelp
Spicy mart is packed with all things you need for Indian style cooking/snacks/foods especially south Indian (more specially Kerala). You will get all variety of Kerala snacks (frozen) here those we missed in US. Also you may find some Ayurvedic medicines here
