“Tetraodía - Crossroads Coffee” - Greece’s version of the perfect piazza morning coffee. Sit outside, surrounded by relaxed likeminded coffee connoisseurs. The setting and environment definitely makes this place, the coffee comes second. It falls into what I’m calling the, “Hybrid Flaw”. It is a bar first and selling alcohol in a great setting is what makes this place. Coffee is just a way of keeping trade in the morning/ lunchtime hours. It seems to be very common in Greece and sometimes it is done well but it often leads to coffee coming second to cocktails. It’s not a flaw from a business point of view but just means that the great cup of coffee I’m searching for is not quite up to scratch.
Coffee - 7.8: perfect size but it comes slightly too hot for the glass cup it’s served in. That would all be too picky if the coffee was perfect but unfortunately the foam is too thick and the beans were lacking. I tried both the blend and the single origin. The blend is better but is a little too roasted for my liking, leaves a bitter aftertaste and the flavour just isn’t there to compensate.
